@avocadoincident I had it a few week ago. Used the pessary just the once and it went.

satsumasaturday · 21/09/2019 10:18

@Jesskir89 I'm 5lb up from pre pregnancy (16+2). I'm trying to at least keep an eye on it as I used to do SW and shifted two stone to get to my target so I'm conscious of my weight. I know it goes on easily for me but is much harder to keep off! I found a chart online that shows how much you should be gaining week by week (upper and lower limit) so I'm keeping watch on that so I don't get out of control!

Does your SW consultant know you're pregnant? I think the HEs allowance changes when you're pregnant so that you make sure you get enough fiber and calcium

brookelopez · 21/09/2019 12:10

@avocadoincident don't worry if you don't need the toilet a lot yet!! it's been the past two days only for me. I'm 16+3

MiniJMac · 21/09/2019 20:13

I'm in Essex.
We decided like with our 1st born not to have the downs test or Edward's for many reasons.
One, the unnecessary worry. Were both under 35, and if they come back with the figures which are worrying like reading with some people and they need to do further tests (which you can opt out of) you can risk miscarriage when you could still have a perfectly healthy baby. It's the thought of then carrying that baby worrying it has downs or other, we would be happy no matter what when its born.

Jesskir89 · 21/09/2019 22:51

@satsumasaturday that's good 5lb and I will look for the chart. Yes I told her I get an extra A choice :)

Keyboard91 · 22/09/2019 11:04

@Jesskir89 I’m still 10lb down on pre pregnancy weight. But it’s stabilised this last week so I think it’ll trend upwards now. 13+3. Although I’ve not got much of an appetite at the moment and having to force myself to eat 🤦‍♀️

Feeling pretty rubbish as everything hurts. Really worrying about the next 6 days at work. I don’t know what SPD/PGP feels like as it’s my first pregnancy getting this far and I’ve never had it, but I was told I was high risk for it due to my other condition, and I’m worrying that this is it now for the next 25 and a bit weeks 😢

I don't know what's wrong with me today. DH & DD are up and out doing garden stuff & I've literally just got out of the shower. Zero motivation to do anything! I think I'll try and do some house work but I just can't be bothered! Anyone else had a few slow days?

ineedanotherholiday · 22/09/2019 12:46

Hello ladies,

Hope everyone is well, I'm back after my 12 week scan. So so happy there is a perfect little bean in there.

We're not finding out the sex but I'm still trying all the old wives tales etc. Posting my scan pic :) if anyone knows nub theory and fancies having a go please do. Been trying to do it myself but I can't even see a nub Blush

Hope everyone is well x

Yvonne1988 · 22/09/2019 12:54

I signed up for the healthy mummy today. Exercise and meal plan. Can't do the exercise plan yet but I'm already using the meal plans. Seen it on facebook all the time and feeling like I need to get ahead now.

brookelopez · 22/09/2019 21:56

I've just eaten a large bag of sweet and salty popcorn to myself. I couldnt be bothered to cook Blush

Jesskir89 · 22/09/2019 22:05

@keybpard91 wow 10lb down! That's given you some room to gain later on then lol. @inneedofanotherholiday congrats on the scan and I can't see the nub either I couldn't on mine so don't worry just positioning

MunchyMunchkin · 22/09/2019 22:07

I’ve got a brilliant book by a dietician called real food for pregnancy. Supports a lower carb, whole food type diet and supports it with lots of research.
Trying to stick to that most days!

@ineedanotherholiday lovely scan, no clue on the nub.

Dinosauraddict · 23/09/2019 08:06

I've been off here a couple days as had family visiting (DM and 'D'MIL taking me round the shops looking at maternity wear all day Sat nearly killed me off)! I am absolutely refusing to engage on any weight conversation - I don't even own scales. I'm losing weight in certain places (legs) but bump is getting really big (I'm 15+6). According to hospital I lost 3kg between 8 week booking in appointment and 12 week scan - I don't know if that's good/bad/what, or what it is in pounds. I'm useless. But the last 2 days I've started to feel more hungry than sick, so that's progress as far as I'm concerned. I have private gender scan booked for Wednesday and I am so excited to finally find out!!!

blondie87 · 23/09/2019 10:53

When is everyone having their whooping cough vaccine? I can’t get an appointment until second week of October when I’ll be 19 weeks andhoping that’s not too late.

MunchyMunchkin · 23/09/2019 11:55

@blondie87 I haven’t booked yet.
Anytime between 16 and 28 weeks is fine.

Will try and get a slot booked when I’m at the GP this week to see the midwife.

Don’t forget you can have your flu jab at the same time and hopefully they should have some stock by your appointment.

blondie87 · 23/09/2019 12:10

Thank you @munchymunchkin. I asked about flu but they said they are only do over-65s for the time being.

MunchyMunchkin · 23/09/2019 12:12

@blondie17 My GP friends tell me that stock is arriving in the next two weeks so you may get lucky!

DerbyshireGirly · 23/09/2019 13:02

Has anybody been suffering with headaches? Been having them on and off over the last few weeks but I'm now on day 5 of a headache that isn't shifting with paracetamol (and I don't want to keep taking that just in case). Has anybody been to their GP and had anything prescribed? I don't know whether there's any point trying to get an appointment or whether I should just live with it. Stupidly I've got some irrational worry that it could be harming the baby Blush

brookelopez · 23/09/2019 13:34

yes to the headaches. at least one a day and they usually go away if I take 2 paracetamol.

Dinosauraddict · 23/09/2019 14:19

@blondie87 - that'll be absolutely fine, they do our whooping cough vaccine alongside our 20 week scans here.

@DerbyshireGirly - I have been given migraine tablets for my headaches, they have ones that are perfectly safe during pregnancy, but don't worry it's not harming baby, it's al linked to hormone changes

MissPepper8 · 23/09/2019 15:05

Bit of advice.. I've been for my first consultant check today with my thyroid Dr. I pressed a bit for midwife led unit (as I had a traumatic birth and past in hospitals) and she said no as this will be vbac and risk of scar splitting ect (despite the fact consultant led unit is right next door).

She doesn't have much say I don't think as she had to ask a head midwife if I could. I don't think I can press even more on it can I?

Only consultant (I assume she is) I see now is her. I'm so sad.. If they had recognised my waters went initially I wouldn't of needed an emergency section.

brookelopez · 23/09/2019 16:40

my baby's dad has just text me for the first time in ages. he asked to come to the 20 week scan in October. the text made my stomach turn as he's not a very nice person and I really don't want him there or near me. but half of me is thinking maybe if I let him come to scans and feel more involved then he will be more willing to agree to pay for half of what I buy for the baby. I am so stuck and my anxiety is through the roof

brookelopez · 23/09/2019 16:44

back story to the 'paying half' issue is that he thinks if he 'helps' pay for things the baby needs then I will spend the money on myself. this is not based on anything other than he doesn't want to pay. he says all I care about is money, when really he's not the one having to buy a pram, cot, clothes etc etc on his own with no help.

avocadoincident · 23/09/2019 18:53

@brookelopez if he isn't a nice person maybe it's better you keep your distance and manage without the money. Once someone starts paying for things they often want a say in day to day things too.

avocadoincident · 23/09/2019 18:54

@MissPepper8 is that how it works then? If you've had an emergency section then you are consultant led?

Or are you consultant led because of your thyroid?
