Hi,

Starting a thread for ladies in early pregnancy after one or more miscarriages or stillbirths. A safe place to let off steam and hopefully grow healthy rainbows together......

There doesn't seem to be an October birth club yet. I'm too nervous to make one 😂🙈

Avocuddles · 23/01/2020 12:44

@Treaclepie19 my due date would be 27th September I think so could also potentially be in October though dont think I'd be allowed to go much over due to medical history. I occasionally browse the September birth clubs but I don't think I'll consider joining one until my first scan is out of the way.... I think I'll use another FRER over the weekend, and the remaining Clearblue around a week today. Then no more tests after 6 weeks! Hope you get your appointments sorted ASAP.

@newmum2020 welcome and tentative congratulations to you! Hopefully we'll all be able to help keep the anxiety in check.

@Sunflower1608 I'm glad it's not just me! 😂

@InDreamland thanks for the kind post, it's lovely to know that you are all rooting for us! I've been following regularly since I left the board in September, glad you've all made it through the ups and downs and excited to see some babies!

@Avocuddles mine would be 4th October. My ds1 was 3.5 weeks early though so who knows!
Do you have a plan in place for this pregnancy?
I think we will try and go with the flow a bit... I would like to book a 6/7 week scan though. 9 weeks feels ages away.
After that I think we will have the NIPT and use the dating scan/NIPT results to tell us whether to have a cvs or amnio or neither.

SunStruck · 23/01/2020 13:23

@Treaclepie19 @Avocuddles my due date according to Naturalcycles app is 29 November 😊

We have a plan in place... I'll book the first scan for in 2 weeks time, if all well with that probably another in 2 weeks and another at 10 weeks. At the 10 weeks scan we'll do a Harmony test to decide if we need any more tests. I don't think I can go from 6 weeks to 10 weeks (scan), I did this my first pregnancy (that ended in MMC), and the baby had died at 9 weeks (1 week before the 2nd scan).

All of this just feels like light years away!!!

Avocuddles · 23/01/2020 13:47

@Treaclepie19 @SunStruck because of my clotting history I will be under a consultant for the duration, I'm already injecting blood thinners daily but waiting to get my first appointment through.
Although I conceived naturally the fertility clinic have kindly offered to scan me at 7 weeks (I got pretty upset when they said they were going to discharge me which seemed to do the trick). This will be a real make or break time for me, last time round a private scan at 7 weeks showed me measuring 9 days behind and I started miscarrying a few days later. I'm not really letting myself think beyond that stage yet but I do have my midwife booking appointment in for between 8 and 9 weeks and I would probably like another scan around that point if we make it that far. But for now it's just one day at a time.....

@SunStruck I think you mean 29th September unless you're planning an 11 month pregnancy! Grin

Sunflower1608 · 23/01/2020 13:54

I've got 2nd October booked. No extra support in place. I just don't know if I can wait until 12 weeks for my first scan. but not sure I can afford a scan privately 😔

didslysquiddlydoo · 23/01/2020 14:15

Hi all,

Joining here feels like a scary step to take but as everyone is at a similarly very early stage with similar precious experiences I thought - why not?!

Me -
Been TTC for 3 years.

First pregnancy last year ended in a MMC at 10 weeks (had previously had scan and seen heartbeat at 7 weeks, baby stopped growing at 7+1 would you believe!). Had ERPC and it was all quite an emotional experience.
Waited for first AF as advised then tried again - had a chemical pregnancy the next two months in a row.
This is my third full cycle since AF returning and I am shocked to have had a positive test. Fingers crossed this time!

Do others think there seems to be some truth in being more fertile following miscarriage? I can't believe I didn't conceive for nearly three years and then technically conceived three months in a row following my MMC!

Glad to meet you all and wishing you all so much luck with your pregnancies!! Xx

didslysquiddlydoo · 23/01/2020 14:19

Ps - I'm 4+3 and due date would be around 29th September xx

Treaclepie19 · 23/01/2020 15:45

I'm glad they're seeing you @Avocuddles. Will keep everything crossed for us all.

Welcome @didslysquiddlydoo!

I'm just looking at an early scan. I can get one at 7 weeks which would be great because I'll be going out of my mind by then but then I'm thinking if it's only 2 more weeks until we see the consultant maybe I should try and wait.
I have a massive fear of having an ectopic pregnancy though which isn't helping.

newmum2020 · 23/01/2020 17:47

Have just caught up with thread and everyone's journey, lovely to be in a place where we are all in the same boat!! Same/very close due dates for most! I will be due around 29th September which is pretty much bang on 3 months after my first due date.

Look forward to chatting to you all!

SunStruck · 23/01/2020 19:05

@avocuddles yesss I meant due date 29 September 🤣 I see a few ladies here with the same potential due date! 🥰

avocadoincident · 23/01/2020 20:40

I'm going to tentatively join if that's ok.
I had a positive result today (very faint) period due tomorrow though.

I had a mmc at 20 weeks in October and it's been horrific ever since. I'm 40 too so I need this to work.

I recognise tour name @Avocuddles from a different thread (not sure which now).

@Treaclepie19 my due date is 4th October too. X

Treaclepie19 · 23/01/2020 20:59

Ohh a due date buddy!! Welcome and tentative congratulations @avocadoincident Smile x

Avocuddles · 23/01/2020 22:10

Hi @avocadoincident and tentative congratulations to you. I hope this is your rainbow baby, and that you are as relaxed as you can be in the circumstances! It's such a nervewracking time and I'm glad we've all found each other, it's crazy how close together in dates a lot of us are.

Ladies at the 4-5 week stage, what symptoms if any are you experiencing? I have an achy, crampy bloating feeling a lot of the time, not sure if it's constipation or trapped wind but it's quite disconcerting. Boob tenderness has kicked in today and my nipples have started permanently standing to attention! All of these symptoms are very similar to my previous pregnancies so I don't really know anything different.....

OP posts:
newmum2020 · 23/01/2020 22:35

@Avocuddles just a bit of cramping for me but nothing else yet not even a hint of sore boobs which is weird as this was my first really strong symptom last time!

bwSB · 23/01/2020 23:55

Can I join? This is my 3rd pregnancy after a miscarriage & an ectopic pregnancy. I am now 8 weeks 4 days & feel like it’s taking forever to get to the 12 week mark! I had a scan at 6 weeks which showed a strong heartbeat, should this reassure me? I’m scared to get my hopes up too much.

Kivsa · 24/01/2020 00:19

My story in a nutshell:

Me and DH (then fiancé) started trying for a baby in January 2019. I got pregnant (aged 40, first pregnancy) in February/ early March. Miscarried very early on, at 5 weeks and a few days. Bleeding started on 18 March, ended fairly quickly. GP told me to wait for at least another cycle, but didn’t have any time to waste at my age. Tried again 2 weeks after mc and here I am, holding my sweet, one-month old rainbow in my arms, at the ripe old age of 41, after an uncomplicated pregnancy.

The mc just made me realise how lucky I am to have this cutie.

Avocuddles · 24/01/2020 06:37

Welcome @bwSB! It sounds like things are going well so far, a strong heartbeat at 6 weeks is encouraging though I still understand how the days must be really dragging for you at the moment.

@Kivsa thanks for sharing your really encouraging story! Did you do anything differently or feel any different the second time around?

OP posts:
Treaclepie19 · 24/01/2020 07:00

@Avocuddles that sounds about right for that stage!
I'm not even 4 weeks and seem to be feeling it a lot this time. I feel sick and headachey. Very crampy so I'm checking for blood everytime I go to the toilet.
I did another test this morning so will be analysing that all day I'm sure.

Treaclepie19 · 24/01/2020 07:06

@bwSB a place we had a private scan at before said this. It's definitely a good sign seeing a heartbeat.

At 6 weeks gestation 78% of pregnancies in which a fetal heartbeat is identified, will continue to term
At 7 weeks gestation 95% of pregnancies in which a fetal heartbeat is identified, will continue to term
At 8 weeks gestation 98% of pregnancies in which a fetal heartbeat is identified, will continue to term
At 10 weeks gestation 99.4% of pregnancies in which a fetal heartbeat is identified, will continue to term

Pugmum19 · 24/01/2020 07:27

I’m nervously going to join!
I am pregnant for the second time after my miscarriage in September. I’m currently 8 + 4 and counting down the days to my next scan. I had a big bleed at around 5 weeks and convinced we had another miscarriage, the scans showed the sac still there though and we were scheduled another scan 2 weeks later. So our complete shock the next scan showed a heartbeat!! They offered us another scan 2 weeks later and now waiting for this one. I’m just so hoping this is a positive scan!
Great to read so many positive stories, it’s such an anxious time and you end up questioning every feeling so good to stick together

LapsedVeganEgg · 24/01/2020 08:25

May I join you? (Regular member not wanting to out herself as pregnant - apologies for uninspired brainfoggy namechange)

I've got 3 DCs already and have only ever had one MC, however I'm also almost 43 with a number of hugely complex medical issues - really, I kind of break all the risk algorithms, and I am so nervous.

8+0 today and trying to decide whether or not a private scan would help.

My brain is mashed because I have spent the last few days applying for a job that I know I would only be able to manage of I miscarry.

SunStruck · 24/01/2020 08:50

@avocuddles symptoms, I had bad cramps before I tested positive (might be implantation - I thought period was coming). Now I don't feel a thing (stomach wise), but my boobs have grown and are sore. Am also very tired, and need to wee more.

My first MMC, I started feeling really nauseous at 5.5 weeks and boobs very painful (and massive - grown by 2 inches) around the 7-8 week mark. These symptoms continued even after confirmed mmc so I really don't trust my body when it comes to these things!

Sunflower1608 · 24/01/2020 09:15

@Avocuddles tender boobs, grumpy, bloated, cinnamon and raisin bagels have never tasted so good, back ache, nippy and full sinuses, absolutely exhausted (went to bed at 7pm last night) combined with some early morning insomnia.

@Pugmum19 with my DS I had a huge bleed at a similar stage, it was horrific and ended up getting taken to hospital due to how much blood there was and passing massive clots. I really had to push for a scan because they were adamant it was a miscarriage and I wanted to make sure. Scan showed the sac and the next scan showed a heart beat. The rest of my pregnancy went smoothly.
