Hello,

Starting a new penguin huddle for those of us who've graduated from the conception boards.

As I said in the old TTC thread, getting a BFP after pregnancy loss is not necessarily a happy time so this is a safe place to vent, worry and share news (good, hopefully, or bad).

I hope you are all here for the long-haul. But you are welcome no matter how briefly.
Others who are pregnant after loss but who weren't on the original thread are of course welcome too.

My stats:
TTC since Dec 2017
Age: 31
TTC no.1
1 MMC and 3 early losses between 4-5 weeks (or, CPs, but I hate that term) all happened last year within the space of 10 months.
Currently 6+1 with 5th pregnancy

Thanks @MyHeartIsBrokeButIHaveSomeGlue and @Bluebelltulip sooo happy to be here xx

InDreamland · 21/06/2019 19:36

Awwwww @MyHeartIsBrokeButIHaveSomeGlue that's so exciting! So lovely, one of each! Try stay positive. If things are so far looking good then that bodes well for the pregnancy.

I think we should call this the anxiety bus.

Yukka · 21/06/2019 20:02

Well done @Frillyfarmer glad to see you hear and you made the appointment :)

Congrats @FirstTimeMama91 !

So many bfp's it's lovely :)

@InDreamland you know what you should do...you need to reach past your anxiety. You need to put the well-being of your pregnancy first. You can do it.

I know how worrying it is for everyone - but no one ever had an mc where the diagnosis was ' the mother jinxed it' ....

Come on, we're all in this together, positive pants required all round xx❤️❤️

Frillyfarmer · 21/06/2019 20:14

Thank you, very excited to be here! It's veeeery early days for me so I'm probs gonna try lay low for a little while. I'm very excited but also terrified it might happen again.

MyHeartIsBrokeButIHaveSomeGlue · 21/06/2019 20:24

That made me laugh @Yukka !! Love your posts and pearls of wisdom Wink Consider my positive pants well and truly on and pulled up! xxx

InDreamland · 21/06/2019 21:02

@Yukka you do make me smile. I need to protect myself from more heart break, self preservation............ I will try. I've got acupuncture tomorrow and will be telling her about the anxiety.

I feel so sick. I think I'm gonna hurl! Not morning sickness ......... I've over eaten! Big time. I'm such a greedy cow, now I think I'm gonna chuck it all back up. Why did I have to eat so much Confused

tinatsarina · 21/06/2019 22:17

@MyHeartIsBrokeButIHaveSomeGlue ahhhh a boy!!! How lovely for you both!!! I'm excited for you to :)
@InDreamland it's a good sign it's still just spotting.

InDreamland · 21/06/2019 22:29

@tinatsarina how are you feeling today? Hope you have your voice back and no more toilet issues.

Ladies would you go for a massage this early on in pregnancy?

Newbie21 · 21/06/2019 22:36

@Frillyfarmer and @FirstTimeMama91 congratulations!

@MyHeartIsBrokeButIHaveSomeGlue amazing. A beautiful baby boy. So happy for you.

@Yukka love the pep talk. I'm going to try and make sure I wear my positive pants every day and here's hoping they'll soon be maternity positive pants 👖 in the near future 😉

MyHeartIsBrokeButIHaveSomeGlue · 22/06/2019 06:18

@InDreamland I think you will need to tell the massage people - I was once told that they wouldn't do them in the first trimester. You can definitely get pregnancy massages later on (would thoroughly recommend!) but I would check to be sure at this stage xxx

Laney79 · 22/06/2019 06:36

@InDreamland I had a massage on holiday at around 10 weeks but they wouldn't do certain areas (feet, shoulders etc) so they did my legs, a little in my back but mainly my face.

Yukka · 22/06/2019 06:55

@MyHeartIsBrokeButIHaveSomeGlue congrats on having a boy, that's lovely news :)

We didn't find out, I'm so excited for when we do, and there's no boys in our family at all, baby will have 6 girl cousins... so we'll see!

I've got bags and bags of pink stuff handed down some of it never worn, if it's a boy grandparents are ready to hit the shops :)

@InDreamland agree with the others re massage, no lying on your front and no aggressive lower back. Neck and shoulders would be fine. I'd probably avoid anything until you are nearer the safe zone. A chat with your acupuncturist is a good idea, she can help calm your anxiety's.

Hope everyone has lovely day in the sunshine 🌞 im thinking about a name change to MrsPositivePants 😂

InDreamland · 22/06/2019 07:00

Thanks @MyHeartIsBrokeButIHaveSomeGlue @Laney79 it's s sports massage so think I'll cancel it. I'm way too anxious to enjoy it.

InDreamland · 22/06/2019 07:02

Thanks @Yukka I'm gonna cancel. I read too much online last night about so many zones to avoid as apparently certain pressure points cause mc. Especially first trimester.

InDreamland · 22/06/2019 07:04

I remember my acupuncturist said that during TWW shouldn't be massaged above the upper back so no neck or shoulders as that can encourage mc to happen. I just don't want any reason to make myself feel really guilty and blame myself for mc#3.

Yukka · 22/06/2019 07:08

Good idea, deff as was sports massage @InDreamland , your body has so much work to do in the next 7 weeks I'd just avoid anything interfering with that. I was actually told to even quit yoga until 12w, literally just walking exercise.

MyHeartIsBrokeButIHaveSomeGlue · 22/06/2019 07:11

I would be the same @InDreamland, it probably won't do any harm, but where we are we would just blame ourselves. It's definitely better to cautious and know we have done all we can.

How are you feeling apart from that? Any more spotting? I guess you will hear back re the form next week? Well done for doing it! 😘

Remind me how far along you are @Yukka? Aka Mrs Positive Pants 😜 This is your first baby right? I have a bag full of my DD's clothes at the back of the wardrobe I saved just in case! If all goes well this baby will be the first male grandchild too, but only two girls here not six! How lovely for your baby to have so many cousins!

How are you @Laney79?

InDreamland · 22/06/2019 07:14

@Yukka that's extreme. Don't think I can quit exercise altogether. I am still going to classes but mega toning it down which I'm finding hard as I love an intense workout. Hence why I get regular massages. Hopefully acupuncture will help this morning with my anxiety.

I just don't know if the maternity services tend my online registration form last night. There's no auto acknowledgment after I hit submit, no email or even a message on screen.

InDreamland · 22/06/2019 07:27

@MyHeartIsBrokeButIHaveSomeGlue I'm still crazy anxious. It's that expecting the worst but not knowing when it'll happen that is just driving me crazy. I hope they actually received the form, I'm not confident they have. Nothing else on my pad or after wiping this morning. How are you feeling now you have the harmony test results? Has that helped you feel more confident this baby will be your rainbow?

Yukka · 22/06/2019 07:30

@MyHeartIsBrokeButIHaveSomeGlue yikes I'm 35w tomorrow. This is number 4, lost first 3 then diagnosed with blood condition, been on treatment all the way through.

I'm going in for final checks on 3rd July, I'll be 36.3 then and they'll confirm a date for me to go in. Will be a monitored induction. If growth or blood flow is a bit low, they could admit me that day, if everything is fine then forward book for wk39.

Was told last Wednesday to stop my meds next Sunday, so that my blood can go back to normal and prevent any excessive bleeding during birth. That makes it feel incredibly real....DH just said last night he still can't believe how we've gone from mc disaster zone to lifelong diagnosis to baby coming soon. It's been a rollercoaster as we all understand only too much.

I still feel incredibly lucky that my mcs happened quickly, ie 3 in 10 months, 6 months to diagnosis and pregnant again straight away. Some ladies it's taken years to get to the point of testing and the emotional weight is hard to bare. So yes I feel lucky that, fingers crossed, I'll have a baby here almost 2 years since we started ttc.

Yukka · 22/06/2019 07:39

@InDreamland yeah I was surprised too when they recommended 'do nothing' which was nothing to do with blood condition, just a general statement to reduce strain to my body in those early weeks due to mc history.

When the nausea kicked in around week 8/9 I wasn't good for anything anyway and it stayed till wk 14 ( not 12 like everyone says!)

After week 14 yoga, swimming and dog walks 3/4 times a week and still doing now. Ive not actually gained any weight, last measure was 6.2lbs on and baby estimated 5lbs, the rest placenta and fluid. Crazy.

Frillyfarmer · 22/06/2019 07:40

@Yukka with my firstborn I was deemed high risk (pre eclampsia and gestational diabetes) and to begin with the induction and monitoring over naturally started labour really hung on me. It's great that you're so positive and that things have all gone well so far this time.

I think when you pack your hospital bags there is a real "holy shit" this is real type moment you have!

These next few weeks will be really rough - how has everyone got through them? I'm so nervous to hope this one could actually stick but I swing from doom and gloom to thinking I already had one easy pregnancy and perhaps these two MCs were just bad luck, perhaps I'll breeze through this one. I need some of your positivity!

Newbie21 · 22/06/2019 07:59

@InDreamland just thought I should mention - I did the online booking in form, no acknowledgement or anything so I ended up having to phone the community midwife line and book that way... not ever heard anything from the form. It might just be my hospital - Broomfield in Chelmsford but it might be worth calling rather than waiting for response. I got the call back within a few hours.

coconutlatte44 · 22/06/2019 08:00

Happy weekend everyone! Congrats @Frillyfarmer and @FirstTimeMama91 on your bfps, and @MyHeartIsBrokeButIHaveSomeGlue on your exciting news.

I finally got my picture from my almost 8 week scan last week, they sent it to me in the mail after I was too anxious day of to think to ask for one 😅

Could anyone who's familiar with ultrasounds take a look and let me know what you think - at my first scan where I was 6+4 by LMP they dated me 6+1 - no prob, I thought I ovulated later anyway. Then this scan was 2 weeks later so thought I should have been 8+1 going by their first dating but the sonographer estimated 7+5 as she was looking at it. I know 3 days is nothing at this point so have been trying to reassure myself. But now the scan pic (bottom right) they've sent through says 8 weeks rather than 7+5. She had also said CRL was 1.45 cm but here it reads 1.62.

Do you think this means her estimate has been corrected afterward somehow? I hope so - it would really help make the next 3 weeks easier while I wait for 12 week scan if I thought I was closer to the date I had expected. 😅😅😅

@coconutlatte44 maybe ask the hospital or your midwife. I also see it says 8w4d at the top. Does the scan have your name and DOB on it?
