Hello,

Starting a new penguin huddle for those of us who've graduated from the conception boards.

As I said in the old TTC thread, getting a BFP after pregnancy loss is not necessarily a happy time so this is a safe place to vent, worry and share news (good, hopefully, or bad).

I hope you are all here for the long-haul. But you are welcome no matter how briefly.
Others who are pregnant after loss but who weren't on the original thread are of course welcome too.

My stats:
TTC since Dec 2017
Age: 31
TTC no.1
1 MMC and 3 early losses between 4-5 weeks (or, CPs, but I hate that term) all happened last year within the space of 10 months.
Currently 6+1 with 5th pregnancy

@InDreamland @moonpeace @Bluebelltulip @hayleyfx @Laney79 Please add others I may have forgotten!

@moonpeace sorry you weren't well yesterday, migraines are crap. Don't worry about baby, s/he will be fine with all that amniotic fluid to drink from, but do stay hydrated and rest today. You should mention to midwife at booking appointment or next appointment so they can keep an eye in case it gets worse in pregnancy. Your will eventually produce 50% more blood in volume and can cause hypertension/migraine/high bp.

Remember it's also ok to take paracetamol if you need to, doesn't harm baby but stay clear of ibuprofens.

It's all common and manageable but do mention it xx

@Yukka such an amazingly positive way of thinking about things. Hats off to you!

I'm trying to be more positive now-I'm 13 weeks tomorrow. Had my booking appointment a week ago and 12 week dating scan and screening on weds. Little bee was being stubborn about having it's measurements taken so I had to do various coughs/hip sways/wees but got there in the end. No phone call yet to say I'm high risk for downs/Edwards/patau's and the ultrasound measurements looked good but apparently my age alone (39) gives me a 1 in 143 risk- the threshold for high risk is 1 in 150. Hoping the bloods and scan were so good it balances out! Guess I'll know by middle of next week if the phone stays quiet!

I was brave yesterday. My boobs have grown hugely with this pregnancy and I was having terrible quadruple boobage so took myself off to bravissimo (I'm already a top heavy lass at 32ff in a non pregnant state) and bought two new bras one in a 32gg and the other in a 30H Shock please tell me they don't get much bigger from here on in? Otherwise I may need scaffolding rather than over the shoulder boulder holders! Also went to Jojo Maman Bebe and tried on some maternity wear. No bump yet but my jeans are getting tight. Ended up buying a couple of things (maternity jeans and pj bottoms) for when my bump does pop. I was really scared about tempting fate but you're right yukka, I need to be positive. I'm further than I've ever been and all indications are good.

I prob won't buy anything for the baby, and certainly no expensive/big stuff until 24+ weeks...although I am off to Wimbledon so the (horribly expensive) cute Wimbledon tennis baby grows may be too much to resist.

Here's my little one from weds. Little Bee.

@moonpeace sorry you're in that group too. I did feel the same at the very beginning, in fact just before bfp we spoke about life without children. The extra scans helped. But, you'll surprise even yourself at how strong you are even when you can't see it or feel it. You are after all doing this for a 4th time, you already have the resilience, commitment and love for your baby that you need, try to allow yourself to feel it more often than the anxiety, you will have levels of anxiety no matter what in pregnancy but it will get easier as each week passes xx

I've been on Aspirin the whole time - until today was told to stop as blood needs to go back to normal for birth - and heparin injections daily until 14w.

@Laney79 lovely to hear from you! So great you've reached this point 😊 usually they phone in 48 hrs if screening is an issue, We're the same age range but actual results were great, like 1 in 19000. I'm sure you'll be fine too, look forward to update :)

I've only gone up one size - same as you about at 12 weeks and they haven't grown again. But obvs we're all different! Bravissimo is the best. Lovely scan photo, 3.5 weeks till you hear the heartbeat - make sure you record it in your phone xxx

InDreamland · 30/06/2019 14:14

@tinatsarina hope you're not feeling so exhausted today. I was rather tired yesterday, kept dozing off so reckon it was the heat. Glad I have a fan that kept the bedroom cooler last night even though I kept waking up but don't know why.

@moonpeace I hope the migraine has eased today. I really feel for you. So grateful I don't suffer from them. Sorry you're in that 1%, it does feel like so many on mumsnet are in that 1% but then I guess less people post when they have straight forward conceptions and pregnancies so it feels like 3 or more mc's is maybe more common than it is?

@Yukka same to you, sorry you're in that 1%. Think that proves a point though that more people with difficulties post than who do not. You're strength and positive thinking is inspirational. I must channel some of that, well try to anyway. You're right though, I survived 2 mc's and I could just about survive a 3rd but really obviously don't want to because it will still knock me but my experience of the other 2 will help I guess. It is DH's sperm results though that are keeping me well and truly realistic about the chances of losing this one too, it'd literally be a miracle if this one survives and joins us happy and healthy in February. Apparently if we get through the first trimester then any issues with the sperm will be null and void as we will have caught one of his very few healthy ones. With your attitude towards your pregnancy I just know you will deliver a healthy baby safely, cannot wait to hear when they arrive!

@Laney79 what a beautiful scan photo and great you've reached the end of first trimester milestone. Wow, how do you cope with boobs that size? Lovely that you've started to buy a few bits of maternity clothing, comfort is so important. Fx for all the test results to be normal and low risk so you don't get a call. Try to resist the cute baby clothes at Wimbledon.

I'm getting some fluttering feelings in my lower abdomen today. Not a lot but enough to notice. Remember them from pregnancy #1. Wonder if it's just my lunch ………I am going to treat myself to a vegan Magnum ice cream today ……..or maybe a vegan Cornetto. In this heat I'm allowed.

InDreamland · 30/06/2019 14:15

Do you think we could get @boboelephant to join us here? Would love to hear how she and the twins are getting on.

Yukka · 30/06/2019 15:54

@InDreamland small steps... you have your first scan on Wednesday this is a great first milestone. Then you have less that 6 weeks to go x

Be great to hear from @boboelephant

tinatsarina · 30/06/2019 15:59

@InDreamland I'm doing alot better today so I'm guessing it was the heat lol

Frillyfarmer · 30/06/2019 18:58

@Laney79 great to hear your scan went well, so pleased for you.

We've been away at a birthday all weekend and I'm absolutely knackered, my toddler has been awake since 5.30am and I just feel exhausted/hot/stressed out. About to have a nice cold glass of sparkling water and actually sit peacefully in the evening sun!

InDreamland · 30/06/2019 19:56

@Yukka thanks. I need to make it to Wednesday evening first, anything can happen in the next 72 hours. Been having flutterings and other feelings in lower abdomen all day which reminds me of both previous pregnancies and wondering if it's the start of another mc or if it's things re-adjusting down there if there's a tiny bit of growth. Who knows. I also crashed out this afternoon on the sofa for a couple of hours, I was just so tired and it's not like I've even been busy this weekend. Do you think if we all tag @boboelephant she might come join us or maybe just pop in to say hello?

@tinatsarina glad you're feeling better today.

@Frillyfarmer good you're getting some rest now. This heat and pregnancy is exhausting.

InDreamland · 30/06/2019 20:26

The fluttering feels more like twitches. Hope it's not a bad sign.

tinatsarina · 30/06/2019 23:06

@InDreamland now you've said it I've noticed twitches etc but it might be gas for me as I think it's far to early for me to feel anything lol

Lovely scan pictures guys. I'm trying to think positively that I'll get a wee wiggly scan pic soon enough.

Boboelephant · 01/07/2019 06:30

Hello! @InDreamland it worked! I never really come on anymore but was looking through emails folders and saw I'd been tagged three times yesterday. Took me a minute to register it was a graduates thread. How wonderful!!! Congratulations all! So happy to see so many names I recognize from the thread all with your bfps. 😍😍 I'm so happy for you all.
Thank you so much for asking after me. I am good. 😀 22 weeks and my twinnies continue to grow well. I have my 24 week scan next Wednesday and so far so good. I'm massive but very happy and have finally accepted that this really is happening and that after all this time, this is going to be my happy ending. Determined to remain positive!
Hope you're all well and managing these pregnancies with as little anxiety as possible. Celebrate every milestone and remember- today you are pregnant!!

Yukka · 01/07/2019 07:36

@Boboelephant so lovely to hear your update - gosh 22w already that has flown by! That must put you as October or November baby. Hope it all continues to go well, really pleased you've accepted it and can enjoy every minute.

Stay cool in the summer and lots of love and luck xx

FirstTimeMama91 · 01/07/2019 07:41

Ladies I've work up this morning and when I wiped there was bleeding. I can't go through this again Sad I think I'm either 5 or 6 weeks not sure because of ovulation. I'm not cramping and it wasn't red blood. More like watery brown. Has anyone else had this? I'm panicking

KnitKitty · 01/07/2019 07:50

@Yukka It's great that you're doing so well with keeping as active as you can. It must be exhausting at 36 weeks!
I'd like to go swimming but I'm not a very confident swimmer. I might see if our local pool is open at a time I could go with OH.
Thanks for the info about the booking in appointment. It seems a bit surreal having got to this stage! It's this afternoon. I've been told my the surgery that it's an hour and 20 minutes.

@UnicornsandRainbows1 What a lovely scan pic! Congratulations! Grin

@hayleyfx Lovely to see you pop in. I'm glad the sickness meds are helping a bit. Not long to go until the next scan now. You can do it! xx

@MyHeartIsBrokenButIHaveSomeGlue It is possible to feel a tiny bit of fluttery movement at your stage from what I've heard. It's just hard to tell if it's actual movement or not. How lovely to be feeling that so early.

@Newbie21 Welcome back from holiday. I hope getting back to reality isn't too much of a shock to the system.

@InDreamland I always feel better for a couple of days after acupuncture as well. That's considerate of your DH not to go on the lad's holiday this year to be with you.

@moonpeace I'm sorry you've been suffering again. I think the heat could well we at fault here. Definitely keep your GP/midwife informed.

@Laney79 Goodness you're doing so well!!! What a lovely picture! I'm sorry your chest is causing you issues though. Hopefully they've done all of their growing now...

@tinatsarina I'm glad you're doing better now that it's cooled down a bit.

@Boboelephant Lovely to see you on here. 22 weeks seems to have flown by! Grin

@FirstTimeMama91 Oh hun, I'm so sorry you've had a scare! If it helps to hear this, my EPU once told me that it's so common to bleed a bit in early pregnancy that they're not generally worried about it unless it's soaking a pad and/or accompanied by pain. Give your doctor's a ring if you need some reassurance. They might refer you for an early scan. Stay strong. xxx

Yukka · 01/07/2019 07:58

@FirstTimeMama91 yes same as what @KnitKitty says, it is very common but call. gP or epu if your worried x

@Frillyfarmer just read the new #ttc thread I'm a bit surprised at their feelings especially in the early days for you lovely ladies. There's a lot of us who have been on this journey together for a long time between the two threads, it's a shame to be pushed out like that. Anyway I'll drop a note on there too of some sort xx

Newbie21 · 01/07/2019 08:11

@FirstTimeMama91 I had that around 5 weeks. I contacted gp and was referred to EPU for scan and HCG testing. All was well - it was implantation bleeding apparently. Try not to worry but definitely contact gp so you can get some reassurance.

FirstTimeMama91 · 01/07/2019 08:13

Thanks ladies. I'm just assuming the worst. I'm going to phone epu at 9. Will keep you all updated x

MyHeartIsBrokeButIHaveSomeGlue · 01/07/2019 08:44

Morning all!

Just to say lovely to hear from you @Boboelephant and to see that you're doing so well! Twins is soooo exciting!

@FirstTimeMama91 definitely get checked at the EPU. It is probably just implantation and nothing to worry about but just to put your mind at rest. Will be thinking of you today, know that feeling when you see blood all too well. We are all sending good vibes xxx

Newbie21 · 01/07/2019 08:44

Just had my follow up scan with EPAU and all is well. There is a heartbeat and I'm measuring exactly 8w1d which is exactly what I thought I should be. They can't tell me how regular the heartbeat is or how fast but doctor said all seems to be as it should for this stage so I've been discharged from EPAU SmileI wasn't allowed allowed a print out of the scan unfortunately.

InDreamland · 01/07/2019 09:03

@tinatsarina I had some really strong uncomfortable twinges in week 5 so not too early for you, aren't you 5-6 weeks?

@Boboelephant YAY!!!!! You popped in! So pleased to hear from you and that all is going well with the twins. 22 weeks has gone fast (although guessing you don't feel it has). More than half way there though and lovely you'll be celebrating Christmas with them (sorry I know it's only just July). Please stay with us and keep us updated on how things are going.

@FirstTimeMama91 so sorry you're having a scare. Try not to panic, call your GP or go straight to EPU to get checked out. I do remember being told that early on they say a little brown blood (old blood) is common and not to worry about it but I totally get the worry, I had some too a couple of weeks ago and thought it was game over but still not had any red blood which is worrying and also if you're not having any pain that is also good. Do get some advice though so you get some reassurance. Keeping fx for you that it's just bean getting comfy in there.

@KnitKitty hope the appointment goes well. I think DH is worried about history repeating itself if he goes away.

@Newbie21 great news on your scan. Hope that has eased any anxiety. Shame they wouldn't allow a print out, I'd have been really disappointed.

Ladies I think I've pulled a muscle .....at least I hope that is all it is. Lower right abdomen, proper twinges but when I sneeze my goodness ouch! I hope it's nothing to do with bean. I am getting worried because DH is away for work now until tomorrow evening plus we have the private viability scan on Wednesday evening.

Yukka · 01/07/2019 09:09

@InDreamland that my love sounds like your first round ligament pain. Usually starts on the right, near where the appendix might be?

Frillyfarmer · 01/07/2019 09:12

@Yukka it's upset me a bit to be honest. Until very recently we've been on the same thread and I know seeing BFPs is hard when you're TTC but I don't think I was particularly emphasising the fact I was pregnant, more my back MC history because when you've gone through a tricky MC it is very reassuring to read other peoples similar stories.

Anyway, I hope with all my heart I don't have to go back onto that thread and I have hidden it from my thread history because it's been made abundantly clear I'm not welcome. It's a huge shame because your experiences helped me no end when I was TTC and likewise I always saw @Laney79 updates as a story of hope as I think our history is similar. It's still very early days for me but I'm trying really hard to stay positive!

InDreamland · 01/07/2019 09:12

@Yukka I'm really embarrassed to say I have no idea where my appendix is Blush let's say I was rubbish at biology in school. I think I just about know where my uterus and ovaries are. Off to Google appendix location now..........
