The Graduates of TTC after pregnancy loss thread

Hello,

Starting a new penguin huddle for those of us who've graduated from the conception boards.

As I said in the old TTC thread, getting a BFP after pregnancy loss is not necessarily a happy time so this is a safe place to vent, worry and share news (good, hopefully, or bad).

I hope you are all here for the long-haul. But you are welcome no matter how briefly.
Others who are pregnant after loss but who weren't on the original thread are of course welcome too.

My stats:
TTC since Dec 2017
Age: 31
TTC no.1
1 MMC and 3 early losses between 4-5 weeks (or, CPs, but I hate that term) all happened last year within the space of 10 months.
Currently 6+1 with 5th pregnancy

@InDreamland @moonpeace @Bluebelltulip @hayleyfx @Laney79 Please add others I may have forgotten!

Thanks ladies. I'm trying to psyche myself up and prepare for the worst. Ready to hear "are you sure your dates are right?" and/or "I'm so sorry" because that is what I've had with the last two. Why does this have to happen?

InDreamland · 03/07/2019 08:11

@KnitKitty how are you feeling today? How's the sickness and exhaustion? If things by some miracle are ok tonight I'll have to try what you do. I'm better at giving advice than listening to my own.

How's everyone else today?

I'm so aware I'm likely to be the next one to have a loss on this thread.

Bluebelltulip · 03/07/2019 08:52

My thoughts are with you today @InDreamland, I think all of us can probably relate to dreading hearing the same words we heard before, I know I will never forget them. I'm really hoping it's a happy scan for you Flowers

Beaglemum93 · 03/07/2019 10:02

Thinking of you today @InDreamland. I have everything crossed for you that you'll see a healthy little bean today! I know you are struggling to be hopeful (so was/am I before every scan) but there is a chance that everything is ok. Third time lucky! X

Good luck today @Yukka! X

Constance1234 · 03/07/2019 10:12

@KnitKitty @Newbie21 @theAntsareMyFriends @Yukka @InDreamland. Thank you all so much for your kind world’s, they are so very much appreciated x

InDreamland I am keeping everything crossed for your scan x

theAntsareMyFriends · 03/07/2019 10:16

@InDreamland I hope the scan goes well and that you have good news. You must be a bag of nerves today but I hope you are able to distract yourself a bit.

@Yukka good luck!!!

@KnitKitty I'm sorry to hear you a feeling so rough. How far along are you? I hope it eases soon as its not easy to get through the day when you feel like you have a 24/7 hangover.

theAntsareMyFriends · 03/07/2019 10:19

@Newbie21 thanks for the reassurance from one Christmas/new year birthday to another. I like the idea of it continuing the festive season. I'm usually a few days early so who knows, I could get the first baby of the year. Although I have a load of cloth nappies from my other two so the pampers may not be quite so useful!

Beaglemum93 · 03/07/2019 10:29

@theAntsareMyFriends if I'm 9 days late I could be competing for the first baby in the year haha although I suspect they'll either be born on Christmas Day or DH's birthday.

tinatsarina · 03/07/2019 12:23

@InDreamland thinking of you today FX it's a healthy one

@KnitKitty hope your feeling better.

I still haven't made a drs appointment to get referred and I'm 6 weeks. The only person who knows is my partner. I might get him to book an appointment for next week

Yukka · 03/07/2019 12:31

Hi ladies.. good news from me today, baby is doing well, growth has continued at the same rate, today's estimated weight is 6lb 9oz. Still head down, and blood flow through umbilical chord, through baby's head and through my arteries and placenta was normal.

Baby is 2/5th engaged today so already on the right track :)

Phew!!

So....24th July. 3 weeks today! Can't believe it really, feels very surreal, I don't feel like I've been pregnant long enough at all to be giving birth in 3weeks even though I 'committed ' to the positivity of it early on. I'm sure this will be the sand for you all too once you pass the 12 weeks mark.

Thanks everyone for asking after us x

Fingers crossed for tonight @InDreamland

Yukka · 03/07/2019 12:33

@tinatsarina do you mean referred to midwife or epu, you might not need a referral? For midwife you can often do this online, fill out a form and they will send you details of booking appointment xx

tinatsarina · 03/07/2019 12:38

@Yukka I'm in northern Ireland and I'm not sure if we can self refer or not lol

Yukka · 03/07/2019 12:46

@tinatsarina if you have a look on your local hospital website in the maternity section it should tell you but yes, could be different in NI.

Also ladies midwife 'took a gasp' when she saw I had no stretch marks - whilst I've gained zero weight other than the baby, I used Mothers Balm from Neals Yard from about 18w onwards a few times a week - so just a little recommendation for you. It's a completely natural chemical free product.

Amanda81 · 03/07/2019 12:47

Aww congratulations @yukka - amazing news! So very happy to hear that all is progressing and baby is growing well.

Thanks for the advice @KnitKitty - I did tell the MW today and she wants to see me when I return from holiday (when I'll be 18 weeks - hopefully). She said we can then look at options depending on how I'm feeling. Did feel a little fobbed off, but can see that the NHS is struggling with resources. The extra scans are very helpful with reducing the anxiety. I sneaked in another one last night, and the sonographer was great. She showed us that baby has started to swallow as she could see the kidneys functioning, she also showed me four chambers of the heart - certainly reassured me. I just need to enjoy these times where I don't feel rough and have minimal pregnancy symptoms.

I hope you are holding it together @InDreamland and finding work distracting. Good luck with the scan, I have everything crossed for you.

Bluebelltulip · 03/07/2019 13:05

That's great news @Yukka with my eldest I remember saying to DH when I was in labour 'I'm actually having a baby' it didn't feel real until she was here.

MyHeartIsBrokeButIHaveSomeGlue · 03/07/2019 13:48

Great news @yukka! So pleased for you! It will definitely feel even more surreal when the baby is here - I remember just looking at DD in amazement!! We will need a Graduate Graduates thread 😜

Re the stretch marks (and I don't mean to sound like a negative nancy) but I remember my midwife saying something similar to me but also telling me they often appear after giving birth. She was right in my case, although they aren't too bad!

@tinatsarina definitely check as in my area you have to be referred via the GP. However after having an ectopic I had to self refer to the EPU this pregnancy and then they referred me to the midwives.

I hope you're doing ok @InDreamland Xxx

Frillyfarmer · 03/07/2019 16:18

Great news @Yukka

I used ame pure and had absolutely no stretch marks at all until literally the month before I was due, and by the end I was riddled, although I had PE so some quite severe swelling in the last week didn't help!

Bluebelltulip · 03/07/2019 16:24

I had stretch marks appear after DD1 too @MyHeartIsBrokeButIHaveSomeGlue they did fade well though. I have marks higher up from the sudden increase in fluid from DD2's heart condition which haven't had much chance to fade but have got a lot better. I hope you stay stretch mark free @Yukka, my mum doesn't have any after 3 of us.

Beaglemum93 · 03/07/2019 19:08

That's great news @Yukka! Only three weeks til you get to meet your little one! Glad to hear all is looking well with them :)

Yukka · 03/07/2019 20:53

Thanks Ladies :)

Any news from @InDreamland yet? Think scan was 6:45 . .

Melpops36 · 03/07/2019 21:01

@yukka I know I keep checking. I’m keeping everything crossed for her.

Melpops36 · 03/07/2019 21:01

Great news by the way @yukka so pleased for you

KnitKitty · 03/07/2019 21:24

Great news @Yukka. Grin
