Hello Ladies

Starting a new penguin huddle thread as the first one is getting very full. This is for those of us who've graduated from the conception boards.

Getting a BFP after pregnancy loss is not necessarily a happy time so this is a safe place to vent, worry and share news (good, hopefully, or bad).

I hope you are all here for the long-haul. But you are welcome no matter how briefly.
Others who are pregnant after loss but who weren't on the original thread are of course welcome too.

Let's start the roll call:

Me:
No living children, 3rd pregnancy, currently 8+3. Had early scan at 7 weeks that showed baby measuring right for 7w with a heartbeat. Got another early viability scan booked in for this Tuesday at 8+6. Really scared I've lost this one again.
2 previous pregnancies ended in mmc at 12+3 (baby stopped growing at 5 weeks) in July 2018 and mc (CP but hate that term) in November 2018. Before then had been TTC for 5 years so our journey has been 6 years since starting to TTC.

Who have I missed?

@Amanda81 that is a beautiful scan photo, she is amazing! I can’t believe you are 18 weeks already. I remember when we both were just starting this journey after the terrible pain of our mmcs and it’s absolutely incredible to see you come so far and find this happiness now. Sending hugs back at you!

@rubyroot unfortunately even if there is a hb and sac it can still be a partial molar pregnancy. My last baby had a hb until 9w4d and it was a babyish shape - we only found out about the partial molar five weeks after my D&C, when they tested the tissue. So even a hb at the 7 week scan won’t rule it out :/. I’m not really sure if there are tests or not that can be done, but I guess we will find out. It’s an nhs ordered scan, so they probably want to check for something.

@Rmac90 thank you so much for your kind words, it really meant a lot. I’m glad that I’m not the only one who doesn’t get morning sickness. It would reassure me, as you said, but I guess it’s not a definitevly bad or good sign. You’ve been through so much already, I’m really glad your 9w4d scan went well. When is your next one? Xxx

@Bluebelltulip thanks for the gardening advice! It might give me an excuse to get DH to do it 😂.

Rmac90 · 27/07/2019 11:49

@sadtoday21 i think a lot of people are in the same boat just people dont talk about it mc is such a taboo subject when it shouldn't be! My private one is next saturday so i should be 10+6 then hopefully ☺️ xx

rubyroot · 27/07/2019 12:22

@sadtoday21 I didn't know that, that must have been tough. I guess the probability of it happening again is pretty low and if they know your history there must be checks they can do. Isn't there a higher hcg with molar pregnancies.

InDreamland · 27/07/2019 19:01

Thank you @Amanda81 @MyHeartIsBrokeButIHaveSomeGlue @rubyroot @Russkispy @DuvetCaterpillar @tinatsarina @Bluebelltulip @sadtoday21 @moonpeace @Newbie21

Got home from scan 30 mins ago. Had a but of a journey back - stupid central line, suspended last few stations so ended up having to get an uber the rest of the way back.

Am so relieved. Scan was fine. Baby measuring as it should for my dates, bang on. By LMP I'm 10+3 baby measuring 10+4 so that's spot on really. Heartbeat is 165bpm which panicked my as was 179 at 9w but was told it's correct for gestational age. Had bloods taken for harmony test. Couldn't decide if we wanted to know flavour so she's going to put it in an envelope for us so we can decide later. DH is worried that we'll be more upset knowing if we lose this one. I think it'll hurt the same regardless of whether we know sex or not but I just don't know if I want to know or want a surprise.

Ooops, forgot to attach piccie.

@Newbie21 @Amanda81 lovely scan pics too. So cute!

@moonpeace sorry you had that panic. That must have been absolutely awful for you. I'd have been beside myself with worry.

@MyHeartIsBrokeButIHaveSomeGlue yep we went to the fetal medicine centre. They're nice there.

@InDreamland that's fantastic! I'm so happy for you. When's your 12 week scan. The baby's heart beat will reduce a bit further as the pregnancy progresses down to 130 is normal tends to be around 140-150. When DD2 was poorly the fetal cardiologist said she's not overly concerned if the heart rate is between 120-190, once it goes over 200 it's too fast and under 120 is too low. There will also be natural accelerations and decelerations too. (Probably a bit more info than you needed).

Amanda81 · 27/07/2019 19:34

Amazing @InDreamland - looking like a wonderful little budda 😘 hope you are relaxing and enjoying the good news

VenusStarr · 27/07/2019 20:12

Beautiful scan pic @InDreamland 😍 so happy for you x

Russkispy · 27/07/2019 20:30

@InDreamland great news! Hope you're feeling a bit relaxed now. Got a tiny brown discharge spotting here and then but nothing major.

Newbie21 · 27/07/2019 20:53

@InDreamland lovely news and lovely pic. That's a good idea getting the sex in an envelope although I'm not sure I'd be able to resist not know if right in front of me. It's a tricky decision whether to find out or not. Hope the harmony results come back all ok.

@Russkispy glad the blood is only a bit of brown spotting now but must be very stressful for you.

@Amanda81 lovely scan pic.

Bluebelltulip · 27/07/2019 21:27

Glad it's changed to occasional spotting @Russkispy.

I'm feeling quite relaxed and happy tonight. I've felt quite a lot of movements tonight. I've had my appointment through for the heart scan but I'm going to have to rearrange it as I'm on holiday. Trying to see it as a positive thing, that any issues are found sooner but I know it will be hard as I had weekly heart scans with DD2.

rubyroot · 27/07/2019 21:35

Excellent @InDreamland I told you this is your rainbow x

sadtoday21 · 27/07/2019 21:52

Wonderful scan @InDreamland I am so happy for you! Try to enjoy it as long as possible xxx.

Beaglemum93 · 27/07/2019 22:07

Congratulations on all the good scans @InDreamland, @Amanda81, @KnitKitty and @Newbie21 (and anyone else I've missed - the thread has moved quickly since I was last on!)

I had a scan today too, he was much more cooperative this time than at the gender scan, very active and definitely a boy :) it was nice seeing him again. She said all was looking as it should but I'm still so nervous about the anomaly scan next week.

Our due dates are close @Amanda81, I'm 18+6 today.

Hope @Yukka is doing well with baby Yukka!

Newbie21 · 28/07/2019 05:22

@Beaglemum93 lovely scan. Best of luck for your anomaly scan, I'm sure all will be well.

I can't sleep! I tried to avoid looking at phone but boredom set in and I couldn't help it. I had same problem when pregnant with DS - wide awake between 4 and 6 at least. Back then I didn't have a 3 yr old to contend with during day!

Amanda81 · 28/07/2019 10:53

Lovely scan @Beaglemum93 very pleased all is going well - we are close aren't we! Only 5 days between us. Are you due just before Christmas? I'm due on the 27th Dec. Have you felt movement yet?

I wonder if it's worth doing a little roll call to see when all of our due dates are...I'll start...when responding copy the ones that have already been listed and add yours in to date order...

@Amanda81 38 - 18+2 - EDD 27/12/19

Happy Sunday everyone xx

Beaglemum93 · 28/07/2019 11:01

@Amanda81 I'm due just before Christmas. Was due Christmas day by LMP! I've felt what could have been movements a couple of times but nothing definitive. I have an anterior placenta though. Have you?

I had a shit allergic reaction to my horse on Friday and my eye is still really swollen. I haven't dared use anything but I'm wondering whether to go to pharmacy tomorrow if it hasn't gone down.

Beaglemum93 · 28/07/2019 14:54

See a doctor @Frillyfarmer, the pharmacy can't recommend anything for allergic reactions in pregnancy. Hope it gets better before tomorrow though. Have you tried bathing your eye with boiled and cooled water in case something is stuck in it?

Amanda81 · 28/07/2019 15:27

Leap year baby @Frillyfarmer - wow! I hope your eye soothes before tomorrow.

At 14 weeks the sonographer said my placenta looked to be anterior, but when I had my scan on Thursday she said it was fundal, with a bit at the back and a bit at the front...so perhaps it's moved when my bump has grown.
