Hello Ladies

Starting a new penguin huddle thread as the first one is getting very full. This is for those of us who've graduated from the conception boards.

Getting a BFP after pregnancy loss is not necessarily a happy time so this is a safe place to vent, worry and share news (good, hopefully, or bad).

I hope you are all here for the long-haul. But you are welcome no matter how briefly.
Others who are pregnant after loss but who weren't on the original thread are of course welcome too.

Let's start the roll call:

Me:
No living children, 3rd pregnancy, currently 8+3. Had early scan at 7 weeks that showed baby measuring right for 7w with a heartbeat. Got another early viability scan booked in for this Tuesday at 8+6. Really scared I've lost this one again.
2 previous pregnancies ended in mmc at 12+3 (baby stopped growing at 5 weeks) in July 2018 and mc (CP but hate that term) in November 2018. Before then had been TTC for 5 years so our journey has been 6 years since starting to TTC.

Hello, can I join? I was directed over here by Bluebell after joining the January bus.

This is my third pregnancy, currently 17 weeks, after a MMC at 9 weeks and then a TFMR a 20 weeks due to a serious heart defect. Because of last time, we are having extra heart scans and monitoring. So far everything looks okay but the heart scan did find some borderline excess fluid around the heart, which could be nothing, but can also be an indicator of infection or chromosomal disorder (although my screening came back low risk). I had bloods for infection that came back clear (thank god) so now I am just trying to stay sane until my 20 week at the end of the morning (feel sick whenever I think about it!) as it's just a wait and see game til then.
Hoping by then the fluid will be in normal parameters or not got any worse but I know I'll be a wreck on the day - arent we all on scan day?

Lovely coming to this thread and seeing so many scan pics.
We found out we were having a boy at the 16 week heart scan, he gave us an unmissable legs splayed shot so clearly wanted us to know...

Navy123 · 04/08/2019 22:18

Better today I think @VenusStarr thanks. Definitely agree about going to the loo all the time, must have been about 50x this weekend!

Spotting seems to have stopped for now, and pain seems better too. Trying not to get hopes up too much though, I don't want to get excited for nothing again.

@Squiff70 good luck for tomorrow, fx for you!

@Catconfusion sorry about your experiences last time, that midwife sounds horrible. Will you get a different one this time? I know there's not a lot of choice in some areas!

@Russkispy sorry it's started again, I hope your scan on weds brings good news and shows where this annoying spotting is coming from!

@fnej01 welcome and congrats. Glad to see you had a little heartbeat, I hope this one sticks for you.

@Bellasblankexpression welcome. I hope the 20 week scan brings good news, such a stressful time. My DS did the same as your little bean, legs splayed wide apart so I could see the gender as soon as the wand hit my belly - no option whether we found out or not!

rubyroot · 04/08/2019 22:26

@Bellasblankexpression that's tough going. Sorry for your loss. I spose in regarding to your heart scan that you would have no idea about the fluid if you hadn't had the scan and it could be nothing. I hope that is the case for you x

Bellasblankexpression · 04/08/2019 22:37

Thanks both.
Glad your spotting has stopped Navy.
That’s what DH said @rubyroot but I am the worst for jumping to worst case scenario! How are you getting on?

rubyroot · 04/08/2019 22:44

@Bellasblankexpression- very anxious. Nervously awaiting 10 week scan and harmony test. Tfmr for t21 last time and so worried this will happen again. It sure whether I'll have a scan in a week when I'll be about 8 weeks

rubyroot · 04/08/2019 22:45

Not

VenusStarr · 05/08/2019 16:08

Hope you're OK @Squiff70, been thinking if you today xx

MyHeartIsBrokeButIHaveSomeGlue · 05/08/2019 16:41

Just to say all ok today, felt some definite movements. But am only just over 18 weeks and also have an anterior placenta so not really expecting strong movements or a regular pattern. Just when the anxiety creeps in I could worry about anything! Today I am worrying because my bump hasn't grown in two weeks so I've convinced myself the baby isn't growing! Does it ever end?!

Hope everyone is ok today?

@SleepandYoga I have left hand sided pain. It has eased off a bit but I've had it nearly the whole pregnancy (just over 7 weeks). I also had the same with my successful pregnancy early on too. Stomach is also on left hand side so any pooh/fart issues ei be left hand sided. I think it was/is my luteal cyst.

Pleased you have felt movement @MyHeartIsBrokeButIHaveSomeGlue (phew!). We have very similar anxieties, I guess because we are similar stages. I feel like my bump has reduced from yesterday...how silly is that! When do you have your anomaly scan? Can't be far off now?

CodlingMoth · 05/08/2019 17:51

I know I'm not posting much, but just knowing I'm not the only one dealing with anxiety is really helpful (not that I'd wish this on anyone).

Yay for movement @MyHeartIsBrokeButIHaveSomeGlue Grin

InDreamland · 05/08/2019 17:52

Hi ladies. Sorry I went quiet over the weekend. Had major panic, anxiety and simply knackered. Yet again slept most of the weekend between panicking I've lost this one again. Think timing isn't helping as this is the point I found out about mmc in first pregnancy last year. On top of that DHs keeness to behave like all is well was adding to the anxiety as just felt like he's jinxing this one (I know I sound ridiculous but pregnancy after loss as you know is just a really tough time). Plus I had loads of pulling sensations in my lower abdomen over the weekend which was freaking me out as thought it's a bad sign (yes I hear you - round ligament pain - panic if get them, panic if don't get them). Got next scan tomorrow and expecting the worst despite seeing healthy baby heartbeat at last 3 scans. Just expecting this one to be where i all goes wrong again plus get Harmony test results on Friday. I basically a bag of nerves. In top of all that I've caught a cough and sore throat and although still getting nausea am ravenous. I feel like I'm always hungry.

Lovely to see so many of you lovely ladies joining us from the TTC thread. Wishing you all a H&H 40 weeks! Anyone got early scans booked?

Good luck to all those having scans this week! Keeping fx for you all.

I need to catch up on the thread, missed so much over the weekend.

@Beaglemum93 great news on your scan!

@Russkispy sorry the spotting started again. Really hoping your scan will show all is well and it's just implantation bleed.

On the POAS chat, yup, I lost count of how many IC's I got through plus 3 FRER's up until I got scanned at 7 weeks and saw a heartbeat. Then I think I did one more before 9 weeks scan. I totally get why we do it. Good on the ladies who have the control to stop now. I still have a massive stash of HPTs.

@Navy123 fx that was just IB and nothing sinister. Can understand not wanting to get hopes up though. It's a self preservation thing.

Hey @InDreamland, so sorry anxiety has been bad. I’m so glad to hear you’ve had positive scans but I can completely understand the anxiety. Mine kicked in today and I’ve felt awful, coupled with DH being sickeningly positive so I get how tough that can be. I made DH buy two more Frers as I only did one a few days ago. I’m 4 weeks now so hoping to get a much brighter line tomorrow. I’ve seen progression on the ics but just want to see that line on an FRER. It’s silly really as something could still be wrong but I just feel it will get me through the next couple of days until my scan. To think I was lonely and chilled on Saturday. Guess it’s just pregnancy after loss taking it’s toll. Xx

ReeReeR · 05/08/2019 18:29

Sorry you are struggling with the anxiety @InDreamland It’s so difficult and absolutely understandable. My DH also approaches things a bit differently. I still remember him saying my first pregnancy was “uneventful” was before we lost our daughter at 39+6. I’m bit suggesting there is a link of course but comments like that make me uneasy!

The fact is, as my midwife said to me earlier, we can’t see into the future but for now you are pregnant and we should plan for that. The odds are v much in favour of everything being perfectly fine.

Squiff70 · 05/08/2019 18:31

Hi everyone,

Thanks so much for asking after me. We had our scan this morning and they've dated the pregancy at 6+3. According to my LMP I'm 6+4, but anyway...

There wasn't one little heartbeat. There were two. Twins, again. For those of you who don't know, I lost twins at 19 weeks in January so everyone is absolutely gobsmacked that we're having twins again. To say I'm anxious would be an understatement. Two babies is double the risk of something going wrong.

This afternoon we saw the RMC consultant. He's prescribed baby aspirin to help reduce the risk of a placental bleed, and progesterone pessaries (nice) twice a day to help try to prevent another miscarriage.

Please please forgive me for just posting about myself then leaving without responding to some of the more recent posts. I'm cooking at the moment (and dinner is burning). I'll catch up with you all soon. Hope you're all okay xx

ReeReeR · 05/08/2019 18:34

Oh @Squiff70 How amazing?! Your anxiety is completely mature but that is good news! Hope you’re feeling ok. I will PM you later x

Bluebelltulip · 05/08/2019 18:34

@MyHeartIsBrokeButIHaveSomeGlue and @Amanda81 I feel this stage is quite odd regarding movements as they are irregular which is normal. I keep having to tell myself that I do not need to monitor them yet. I did get a nice moment earlier though, I was listening to music with DD who was dancing away and then felt this baby move too.

@InDreamland good luck for tomorrow.

I've felt quite good allday and have got quite a bit of housework done and also done a lot of playing with DD, it's been lovely feeling a bit more normal but my body has now told me to stop.

Bluebelltulip · 05/08/2019 18:36

Glad your can went well @Squiff70.

Catconfusion · 05/08/2019 18:36
