The Graduates of TTC after pregnancy loss thread #2 "The Penguin Huddle " 🐧🐧🐧

Hello Ladies

Starting a new penguin huddle thread as the first one is getting very full. This is for those of us who've graduated from the conception boards.

Getting a BFP after pregnancy loss is not necessarily a happy time so this is a safe place to vent, worry and share news (good, hopefully, or bad).

I hope you are all here for the long-haul. But you are welcome no matter how briefly.
Others who are pregnant after loss but who weren't on the original thread are of course welcome too.

Let's start the roll call:

Me:
No living children, 3rd pregnancy, currently 8+3. Had early scan at 7 weeks that showed baby measuring right for 7w with a heartbeat. Got another early viability scan booked in for this Tuesday at 8+6. Really scared I've lost this one again.
2 previous pregnancies ended in mmc at 12+3 (baby stopped growing at 5 weeks) in July 2018 and mc (CP but hate that term) in November 2018. Before then had been TTC for 5 years so our journey has been 6 years since starting to TTC.

Thank you for the reassurance @Yukka and @Amanda81

Congratulations @Twins786! Glad to hear all is going well for you this time :) are you having identical twins or fraternal?

Let us know how you get on @rubyroot

Twins786 · 16/07/2019 14:33

They are not identical have their own sacs. They kudnt see the gender as too early she said. Will hopefully find out next one. It don't really matter as long as they are both healthy. And thanks for the welcome guys. Smile

Twins786 · 16/07/2019 14:38

Thanks yukka at least I know now. The next one is at 21 weeks hopefully they will go easy lol.

rubyroot · 16/07/2019 15:01

Hi thanks everyone. So I now have open access to epau. Conclydion of scan is pregnancy in unknown location. So she thinks I have a lutesk cyst on my ovary which is the side which hurts. But that shouldn't cause pain. She then said she saw tiny speck which looks like start of pregnancy but can't be sure.

So hcg test today and I'll await results for that. So she said 3 possibilities ectopic, impending miscarriage or viable pregnancy. She just can't be sure. Said pain could be anything.. Muscular, bowel etc. Said pain for ectopic unlikely to present itself that early.

I now have open access to epau and can ring if pain worsens etc.

Thing is I'm supposed to be going on holiday. I'll see what these hcg results are

I now have open

rubyroot · 16/07/2019 15:04

God struggling to type. So thinks its luteal cyst which is normal as you probably know, but it could be possible ectopic pregnancy. I think the fact I've presented with pain means that she can't rule it out.

I'm glad I'm being seen tho and have open access so that's all good.

Bluebelltulip · 16/07/2019 15:05

Sorry you don't have a definite answer yet @rubyroot but good you can go back if you need too.

I'm not feeling good today, nearly fainted twice while I was at the park with DD, luckily I was with friends. I'm spending the afternoon on the sofa while DD plays and watches TV.

rubyroot · 16/07/2019 15:26

@Bluebelltip it's not bad news yet though and as you very well know nothings definite in pregnancy is it. One day at a time. After the Dr telling me I wasn't pregnant today I feel strangely more relaxed 😂

Hoping @Indreamland and @DuvetCaterpillar have good news to share soon. X

Beaglemum93 · 16/07/2019 15:30

@rubyroot sorry you didn't get an answer today but it's good news you have open access to epau. Hopefully all is ok and it's just too early to see anything. Where was the tiny speck she thought she saw?

Sorry you're feeling unwell @Bluebelltulip, hope you feel better soon

rubyroot · 16/07/2019 15:47

@Beaglemum93 sorry I didn't make that clear. It was where it should be, in my uterus

Bluebelltulip · 16/07/2019 15:51

@rubyroot no nothing is definite, all we can do is take each day as it comes, think positive. I'm glad you are being looked after. When are you going on holiday?

DuvetCaterpillar · 16/07/2019 16:27

Thanks everyone for the good wishes - you have kept my spirits up at various points today when the panic starts rising. Sonographer couldn't see anything on the scan as it's too early (sorry for the anticlimax!), but said I'd done the right thing to come in given my history. Just waiting to have some bloods done now, and anticipate another go at a scan next week or something. I'll take no news as good news for now.

@rubyroot Great news that you got checked out and you can now access the EPU as necessary, that's fantastic. Fingers crossed for you and your little speck, and at least we can keep each other company while we wait it out! Where are you going on holiday?

@bluebelltulip sorry to hear you're not feeling well - a sofa afternoon sounds like an excellent idea.

Welcome @sprite25 and @Twins786 - glad you found us, and hope you have long, healthy and happy stays with us x

rubyroot · 16/07/2019 16:36

@DuvetCaterpillar no news is good news as they say x

InDreamland · 16/07/2019 16:50

Thank you for all the good wishes ladies @DuvetCaterpillar @rubyroot @Frillyfarmer @Bluebelltulip @sadtoday21 @Beaglemum93 (sorry if I've missed anyone).

Home now from scan. I'm so relieved, and will now relax for the whole of 24-48 hours. Baby measuring 9w (1 day ahead as I'm 8+6 today so pretty much bang on). Heartbeat is strong. Everything apparently looks in right place etc. Saw heartbeat as well as heard it and saw little foot. Apparently they could make out other limbs but I couldn't. This is the furthest we've been in all 3 pregnancies (mmc got to end of first trimester but baby stopped developing at 5-6 weeks).

@Yukka so exciting baby is almost on the way!

@Bluebelltulip sorry you're feeling unwell today. Make sure you rest lots, this heat is no good for any pregnant lady.

@sprite25 @Twins786 congratulations and welcome!

@rubyroot great that you have access to EPU and they'll look after you now. Fx the little speck is in the right place and turns into a sticky bean. Where are you off on hols?

@DuvetCaterpillar fx for good bloods results. Do you have next week's scan booked now?

@InDreamland YESYESYESYES so pleased for you. You deserve this!
I'm not sure about holiday yet as they may ask me to stay and do another hcg. I wabt to just say no. I'm off on holiday. But I think that's irresponsible?

theAntsareMyFriends · 16/07/2019 17:00

yay @inDreamland I'm so pleased to hear your news. I hope you have at least 48hours to feel happy and worry free.

@rubyroot sorry everything was inconclusive. I went for an early scan thinking I was 9weeks and just saw what looked like an egg and a 5week pregnancy. Thought it was all over but I was just 4 weeks behind what I thought. A speck is a start and I hope it turns out to be the start of something good for you. I also had loads of cramps in one side and was told by the person scanning me that it was normal to have cramps from the side you ovulated on which I hadn't hear before.

welcome @sprite25 and @Twins786.

Bluebelltulip · 16/07/2019 17:03

Thanks @beaglemum93, @DuvetCaterpillar and @InDreamland. DH is on tea duty tonight.

Yay! @InDreamland I'm so happy for you Smile

rubyroot · 16/07/2019 17:09

TheAntsareMyFriends. That's interesting... the luteal cyst is on left hand side so that is the side I ovulated on tho the sonographer wasn't able to give reassurance re the pain.

I didn't think I'd get definite answers I'm estimating I'm 4.5 weeks (neg test last Monday and a clearly positive one last Thursday) so a spec is all I thought I'd see. I actually didn't expect to see a spec. I think the sonographer is being cautious re possible ectopic as she could be wrong about the cyst and that means she just can't rule it out.

She did say impending miscarriage still a possibility. I'm not sure if she said that because of pain or my history.

I'm fine though. I can deal with this. 😀

InDreamland · 16/07/2019 18:02

@rubyroot not sure if it's irresponsible. Do you have a hol booked or were you going to do a last minute deal? Will you lose any money if you don't go? Thank you, I am relieved for now.

@theAntsareMyFriends @Bluebelltulip thank you.

Congrats on your scan @InDreamland. You definitely deserve to enjoy the relieved feeling. Fingers crossed @rubyroot and @DuvetCaterpillar that things turn out ok for you.

Wow @twins786 - how exciting!

Hope you're feeling a bit better this eve @Bluebelltulip.

sadtoday21 · 16/07/2019 18:17

Thanks @Bluebelltulip!! It was only my transfer of status viva, so I will also be either heavily pregnant/or with a newborn (I hope!) for the final viva. But I passed anyway! So not too much pregnancy brain yet I guess. My MMC at 12 weeks put me a bit behind this year, mentally speaking, but I'm catching up now. Do you also find it hard to concentrate on the dissertation/work with all this going on?

@InDreamland beautiful scan photos!! I'm so happy for you! This day is now going to be a happier day for future memories :).

@rubyroot sorry you didn't get any answers, but at least you are getting good care. How are you feeling now? Grow speck grow!

Beaglemum93 · 16/07/2019 18:30

That's amazing news @InDreamland! I'm so happy for you!

DuvetCaterpillar · 16/07/2019 18:31

@InDreamland YES! Oh, I am so pleased for you, that's fantastic news. What a relief for you. Hello BabyDreamland, aren't you marvellous?

@sadtoday21 Congratulations on passing your transfer viva, that is wonderful, you clever thing! I'm impressed you can hold anything else in your head at all at the moment, I'm struggling.

Thanks @pancakesandwaffles and everyone else for the crossed fingers - much appreciated. I'm actually a lot calmer now - I think having an actual medic confirm I'm pregnant and not hallucinating feels like a step forward for now. I'm to go back on Friday for more bloods, looking for a trend in HCG scores, so more answers and I guess a decision about any further scans / next steps then. It's definitely taken some of the panic away though for now to know that I will hopefully have an answer one way or another by Fri/ Sat.

Hope everyone is well and coping with the heat OK!

VenusStarr · 16/07/2019 18:37

😍 Wonderful news @InDreamland so happy for you x

sadtoday21 · 16/07/2019 18:45

Thanks @DuvetCaterpillar!! I don't know how - I can't think about anything but this pregnancy either! I hope your hcg levels come back nice and high next time around and that everything is in the right place this time. Do you know how many weeks you are now? Solidarity handhold as I'm only 5w4d too. I had a partial moral last time discovered at 12 weeks, so I am really afraid of recurrent, among other things (don't even want to test the hcg because if its low I will worry and if its high I will also worry about another molar). I'm sure you must have similar fears with the ectopic you suffered. It's all so shit isn't it, when you just realise that anything could go wrong at anytime. Anyway, hope you are doing ok and will have more answers soon! Xxx
