Hello,

Starting a new penguin huddle for those of us who've graduated from the conception boards.

As I said in the old TTC thread, getting a BFP after pregnancy loss is not necessarily a happy time so this is a safe place to vent, worry and share news (good, hopefully, or bad).

I hope you are all here for the long-haul. But you are welcome no matter how briefly.
Others who are pregnant after loss but who weren't on the original thread are of course welcome too.

My stats:
TTC since Dec 2017
Age: 31
TTC no.1
1 MMC and 3 early losses between 4-5 weeks (or, CPs, but I hate that term) all happened last year within the space of 10 months.
Currently 6+1 with 5th pregnancy

@InDreamland @moonpeace @Bluebelltulip @hayleyfx @Laney79 Please add others I may have forgotten!

@InDreamland I had the same pains with my first and I've just started to get them again this weekend. My toddler woke at 5am for the day and I already feel absolutely exhausted.

InDreamland · 01/07/2019 09:17

@Frillyfarmer I almost marked my place on that thread yesterday when I saw it as I've also been reading trying to keep up with how everyone is doing. Guess the reaction though a few weeks ago which prompted the start of this thread stopped me from doing it as I was worried about exactly what you have experienced. I totally agree with you and I never want to go back on there but I fear with DH's sperm results it's more than likely I will. It's sad but at the same time guess I get why the ladies there want their space. Anyway, I really hope we all stay here and never have to go back to that thread because none of us should experience any more heartbreak x

InDreamland · 01/07/2019 09:21

Found the appendix, I think my "pulled muscle" is just below. Hmmmm 🤔

FirstTimeMama91 · 01/07/2019 10:01

I phoned EPU there so I have a scan tomorrow. This is going to be the longest day ever Sad doesn't feel good tbh. Have like a dull heaviness cramp and still bleeding brown 💔

MyHeartIsBrokeButIHaveSomeGlue · 01/07/2019 10:09

Oh @FirstTimeMama91 I'm so sorry you're going trough this. The waiting is the worst. What is the bleeding like? Is it just when you wipe?

FirstTimeMama91 · 01/07/2019 10:13

@MyHeartIsBrokeButIHaveSomeGlue it's still brown but it's heavy enough. When I wipe and in the toilet. There's no stopping whatever is going to happen but I'm just so disappointed again

InDreamland · 01/07/2019 10:29

@FirstTimeMama91 I'm still hopeful it's just implantation and bean snuggling down. I read it can last a couple of days. Really hoping all will be well tomorrow at EPU. The waiting and not knowing really is the worst. Sending you a hand hold x

Yukka · 01/07/2019 10:38

@Frillyfarmer I felt equally upset reading the comments so your not alone. There's a bit of wild assumption that you got your bfp now off you go to happy land. But also that to me, you ladies aren't just a bunch of usernames to bounce from thread to thread, your real support. We know each other in ways our best friends don't know us. The comments are blunt and a little careless.

Anyway..,,,just keep swimming :)

@FirstTimeMama91 Good you get seen tomorrow. Try not to loose hope, it is possible to have a healthy pregnancy and bleed all the way through. Fingers crossed for you xx

@InDreamland Yes is sounds like early ligament pain, it can come and go in sharp pains - seriously sharp at times - and can be a more constant dull ache. I think your bean has made a snug little home in there :) xx

Well I've just discovered 2 early varicose veins this morning - not sure if that will increase my thrombosis risk on Wednesday as consultant asked if I had any last time. A tiny bit conscious that I stopped the aspirin at the weekend as they said to. But they're not massive and baby still moving well so I won't stress. Going to do some gardening and head for a sea swim this afternoon.

FirstTimeMama91 · 01/07/2019 10:43

Thanks girls I'm hoping you are all right. Thanks for the support will keep you updated xxx

Beaglemum93 · 01/07/2019 11:46

Sorry I've not been around much, I had a crazy busy week at work and just arrived on holiday yesterday! Eating in France is stressful because there is cheese and rare meat everywhere!

I ended up going to A&E on friday night because I've had a slight pain in my abdomen and an ache down below when I've been on my feet all day. I convinced myself it was the beginning of cervical incompetence and I didn't want to fly unless I knew it was ok. I spoke to a family friend who is a midwife who thought I'd be best getting checked out before I went and because I'm only 15 weeks the pau aren't interested I had to go to A&E. I felt like I was massively wasting nhs resourses but I did get checked by the gynaecologist who said that my cervix looks as it should and it sounds like round ligament pain (which apparently doesn't always just affect your sides, there are other ligaments which go much lower). I think I'm going to ask for a chair in work because 10 hour shifts on my feet cause me significant discomfort which is only going to get worse as time goes on.

So glad to hear your scans went well @KnitKitty, @UnicornsandRainbows1, @Laney79 and @Newbie21! And sorry if I've missed anyone, the thread has moved quickly over the past few days!

@FirstTimeMama91 sorry you've got bleeding. Brown blood is old blood so hopefully it's implantation bleeding or just as the people I've seen about bleeding say "some women just bleed". My manager told me she bled throughout the whole of her pregnancy and her son is now 19! So it can be ok. I know it's hard (I bled on and off for 4-5 weeks) but try to stay positive, there is hope. I have my fingers crossed for you, let us know how you get on. X

FirstTimeMama91 · 01/07/2019 11:47

@Beaglemum93 thank you lovely. Fingers crossed xx

UnicornsandRainbows1 · 01/07/2019 11:58

@Frillyfarmer I haven't been on the new thread so don't really know what's been said but I'm so upset that you've felt a bit pushed out on there.

I recognise some of the names on this one from last year/2017 so some of us are quite long term too (myself as an exception as this would be #2 and I was on there mainly for #1 - I fully except that). We've all dealt through losses, that's why we're here and it baffles me why we can't be kind to each other. We're all just trying to get to the same place in the end!

Yukka · 01/07/2019 12:01

@Newbie21 just spotted your scan post in the mix this morning - that's great news, it's s Shane they don't give pictures until 12 w and most places now charge for them!

@Beaglemum93 glad all was ok, I know you feel guilty re using nhs resources but honestly don't-prevention is always better if your not happy with something in pregnancy. Hope the holiday does you good.

tinatsarina · 01/07/2019 12:29

@InDreamland I'll be six weeks on Wednesday. I feel like everyone's much further ahead Grin

@FirstTimeMama91 sorry your having this scare but as others have said brown is old blood so could be implantation.

Yukka · 01/07/2019 13:19

Shall we do a round up of where everyone is at.. like name, age, any medical info, current weeks, next milestone?

Mine would look like...

@yukka, 40, diagnosed APS, 36.1, growth scan and induction plan on Wednesday.

Then you copy that and add yours on and repost?

Beaglemum93 · 01/07/2019 13:31

Good idea @Yukka

@yukka, 40, diagnosed APS, 36.1, growth scan and induction plan on Wednesday.
@Beaglemum93, 25, 2 miscarriages, overactive thyroid, 15+1, gender scan next Thursday.

Laney79 · 01/07/2019 13:33

@Laney79, 39 (40 in three weeks!) currently 13 weeks after two early losses, both missed MC's. Reassurance scan a week on weds.

FirstTimeMama91 · 01/07/2019 13:49

Any advice about aspirin girls? I'm reading so much about mini aspirin preventing MC. Should I take one?
I think if this is another MC then it would be too late to prevent it anyway Sad still bleeding and cramping. EPU appt tomorrow

Amanda81 · 01/07/2019 13:51

@Amanda81 38, 1 MMC,1MC, no diagnosed issues, currently 14+3, probably get a scan when I return from holiday when I will be 18 weeks

@Bluebelltulip, 29, 11+5 weeks got my 12 week scan on Friday. Previous stillbirth at 32 weeks.

@Beaglemum93 glad everything turned out ok.
@FirstTimeMama91 hope your scan goes well tomorrow and the bleeding stops.

I'm feeling very nervous for my scan on Friday, the holiday distracted me I think. Also been sick again today. I think it's a real shame that there are problems between these 2 threads we are all on them as we need support after a loss/es and are also here to support each other. We can all say things sometimes that accidentally upset people especially with sensitive subjects and different stages when it's not the intention at all. We are all in this together and I hope our support for each other doesn't disappear when we are at different stages.

Siswishes · 01/07/2019 13:55

Hello,

Just after a bit of advice please...

Found out I'd had MMC at my 12 week scan on 24th of May (8+4) and had D&C/surgical management the next day. That was my 2nd pregnancy, I have a 6 year old DD.

I used a few IC tests to check HCG levels had gone and got faint positives initially but then negative after 9 or 10 days and my bleeding stopped after 2 weeks.

TTC again from 10th June doing 'BD' every other day since. I had ovulation symptoms about 10-13 days ago.

I've done a few IC tests over the last week-10 days (purely because I can't help myself!), all negative apart from v faint line on one but I think it was evap line because I only noticed it next morning.

I then bought some FRER tests and did one yesterday first thing and got a faint postive. I did another one today but at 12 so using about 3rd urine of day (I did say I was impatient!) And got another line but fainter.

My worry is that the FRER tests are picking up left over HCG that the IC tests didn't....is that possible? I'm pretty sure I've ovulated since miscarriage as my symptoms are always quite strong. I've not really had any pregnancy symptoms apart from lower back ache, being tired and a bit of spotting but it's so early on.

Just looking for others experiences. I'll do another FRER in the morning and hope line is darker. Just trying not to get my hope up as didn't expect a BFP so soon.

**there is definitely a line on the test from today but it's not shown up too well on photos.

Just to add that the lines came up within the 3 minutes x

FirstTimeMama91 · 01/07/2019 13:58

@Bluebelltulip thank you xx

Frillyfarmer · 01/07/2019 14:07

@Siswishes I would call your GP, explain everything and they can take some bloods to test your HCG levels and go from there.

With my MC in Jan, I bled, had numerous negative tests and then about two weeks after MC started to get positive pregnancy tests. GP did blood work and my levels were rising so they sent me to EPU for a scan. Unfortunately in my case it was retained products which can cause your levels to rise again. Fingers crossed this isn't the case your you. There are definitely positives in those tests but the FRER are more sensitive than ICs.

Frillyfarmer · 01/07/2019 14:14

@frillyfarmer, 29, 2 early MCs this year, currently 4+6 with #2

I do understand the need to have two threads - I found it very difficult when there were a lot of BFPs and pregnancy chat - of course that is hard going. I'm just a bit miffed because I was just placemarking the new thread so I could read through and catch up with where people were, I haven't contributed anything to the TTC thread since my BFP.

I'm really rough today, I've woken for the past two or three mornings feeling as though I've had a heavy night at the wine. Time is going very slowly for me - off on hols Friday so hoping for a distraction for a few days!
