The Graduates of TTC after pregnancy loss thread #2 "The Penguin Huddle " 🐧🐧🐧

Hello Ladies

Starting a new penguin huddle thread as the first one is getting very full. This is for those of us who've graduated from the conception boards.

Getting a BFP after pregnancy loss is not necessarily a happy time so this is a safe place to vent, worry and share news (good, hopefully, or bad).

I hope you are all here for the long-haul. But you are welcome no matter how briefly.
Others who are pregnant after loss but who weren't on the original thread are of course welcome too.

Let's start the roll call:

Me:
No living children, 3rd pregnancy, currently 8+3. Had early scan at 7 weeks that showed baby measuring right for 7w with a heartbeat. Got another early viability scan booked in for this Tuesday at 8+6. Really scared I've lost this one again.
2 previous pregnancies ended in mmc at 12+3 (baby stopped growing at 5 weeks) in July 2018 and mc (CP but hate that term) in November 2018. Before then had been TTC for 5 years so our journey has been 6 years since starting to TTC.

@Yukka what marvellous news, so many congratulations, am thrilled for you! Your daughter is gorgeous, and good luck for this next phase of craziness!

@newbie21 Great news that you had such a positive scan and saw the baby - what a relief this must be for you. Enjoy the feeling.

@milkjetmum Am thinking of you tonight - it must be so difficult to be here again after everything. I wish there was something that could be done to save you this pain. Wishing you peace xx

coconutlatte44 · 18/07/2019 22:44

@Yukka congratulations!!! Hope you are recovering well 😊

@Newbie21, great news on your scan, I can really relate to that sense of relief! Hope it keeps going well and you can relax a bit.

@rubyroot Good luck with your scan tomorrow.

@FirstTimeMama91, hope you're looking after yourself and we'll see you back soon!

InDreamland · 18/07/2019 23:09

Eeeaaakkkkkk CONGRATULATIONS @Yukka she is gorgeous! Wow, that was fast! Our first baby of the thread! YAY!!! You must be so thrilled and on cloud nine. Hope you're doing well too x

@rubyroot those HCG levels sound great, supposed to double every 48 hours so really excited for your scan tomorrow. Hope it goes well.

@Newbie21 great news on your scan. So lovely you saw baby moving around and got video clips. Fx for nice clear results.

@milkjetmum sorry you have to wait until Tuesday, I can't believe they won't see you immediately. Our EPU has a turn up suit and wait system, as long as your register before 4pm they'll see you. Really hoping this will still be okay for you and it's just a scare.

@Amanda81 can you maybe book in for an earlier private scan just to help with the anxiety? 2 weeks is ages to wait when you're anxious.

@Ginmonkey84 they're great HCG rising levels.

@MyHeartIsBrokeButIHaveSomeGlue your anxiety is not surprising, I think I'd be the same. Your doing amazingly well. The extra scan will be worth it.

@Yukka congratulations she is so cute :) well done. I hope labour went smoothly for you.

@rubyroot those levels sound good going up is what you want.

SerenaOverjoyed · 18/07/2019 23:40

@Yukka wow😍 she's absolutely perfect! You must be so proud❤

@amanda81 an anterior placenta isn't so bad, at least it's out of the way! The placenta can move though. Movements feel different for everyone. 'Popping' feelings or flutters are common early on, but for me it felt like a little twitch, then like a tapping. Try not to worry about it as it means nothing before 24wks. After 24wks they would just do monitoring, sometimes women just don't recognise the movements.. my MW said my baby actually kicked the doppler at 18wks but I didn't feel it!

@rubyroot beautiful HCG rise, just what you want Smile I think seeing a yolk sac is more consistent when it's over 7000, so I wouldn't panic if there's not much to see tomorrow. With rises like that you'd be likely to have a better image on a scan next week. Good luck! x

Today was my due date. I feel infuruatingly fine 😂

rubyroot · 19/07/2019 00:32

@Newbie21 great news on the scan, I hear there's quite a bit they can see on the scan before you even get your harmony results. Hope the wait goes fast for you x.

@Indreamland How's the
orangey wee? Less dehydrated today.

@SerenaOverjoyed thanks for the info. I won't panic. I know the hcg levels don't mean the pregnancy will be successful of course, but it makes me think these pains can't be anything too sinister or else surely something would be happening by now.

Ive got further than I did last month anyhow. That's all I'm thinking for now.

Newbie21 · 19/07/2019 00:46

Ladies, thank you all so much. For me, this scan was the big one. Last scan was at 8w1d. My first loss was between weeks 8 and 9 and I found out when I went for my harmony test in the very same room as I was in today. So to get the picture up and immediately see a baby waving at us was the most amazing sight. Today, I'm going to allow us to get that little bit excited. I know it's still early days but I'm going to believe that this is going to work out.

In the run up to the scan I was quite stressed so disappeared for a few days although I would check in from time to time but I'm going to catch up on what is going on with you all. I hope the anxiety is at bay for you all.

Newbie21 · 19/07/2019 01:12

@milkjetmum sorry to hear what you are going through. I understand the position you are in. I had 3 miscarriages last year and I was so fed up. The consultant I spoke to was amazing though and basically told me that this journey would be about staying strong and being supported. He didn't think there was any particular fertility issue although I was just starting all the checks when I fell pregnant this time. He said it was likely going to take a bit longer and it was about how long I could keep the strength up trying. I have to say, when I started all the recurrent miscarriage checks I think, oddly it relaxed me as I felt like I was doing something to help work things out and it took the pressure of conceiving in the next cycle since I was prepared to start the recurrent miscarriage journey and trying different things. That I think helped and I fell pregnant and so far so good. I really hope that the bleeding you have experienced is something else and all is well. But if it isn't then give yourself time and support but don't lose hope. My thoughts are with you and my fingers firmly crossed 🤞 x

Amanda81 · 19/07/2019 05:39

Hey @InDreamland - ordinarily I would pop along for a scan. But I am away on a holiday for 2 weeks - I've booked a scan for the day after I return. Holidays are great, but the anxiety does creep back in and you just have to find a way of controlling it. Hope you are well.

Thanks for the advice @SerenaOverjoyed - very helpful

Laney79 · 19/07/2019 06:17

Ah! @Yukka congratulations! She's beautiful! Welcome to the world little one xxx

MyHeartIsBrokeButIHaveSomeGlue · 19/07/2019 08:53

Placenta buddies! @Amanda81 @SerenaOverjoyed ! What I have felt is definitely pops. I recognise it from with my DD. It's like little bubbles low down on my left side (placenta is apparently at the front but to the right). But easily missable and hardly frequent or consistent. Sonographer didn't expect mine to move and actually when she showed it me on the scan (a big grey mass) it makes sense how much it blocks movements.

How was last night @Yukka? I remember finding the first few weeks with DD being really hard but now I would give anything to sit around feeding and enjoying snuggles! I don't get much chance to sit still anymore! Anyway, its amazing but a rollercoaster and I hope you and Baby Yukka are doing well.

Hope you're both still feeling positive @InDreamland and @Newbie21. I like your way of thinking @Newbie21, just wish I could do it for longer than a week! Are you all ready for your DS birthday?

Your meeting sounds hideous @Frillyfarmer. I find work quite hard sometimes, especially since I'm still feeling nauseous.

Levels look good @rubyroot. Hopefully they keep rising and good luck for the scan xxx

Hope everyone else has good Fridays xxx

Newbie21 · 19/07/2019 09:07

@MyHeartIsBrokeButIHaveSomeGlue we're getting there on the birthday prep. Got a lot of wrapping to do tonight! His best pre-school buddy's birthday is tomorrow so we are going to a party for him and then it will be Woburn Safari Park on Sunday, his birthday, then Hever Castle on Monday. William is v excited about getting a cake.

rubyroot · 19/07/2019 09:16

I also had anterior placenta. Though it didn't really affect movements with me. I have a theory if you have sex on your tummy you have anterior. Let me know your thoughts 😂
