Hello,

Starting a new penguin huddle for those of us who've graduated from the conception boards.

As I said in the old TTC thread, getting a BFP after pregnancy loss is not necessarily a happy time so this is a safe place to vent, worry and share news (good, hopefully, or bad).

I hope you are all here for the long-haul. But you are welcome no matter how briefly.
Others who are pregnant after loss but who weren't on the original thread are of course welcome too.

My stats:
TTC since Dec 2017
Age: 31
TTC no.1
1 MMC and 3 early losses between 4-5 weeks (or, CPs, but I hate that term) all happened last year within the space of 10 months.
Currently 6+1 with 5th pregnancy

@InDreamland @moonpeace @Bluebelltulip @hayleyfx @Laney79 Please add others I may have forgotten!

@Bluebelltulip we see the midwife for booking in and other appointments at the local hospital. Only plus is it's close by and plenty of free parking on site.

@Kintan the 24 knicker watch is so stressful isn't it.

@Laney79 try to remember that symptoms come and go. Is natural to worry though after a loss. Hope you enjoy the all inclusive.

@niamhzs hope you're ok. What type of pains? Pulling and cramping? I've been getting really uncomfortable feelings like mild pulling prodding sensations all across my lower abdomen and pelvic area today and almost feel like I have a really uncomfortable tampon in. A bit worrying. Or is yours really painful?

So typical, 10 mins before I leave the office I start feeling heady. Goodness I felt rough coming home on the tube, really dizzy.

Newbie21 · 13/06/2019 19:20

Thanks ladies. I recall having it with my son but I was sure it was much later. Glad it seems to be normal though!

niamhzs · 13/06/2019 19:21

@InDreamland , like cramping but a few sharp twinges. I'm extremely bloated and constipated so I'm hoping it's that as I suffer with IBS too and it feels quite similar. I'm really hoping for this to be my rainbow.

Newbie21 · 13/06/2019 19:26

@niamhzs I have a similar feeling and am so bloated. I'm constipated in that I'm not going regularly but when I do it isn't painful if that makes sense. The cramp now feels like an ache across my lower abdomen. It's not painful but I am aware of it. I think it's the bloating that is causing it.

@Kintan hello! I remember you. Congratulations on the new pregnancy. I really hope this one sticks. I'm glad you've had a good scan already.

@Dramaqueen14 I'm sorry you're anxiety is worse today. I think we become even more hyper-aware of symptoms (or lack of them) around the time of previous losses and we worry more. The cramping could have still been a pregnancy symptoms during your last pregnancy, and it's coincidental that it didn't end well... it wasn't necessarily a sign of you losing the pregnancy. (Does that make sense?)
Rant away, that's what we're here for! Hugs xxx

@MyHeartIsBrokeButIHaveSomeGlue Of course I remember you! Welcome and thanks for dropping in! I had a break from the other thread for a couple of months a while back because I found it triggering sometimes, but you've just got to do what you've got to do. Drop in if you need support, but don't feel you need to avidly read everyone's posts if it's too hard for you.
Wanting to be hopeful but not daring to be is a really difficult emotion to deal with. Hopefully it'll come with time and the longer this pregnancy lasts the more comfortable you'll feel.
I'm glad I'm not the only one with massively fluctuating morning sickness.

@Laney79 From what I've read morning sickness can ease from 9+ weeks... It may come back again or it might have just settled down. I know any change in symptom is soooo nerve-wracking. Big hugs. (Also could be because you've been relaxing on holiday so it's helped ease the symptoms).
It's totally understandable having those few days of reassurance after a healthy scan and then starting to worry again. Just try to repeat some positive mantras and take each day at a time. You're doing so well!

@niamhzs I'm sorry you're in pain lovely. It could be ligaments or even your bowel. Rest as much as you can and drink lots of water.

I managed to get through today without any melt-downs. I think the acupuncture has helped me stay calm. My scan is at 9am tomorrow. I'm really pleased I don't have to wait all day for it.
I hope everyone is ok this evening?

@Newbie21 remember that every pregnancy is different.

@niamhzs does sound like early pregnancy signs I've read about although it didn't stop you worrying right? I write this as someone who had been in a panic all day because it's uncomfortable to sit because I feel like there's loads of pressure down below and prodding sensations the entire day on and off. Hope you're ok.

@moonpeace I pulled out of the gun clad I was booked into. Just no energy tonight plus after feeling light headed on the tube on way home I didn't want to feel dizzy in class. I think you feeling light headed and shattered is a good sign.

@KnitKitty great you managed to survive today. Glad you're first up for the scan, no waiting around. Fx you see a healthy heartbeat.

Kintan · 13/06/2019 21:43

@KnitKitty Hello to you too ❤️ I remember you were super kind to me on the other thread. I’m glad your scan is early tomorrow so you won’t be waiting around all day. I’ll be keeping everything crossed for you x

Lots of anxious people on this thread including me, I hope we can all have a calmish evening. It’s pretty normal for symptoms to come and go in the first trimester it seems, and the growing and stretching pains are normal too, but that doesn’t help with our worrying! x

MyHeartIsBrokeButIHaveSomeGlue · 13/06/2019 21:44

Thanks @KnitKitty and @moonpeace! I feel much more comfortable here with people who "get it". I have been reading the due in January board but I just feel so jaded compared to those people! I don't want to bring them down!

How many weeks are you @KnitKitty? Good luck for your scan xxx

@moonpeace time has dragged so much so it feels like the first trimester has been going on for years! How are you getting on?

I am always on knicker watch @Newbie21. I find myself holding my breathe every time and scrutinising the toilet paper. It's exhausting.

Bluebelltulip · 13/06/2019 21:50

@MyHeartIsBrokeButIHaveSomeGlue I find that with that thread too, I try to be more positive on there but sometimes I end up saying something anyway. I don't want to scare people and I don't want blind sympathy but I also don't think it's a good idea to hide my loss either.

Newbie21 · 13/06/2019 21:53

@MyHeartIsBrokeButIHaveSomeGlue I know what you mean. I am on the due Feb thread and I got worried that I would stress people out but I can't help worrying about things. I'm glad I found this thread with some familiar names and ladies who understand the anxiety and can put up with the silly questions.

I'm totally on knicker watch. I have found myself holding the tissue up to the light to make sure there is no tinge of pink!!! I can't help it!

KnitKitty · 13/06/2019 21:59

@MyHeartIsBrokeButIHaveSomeGlue I'll be 6+6 tomorrow.

This pregnancy is the only one I've had no bleeding, and the first one I've had any nausea or sickness. But I'm putting the no bleeding down to being on progesterone pessaries and now the sickness has disappeared I'm not feeling hopeful. I'll be surprised even if they see a fetal pole tomorrow, let alone if there is a heartbeat! I've really struggled to accept that I'm pregnant at all. I was taking pregnancy tests every 4 days for the first two weeks and had to concede that they were all positive so I probably was pregnant. I just have no idea how much of the worrying and 'gut feelings' are just anxiety or if any of it is because I genuinely 'know' something's wrong. I guess I'll find out tomorrow!

Stay strong ladies!!

coconutlatte44 · 13/06/2019 22:26

@KnitKitty - good luck, my scan is at 9 am as well. I'll be keeping my fingers crossed for both of us.

Newbie21 · 13/06/2019 22:53

@KnitKitty and @coconutlatte44 best of luck with your scans tomorrow. Fingers crossed for you both x

InDreamland · 13/06/2019 22:56

@Kintan any idea how we can differentiate between the growing and stretching pains to something we should actually be worried about/ bad sign?

@MyHeartIsBrokeButIHaveSomeGlue @Newbie21 I feel the same, had a read of the due February thread and I just can't join it. Here is where I belong. I'm with you on the 24 hour knicker watch. I'm still wearing a thin pad or liner just in case I start bleeding. Mc is a head f**k and pregnancy after loss is just the most anxious time ever.

@KnitKitty really keeping all fingers and toes crossed for you in the morning.

@moonpeace I'm glad I rested tonight. I had the same thought about pink and purple patterns on the pad/liner. So unnecessary. Totally get the wanting to reach and pass the points of losing previous pregnancies. First once for me is to get past 4+5 that was mc#2. Mc#1 though was mmc, discovered at 11+4 passed at 12+3 but only measured 5 weeks. I won't feel better I think until there's a happy baby in my arms at home.

@coconutlatte44 good luck for your scan tomorrow too. Exciting both of you are at 9am. I'm gonna keep checking in to see your updates. Hope you see a strong heartbeat.

niamhzs · 13/06/2019 23:51

Hi guys, going from earlier when I said I had pains, it now burns when I wee do you think I possibly have a UTI? I've been urinating frequently but just put that down to pregnancy.

Beaglemum93 · 14/06/2019 00:03

It does sound like it could be a UTI @niamhzs. Call your GP in the morning x

Beaglemum93 · 14/06/2019 00:04

Good luck for your scans tomorrow @KnitKitty and @coconutlatte44. Let us know how you get on. I've got my fingers crossed all is well for you! X

KnitKitty · 14/06/2019 07:18

Thank you ladies. I'll let you know how it goes.

Good luck @coconutlatte44, thinking of you.

@InDreamland Ohh I don’t know, that’s what makes it so nerve-wracking! I do remember getting lots of pains and twinges within my son and that was a really straightforward pregnancy, but with my second pregnancy I didn’t really have any and that ended in a miscarriage. It’s just so hard to know what to worry about and what is normal so I end up just worrying about everything! x

Good luck with the scans today @KnitKitty and @coconutlatte44 x

Melpops36 · 14/06/2019 08:01

Good luck with scans, thinking of you

Zznorth · 14/06/2019 08:52

Hey all,

I wasn't on the TTC after pregnancy loss thread but you all sound like my people. It's reassuring to know that others find going to the loo stressful. I'm right at the start of this journey (again) but got my first positive almost a week ago and everyday feels so long!!

Just wondering if anyone else here has participated in an RMC trials and how that's affecting your feelings about this pregnancy?

My stats:
TTC on and off since March 2017
Age: 29
TTC no.1
1 MMC July 2017
1 MC October 2017
Currently 4+3

KnitKitty · 14/06/2019 10:41

Quick update from the hospital. The scan went well! Measuring around 1cm which places me just over 7 weeks. We saw the heartbeat which was very emotional because I've never got this far before.
Obviously the symptoms going was nothing to worry about.
Will write more later. Smile

Thank you for all your positive thoughts and well wishes.
