Hello,

Starting a new penguin huddle for those of us who've graduated from the conception boards.

As I said in the old TTC thread, getting a BFP after pregnancy loss is not necessarily a happy time so this is a safe place to vent, worry and share news (good, hopefully, or bad).

I hope you are all here for the long-haul. But you are welcome no matter how briefly.
Others who are pregnant after loss but who weren't on the original thread are of course welcome too.

My stats:
TTC since Dec 2017
Age: 31
TTC no.1
1 MMC and 3 early losses between 4-5 weeks (or, CPs, but I hate that term) all happened last year within the space of 10 months.
Currently 6+1 with 5th pregnancy

@InDreamland @moonpeace @Bluebelltulip @hayleyfx @Laney79 Please add others I may have forgotten!

Also thinking about you today @InDreamland hope all is okay. x

InDreamland · 03/07/2019 23:19

@Yukka @KnitKitty @Newbie21 @MyHeartIsBrokeButIHaveSomeGlue @rubyroot thank you for checking in and thanks to all you ladies for the good wishes today. Sorry it's so late, DH and I were hungry after the scan and then decided to just go out for dinner. Then been advising a family member on a work issue they have.

So ...............there is a strong heartbeat and am measuring 7w exactly apparently which tallys with LMP date. Still trying to get my head around it all as I had planned to get bad news. Very early days still though so still thinking we will be heart broken again. One day at a time I think but ........ today I am pregnant!

Thank you all so much for all your love and support. What would I do without you?

@Yukka great news! Can't believe in 3 weeks you'll be holding your baby Yukka!

rubyroot · 03/07/2019 23:24

YESYESYESYESYES

This is so exciting...let's hope the bubs continues. Perhaps get a scan around 10 weeks before your 12 week scan to reduce anxiety.

Really lovely, excellent news- super happy for you. The right sperm got there

InDreamland · 03/07/2019 23:33

Thank you @rubyroot. You're way more excited than us. We're sil realistic that it's still early, anything can happen but will definitely need to find a clinic to do another scan ....... this clinic are going on holiday for 3 weeks so the lovely consultant said unfortunately she won't be able to fit us in now until they're back at the end of the month. She suggested finding another place for a scan in 2 weeks time or asking GP to refer to EPU for an early scan because of anxiety.

InDreamland · 03/07/2019 23:35

Picture? ..... The Blob!

Yes- I understand your anxiety, really I do. I think 10 weeks is probably a good time as if there are any serious issues you might be able to pick stuff up around then?!

But, you didn't believe you would get this far and you have. It is just as likely to work out isn't it. The healthy sperm might have just won the race- let's hope so.

I deffo think you should get GP to refer, you deserve a free scan. As I said my GP referred me quite happily for a scan at 7 weeks- as you know I never got there.

rubyroot · 03/07/2019 23:39

N'aaawww that's a great looking blob!

Newbie21 · 04/07/2019 00:04

Fantastic news @InDreamland Totally understand the need to stay grounded. I definitely think regular scans will help. I've booked my harmony test and scan for when I'm 10w4d (18 Jul) which seems a while away at the moment but then if I can get to that I then only have a few weeks until the 12 week scan which is the big milestone that I'm desperate to get to. A scan around the 10w mark will certainly help a little I would think. The anxiety does kick in harder as the time since last scan increases. But... today you are indeed pregnant 😊

MyHeartIsBrokeButIHaveSomeGlue · 04/07/2019 05:51

YEEESSSSSSSSS @InDreamland!!! I was getting worried there! What a great looking blob! One day at a day and I definitely echo the others in saying book another scan.

Laney79 · 04/07/2019 06:31

Great news @InDreamland -have everything crossed for you x

VenusStarr · 04/07/2019 06:44

@InDreamland 😍 beautiful blob. Today you are pregnant!! So happy for you.

👋 Hi everyone... Back to lurking but hopefully I can join you properly soon... X

Bluebelltulip · 04/07/2019 06:46

Yay @InDreamland, that's great news. Take one step at a time, things are going well so far and hopefully continues to do so.

Frillyfarmer · 04/07/2019 07:06

Such lovely news @InDreamland I hope this one is your rainbow xx

KnitKitty · 04/07/2019 07:12

@VenusStarr I'm so sorry that you're back to lurking. Huge hugs. Are you doing ok? I hope to see you posting positive news here again soon. xxxx

@InDreamland Fantastic news!!! Yey! Have you seen a heartbeat on a scan before? It's a really, really good sign that it's measuring as you would expect and the heartbeat is visible... I know there are still concerns because of the sperm issue, but this feels different to the other pregnancies... I hope you can enjoy the pregnancy a bit more now.

@Yukka Your pregnancy does seem to have gone really quickly! And 3 weeks are going to pass in a blink of an eye!!! How exciting!
Thanks for the tip about the Mother's Balm. I think using stuff like that probably does help; but I think there might be some genetics in there too.
I actually think stretch-marks are quite beautiful so I won't be too sad if I get some; but I shall try to avoid being riddled with them.

@Amanda81 I'm really glad you told the midwife. I'm sorry you felt a bit fobbed off though. It sounds like if you need to they will offer more support though, and that's the thing to focus on. Don't be afraid to ask again. Have you looked in to counselling?
I'm glad the scan went well.

I'm doing ok. Sickness hasn't been quite as bad this week... Only thrown up once about 4 days ago. But I'm really struggling to get up in the mornings and having lots of dreams!
I did have a really cute dream about a swaddled baby the other night and woke up feeling all happy. Grin
Last night I dreamt Kit Harington arrived at my work place and people were flapping with excitement... I was very blasé and said I'd seen him before and he's just a man... (In real life I would probably be star-struck, but good to know my unconscious is super cool...)

Amazing news @InDreamland! I'm so happy for you :)

tinatsarina · 04/07/2019 07:35

@InDreamland brilliant news for u the scan picture is very good :)

On another note I feel like my symptoms are disappearing. I'm 6+1 I thought they got stronger at 6 weeks. I'm looking into booking a private scan. I'm not sure my GP will refer for a reassurance one as I've only had one MC

Melpops36 · 04/07/2019 07:35

@InDreamland wow! Fantastic news. So happy for you

KnitKitty · 04/07/2019 07:45

@tinatsarina My symptoms disappeared around then for about 4 days and then came back worse than before. Could be psychological or just hormones doing their own thing. You can always check with your GP first; but yes, book yourself an early scan in for some reassurance. xx

@Laney79 How are you doing hun? I was thinking earlier about how amazingly you've coped on this journey with your medical fears/phobias. You're a very strong woman. Smile

Great news @InDreamland - it's reassuring to see a flickering blob on the screen. Take each day at a time, and definitely get another scan booked in.

MyHeartIsBrokeButIHaveSomeGlue · 04/07/2019 07:51

@tinatsarina my sickness kicked in at exactly 7 weeks - there was nothing before then. It still comes and goes which I think is normal due to fluctuating hormones. Also I find I feel loads better when I have slept and eaten well and kept active (even just a walk) so perhaps you will find more of a pattern soon. I am all for early scans. Anything that makes you feel better! The first trimester is so lonely and worrying, I can't believe we have to wait to 12 weeks for a scan!

Yukka · 04/07/2019 08:02

@InDreamland BOOM!!! Yes!!! Such good news I'm so pleased! It is early but keep putting those positive pants on every day. I would deff discuss with GP now re epu referral to have one or two scans before 12wks, it will help with your anxiety a lot.

@KnitKitty love the dream, I'd work there 😂

@tinatsarina symptoms do vary so much in the beginning, I didn't really have a lot till 8/9 weeks with this one. If you can afford a scan they do often help to put immediate worries at bay, but you can give it a day or so and see if things pick up. They can be so mild that you don't realise they are there x

nzs2019 · 04/07/2019 08:06

Congratulations @InDreamland so pleased for you.
I asked my midwife about extra scans and she said they are not able to just refer me. Do you think my GP will be able to?

nzs2019 · 04/07/2019 08:09

I really want to get a private but I've just been away on holiday and don't have that sort of money right now

Mistymeow · 04/07/2019 08:19

Delurking (hi everyone!) to tell @InDreamland how pleased I am! That’s so wonderful that everything is measuring as it should and with a strong heartbeat. It’s such a good sign. If you don’t have any joy with EPU the Fetal Medicine Centre are meant to be really good (based in central London so you can go after work) and all their profits go towards research and training. Ultrasound Direct were also very good with me. I think if I get pregnant again I will go for the harmony test so you might want to consider it for extra reassurance.

Beaglemum93 · 04/07/2019 08:20

It'd be worth asking your GP @nzs2019, the worst they can say is no. In my area midwives can't refer you for early scans, only doctors can.
