Afternoon all! Pleased to see that there are lots of positive scan results on here! Excellent news! Am just going to post quickly as I have to go out, but the bile levels in my blood haven't changed so we're sticking with the consultant appointment next Thursday and I still reckon they will recommend induction asap. So Fettle will beat me to it by a couple of days! Hope all is well with you, Fettle, today.

I really hope none of you get this OC thing. It's horrendous! I feel like a cat with fleas and the itching is keeping me awake at night. I was half hoping this morning they'd tell me that my levels had gone through the roof so the baby could be induced, but probably better to get the extra week in as there is not much going on in the way of contractions at the moment...

Sorry to be really brief, but hope everyone is doing well and will try to post properly over the weekend - when ds is asleep probably...

AnguaVonUberwald · 14/09/2007 15:51

MrsMc - its the 12th of June - but we thought - based on the fact that I have varied cycles - that we were due around 25th March - so considerably earlier than expected. ~At least it means the LO is growing!

Bouncingturtle · 14/09/2007 15:55

Hello Rubles!!! Lovely to hear from you and that you are well.
Mumpbump - sorry you are suffering with the OC, is it like GD, i.e. will cure itself after you have given birth? Or can it be only treated after the baby's born? Must be driving you stir crazy
MrsMc - your HR dept. is obviously more efficient than mine, haven't had a letter to confirm my start and end dates.
I have found out that I can suspend my student loan payments during ML which is a big bonus! I only started paying it back this year as well, despite graduating in 1996!!!! My DH has paid his back and he graduated 2 years after me - but then he started paying his back straight away rather than do what I did which was to wait until I was over the earnings threshhold.

Mumpbump · 14/09/2007 16:00

Hi Bouncing! It will cure itself after the baby is born, but is horrendous! I know there are a few ladies on my antenatal thread with really bad spd - like EJT - so I'm really pretty lucky that this is all I'm having to endure, but it doesn't make it any easier!

Fettle - if you're around, have you got any tips from the "old hand" on how to cope with the itching? Put my feet in a bucket of cold water last night and that helped for a while...

Bouncingturtle · 14/09/2007 16:09

Then I am very lucky - my only problems are stiffness in hips and back and heartburn - just chronic with it atm, but still a lot better off than some ladies!

ejt1764 · 14/09/2007 17:08

I dunno Mumpbump - I think the itching sounds pretty horrendous too ... would rather have the spd ... (can't believe I just wrote that! )

bouncing - the heartburn is yuk! I've found that milkshakes are pretty good for getting rid of it ...

well, I've starting taking raspberry leaf capsules this afternoon as recommended by the acupuncturist this morning ... and now I have crampy pains - like niggly period pains ... have taken some paracetemol and put my TENS machine on (lower pads only) ... could this be it?

becklespeckle · 14/09/2007 17:10

Finally got to speak to my MW this afternoon! I am popping in to see her on Monday morning to collect my MATB1, apparently they like to see you, and also fill out more paperwork for the maternity exemption certificate again (mine hasn't arrived for some reason!). I spoke briefly to her about hip/pelvis pain and she says it is likely to be SPD causing it and she will give me a leaflet on things I can do to ease it. She said that everything will be much weaker this time as I have had 2 big babies and am likely to be having a 3rd big one (there's something to look forward to!). She also said the pressure is probably causing the swelling below too although that could be varicose veins (nice!).

becklespeckle · 14/09/2007 17:11

x-posts Ejt - how exciting! Keep us updated...

torres · 14/09/2007 18:03

ejt- sounds very promising

beckle- spd doesn't sound nice at all you poor thing, hope her leaflet gives you something helpful!

mrsmc- hello yes, next scan is on 25th so a day after we get back- I am hoping the holiday will be a good distraction. Statrted to feel quite sick today so am feeling more positive. I think your plan for your EDD is a beautiful way to remember Ava.

spugs- lucky you to have lived in the Lakes (well not actually in a lake)- it is so beautiful there. I find it good for the spirits (or 'good for the balls' as DH insists). We're staying in a cottage in Windermere but are hring a car so we can explore.

Talking of which must dash to pick it up.

Good luck to those with impending births. wishing you all the best xxx

becklespeckle · 14/09/2007 18:10

Advice MW gave over the phone was to keep legs together and not do too much. Hmm, that should be easy with 2 DSs to look after! Still not convinced as the pain doesn't seem as bad as others have with it - it is more making certain movements akward than anything.

Anyway, hope you have a lovely weekend away and the date is not too hard on you Torres, Windermere is beautiful and will make the time until your scan pass quicker. Reassuring that you're starting to feel sick too!
Is a lovely thing you have planned for Ava's due date too MrsMc.

fettleandminifettle · 14/09/2007 18:39

Hi everyone

Have to be really quick - DD upstairs in bath with DH and lots of screaming!!!

Rubles - lovelyto see you - glad move going well.

Mumpy - itching is a hard one, as nothing really helps. A wet towel wrapped around your feet to keep them cool while in bed can help - I just got some aqueous cream with menthol in it, which makes your skin really cold and takes your mind off the itching for a while. it is great news that your bile acids haven't gone up as they are the dangerous part of this. I've heard nothing following my blood tests yesterday, so assuming we're still on for Tuesday. Got another baby monitoring session tomorrow morning. But have tos ay it's my SPD that's giving me grief - so hope that this pain goes as soon as the baby is born!!!

Take care all

Hopefully back later to catch up properly -once I've solved world war 3 upstairs!!!
xxx

feedmenow · 14/09/2007 19:35

Good lord, you lot have been busy!

Tried to read all posts but ds and dd keep interrupting me so I'm just posting a quickie!

Mom, wonderful news! I bet you feel so relieved now.

Ellie and Daisy, it is sertraline that I take. As explained, my knowledgable friend assured me that it was fine. And Ellie, re having new gp, as Daisy said it may be worth a referral. Or it may just be worth you saying no to them!

Fettle, hope you have a relaxing, strength building weekend! Just think, you'll be able to see your feet again by this time next week (and hopefully even sooner!)!!!

fettleandminifettle · 14/09/2007 19:43

Thanks Feedmenow - that thought of seeing my feet again has actally cheered me up no-end!!!!!!

ejt1764 · 14/09/2007 20:12

Bouncingturtle · 14/09/2007 20:49

Ejt - yes I normally gave a milkshake on a night time, that really helps!
So excitement is over now?

MerlinsBeard · 14/09/2007 21:19

fettleandminifettle · 15/09/2007 15:11

still hanging on til Tuesday - liver enzymes up, but not too much - had't done my bile acids yet, so they are being done today. Hospital will ring if they've gone up, otherwise, not going back until Tuesday morning for induction!! Not long now!!

Off for a sleep now, while DH and DD have gone swimming - got to build up my energy for Tuesday!! Getting very excited now!!!!

ejt - how you doing today? Any more pains??

take care all and have great weekends!!

MerlinsBeard · 15/09/2007 15:20

tick tock

EllieG · 15/09/2007 16:52

Hey all - was reading posts and got all excited about ejt but then it calmed down. Thought a sproglet was on the way!
torres - hope you are having a lovely weekend x

Me and DP have just had the MOTHER of all rows - is all sorted now but has been rumbling for some time. Involved me crying LOTS and him saying (not like this but basically) that I am irritable old sow and not chilled out enough with DSD and me howling lots and saying that I felt that I couldn't get it right ever and that I am feeling really low what with mood/work/worry/medication etc and that he is the only person who does not seem to see this and give me a bit of a break. (which is unfair because he is lovely really). Has ended fine now - I am going to try and chill out more with DSD and not feel like I have to be perfect, he is going to not be as defensive of her (cos sometimes it feels like it's OK for him to tell her off for something, but not for me )and will be a bit more understanding of how I am feeling and perhaps pick up more of the slack. But I have to tell him when am feeling shitty and not expect him to be a mind-reader.
Is much better now, and all sorted, but am exhausted now. Please tell me I will not be like this all the way through PG!
My therapist said they might refer me to the peri-natal mental health nurse for assessment. Not sure what she does though.

Sorry for long moany post. Hope everyone is having nice weekends, fettle, have everything crossed for you for tues!
