Are your children’s vaccines up to date?
fettleandminifettle · 08/09/2007 19:58

I wonder which of the 4 of us will get there first!! But having said that we've not heard from Grande Dame Rubles since the day of her move!!! She is either buried under boxes still, has no internet connection yet, or the lugging of boxes started her labour off!! She is due the day before me, I think from memory!

fettleandminifettle · 08/09/2007 20:01

Oops - just scrolled down and seen there are 5 of us due within 2 weeks of each other. Purplelostprincess, has anyone heard from her recently? (I may have missed a post while I was working too hard! so lovely to be on maternity leave!!)
Then Rubles, me, Mumpbump and Ejt.

cazzybabs · 08/09/2007 22:15

I very rarely post on here, but I am now 28 weeks.

Out of interest how many of you still remember your mc. My 1st i don't really remember - just all the blood, but the 2nd I remember so clearly. All the bleeding, when it started, passing the bits - do you think I will ever forget it? When the db is born will that help?

becklespeckle · 08/09/2007 23:19

I don't think you ever forget Cazzy but it gets fuzzy with time IYKWIM? My first was over 8 years ago and although I remember how I felt mentally I don't remember all the physical details anymore. The ones last year are much more fresh. After the first I found that having my DS1 really helped me to deal with it all - gave me something positive to focus on (and not much free time to dwell).

Bouncingturtle · 09/09/2007 08:10

Yes I agree with Beckle, sometimes when I read of others'experiences it kind of takes me back, but time has blunted the awful pain that I felt when it happened.
I've only just noticed as well we've not heard from Rubles or PLP for some time I hope they are are okay and just too busy to post

EllieG · 09/09/2007 08:26

My baby would have been due today

fettleandminifettle · 09/09/2007 09:05

Hugs EllieG {{{{HUGS}}} Focus on healthy and well!!!

Re: previous mc memories - Agree with others, don't think you will ever forget, but the pain will get better. I'll never forget the picture on the scan, the day they couldn't find a heartbeat - that's for sure!

xxx

Bouncingturtle · 09/09/2007 09:07

Awww Ellie {{{{hugs}}}}, understandable you feel sad, but keep focussing on your little one. I think we need MrsMc's poem again - has anyone saved a copy of it?

gingercat12 · 09/09/2007 10:46

Sorry if I am not so upbeat today, but my boobs seem almost normal. I know it is not a good sign, and I feel petrified.

Emmsy · 09/09/2007 13:31

Hi all,
I had a m/c on 30th April EDC would have been 29th December. I also had a blighted ovum about 6 & 1/2 years ago that wasn't picked up until my booking in appt at approx 9 weeks. I am now pregnant again and am not due until 5th may. I have been worrying from the date my pregnancy test was possitive. (I did try to join in your thread a couple of days ago, but backed off in floods of tears because of oinker losing her baby, I was feeling very emotional)
I have stupidly been taking my BBT since becomming pregnant, it has constantly been 37.00 but this morning it went right down to 36.7, I have been convinced that I am going to miscarry today or tommorrow, and have even put a pad on incase! No sign of anything happening yet! I did have a hot curry last night and have just read an article by the daily post that hot curries can lower your temperature. I hope that's the reason why my temp dropped
Anyway I will take my temp 2 morrow and if it goes back up I am going to ask my DH 2 hide my thermometer. take care allx
p.s I already have some lovely children!

Bouncingturtle · 09/09/2007 13:47

Ahh, Emsy, sorry you are going through this. Please feel free to vent on here.
You must be about 6-7 weeks now then? Have you got your booking in appointment?
I know it's not much consolation, but pg symptons do come and go so I would try not to read to much into the temperature differential. Have you thought about asking for an early scan?

cazzybabs · 09/09/2007 14:27

Thanks - its good to know I am not alone!

Emmsy - the 1st 12 weeks are terrible. Everytime (for the 1st 12 weeks) i wentto the toilet I checked the loo paper for signs of blood! Please try not to worry.

goodcatholicgirl · 09/09/2007 15:22

Emmsy - hello matey!! Glad you joined us all over here. For those of you who wouldn't know, Emmsy and I are aquainted from the due May 08 thread, we are both due the same day!

I had some nausea yesterday, but seems to have settled today. My poor boobs are gonna end up bruised if I keep squeezing them to check they still feel 'fuller'!!

I am hoping as I have been fortunate to only experience one mc early on in pgy 2 years ago, that I will feel much better once I get to 12 weeks. I know it's not a guarentee (sp?)but I believe risk reduces dramatically after 12 weeks.

Hope you are all having a good weekend. Just baked banana muffins with dd (OK, she's only 16 mths so I kinda had to do it all, but she watched and will certainly eat one later!)

Emmsy · 09/09/2007 15:26

Thanks for the support!
tutle I am 6 weeks LMP was 29thJuly, I went to get preg confirmed at clinic on Tuesday 4th Sep, I told the Dr I was worried because all the preg tests I had taken were quite light in colour, even though I took my last one a week later! The Dr said that was nothing to worry about and that they didn't care how light your test was as long as it's positive. She gave me a letter to pass into my own GP's and I did that on Tuesday, I assume they just send a letter to the hospital and then they said my booking in appt in the post, that's what happened 3 years ago!I don't like to ask for an early scan, even though I would really love to have one! Cazzy, did you temp through your first trimester? If you did, did your temp ever drop but go back up the next day?
If not anyone else out there that this has happened to?
Cazzy I had bleeding when I was 20weeks with my first son, I was on holiday at the time in Zante! he was and is still fine!
Thanks again for the support!

Emmsy · 09/09/2007 15:59

Hi GCG, thanks for telling me about this thread! I will still visit the other thread as I feel I can "get a little" (or a lot) and "give a little" to both threads!
I just need to get through the next day or so and hope temp goes back up! Then I can worry about something else!
I'm glad your here with me, and I hope we can go all the way to the finishing line without too many probs!xxx

becklespeckle · 09/09/2007 16:13

Ellie and {{{hugs}}}.
Gingercat, the same happened to my boobs at 9 weeks, I was convinced it was the end but I think it is natural for our symptoms to come and go as the hormones fluctuate all the time. This thread is great when you are feeling down, keep posting and we'll help you get through the first awful weeks.
Emmsy, welcome to the thread, I don't know much about BBT but I know that the lovely MrsMc used to take hers and it dropped for a couple of days, she is now over 20 weeks! Hopefully she will be along soon to help reassure you.

EllieG · 09/09/2007 17:22

Thanks for hugs all - am feeling better now. Had a bit of a wobbly moment this morning but we went out and had a lovely day in the sunshine with DSD and DP and I tried to concentrate on what I have rather than what I don't. And I thought - well, I have another LO now, and although I am trying not to get too attached, maybe I won't fight it anymore, as I would rather have been emotionally involved and got something out of it, then if something goes wrong I know this LO was properly loved (if you get what I mean). I have seen MrsMc's poem, it's lovely and made me cry - I printed it and some other ones on the site out though don't read them too often for fear of snivelling too much

Hello Emmsy - nice to have you here though obviously it would be nicer for you if you didn't have to be. Don't know about temps but I'm sure someone will. Hope your PG is dull and uneventful x

gingercat - my boobs get less hurty at times and then start up again and all my symptoms change from time to time. I try not to think about it too much, though I know that's easier said than done. When are you being scanned?

Feedmenow · 09/09/2007 18:20

Evening all, and welcome to the newbies!
Fettle, you are now officially full-term are you not?!?
I just watched Home Births on the Discovery channel and saw another head crowning shot, plus the full on stretching, etc, etc, etc. How does a baby fit out of there!!!!! It''s pretty awsome really, don't you think?
Anyways, so I've got my 12 week scan tomorrw morning and am beginning to cack myself. I was out Friday night and Saturday night and was up til around midnight both nights. Great, you might think. However, I think "why was I able to stay up a good 3 hours later than my usual pregnancy bedtime????". You all know what I'm thinking. I just so want tomorrow to be OK. I'm nervous as well cos I've invited my mum to come with us to the scan (will be her 4th g/child, but she's never been to a scan before)but I'm worried incase being confident enough to have invited her might jinx it. Again, I KNOW you all know what I'm on about! But just please be OK. Healthy and well, healthy and well, healthy and well.......
Hope everyone else is feeling good and have enjoyed their weekends. Hope we hear from Rubles and PLP soon......

fettleandminifettle · 09/09/2007 18:48

Healthy and well, Healthy and well - Feedmenow! I'll be thinking of you tomorrow. As has been said so many times, feeling better does not mean anything has gone wrong - you might just be feeling better!! The placenta will be doing more of the hard work, so the initial output from you will be slowing down by now. Take care. xxxx

Yup - I was 37 weeks yesterday. Had a phone call from the hospital midwife about an hour ago to say that one of my liver enzymes from my tests on Friday is very high, so could I come in tomorrow morning for yet more blood tests and another baby monitoring session. Then I'm seeing my consultant on Tuesday. She seems to think that although my bile acids are normal, it is possible to have cholestasis with raised liver enzymes the only presenting symptom. When I was in for my first check-up since I started itching a week ago, the consultant then said that if my liver enzymes were high they would induce me by 38 weeks! that's next Saturday! Suddenly seems all a bit close, but I'll need to wait until Tuesday to see what my consultant says - feel a mixture of relief and the obvious worry for mini-fet again. Relief that I hadn't been imagining the itching, but worry if I don't feel him move for more than an hour (for those who don't know there is an increased risk of still birth, sudden fetal distress etc after 37 weeks with cholestasis). Thankfully the hospital are being fantastic, monitoring me so closely. I was induced with DD at 36 weeks due to cholestasis, so at least this time, i've made it to officially full-term!

Anyway, don't want to take away from all you with the horrible first few weeks worries, when mine are entirely different, but as you know, it really does help just to get it down on here, as some sort of therapy!!

hope all well with everyone else.
xxx

ejt1764 · 09/09/2007 18:59

Evening all ... have been to a wedding this weekend down in deepest darkest West Wales, and had a lovely time, but only managed to stay out until about 9.30!

Very tired now, and in a lot of pain, so am going to bed in a minute ... but

fettle - hope it all goes well for you tomorrow - thinking of you!

feedmenow - also thinking of you ... we've all been there at the scan, I for one cried absolute buckets ... let us know how it goes!

Hi to everybody else... going to collapse now!

MerlinsBeard · 09/09/2007 20:47

Feedmenow....my scan is thursday and am already bricking it! Its normal at 12 weeks for symptoms to die down. Will be thinking of you

EllieG · 09/09/2007 22:17

Feedmenow and fettle - healthy and well, healthy and well xxxx
Let us know how you get on tomorrow feedmenow.
The worry doesn't stop does it fettle? At least your doctors sound very good and pro-active so your LO is in good hands.

Sorry if this is tmi, but I have terrible thrush today, and not sure what I can take for it. Last time was PG I used medicine or cream can't remember which, and now am bit scared it caused MC. Does anyone know if the cream is OK? Pretty sure pessary and oral capsule are out but not sure. Answers on a postcard please...

Emmsy · 10/09/2007 00:41

EllieG cream and pessaries are ok when ur pregnant, it's oral tablets that should be avoided, I had thrush loads with my "ok" pregnancies! You should still get it prescribed from the DR though incase there is something else that needs to be checked!

Well I don't think I will be with you ladies for very long! I started to spot at about 7.00pm I have lay down for hours, but every time I get up the bleeding becomes more frequent, abit like a dripping tap!
I have had pre-menstrual pains also with lower back ache so I think I am heading for another miscarriage. I can't sleep now I am upset and angry!
Goodcatholicgirl sorry I won't be with you at the finishing line, but it's been good talking to you, good luck to everyone else, I will let you know the outcome before I leave the thread!

Bouncingturtle · 10/09/2007 07:19

Emmsy , I really hope it's not, how are you this morning?

Feedmenow - good luck with your scan this morning, think happy thoughts.

gingercat12 · 10/09/2007 08:08

Thanks for all your help. You are absolutely right, symptoms come and go as they please. Sorry to be so paranoid. I would have preferred though if my heightened sense of smell went, but that stays with me. Am over 14 weeks now, so scan in just over 5 weeks' time.

Emmsy I am so sorry. I cannot even say anything better at the moment.

Feedmenow Good luck today!!!!
