Hi,

Starting a thread for ladies in early pregnancy after one or more miscarriages or stillbirths. A safe place to let off steam and hopefully grow healthy rainbows together......

Oh @Seahawk80 I am so so sorry. That's just devastating. We are all here if you need to talk. Look after yourselves, sending so much love 💐❤️

Scout20 · 26/02/2020 11:10

@Seahawk80 I'm so sorry to read your update. I know words won't help, but like everyone else I just wanted to check in to say I'm thinking of you. I hope you're getting lots of support. We're all here if and when.

Seahawk80 · 26/02/2020 11:24

Thank you everyone. I'm just trying to process it all. This is the second time we've been in this situation. I don't know if it's better or worse that it's something different. Work have been amazing which is good. I'm just taking some time out and I feel luckier than ever to have DS. I hope that you all get your rainbows. I don't know if we'll try again, we don't have to decide anything now so we'll just focus on life as a three and be very glad that we have that.

seaduck · 26/02/2020 17:32

So glad work are understanding @Seahawk80, it makes a difference to have that time to process. Take care, I've been thinking of you.

Aria2015 · 26/02/2020 23:54

@Seahawk80 I'm sorry to read your update. Can't imagine how you must be feeling Thanks.

didslysquiddlydoo · 27/02/2020 05:45

Oh @Seahawk80 I'm so sorry to hear your update, I just can't even imagine how you must be feeling. My heart goes out to you You don't need to make any decisions about the future right now - you will definitely need time to process and heal and I hope you have good support around you. So sorry, I will be thinking of you xxx

TunnocksTcake · 27/02/2020 09:25

Just wanted to let you all know we just had our scan and all is perfect, measuring slightly ahead somehow at 9w1d. There was a scary 5 minutes where he couldn't find it because of my retroverted uterus and too full bladder so had internal in the end and it was perfect 🥰

Treaclepie19 · 27/02/2020 09:53

That's lovely news @TunnocksTcake! Smile

Knotemma · 27/02/2020 09:56

@TunnocksTcakethats lovely news, I'm really pleased it went well.

I went back to the doctor's yesterday, have yet more tablets to try (I swear I'd rattle if you shook me) and another sick note. I've also had a dreadful headache since yesterday, which apparently is a pregnancy thing. Trying very hard to be less grumpy and I'm even succeeding some of the time.
Trying to set myself small goals every day, some days go better than others. Hope you're all doing ok x

Rachael321 · 27/02/2020 10:54

@TunnocksTcake that's great news, so pleased for you!

I'm 15 weeks today cant quite believe it Shock

Avocuddles · 27/02/2020 10:58

@TunnocksTcake congratulations on the scan, that's great news. So many of us are so close together!

@Knotemma I had a stinking two day headache last week. In the end I took some paracetamol (fine in pregnancy in moderation) and it eventually went away, hope yours clears up soon. Setting small goals is a great idea. It's best to be realistic with ourselves and honest about the fact that much as we try we're not superwoman, we need to listen to our bodies and take each day as it comes....

I just held a colleagues teeny tiny three week old baby at work! It took all my strength to not tell everyone there that hopefully it might be me next..... it's a real change for me as until recently seeing a newborn baby would just make me ache with sadness. At the moment I have a weird conflicting mix of emotions going on, part excitement, part fear..... i just wish we had a crystal ball and could know for sure if our pregnancies will lead to a forever baby....

Great news @TunnocksTcake. So glad for you. I bet you were holding your breath (and bladder!) for those first five minutes.

I also had a positive scan on Tuesday, measuring 9+0. I had logged on to say yesterday, but held my breath given the circumstances. I also had my (very long) booking appointment yesterday - it felt very weird to be having conversations about birth when I'm just focussed on surviving the next week! The midwife confirmed I'm high risk, with lots of specialist input and scans. I'd like to feel optimistic that will help!

@Knotemma glad you've got some different tablets to try, I hope they make the difference for you. I hope you're managing to drink enough, maybe that's connected to the headache?

@Avocuddles that sounds like a pretty major emotional shift for you, even to feel able to hold the baby. Fingers crossed for you that it will be your baby in the months ahead.

Knotemma · 27/02/2020 12:43

@Scout20 I've been trying really hard to drink plenty, it's doesn't feel like a dehydration headache, it isn't thumpy, it's behind my right eye. I'm trying to avoid taking even more tablets, mostly because having a big drink all at once makes me feel really nauseous. Going to try a warm compress on my forehead, see how that goes. If not I might get some Calpol 😂 at least I'll be able to get that down.

bananamuffin99 · 27/02/2020 12:56

@Seahawk80 I am so sorry to hear that, it must have been so incredibly hard for you and your partner. xx

I am now married and back from our little honeymoon, it feels nice being a Mrs Smile I did have a bit of a scare on our wedding night, I had red blood after sex. I haven't had anything else since and no pains either, I know I just need to wait until scan on Sunday. I did consider buying a clearblue with weeks, to see if it's at least gone to 2-3 weeks if not 3+ but I think it's best to just wait??

Scout20 · 27/02/2020 13:05

@Knotemma Poor you, it sounds awful. Lots of little sips of water usually helps me and is easier on the stomach. Hope you don't need to resort to Calpol!

@bananamuffin99 congratulations! I would definitely not bother with a ClearBlue, they're notoriously unreliable. The cervix can be really sensitive in pregnancy so hopefully it's just that. Fingers crossed for you.

Hagster · 28/02/2020 09:34

@bananamuffin99 congratulations! And congrats also on having sex on your wedding night, I was way too tipsy and exhausted! 😬🙈😂⁣

@TunnocksTcake @Scout20 huge congratulations on the successful scans, so happy for you. We have a scan on Monday (should be 7 weeks). I hadn't had many symptoms so was getting a bit nervous but today the nausea is hitting v.hard so I'm simultaneously hating it and loving it. Still really nervous but keep reminding myself there's basically nothing I can do other than the obvious stuff and we'll just see on Monday.⁣

@Knotemma sorry you're feeling so awful. Hope these new drugs sort you out. Or the Calpol (LOVED that stuff. Husband once did a drinking game with it. Went very wrong. Idiot.)⁣

@Avocuddles I know exactly what you mean. Starting to notice I don't boil with jealousy when I see pregnancy/babies but still very detached from my own reality.

tmc14 · 28/02/2020 10:21

Congratulations on the scans @TunnocksTcake @ @Scout20

Hope you’re feeling ok @Knotemma you’re having a really rotten time of it

We had a good scan this morning at 7w1d. Measuring spot on, everything looked clear, heartbeat looked good. I am relieved but also feeling quite neutral still as we had a similar scan at 8w last time and then it all went wrong. But for now I am pregnant and all looks ok. DH doesn’t want a scan in between now & 12w, even though it’s 5 and a half weeks until that scan!! I might have to learn how to be patient... I do get his point that it’s a lot of money.

Glad you’re doing better with other people’s babies @Avocuddles that does make life a lot nicer and easier.

Good luck for your scan on Monday @Hagster. I was a bit of a wreck last night & this morning but there is nothing you can do except accepting your feelings and waiting... and trying to keep busy!

SammiLou2312 · 28/02/2020 11:31

Congratulations all on your successful scans. Hoping you are all well. I am so so sleepy lately, making work so difficult

Avocuddles · 28/02/2020 13:57

Hi!

This thread is about to reach the 999 post limit so I've set up a new one at Pregnant after loss and dreaming of rainbows - 2 www.mumsnet.com/Talk/pregnancy/3835015-pregnant-after-loss-and-dreaming-of-rainbows-2

I'll try to tag as many of you as possible on there :)

@tmc14 glad your scan went well. I had one at 9 weeks as well as 7 which really reassured me (my losses having been at 7 and 8 weeks), maybe see how you feel over the next week or so, you can usually book with quite short notice if you feel you need one.

Hope you all have relaxing weekends planned!

@Pippop21 welcome back, glad to see you back here and I hope you're doing ok.
@MrsMGE welcome and gentle congratulations

I've just attempted to remake a holiday favourite meal of French toast, bacon and syrup. It was pretty good when we can't get to Lyme Regis. Now thinking about falling face first into a ferroro rocher Easter egg.
Hope everyone is having a good weekend and enjoying the weather
