The Graduates of TTC after pregnancy loss thread #2 "The Penguin Huddle " 🐧🐧🐧

Hello Ladies

Starting a new penguin huddle thread as the first one is getting very full. This is for those of us who've graduated from the conception boards.

Getting a BFP after pregnancy loss is not necessarily a happy time so this is a safe place to vent, worry and share news (good, hopefully, or bad).

I hope you are all here for the long-haul. But you are welcome no matter how briefly.
Others who are pregnant after loss but who weren't on the original thread are of course welcome too.

Let's start the roll call:

Me:
No living children, 3rd pregnancy, currently 8+3. Had early scan at 7 weeks that showed baby measuring right for 7w with a heartbeat. Got another early viability scan booked in for this Tuesday at 8+6. Really scared I've lost this one again.
2 previous pregnancies ended in mmc at 12+3 (baby stopped growing at 5 weeks) in July 2018 and mc (CP but hate that term) in November 2018. Before then had been TTC for 5 years so our journey has been 6 years since starting to TTC.

Who have I missed?

@rubyroot glad you got a scan booked in. I'm pretty sure I had a jelly discharge a few weeks ago too. My no.2s have always been soft in ask my pregnancies including this one. Never had constipation in pregnancy (I admit it had worried me).

I know @Navy123! She was very nice. Sorry you're still in limbo, hope the GP tomorrow helps. Do you think they'll refer you for a scan? How far along are you now?

@Amanda81 😍 amazing scan! It's really happening 💜

@InDreamland brilliant news!! 12 weeks!! 💜💜 Can't wait to see your scan

@KnitKitty good to hear your update

@Beaglemum93 good to see your update

Hope you're OK @ReeReeR, glad you spoke to your midwife. How far along are you? Hope the bleeding has stopped now?

@rubyroot have the epu discharged you then?

@Russkispy wishing you well for your scan 💜 how you feeling in yourself, hope the spotting has stopped for you

@Squiff70 how are you today?

Sorry I haven't tagged everyone. Am feeling a bit better in myself. I've made dh and I lasagne for dinner, realised as I put it on the oven that I forgot to put garlic in 🤦‍♀️

sadtoday21 · 06/08/2019 19:03

@Amanda81 I think that may be the most beautiful scan pic I have ever seen - just lovely!!! So happy for you xxx.

@Russkispy good luck tomorrow, you nerves-of-steel woman! If only I could be as calm as you...

@Indreamland so happy for you and hoping the results from the tests come back clear later this week (it all sounds really positive!). You must be so relieved

Russkispy · 06/08/2019 19:05

@Amanda81 @InDreamland beautiful scans! And I hope now you can believe when I say everything is going to be ok @InDreamland ! Harmony tests will come back low risk for you! Just believe it!
@VenusStarr brown discharge/spotting is still here. And I'm soooo over it haha as cool as a cucumber, I am! Yes, my scan is tomorrow and I should be 7 weeks.

Beaglemum93 · 06/08/2019 19:08

Good luck for your scan tomorrow @Russkispy

Newbie21 · 06/08/2019 19:17

@InDreamland and @Amanda81 so pleased scans went well.

Best of luck @Russkispy for your scan tomorrow.

@rubyroot I was scanned at 5 weeks when I was spotting. GP referred me for scan and HCG tests. I have had 3 previous MCs so that may have made it easier but definitely worth asking esp if suspected ectopic.

rubyroot · 06/08/2019 19:37

Good luck @Russkispy.

Amanda81 · 06/08/2019 20:16

So very pleased that your scan went well @InDreamland - looking beautiful! And your harmony test results WILL come back low risk.

Thanks @Catconfusion - it's been a long old journey, but finally feel it's happening.

Aww thanks @sadtoday21, i have fallen in love again...feels amazing. 💕

Thanks @Bluebelltulip @Beaglemum93 @rubyroot @VenusStarr @Newbie21

Good luck for your scan tomorrow @Russkispy - I have everything crossed for you.

@KnitKitty - I meant to post earlier. I also started getting dead arms when laying down, and pins and needles in my fingers. I started to get this at around 13/14 wks. The arms have stopped going dead, but still get tingly fingers. I spoke to the MW about it and she just said it's normal, but try and lay differently. I got myself a preggo pillow for sleeping to see if it helps. Still trying to make friends with the pillow but we aren't getting along as it restricts me from moving whilst sleeping (which of course is the whole idea)...might we worth investing in one if not done so already.

rubyroot · 06/08/2019 20:31

@Indreamland-sorry almost missed that - excellent news on your scan. Do you think you will relax now. I'm sure they would have picked up any lmbug chromosomal issues as fluid would probably be an issue. But you've been waiti g a long time for your harmony result now haven't you! I really hope mine comes back quicker (if I get to ten weeks) as that will be a massively anxious time for me.

rubyroot · 06/08/2019 20:31

I meant big

Squiff70 · 06/08/2019 20:43

Great scan pics @Amanda81 and @InDreamland!

My official EDD is 27th March 2020 but they won't let me go past 36/37 weeks with twins so likely to be the first week in March.

tinatsarina · 06/08/2019 21:43

Just catching up ladies.

Lovely scans @Amanda81 and @InDreamland and good luck for tomorrow @Russkispy I don't know how you're managing to stay so calm.

Frillyfarmer · 06/08/2019 21:57

Another catching up with the thread - great scans @Amanda81 and @InDreamland - so pleased everything seems well 😊

I am completely wiped out again tonight, boobs on fire, dead on my feet, genuinely happy my symptoms seem to be slowly killing me 😂

Amanda81 · 06/08/2019 21:59

Thanks @Squiff70 @tinatsarina

Thanks @Frillyfarmer - the symptoms are bitter sweet aren't they!

DuvetCaterpillar · 06/08/2019 22:02

Wonderful scans @amanda81 and @InDreamland - congratulations! Every day is one step forward, that's all we can ask for. Best of luck for tomorrow too @Russkispy

How are you doing now @ReeReeR? Hoping the red streaks are just implantation bleeding or old blood and that you're OK.

@MyHeartIsBrokenButIHaveSomeGlue I'm so sorry about your friend, that's awful, and I'm sure she'd appreciate a card. It is scary to be reminded how easily things can fall apart, so do take care of yourself too. Remember, different sperm, different egg, different pregnancy - all we can do is take care of ourselves and others and hope for the best.

Navy123 · 07/08/2019 06:48

@InDreamland yeah I'd pay £100 in Harley street/London, but we are Suffolk so I kind of expected to get one cheaper! Nothing came up on groupon when I checked last week either, I'll have another look though. So glad your scan yesterday went well - is it sinking in yet?!

@Amanda81 congrats on the scan, so glad all is well.

@VenusStarr thanks, I'm nervous about the appt! Not sure on scan, hoping so but will book a private one if not. Im about 5 1/2 weeks, haven't kept track properly though because I don't believe all will work out. Don't dare look at a due date calculator!

@Russkispy good luck for your scan later, wish I had some of your positive vibes!!

ReeReeR · 07/08/2019 07:07

I would be 4+4 today. Could maybe just go to EPU, not really sure how it works, but I think I’ve resigned myself what is happening now. I went out last night expecting to bleed but came home and still just a bit of brown spotting so I had a little bit of hope. This morning woke up to a filled panty liner (browny red) (sorry if TMI). Thanks for asking after me and sorry I haven’t replied to everyone.

MyHeartIsBrokeButIHaveSomeGlue · 07/08/2019 07:17

Thank you everyone for your advise and kind words. Had a big cry at DH last night and also felt lots of movement which was reassuring.

Brilliant news on your scans @InDreamland and @Amanda81! Absolutely gorgeous pics too! So pleased for you both to have reached these milestones. Good luck for the Harmony results @InDreamland. I rang up the Fetal medicine centre about 7 days later and they told me I was low risk over the phone so maybe you could do that if it's been a week?

@rubyroot I was also scanned at 5 weeks but that is because of my ectopic history. I think most EPUs say 6.

Sorry you have had some bleeding @ReeReeR but I echo the others in saying it is common and probably just implantation.

@Navy123 my mini anomaly scan at the Fetal medicine centre was £150!!! I've been alternating between there and a cheaper place called Baby Bond. I think they are all over the country and they do reassurance scans for £50.

Good to hear from you @coconutlatte44 - can't believe you're 16 weeks already!

Glad your EPU were supportive @VenusStarr . I hope you are feeling ok today.

Great news on the movement @Beaglemum93! Mine is still so irregular that I often worry but it's totally normal not to have a pattern or feel lots some days. That's what I keep telling myself!

Anyone heard from @Laney79 or @moonpeace lately? Or perhaps this thread has been so busy I've missed their updates!

Big hugs and good luck to @Russkispy today. We are all thinking of you and hoping your scan goes well xxx

Sorry to anyone I've missed xxx

Frillyfarmer · 07/08/2019 07:40

@Navy123 have you tried ultrasound direct, they have a clinic in Ipswich and they do 10 min dating scans for £45 which is good for peace of mind. I had a couple of them with DS and I think they're good value for money!

@InDreamland are you feeling any more relaxed or at ease after this milestone? I'm not expecting the anxiety to melt completely but I think if I had a successful scan at the weekend I might start to calm down a little bit, hopefully!

Navy123 · 07/08/2019 08:57

@Frillyfarmer thanks for that - I've obviously not scrolled down their list enough to see that one before!

@ReeReeR sorry you've got more bleeding going on. I really really hope it comes to nothing but I know you must be feeling worried about it.

Bluebelltulip · 07/08/2019 09:11

Sorry to hear that you have had more bleeding @ReeReeR I hope it stops and everything is ok for you.

VenusStarr · 07/08/2019 09:33

What time are you there @Navy123? Hope your doctor is supportive ❤️ totally understand your anxiety around it all x

@coconutlatte44 good to see you back, 16 weeks! Very happy for you :)

@ReeReeR I'm sorry you've had more bleeding, really hope it's nothing sinister for you. Are you going to test again?

@Russkispy and @Catconfusion thinking of you for your scans today x

@MyHeartIsBrokeButIHaveSomeGlue I'm sorry I think I missed your update. I'm glad your dh is supporting you and you're feeling some movements now xx

I forced myself to do another test last night and it was a strong positive. They only had first response rapid result or clearblue. I'm not confident my hcg would be high enough for a rapid response so got the clearblue and got a strong cross before the control line came up. Trying to keep calm and remember that today I'm pregnant and worrying isn't going to change the outcome. Much easier said than done! X
