fettle - they are both beautiful ... you must be one proud mummy!!

Bouncingturtle · 24/09/2007 11:18

Fettle - I totally understand how you feel about internal scans, I had to have one when I had by mmc, and I was in tears it was so painful and uncomfortable. Lucky Dh was there to help me through it.
Wonderful news about PLP, Cerys is a really pretty name! So pleased she is now doing well after her rocky start!
Ejt - you holding up okay? Don't you try shifting that piano, mind!
Fingers crossed for Rubles!
MrsMc - that pram sounds fab, any luck finding a cot as yet?
Hello to everyone else!

flosspot · 24/09/2007 11:28

Crikey- you guys look like you are winding up the thread, and here's me just starting!

I finally got a BFP on Friday, after two years of trying, four cycles of Clomid and one mc. It's still very early days, so I'm a bit reluctant to leave the ttc forums, but I was pointed in your direction...

so hello (((flosspot waves))))

MrsMcJnr · 24/09/2007 11:32

Morning all a friend?s baby arrived last night too ? very exciting!

Feedmenow ? sorry to hear about all that itching, it must be really annoying. Glad you?re your mind has been put at rest. Yup, you?ve discovered the bugger that is MS, unlike a hangover and virtually any other condition, being sick doesn?t actually take the nausea away!

Hey Fettle - how was last night and how is Toby?s eye? He is so gorgeous and your DD looks so proud

Ejt ? yeah for the headboard we are off to Spain to see my parents. We last saw them at 14 weeks so quite a bit has changed in the last 10 weeks! Have a productive day thanks for posting PLP?s news

Congratulations PLP!

Glimmer ? we wanted to wait a bit longer but there is at least an 8 week lead time on the buggy, maybe more and with Christmas and the possibility of the baby coming early, we thought we?d better get on with it.

Rubles pressure?s on hon!

Hey Bouncing ? My sis has found a cot in Ikea for £29.99 but I?m still thinking about what kind of ?bed? is best in our circumstances really!

EllieG · 24/09/2007 11:36

Hello flosspt ((((waves back)))) welcome here!

daisyandbabybootoo · 24/09/2007 11:38

fettle...beautiful children! and I'm liking the name change, LOL

i had no idea about PLP...sounds like she's had a bit of a tough time of it, bu good to see her dd is doing better now.

it is so hard to keep up with this thread these days.

i hope all the new bubs are doing well....and mums as well

babyboo is getting her 1st passport soon (dh was at the passport office this morning), and our DS, who was registered wth my surname as DH and I were kind of estranged at the time of his birth, has had his surname changed on his birth certificate to DHs.....we are now officially a family unit!

Janus · 24/09/2007 11:41

Can I join you all? I had a mc two years ago now and I'm nearly 7 weeks pg and soooo nervous. I managed to have an early scan on Friday and there was a little bean with a heartbeat, I cried! However, every day seems like an eternity. Last time I had a missed mc so this is all driving me nuts as I had no signs last time, just went for the normal 12 week scan to find it had died at around 8 weeks. I'm analysing every twinge, pain, do I still fell pregnant, etc. I feel pretty dreadful all day (not that I'm complaining!) and this is a good sign I think but wonder how you get through the days to reach the magic 12 week scan.
I see quite a few names I recognise and see Rubles is very imminent, best of luck Rubles if you're not already there!

becklespeckle · 24/09/2007 11:58

Morning all, hope you've had a good weekend!

Congrats to Mumpy on the birth of Joseph Alexander! Lovely name but very fast delivery! Glad he is here safely though .

Ejt, things sounding promising for you and you are certainly busy at the moment - could that be nesting?!

Fettle, glad Toby's eye is getting better, you sound so much in love with him too! Of course we are interested in your pictures - both your DCs are gorgeous!

FMN, sorry to hear you are so itchy, hopefully it is just the change of washing liquid. Sounds like what you have been feeling is movement too, it is possible to feel it as early as you are!

MrsMc, congrats on your buggy! I spent a fortune on my first buggy (a Mamas and Papas one which was all the rage when DS1 was born) and never regretted it. I do a lot of walking usually so it really covered some miles and was a great pushchair to push. I love the buggy I have now too for the same reasons.

PurpleLostPrincess, so glad your DD is here safely and doing well after a rocky start. Cerys is a beautiful name, one of my faves!

Hi Flosspot and welcome to the thread, there are plenty of people on here not 'winding up' yet. That is the beauty of this thread, we are all at different stages but all know a bit of what the others are going through, it is invaluable for support and we get hope from all the happy endings too.

Welcome to Janus too, glad you have had a good scan! IMHO the best way to get through those awful first 12 weeks is to keep talking, we'll all be here to support and reassure you.

Welcome to NH101 too and all other new guys - lovely to see you all on here, hope your stays will be long and uneventful!

Hi to everyone else, hope you are all healthy and well x

Uki · 24/09/2007 12:46

MUMP- CONGRATULATIONS your birth sounds outrageously quick and exciting. Did you get the sirens on???? LOL WELL DONE

FETTLE - CONGRATULATIONS and welcome toby, he is gorgeous

Janus - welcome, yes some of us have finished up, like me and some close, but you'll get loads of support here, and then we all move over to the success after m/c thread. Good luck and try and enjoy your pg

PLP- CONGRAT'S To you and your early arrival.
I tried to find your birth announcement on the Sept, but crikey that thread's busier and fuller than the london underground. i'm in what a thread and a half. hope your both well.

LL is still feeding like a champ, he really seems to love his mummy, always stops crying as soon as he hears my voice and looks for me, if i'm not holding him.

GOOD LUCK to Rubles

Welcome and congrats to Flosspot and Janus. I know you feel like you are facing some long, hard, trying few weeks ahead of you until you get to 12weeks. Just take each day one day at a time, and remember that everyone here knows how you feel. Moan, cry and panic all you like!
Janus, my last pg was very similar to yours by the sounds of it. we paid for a private scan at 11 weeks cos I was so impatient, to discover the bubba had died at 8+2. I am now 14+6 and have managed to relax loads since my 12 week scan (although had 2 private scans before that as well!. I also keep finding new things to worry about, but everyone here is so supportive that I feel like much less of a paranoid idiot!
Flosspot, the way I handled the early days of pg and not knowing which thread to hang out on was to just stick here. I didn't feel I could stay on TTC cos I felt I'd be almost rubbing their noses in it, but I certainly couldn't have contemplated going to an a/n thread! Stay here with us.....

Mrsmc, have you considered a Natures nest? Having had 2 rubbish sleepers in the past, I am determined that I will do ANYTHING to aid the sleep pattern and quality for this one.

MrsMcJnr · 24/09/2007 12:57

Flosspot crossed with you ? fabulous!!! congratulations! No winding up going on here, there are babies well into the middle of next year! how are you feeling hon? Take it easy now!

Back later x

feedmenow- natures nest great until your kid moves and decides he wants to stand up in the middle of the night. My godson fell out of his trying to do just that and now his mum is having to rethink the nursery!!!

Thanks MrsMcJ. Good to see you too.

Thanks for the welcome everyone else. Could I just ask if cramping is normal for the first couple of weeks. I had it first time round- but am so terrified of everything this time, I just thought I'd check with the experts!

spugs · 24/09/2007 13:18

ive cramped with all of mine, still get the odd twinge now its just everything stretching and baby burrowing in. congrats on bfp

EllieG · 24/09/2007 14:17

Janus - you are very welcome here. Your experience sounds similar to mine - didn't have many PG symptoms (still don't this time) and then had MMC at 12 weeks where baby had died at 8. Also cried ALL way through early scan.
Have just been sent a date for my 12 (though will be 13weeks) week scan and is on 9th OCt - not sure how am gonna survive til then! Keep poking my boobs to make sure they still hurt, which of course they do, cos I keep poking them.

EllieG · 24/09/2007 14:18

Oh and flosspot, I had loads of cramps in first few weeks with this one, and was all fine at 9 weeks. Don;t worry too much x

nh101 · 24/09/2007 14:47

I rang the EPU this morning and they have booked me in for a scan at seven weeks (three weeks from today) and told me to go in earlier if I have any bleeding or pain that is not like period pains. I have a bit of backache but am not suffering the same awful constipation I had last time (although that was at about seven weeks). I also have a bit of indigestion but I think that is because I am eating more than usual (all healthy stuff though of course!)

Have I got your date right Flosspot?

flosspot · 24/09/2007 15:13

nh- depends on which website I look- anything from MAy 28 (my brother's birthday) to 1 June....

EllieG · 24/09/2007 16:16

People keep noticing I have a bump today - think am looking a bit porky

nh101 · 24/09/2007 17:02

Well you have good reason to! How many weeks are you now Ellie? I am already feeling really bloated and I am 4+0!

flosspot · 24/09/2007 17:10

could someone please explain the 4+0 thing????

flosspot · 24/09/2007 17:10

Oh, and EllieG- you look fab from where I am!!!

fettleandbabyfettle · 24/09/2007 17:19

4+0 = 4 weeks, no days, since 1st day of last period. Therefore, you are 2 weeks pregnant the day you conceive!
