So today I found out I’m pregnant with #1 ! & I honestly haven’t stopped crying with happiness all morning. Although I know it’s early days, I just wanted to see if there were any other early Oct babies due so that we can share the journey! I’m over the moon ❤️❤️❤️❤️

Exciting, @bluemoon2468! Let us know how it goes!

@Treacle81 I have mine on Tue, too! Like Bluemoon, I too can’t wait to get the ball rolling!

Quiffy · 29/02/2020 09:21

Had my booking appointment yesterday, went really well. I was really scared yet she was lovely!

Also feeling a lot less sick, which is both great and scary 😂

Treacle81 · 29/02/2020 09:28

V exciting times approaching girls! 😘❤️Xx

bluemoon2468 · 29/02/2020 10:33

Appointment was exciting - a lot longer than I thought, it was really comprehensive! Feels so exciting to have my pack of notes! Can't wait to find out when my scan will be!

Quiffy · 29/02/2020 11:11

@bluemoon2468 it makes it feel very real. How’s your sickness been?

MsSian93 · 29/02/2020 11:37

I had my booking appointment yesterday too and am anxiously awaiting my scan date!

My sickness has calmed down too, reassuring that my boobs still hurt though just so i have some symptoms haha!

bluemoon2468 · 29/02/2020 11:39

@Quiffy since I've been on medication the sickness has been much more manageable. Still being sick when I first get up in the morning but other than that just nausea. If I take a pill even an hour or so late though I feel like im about to vomit, so I feel like underlying it it's still pretty bad. So glad I went for medication when I did!

Spark27 · 29/02/2020 12:31

For the last 2 days I've felt pretty good. Still nauseous if I let myself get hungry, but not all the time, and a lot less than before. Fingers crossed that I might have turned a corner. I think the test will be on wednesday when I have to go back to work

MrsD1990 · 29/02/2020 13:32

Quite a few of us had our booking appointment yesterday - I had mine too! Lasted an hour, I was so surprised. They took urine, blood and m checked my breath for pollution levels. Husband came along with me and I'm so glad, he took notes of all the things the midwife said we needed to do (buy nursing bras etc) and also I want him at all of my appointments just generally anyway.

The hospital also uses an app so have my next two appointments and my results on there, it's quite impressive! So I have my 12 week scan at the end of March and then a big group appointment with the midwife in April. Feels so organised 😁 glad I've had private scans before now, I wouldn't be able to wait until 12 weeks!!

MrsD1990 · 01/03/2020 12:08

How's everyone today?

Treacle81 · 01/03/2020 12:28

Currently sat in M&S waiting to be measured for bra as today first day that boobs aren’t painful and nausea definitely subsiding 🙌🏻xx

MrsD1990 · 01/03/2020 12:31

Ooh glad you're feeling better @Treacle81!! The midwife told me to get nursing bras asap so I might pop out today and get some too

Quiffy · 01/03/2020 13:41

Had my scan this morning and everything looking great. So relived, even managed to go out for lunch without being sick 😸😁

@MrsD1990 yours sounds very fancy with the app!

MrsD1990 · 01/03/2020 13:45

That's amazing @Quiffy! Glad everything was looking good!! Yeah the app was a surprise. When they told me about it I thought it would be rubbish tbh and that I'd just prefer to have notes but is surprisingly good!

CouscousEvaporator · 01/03/2020 13:56

Ahh this is all so exciting! Glad the scan was good @Quiffy. I’m still debating whether to get an early one but I think I’d resent £80 for 15 minutes 🤣

Got my booking appointment next week. Already got some nursing bras as my others don’t fit!

@mrsD1990 how do they test pollution levels, I didn’t even know that was a thing!

Quiffy · 01/03/2020 14:00

@couscousevaporator thankfully where I come from the scan is only £50, which is still a lot but worth every penny for the relief. It was literally 10 mins though!

Im also curious on the pollution test @MrsD1990 is it because you live in a big city?

CouscousEvaporator · 01/03/2020 14:13

@quiffy that’s much more reasonable! I see on groupon other cities do offers for £39 but not where I am 😞 one place near me charges £100 for 10 minutes.

If they charged less I think they’d make more money!

Quiffy · 01/03/2020 14:22

@Couscousevaporator I think you’re right, if it was half the price you’d get far more people going in. I thought weddings were big money, babies are crazy money!

SkyBlue20 · 01/03/2020 15:18

Glad all of the scans and appointments have gone well, everyone - I concur, the app sounds very fancy!

I’ve felt alright the last few days but today... boobs are killing me (for the first time) and the nausea is a whole other level. Just had an hour and a half car journey and was nibbling crackers and sipping water the whole time. I’m also absolutely exhausted - had a burst of energy before and went to the supermarket to get stuff for dinner and thought I’d cook a really nice meal etc...got home and I’m thinking husband is going to have to cook as I just need to lie down and close my eyes 🥴

Spark27 · 01/03/2020 15:55

I wanted to get an early scan, but the ones near me are about £80. There are deals for £40 but they're about 80mins away. If I didn't have DD I'd be tempted, but I cant be bothered with the round trip. And I'd worry she would tell everyone. I'll probably pay £40 for a gender scan from 18w, then I can take DD and I'll know if I need to keep all her old clothes or not.

I had the pollution/CO2 test at my booking in appt. You just blow into a machine for a few seconds (I assume it's like a breathalyser test, having never had one). I live in a suburban area and I think it's just a routine test.

I've been feeling a lot better the last few days, so hoping I'm over the worst. Need to eat regularly, and craving beige/crap food, but it's a lot better.

I had no boob changes last time. It wasnt until I had DD and started expressing that they grew. Didn't have any boob pain in last pregnancy or so far. Saves me money on bras I suppose.

BntTowers · 01/03/2020 16:04

It's good to see everyone having their fist appointments. Mines booked in, but I will be 10 weeks on the dot which is a bit annoying... I've booked the whole day off work which is something though, can't wait for the 4 day week.
I'm 6+5 at the moment so to wait over just another 3 weeks feels like ages.
We are telling parents about the pregnancy next weekend which I'm looking forward to.

Half tempted to try and find somewhere to do an early scan before that first appointment because it's so far away still...

MrsD1990 · 01/03/2020 16:37

@Quiffy @CouscousEvaporator it might be because I live in London - it's routine here and may be in some other places too. Like @Spark27 said, you blow into a machine and it measures the levels. I haven't seen the results yet but hopefully everything is ok.

Tryingforanother2020 · 01/03/2020 17:04

Well after lots of pain on my right side, convincing myself I had pain in my shoulder and then a small bleed the other day, we had a private scan today. Perfect little bean with a heartbeat flickering away at 153bpm ❤️ overwhelmed!

Today I found out I’m pregnant! Early Oct babies please join!
Quiffy · 01/03/2020 17:13

@Tryingforanother2020 ahh that’s wonderful. Congratulations ❤️

@MrsD1990 I live in rural(ish) Scotland so could be that, or maybe at a later appointment as that’s when my urine ones are too. It’s really interesting the different ways that each area does it.

@BntTowers that must feel ages away, at least your 12 week scan will be super fast after that.

@Spark27 hopefully you’re past the worst of the sickness ❤️

@SkyBlue20 such a long car journey sounds hellish! Have a rest for sure.

MrsD1990 · 01/03/2020 17:29

@quiffy yes sounds like you have much better air quality so they might not check your pollution levels. I read on Mumsnet someone else said they didn't get their blood or anything taken at their booking appointment so I was surprised when they took mine. Guess everywhere is different!

@Tryingforanother2020 huge congratulations!! That's so amazing you saw the heart beat ♥️♥️♥️
