Your feet grow and stay that size.

hungrywalrus · 06/01/2020 20:21

You can end up with a lot more snot than usual. Very annoying when trying to sleep.

JustaScratch · 06/01/2020 20:21

You're more likely to get painful cramps in your legs and feet.

Foxd0g · 06/01/2020 20:22

You develop a nose like a bloodhound. You can't stand a huge array of smells and that actually makes life really bloody irritating. Nausea and sickness can last way into the second trimester! Having a hard time of it Grin

Foxd0g · 06/01/2020 20:22

Oh, and carpal tunnel. Fucking carpal tunnel!

Letsallscreamatthesistene · 06/01/2020 20:23

Oh yeah, the old 'sickness only lasts for the 1st trimester myth'. Im 29 weeks and the nausea is back

Only 8 weeks so a very long way to go and more to learn, but probably how mentally draining it is even at the start

AnneLovesGilbert · 06/01/2020 20:25

Not a single person told me about the heartburn before I was pregnant. Yet when people asked me how I was and I said I was dying of it and couldn’t even drink water without the burn handfuls of women sympathised and said they’d had it badly.

Also the extra hair. Face, neck, belly and lower back. It eventually went again but my goodness.

Dry skin and hair. I used dry heel cream on my flaking cheeks and I only washed my hair once a week.

Letsallscreamatthesistene · 06/01/2020 20:25

@Selfsettling3 wait WHAT!?

vampirethriller · 06/01/2020 20:28

I grew a moustache. Nobody said there would be moustaches.

Foxd0g · 06/01/2020 20:31

@Letsallscreamatthesistene ugh! It's the worst! Everyone I know seems soooo surprised that I'm not 'over' the nausea yet.

I refuse to cook anything ever again. I made lasagne last night. I have all the windows open, the extractor on, and I swear I can still smell it. I refuse to go into my kitchen and I hold my breath if I have to. Am just so bloody sick 🤢

FK2020 · 06/01/2020 20:31

Tiredness DOES NOT ease in second trimester (for me anyway) and it's so hard to get good quality sleep - I slept like a log beforehand!

plixy · 06/01/2020 20:31

Not being able to easily wipe after peeing as you just can't bend that way any more.

The fact it takes half hour to roll over in bed as you are basically a beached whale.

Impossible to put your shoes on without help.

Don't wear skinny jeans as they might get stuck when you can no longer reach your feet to pull them off - thanks mum for helping me with that one 😖

Christmadtree · 06/01/2020 20:33

Heartburn.
Leg cramps.
Going up a shoe size.
Snoring louder than jumbo jets.
Hairy boobs.
Shitting yourself during labour (I actually avoided this one but VERY common and nobody admits it).

StandardLampski · 06/01/2020 20:33

Foot thing can be right... none of my shoes fit after my second Shock

Foxd0g · 06/01/2020 20:34

Ohhh, another one. That the 'pregnancy glow' is a total myth for most of us. What a con!

Beck2277 · 06/01/2020 20:34

Going to the toilet yet still needing the toilet when you leave!

ineedaholidaynow · 06/01/2020 20:35

Wind

user1493413286 · 06/01/2020 20:35

All the random aches and pains plus the hormones that make you hate people but also cry because you’ve been mean to those people

harrypotterfan1604 · 06/01/2020 20:35

That it’s ok to not love being pregnant!
I hated pregnancy, I was sick for months, then got SPD and couldn’t walk which just made my entire pregnancy miserable. And everyone told me I’d miss it but the reality was I couldn’t wait to get the baby out 🤷🏼‍♀️

cattaxi · 06/01/2020 20:36

Hairy belly!

Whatelsecouldibecalled · 06/01/2020 20:36

My feet ache way more than before!

How bad the constipation could be!

FK2020 · 06/01/2020 20:37

@Beck2277 yes!! Always needing a*@Beck2277* yes!!

ShirleyPhallus · 06/01/2020 20:41

The fact that you’ll make weird noises you never thought you would. Odd groans getting off the sofa, constant burps.

It’s really such a sexy time!

pollysproggle · 06/01/2020 20:42

Your periods stop for 9 months yay!

But no one tells you about the 9 months of excessive discharge which replaces your period 😐

'Heightened sense of smell' sounds so romantic. In reality it means your husbands breath when he's sleeping will make you want to suffocate him with a pillow.
