Pregnancy after IVF

I thought I'd start this thread for anyone who's pregnant following IVF as there are some things that are only really relevant to IVF pregnancies, like certain medications. It would be good to have some people in a similar situation to talk to.

@Marmite83 hello!

I had DS after ICSI and he is now 2. Are you going through IVF or have you had kids that way already?

Ginger1982 · 21/08/2019 19:16

Sorry, just realised this is the pregnancy board so obviously you're pregnant! 🤦‍♀️😆

Marmite83 · 21/08/2019 19:17

@Passionfruit20 hopefully some more will join us soon

Hi @Ginger1982 I have one dd who's 3. She was conceived naturally by some miracle! I am now pregnant, still very early on, from my first cycle of IVF

I’ll join currently 7+4 after first FET. We had our scan on Monday and all looked good. We saw the heartbeat which was incredible. Have now been discharged from clinic!

Ginger1982 · 21/08/2019 20:07

I remember feeling as though my pregnancy was so micro managed right from the get go. And because we knew so early on it seemed to go on forever! 😆

Marmite83 · 21/08/2019 20:13

Hi @Whatelsecouldibecalled, fantastic news! Must feel a little strange being discharged

Whatelsecouldibecalled · 21/08/2019 20:17

Yep does feel a little strange. Trying to stay cautiously optimistic!

jemmarowe · 22/08/2019 17:56

Hi!
Congratulations guys :) such happy news!
I'm 10+2 with my first baby, following IVF. Feel so lucky. I've just come off the majority of the progesterone support and I feel like I've turned a corner, not so tired etc.
Hope you're doing well. When will you be due? I'm mid March xxxx

melissa1215 · 22/08/2019 18:04

I'm 33+5 after icsi, worked on my second round

Whatelsecouldibecalled · 22/08/2019 18:21

@jemmarowe congrats on your pregnancy! How did you feel coming off the drugs? I’ve been told to stop everything cold turkey at end of 10th week. Feeling a bit nervous about it after being on them for so long. How did our find it? Are u feeling any different?

@melissa1215 welcome! Not long to go now for you! How exciting

I’m 7+5 today. Feeling ok. Random waves of sickness. A bit tired. Not sure if I should be feeling ‘more’ who knows?!

Whatelsecouldibecalled · 22/08/2019 18:21

Clinic have given EDD of 4th April for me

Tickety1 · 22/08/2019 19:55

I'm 5 weeks today after embryo donation. Still just getting over the initial euphoria of positive test! Difficult to know what I should be feeling - what is just down to the meds and what is the pregnancy if anything at this point. and how would I know if it had gone wrong? Have v sore boobs and some cramps - these seems to be getting less though . definitely feels like something is going on in there though, but again, is that just the meds,. . No nausea yet but I think early for that anyway. No reason to thing anything wrong - but mixed between very excited and constantly worried.

Baba #1 is 10 days following an ivf pregnancy

June340oo · 22/08/2019 20:33

Hello to all!

Currently 16 weeks pregnant after a frozen day 2 embryo transfer back in May, I’m due the 8th Feb. Grin

TinyPaws · 22/08/2019 20:35

Hi all, I'll join. A couple of familiar names in here!

I'm 5+4 after a FET. Got my first scan next week and shitting bricks as I've had 3 early losses and have had some bleeding and cramping too. On the plus side, my boobs are massive, I'm feeling really nauseous and pregnancy tests are showing strong positives (I've taken like 2 dozen). Keeping everything crossed!

Whatelsecouldibecalled · 22/08/2019 20:37

👋 @tinypaws

Chista · 22/08/2019 20:38

33+6 following ICSI and 5 day blast transfer, it was our first transfer.

jemmarowe · 22/08/2019 20:42

@Whatelsecouldibecalled I'm definitely feeling a bit better, which could just be coincidence but my nurse also told me because I was on such high doses of progesterone I was bound to feel better when coming off them. I'm still on the vaginal gel but have stopped the pills, injections and blood thinning injections too.
I was totally exhausted; like barely able to be up for more an 30 mins at a time. I'm now out of bed much more than I'm in it!

How have you been feeling? X

Scarlett555 · 22/08/2019 20:46

Hello and congratulations all! I am 5+1 after fresh embryo transfer. I was advised by the clinic not to go ahead as I had OHSS... but did the transfer anyway. OHSS symptoms completely gone. Feel normal. Feel silly saying it but I am hoping for some morning sickness symptoms to start soon as it still feels surreal!

We've been trying for almost 3 years, so glad DD will finally be getting a sibling.

Teddybear45 · 22/08/2019 21:03

25 weeks following ICSI. Only taking the meds I need for my conditions now. But having said that, my hair has been falling out since stopping the estradiol / progesterone.

Whatelsecouldibecalled · 22/08/2019 21:26

Oh a good range of stages already. Nice to see.

@jemmarowe how much progesterone were you on? I’m on 800mg utrogestan 6mg progynova and 24hr estrogen patches. No injections luckily. Feel ok. Occasional bloat and some bits of sickness but on the whole ok.

sandytoes84 · 22/08/2019 21:41

19 weeks following first FET (freeze all cycle). Starting to show now and feeling pretty good to be off the drugs, past the sickness and (as much as possible anyway) past the early pregnancy anxiety. This first few weeks between bfp and 12 week scan are tough!

Marmite83 · 22/08/2019 22:24

Hi everyone, so nice that there's a few of us already. Im 5+2 and on Crinone 8% and cyclogest plus Inhixa injections. Scan booked for next Friday which feels a lifetime away.

I feel the same @Scarlett555, wishing to feel sick is bonkers really but it would really re-assure me.

Tickety1 · 22/08/2019 22:26

Hi @Scarlett555 and @TinyPaws- we’re pretty much at the same stage then! Know what you mean about wanting morning sickness to come on just so I know it’s real . But once it comes I know it’s going to be really tough. Can’t help worrying that when we go for scan in 2 weeks there’ll be nothing there - time is going so slowly!
