So today I found out I’m pregnant with #1 ! & I honestly haven’t stopped crying with happiness all morning. Although I know it’s early days, I just wanted to see if there were any other early Oct babies due so that we can share the journey! I’m over the moon ❤️❤️❤️❤️

Yea we all seem to be going through it. I woke with the worst indigestion and heartburn, along with extreme pain towards top of tummy, so sore o couldn’t walk. In work now and just feel like death! Put my scan forward so just looking forward to that! x

Zaalfruit · 24/02/2020 13:55

@Treaclepie19 :( I hope you feel better . I’m so glad my doctors signed me off . My work place made me take annual leave last week.

@quiffy feeling any better ? My dad gave me sugar free digestives they actually felt alright. Fingers crossed it’s stay in me.

DebelynneAurora · 24/02/2020 14:18

Hi ladies, I'm new to chatting like this.. But nervous as to what to expect. I found out just over a week ago I'm pregnant with my 4th baby. It was a shock and completely unplanned. I can't help but keep feeling like it's too good to be true... I was on the phone to 111 last night crying because of my cramping and had the tiniest bit of brownish discharge (just once) and went into melt down mode and cried myself to sleep. The nurse who called me back said this sounds normal for early pregnancy and wasn't concerned. I know I get these cramps as I remember having them with my daughter. Cramps just scare me 🙄

Quiffy · 24/02/2020 15:24

@Zaalfruit I'm being sick less thanks to tablets, but the nausea is torture. Doc had me get some bloods and I've to go back for more on wednesday due to enlarged liver, he says not to worry yet but that's not stopped me. How are you getting on?

@DebelynneAurora congratulations!! I agree on cramps, they freak me right out too!

DebelynneAurora · 24/02/2020 15:30

@quiffy I haven't experienced any sickness as of yet.. Boobs have only become sore 3 days ago.. I'm only about 5-6 weeks x

JazzFord · 24/02/2020 15:44

You're right! I work in HR, so thankfully have read through our policy and have a good working relationship with my Director so told him about me being pregnant and he's been as supportive as he can and understanding. Today's been a good day though, managed to eat more today and go into work. I'm so sorry to hear you fell, i hope you're ok now though! it's good you're reducing your hours, 100% our little beans have got to come first!! xx

Look after yourself! xx

SkyBlue20 · 24/02/2020 19:16

Just fell over while doing my physio exercises, not from a great height, on to our living room rug and on to my bum but now of course I’m terrified for the baby even though rationally I know it’s probably absolutely fine. What do I do?!

CouscousEvaporator · 24/02/2020 19:51

@skyblue20 I had the same worry when I fell down the stairs last week, but the baby is still within the pelvic bones at the moment so no damage will be done, it’s too well protected.
Even a moderate car crash at this stage is unlikely to harm it. Hope that’s reassuring.

Sorry to hear there are so many of us struggling at the moment. I’m keeping my fingers crossed we can all have lovely glowing pregnancies once the second trimester is here!!

SkyBlue20 · 24/02/2020 20:18

Thank you, @couscousevaporator, that’s reassuring. Think my thigh/bum bore the brunt of it anyway, it’s killing me, going to be a big bruise! Hope you’re ok after your fall xx

LexiM · 24/02/2020 20:21

I’m joining the feeling rubbish club today, although feel like I shouldn’t complain compared to how bad some of you are feeling!
Just felt so sick all day, the only time I’ve felt better is when I’m eating or having a nap. I’m so paranoid about putting on weight so trying not to snack all the time but it’s really hard. I was alone at work today so left early but tomorrow I have meetings so won’t be able to. My work still doesn’t know but unsure if today’s symptoms are constant how much longer I can keep quiet.

@SkyBlue20 I’m sure everything will be ok, the body is meant to protect the baby so unless it was particularly bad I would wait. Sorry probably not very helpful but I hope you aren’t feeling sore.

CouscousEvaporator · 24/02/2020 20:41

@SkyBlue20 glad I helped a little. I know how you feel anxiety-wise about falls - I was hysterical from shock when I fell. The bruises have faded now thankfully... My partner works in medicine so he reassured me lots but it took ages to stop crying from the shock (and a bit of pain!)

I’m also glad to hear that the workplaces that know are really supportive. 🙂

roarfeckingroar · 24/02/2020 21:40

Can I join? I've just had a massive shock that I'm a couple of weeks pregnant with my first. Not planned but long term partner and we are both incredibly excited and utterly petrified !

SkyBlue20 · 24/02/2020 21:52

@LexiM Sorry to hear you’re feeling rubbish - I’m with you on the having to eat so you don’t feel sick but not wanting to put on loads of extra weight, it’s a balancing act! I’m just trying to eat healthy main meals and snacks but allowing myself some chocolate/biscuits once a day or so too. I don’t always succeed, mind - had an unhealthy lunch today!
When do you plan to tell your work?

@CouscousEvaporator Yeah I just burst in to tears too and had no idea why, I assumed it was the shock, pain and feeling guilty/annoyed that I can’t remember the last time I fell but the minute I get pregnant... 🤦🏻‍♀️

Congratulations @roarfeckingroar! How many weeks are you? When are you due? If it’s any consolation, we were actively trying and it’s still terrifying 😂

We realised tonight that we have a really odd situation whereby my husband’s childhood friend (who was groomsman at our wedding) has a girlfriend that we haven’t yet met (but they live together and have been together a year or two) who is a midwife and we’re about 90% sure she is a midwife at the hospital we’ve chosen to have the baby at. So, we’re thinking about whether she might see my (very uncommon) name on a list or something/be our midwife/see us in the hospital and find out we’re pregnant that way, so we are debating whether we need to tell his friend ASAP as we’d really rather he heard it directly from us and we have an appointment there next week 🤔 His gf followed us on Instagram and will have seen the wedding pics so she’d recognise us and know the names. Strange situation!

Rachel227 · 24/02/2020 21:54

Hi all! I'm due around 12th October with first baby. Fiancé and I are overjoyed, but incredibly surprised. Both of us were under the impression we'd have difficulty conceiving, but here we are!

Zaalfruit · 24/02/2020 22:22

@quiffy oh no - don’t google it to much it will make you worry more . I know easier said than done. Did they test your ketones?
My doctors have banned me from fruits and diary and tomato’s - said maybe that might help . I’m sorry that you are feeling so ridden with nausea - I’m so glad to be signed off . But when I smell food it’s game over . I hope you feel better quickly and we hit our second trimester milestone with no hiccups.

Is anyone else worried about the Coronavirus?

And welcome and congrats to everyone who is having an October baby.

Watched a you tube video about water births - scared me but looks so interesting at the same time .. does anyone else google or watch odd stuff when they can’t sleep?

LexiM · 24/02/2020 22:31

@SkyBlue20 yeah I am trying to eat healthier meals too, although finding it hard when I don’t fancy cooking. My husband is doing quite a bit though which helps. Ideally I want to wait until the scan to tell work but going to wait and see. I work in a tiny office with only one other person so in some ways it’s easier to hide it as she works part time. She’s also on holiday next week, in for one week and off on jury service for two weeks following that so won’t be around much so I might get away with it.

I think maybe tell your friend. Even though it’s meant to be confidential at hospitals we all know people go home and tell their partners things!

MrsB1821 · 25/02/2020 08:57

Morning ladies - anyone else craving crap??? Lol
I usually eat really well - love a good salad etc. But now even home cooked roast is turning my stomach! I want nuggets!!! But now I’m worried this will affect the baby and may even cause miscarriage - any thoughts much welcome!!! Xx

Quiffy · 25/02/2020 10:01

@Zaalfruit I reeeeaaallly hope we get that blooming second trimester where we feel fabulous. I shouldn't really be working but I'm freelance, so if I cancel projects the likelihood is I won't get them back and want the money for baby things. Stupid adulting.

@roarfeckingroar congratulations! Love the username

@Rachel227 congratulations!!

@mrsb1821 feel you on the processed foods, I just seem to like turkey dinosaurs and chips. I'm usually one for lots of vegetables and homecooked meals. I wouldnt worry too much though, just go with what your body is feeling.

@SkyBlue20 That is a pickle. I think I'd tell him if you want to be the first to tell him, as it is one of those things where people do gossip - even if they shouldnt!

Spark27 · 25/02/2020 10:16

@MrsB1821, I'm with you. I usually eat fairly healthy, try and gets lots of fruit and veg in, and always home cooking. Now I just want to eat beige. Still feeling really nauseous, but wanting to eat constantly to help the feeling. Craving croissants, tiger bread, cheese & crackers and chocolate. The only thing that's stopping me getting a McD is the distance.

From what I've read if you're feeling nauseous and can only really manage beige then good with it. Baby will take all the nutrients it needs from you. But if you can manage a little bit of good stuff that's a bonus. I'm really hoping I pick up in the 2nd tri so I can start eating well again.

Congrats to all the new BFPs xx

DressingGown87 · 25/02/2020 10:28

@MrsB1821 milkybars!! I can’t stop eating them! I’m trying to eat home cook meals in the evenings, although when I’m getting home I’m knackered, and the last thing I want to do is cook.

Treaclepie19 · 25/02/2020 10:33

@Zaalfruit I'm nervous about coronavirus. That's nothing new for me though so just trying to keep a lid on it.

Don't worry about the beige club ladies. It's normal.
I've had cereal this morning and then 2 creme eggs...

BooMamaBear · 25/02/2020 11:24

I was in a calorie controlled diet just to keep my weight in the middle of normal range BMI but now I'm more hungry (when I don't feel sick) and white magnums are the only thing that help my sickness slightly and I am craving salt and vinegar Pringles and I'm really thirsty all the time! Xx

roarfeckingroar · 25/02/2020 11:37

@quiffy thank you!!!

I'm finding I hate the idea of cheese despite it being my favourite thing usually and I'm generally just nauseous. Turkey dinosaurs sound surprisingly appealing!

MrsB1821 · 25/02/2020 14:37

Goodness girls!!!! I gave in!!! I’ve just had the biggest KFC! Bean is happy for now but ive realised it didn’t cut the mustard - I crave McDonald’s nuggets!!!! Trust me to want bad stuff! X

Spark27 · 25/02/2020 15:02

@MrsB1821 I want a McD soooooo bad. The burger....the salty chips....OMG! It's a good and bad thing that I am too lazy to go and get one.
You know the smaller baguettes that you get from tescos. The ones that are about 1/3 of the size. I have eaten a whole tiger baguette that size so far today. Now I'm trying to think what I want next
