Hi,

Starting a thread for ladies in early pregnancy after one or more miscarriages or stillbirths. A safe place to let off steam and hopefully grow healthy rainbows together......

@Knotemma great news about the scan x

@seaduck welcome, & yes @Hagster exactly the same! We don’t talk about it except about when upcoming scans/booking in are. Treating it like work meetings I think! I’m not planning for it, I’m not overly pessimistic, I think I’m just ignoring it. We haven’t told anyone yet, I’m seeing my folks in a couple of weeks so might tell them if the scan next week goes well.

I’m off to run a 10k today... full of cold and my toddler is poorly but I’ve had quite a lot of sponsorship so have to go & do it!! Will probably walk some as don’t want to push myself, and then treat myself to a nice lunch 😁

Hope you’ve all got lovely weekend plans x

SunStruck · 22/02/2020 07:47

Congratulations on your scans ladies! 😍 so relieved for you!

I'm feeling so nauseous now, I can barely move from my horizontal position on the sofa 🤢 we have relatives over and staying with us, have to go out for dinner every night... trying to choose food that won't make me 🤮 it's difficult.

How's everyone else feeling?

On another note, is anyone showing yet? I know it's super early but still, I guess everyone's different. I'm not, I wonder when I will (if all goes well!). I read I. Another thread the ladies there didn't show until 20 weeks with their first, so got a while to go if that will apply to me too ☺️

TunnocksTcake · 22/02/2020 08:00

@tmc14 good luck on your run! You are a stronger woman than I am I could NOT do that right now! Hopefully the thought of lunch can get you through.

@SunStruck I'm veerrrryyy bloated so feel like I'm showing but obviously know it's all bloat at this stage! I only have one pair of jeans that used to be my fat jeans that I can do up now. Dh even charmingly said the other night I look the same just fat around the middle and enormous boobs! 🙄 lucky for him I wasn't feeling too hormonal at that time. I can't even breathe it in anymore!

Aria2015 · 22/02/2020 09:34

Hi all, just trying to catch up. Congratulations to everyone who had positive scans. Lovely to hear.

I went to the doctors yesterday and I have a virus. I've felt so crappy and been running a temperature. I'm signed off for the week to rest. I'm just really worried because I've felt so ill, it's hard not to imagine it damaging the baby. Also my sickness has subsided so although I feel ill from the virus, I don't feel any pregnancy symptoms. It's so rubbish because I felt positive and happy straight after my scan Thursday but then came down with this within hours. Now I keep imagining going to my next scan in 2 weeks and them finding the baby died shortly after the first scan because I was so ill Sad.

BS9790 · 22/02/2020 09:36

Did my first digital today, on the day AF would of been due. Got 2-3 weeks (in Spanish 😂) which I'm pleased about as was expecting it to show 1-2 weeks as was thinking my lines werent dark enough

I'm 4.3 by my dates 😊

Knotemma · 22/02/2020 10:43

@Aria2015 sorry that you're so poorly. Your body is an amazing thing and you probably feel so poorly because it's putting everything into looking after the bean. Remember that I haven't eaten anything substantial in nearly 3 weeks but ours has managed to grow as expected. I know it's hard to feel positive when you're do poorly, but please try not to beat yourself up. You're doing everything in your control to help this go well.

@BS9790 congratulations on you BFP. Good news that you've got a nice strong positive, everything crossed for you!

Sunflower1608 · 22/02/2020 11:30

@SunStruck I've got a definite bump going 🙈
I'm quite slim and small built, it's my 4th pregnancy and it's twins. So think my body remembers what's going on and has kicked into 4 months pregnant straight away 🤣

Aria2015 · 22/02/2020 11:38

@Knotemma thanks. I'll try not to worry and just concentrate on getting better. I hope my nausea comes back soon to make me feel more reassured!

Nooodles · 22/02/2020 13:45

Hey ladies, hope you’re all well :)

TMI moment - but I just went to the loo and had a wet patch in my knickers, I’m fairly sure I hadn’t peed (although maybe I’m wrong!!), and after some googling it seems likely to be extra discharge rather than amniotic fluid ... but still, as ever, it’s worrying me a bit. Anyone ever had similar? I’m 9 weeks now.

I’ve definitely got a wee bump too - it took until about 16 weeks for me to show with my first! Definitely showing much quicker this time :)

@tmc14 I’m in awe of your 10k.. good luck :)

Xxx

SammiLou2312 · 22/02/2020 14:14

@nooodles you are not alone believe me. It's apparently normal. A mixture of discharge, sweat and possible pee lol...I'm having to revert to wearing panty liners every day. Apparently cotton underwear can help too...the joys of pregnancy 😂

seaduck · 22/02/2020 14:58

@Nooodles I have 2 children, and in late pregnancy I had this. So much I had to go get myself checked out it wasn't waters both times. It was just discharge. I know youre only 9 weeks but I think it can be normal in pregnancy. No one I know in real life has mentioned this!

seaduck · 22/02/2020 15:05

Lovely community midwife who has overseen all my pregnancies called me to say she'd seen I'd booked in but she was on leave on that day and wanted to fit me in when she was there rather than have a random cover do it. She also offered to get me into EPU for an early scan. So booking appt is next week rather than 3 weeks. Feels a bit more real!

SammiLou2312 · 22/02/2020 15:13

That's great news @seaduck

Knotemma · 22/02/2020 15:18

@Seaduck that's brilliant hopefully that will help give you some reassurance.

@Nooodles I had this the other day... While throwing up🤦 I was fairly confident I hadn't wet myself and some investigation revealed it's to be discharge. I think it's maybe worse when you've been sitting for a while too and then get up and move around? Still just another thing for us to freak out about. My symptoms seem to have completely changed over the last 2 days, still have a bit of nausea but back to having an appetite and wanting allllll of the food. I suppose it's to be expected that I'm hungry after 3 weeks of bread and noodles 🤦. Still have the awful pennies taste and plenty of weird aversions (I've completely gone off coffee, which is upsetting because I normally drink about 8 cups of decaf a day, and I now seem to be going off decaf tea too). Luckily I still have symptoms, they're just different. Hopefully I can get some strength back and get back to work later this week. Long may the new batch of weird symptoms continue 😂

Avocuddles · 22/02/2020 16:03

@Nooodles I've had damp patches on a number of occasions - apparently it's normal for discharge to ramp up from around 8 weeks though it's disconcerting nonetheless.....

Definitely no bump here at almost 9 weeks - if anything my jeans are a bit looser as it seems I've lost a little weight. It's definitely not due to lack of food but I've been off the alcohol for two months which I guess might help. I was at least a stone overweight to start with so not necessarily a bad thing....my boobs however are bigger than ever!

@BS9790 @Givemethegin congrats on your pregnancies! As you can see above you've joined a group where any question is very very welcome - we're all in the same scary boat and hoping for lots of rainbows later in the year!

@Aria2015 I hope that you shake off the virus soon, it's miserable being under the weather and not allowed to dose up! I'm also worrying a lot about my next scan, but try to stay as positive as you can and hopefully you'll get a reassuring result.

@SunStruck hope the nausea has subsided a bit and you're able to enjoy some food this evening. I'm just setting off to a Japanese restaurant before a gig - had been feeling nervous because the nausea had disappeared this morning but it's deciding to rear it's head now - hopefully lots of gyozas and ramen will sort it out!

@tmc14 well done on the 10k, you put me to shame, I wouldn't be able to walk that far let alone contemplate running!

@Knotemma my DH is from Boro and the in laws are all up there! Glad you've had a positive scan experience, it sounds a world away from the private scan I had during my last pregnancy and makes me feel more comfortable with the idea of having one again if necessary.

@Hagster I'm definitely with you in terms of feeling detached, i still feel unable to consider the fact that we could bring a baby home later this year. I'm hoping that if Monday's scan goes well I might be able to start feeling a little more optimistic. We'll wait and see.....

Evening all, welcome and congrats to all the newcomers!!

Has anyone started to buy anything? Or when are you planning to start?

I'm 14+3, also getting married next march so in the midst of wedding planning so feel i need to be mega organised!!

Knotemma · 22/02/2020 18:28

@Rachael321 I haven't bought anything yet but have started looking and also have stuck a few bits onto a private Amazon wishlist to look at more further down the line. I want to try and go for reusable stuff as much as possible and have been doing washable nappy research for what feels like forever 😂. I've also added random stuff like breast pads and wipes... Not the fun cute stuff, more the boring things that's I'll need to consider all being well.

I have to admit though, the best vests came up on a Facebook ad today and I think I might have to buy them. They're from baby Gap and are starwars themed... We're both massive nerds and I think we might need them. I've attached them because who doesn't need to see adorable star wars themed baby clothes 🤦😂.

We've been out for tea tonight, which was quite a big deal, and I've managed quite a decent amount of carvery which was exciting... The fact that I no longer like Yorkshire puddings is however a problem and I think that bean and I need to have serious words 😂.

I hope you've all had a nice chilled out Saturday and that you've managed to avoid all the horrible weather xx

SammiLou2312 · 22/02/2020 18:29

@rachael321 I've wanted to buy so many cute babygrows as do some of my family that we told but have promised ourselves that we won't get anything until after 12 weeks to be safe. Not sure when we will look into bigger stuff like furniture but I suffer from anxiety at the best of times so will prob want to get organised as quickly as possible just so I know it's all done lol x

tmc14 · 22/02/2020 19:15

@TunnocksTcake @Avocuddles @Nooodles thank you, I was very slow but I did it, & raised £400 for Tommy’s from my lovely friends & family so feeling pretty good! Obviously I panicked half way round that I was damaging the baby and had to tell myself to stop being stupid, and on topic, thought I’d wet myself a bit but was watery discharge! Ha. Pregnancy is so attractive.

@Rachael321 I’ve been storing all my sons stuff in the loft so we have most things already... I don’t think I’ll buy anything new until after 20 weeks, if I get that far. Just don’t want to tempt fate! Which is silly but hey 🤷🏻‍♀️

@bananamuffin99 I hope you’re having an amazing wedding day! And that you don’t see this message until at least tomorrow...

I’m sat on the sofa eating chocolate. Hope you’re all having lovely Saturday evenings x

Rachael321 · 22/02/2020 20:09

@knotemma they are cute!!, glad you managed a decent carvery!! Shane about the yorkie though!

@SammiLou2312 I'm the same I like to be organised but dont want to do too much too soon, it's like tempting fate!

@tmc14 that's good you've already got stuff, makes it a bit easier then. I know what you mean about tempting fate!!

Have bought a few things this week. A couple of wee outfits (white as not finding out the sex) and cot sheets in Asda for £3 a pair as they have discontinued them!
Passed the pram centre today and went in "for a look" Blush fell in love with one. Went for lunch and went back to the pram shop on way home and paid the deposit!! Will be delivered to the store 6 weeks before my due date!
Walking out I had butterflies in my stomach, cant quite believe it.

LilMrsS · 22/02/2020 20:31

Does anyone else think there jinxin it by buying or looking at stuff.. we have a pram stored in the house hidden away we bought it ages ago but now I think I've jinxed myself ! Ha wish I wasn't so superstitious! I even now have an outfit planned for my 12wk scan as I wore it to my 7wk scan and all was well.. I love looking at baby stuff though totally hope I can just buy everything! I love these sleepyhead deluxe pods seen a few friends who have them lovely things.

HangOnLittleTomato · 22/02/2020 21:16

Hello ladies. More likely to lurk than join in at the moment but would like to lurk officially if I may.

37 (38 next month) - been ttc DC#4 since this time last year, MMC at 8 weeks, CP, MMC at 10 weeks and then CP. Got a positive FRER confirmed by digi last week and currently in total denial. DH has said he doesn’t want to try again if this one doesn’t work out, so all hopes pinned on the microscopic contents of my uterus right now. Nothing like a bit of extra pressure eh?

I’m probably only just 4 weeks, so stupidly early to even consider myself pregnant. I’ve started on aspirin but won’t be able to muster any positivity until I’m safely past 10 weeks. I’ve lost seven pregnancies all in, three were past the 8 week mark and had seen/heard heartbeats, plus I’m relatively old, so I’m pretty downbeat about my chances of getting to that magic 12 week mark unscathed.

Anyway - I recognise some names from the huddle thread - lovely to see you here. I’ve namechanged but if my info sounds familiar it’s because I’ve haunted the various huddles on and off! I’ll probably go back to lurking now, but I may pop in again if this one looks like it’s going to stick around for a few weeks at least...

Good wishes to all.

Nooodles · 22/02/2020 21:58

@SammiLou2312 @Knotemma @seaduck @Avocuddles Thanks so much for your TMI sharing too, it has really made me feel a lot better :) the joys of pregnancy, huh!! Thank you all. This thread is just amazing. ✌🏼💛

I haven’t bought anything for bubby yet and probably won’t for a while .. I wanted to buy a hypnobirthing book as it’s on offer on amazon, but couldn’t bring myself to. So I’ll probably pay double for it in a few weeks. 🤣

Midwife appointment on Monday, and I’ve booked a private scan for next Saturday. I’ll be 10 and a half weeks - pretty much when I MC last time - so it’s really just a massive reassurance scan (I hope). 💛

Got everything crossed for you @HangOnLittleTomato 💛

And @Knotemma I’m deeply concerned by your aversion to Yorkshire puddings 🥴🤣🤣

Nooodles · 22/02/2020 21:59

PS - 35 pages in and I’ve only just discovered the “bookmark” feature 🤪👍🏼

Knotemma · 22/02/2020 22:29

@Nooodles this bean doesn't like coffee (even the smell makes be heave) or yorkies... Honestly I'm surprised DH hasn't questioned whether it's really ours (he's a coffee and Yorkshire fiend, when we go to MIL's for Sunday dinner she makes at least 12 extra for him)
I accidentally bookmarked my own lost on a out page 23 and now I get taken there every time I load up 😂 no idea how to remove it.

Fingers crossed everything goes well on Monday with the midwife and you get to have a lovely sit back and relax scan on Saturday x
