Hi,

Starting a thread for ladies in early pregnancy after one or more miscarriages or stillbirths. A safe place to let off steam and hopefully grow healthy rainbows together......

@Knotemma just bookmark the last one you read each time and it moves the bookmark along for you Wink

Knotemma · 22/02/2020 22:56

@Rachael321 are you a wizard???? That's brilliant, will defo be bookmarking as I read from now on 😂

Avocuddles · 22/02/2020 23:01

@HangOnLittleTomato I hope your little tomato is a sticky one and hangs tight for another eight months! Glad you've found your way here, it's such a friendly and supportive group and no questions or concerns are off limits. You're really not that old! I'm a year younger than you but there are plenty of women 40+ on these forums who have had success stories. The first few weeks are the worst by far, I tested early at 3 +3 and it felt like it took forever to reach 4 weeks let alone 5 or 6....feel free to lurk but we'll be thinking of you xx

Re buying things I don't think I'd feel comfort with it until after 20 weeks. Those Star Wars baby gros however are adorable!!!!! The R2D2 one is my favourite....

@Avocuddles oh your dinner sounds amazing, I hope you managed to eat and that you felt better! I managed to eat pork belly (novelty as we live in the Middle East and I LOVE pork), but felt sick after dinner so went straight to bed when I got home. I think it's because I forced myself to eat all the brusselsprouts that came with the dish - I'm trying to eat my 5 a day everyday which is difficult when all I want to eat really is beige food. Anyone else doing this? Now I'm up early for the gym 😴 I'm adamant to not put weight on first trimester (eating more carbs than usual).

@HangOnLittleTomato welcome! As @Avocuddles says, this is such a nice and supportive group! Your MCS/chemicals sound really tough, I'm rooting for the little bean inside!

@Knotemma 😂 about yorkies, hopefully you'll like them again after 12 weeks 😂

@Knotemma @SammiLou2312 I haven't bought anything and won't until after 20 weeks... my first pregnancy that ended in mmc I bouhtt it a baby grow at 8 weeks, customized saying "my grandma (insert name) loves me THIS much!". It arrived at 11 weeks (ordered online) after I've found out about the mmc at 10 weeks. I didn't even open it, just threw it in the back of the wardrobe! So this time I'll definitely not buy anything until then. But that doesn't stop be from looking at pregnancy pillows, bottle sterilizes and breastpumps 😂 just not buying.

@tmc14 well done, so impressed! I hate running, could not do that 😓

HangOnLittleTomato · 23/02/2020 07:24

Thank you for the lovely welcome everyone.

Jumping straight into the TMI convo before I retreat back into denial - every pregnancy that’s progressed past CP has come with a deluge of exciting dampness from pretty much the positive test and continuing all the way through, same again this time which makes me think I’m in it for the slightly longer haul perhaps.

TunnocksTcake · 23/02/2020 10:19

@HangOnLittleTomato welcome, I was reluctant to join any convos so early on so I know how you feel, but feel free to lurk until you feel more confident. fingers crossed for you and a sticky bean.

@SammiLou2312 @knotemma I probably won't even look at anything until after 12 weeks earliest! Although when I go to Asda and see the cute baby grows it is sooo hard not to. My DH would LOVE those Star Wars ones, I think I saw them when I was buying for my nephew last year.

I'm having a bad couple of days catastrophising. Not sure if it's just weekends that does it to me because we have no plans at the moment so I have more time to think but I definitely feel less sick and was quite crampy last night and this morning. Boobs hurt when I woke up and I feel moody and stuff so symptoms not 100% gone. Been feeling a bit 'better' for a couple of days now I suppose. I'm 8 weeks now so hoping it's all stretching and I'm just having a couple of days off from feeling sick 🤞🏻🤞🏻🤞🏻🤞🏻 eugh. I know we've had this convo loads of times and it's most likely nothing. I'm so so glad I have a scan on Thursday, we're due to go see DHs family the next day as we didn't make it up there for Xmas due to the last mc so I think a part of me feels like we're tempting fate making plans so soon after a scan... ridiculous I know. Must stay busy today, I WILL go to the gym!

Ps I also have LOADS of CM but keep thinking it's blood not pee 🙄

Treaclepie19 · 23/02/2020 10:21

@TunnocksTcake I'm the same! 8 weeks today and feeling much less nauseous. I'm freaking out a bit too. Also quite crampy.

I'm not buying anything for a while this time. Last time I didn't either until about 20 weeks but it's hard seeing the little baby grows hanging never to be worn.

Knotemma · 23/02/2020 10:40

@TunnocksTcake I understand what you mean about having plans after a scan. My 12 weeks one is the day taking mum to the theatre for her Christmas present. Not really ideal planning but that's the date I was given.

Even though I know it's too early if I could make the Gap website work I would definitely be buying the R2D2 onsie, but for the moment that will have to wait.

DH hasn't left for work yet and is already having a bad day, bloody WhatsApp is going mad with work messages and he just never seems to get a break. So I'm hiding out in the bedroom to avoid his wrath, I really feel for him but I just can't be chewed today.

Sunflower1608 · 23/02/2020 11:21

I had a few days last week where my nausea abated and felt loads better. But since yesterday I've been quite sick, and today got horrific tummy ache. I'm trying not to panic about it, but it worries me retching so much in case it's hurting something inside

Nooodles · 23/02/2020 12:45

@Sunflower1608 for my first pregnancy I was so sick the whole way through - my poor tummy muscles were a wreck and always ached, but baby was fine. :) I was reassured that half the reason I felt so crappy was because the baby was taking all the nutrients and I was left with the leftovers. 🤣 Which oddly made me feel better, I hope it does you too... xxx

TunnocksTcake · 23/02/2020 12:49

Thanks ladies it's reassuring to know I'm not alone. It's so frustrating there is no way to know unless you have a scan, feels wrong that we don't know what's happening in our own bodies!

Knotemma · 23/02/2020 20:06

I made a massive food related mistake and got completely over confident. I thought a mild curry (which I really fancied) might go down nicely. I've been so I'll for the last hour 🤦 I'm an idiot and I won't be making that mistake again

Rachael321 · 23/02/2020 20:11

Has anyone had problems with dry skin at all? My face is the worst, it's soooooo dry and tight, skin flaking off my forehead when I rub it! Rest of me not much better!!

@knotemma oh no,nothing worse especially when you're just getting an appetite back and you know how much you wanted that food!! Hope you feel better soonFlowers

Knotemma · 23/02/2020 20:46

@Rachael321 my skin is awful. I've found the Lush skin oil is helping a bit. I'd guess it probably just needs all the help it can get. A nice overnight mask might help?

TunnocksTcake · 24/02/2020 09:18

@Rachael321 my face skin is actually the best it's ever been, but a bit discoloured and red in places. My body however is sooo sooo dry, especially my shins.
Nausea has returned this morning so feeling better today. also only 3 days til next scan which is a much more manageable amount of time to wait until we know either way.

Avocuddles · 24/02/2020 09:57

Morning ladies! Just had my scan and am so relieved to see that baby has done some major growing in the past fortnight and fully caught up with my dates so am measuring exactly 9 weeks today Smile waiting for my 12 week scan appointment to come through but feeling so happy (for now) that things are looking good.....

OP posts:
SunStruck · 24/02/2020 10:04

@Avocuddles oh such happy news!! I'm relieved for you 😅 I'm sure all will go well at the 12 week scan 🥰

My scan is next week, I'm nervous but hopefully all is well. And then it's only 2 weeks left until the elusive 12 week mark 😧 when are you booking your 12 week scan for? Exactly at 12 weeks?

Rachael321 · 24/02/2020 10:09

So pleased for you @Avocuddles Flowers

After a decent weekend with no sickness and a little nausea was looking good for back to work tomorrow... until I had the worst sleep ever, sick through the night and woke this morning like I've been hit by a bus! Sickline ends today and not able to get dr appointment for today!!! Happy monday eh?

TunnocksTcake · 24/02/2020 10:23

@Avocuddles Yaaaaay!! I am so pleased your scan went well Flowers That's excellent news. I hope you can keep the feeling of relief until the next scan Smile

@SunStruck we just have our 12 week scan allocated to us... the midwives request it at booking in then you get a letter. Im hoping mine will be AT 12 weeks, I'm on holiday the following week. I did go to booking at exactly 8 weeks so hopefully I would have been one of the first people at the same stage as me to request?! May be hopeful thinking haha! I should get my letter any day now...

Oooh @Rachael321 so sorry you had a terrible night. I hope you can get some rest today and feel better soon. Flowers

Treaclepie19 · 24/02/2020 10:24

Lovely news @Avocuddles Smile
My scan is a week on Wednesday. Should be 9+3 by then.

I have a horrible cold and my nausea seems to be disappearing so I'm getting all anxious today again 😩

Knotemma · 24/02/2020 10:56

I've just realised... I'm ten weeks pregnant... That's a quarter of the way there!

@Avocuddles so pleased your scan went well and that the bean has caught up on growth, that's excellent news. After a couple of days if feeling better I'm rough again today too @Rachael321, walked to our local shop because we've had snow so didn't want to drive ... I think I've overdone it and am know trying desperately not to throw up🤦 haven't even managed to put the shopping away.

@TunnocksTcake my midwife asked what day was best for us at the booking appointment and managed to get us a Thursday scan (DH is off on a Thursday so it's best for us with him working away) so there seems to be some wriggle room.

@Treaclepie sorry you're feeling poorly, get wrapped up and take good care of yourself.

Seahawk80 · 24/02/2020 11:16

Hope everyone had a good weekend. We went away for Saturday night which was fun- nice to have a change of scene. DS was a nightmare to get to sleep though! I'm 12 weeks today. Can't quite believe it. Have my scan tomorrow but feel ok about it at the moment.

@Knotemma good news on the scan! I use the bambino mio nappies for DS, not all the time but they are good. Aldi often have them at their baby events for half price or less!

@Avocuddles good luck today. I have everything crossed for you x

Treaclepie19 · 24/02/2020 11:50

Thanks @Knotemma! I've had a busy morning sorting things but I'm so pleased to have our new kitchen floor ordered!
Going to chill on the sofa with my 4yo this afternoon.

Hope it eases off for you! It's so easy to think you'll be okay. 1/4 way there is brilliant!!

SammiLou2312 · 24/02/2020 13:35

Just had a really great scan. Am 10+1 today, baby is measuring 10+2 and was waving at us. Specialist was so pleased with progress so far she has now discharged us from the recurrent miscarriage clinic and we will now be seen under antinatal specialist moving forwards 🥰. Next scan in 12 week one on 12th March when I will be 12+4. Can't wait ☺️

Hope you all are doing well today x

Knotemma · 24/02/2020 13:57

@Sammilou2312 that's amazing news! And we'll be 12 weeks scan buddies which is pretty awesome!
