Hello ladies,

Early days, due my period today and had a BFP since DPO11. It is progressing and my period hasn't arrived so I'm hoping this is a sticky baby! Anyone else recently this week got their BFP? Be nice to have a little group going x

For those who are worried about symptoms coming and going, I'm 10+2 and they definitely do! Some days I'll feel nauseous, some days I'll feel fine but every day I'll feel constantly hungry but with no appetite. Been sick again this morning, urgh. I'm hoping I feel normal in 2nd trimester crosses every finger and toe

InOmniaParatus13 · 07/07/2019 10:12

Morning!
Hope everyone is well! ☺️

Nausea is quite mild today, makes a change! On the other hand, my boobs feel like they may fall off 😂😂

Might actually be able to leave the house today without feeling like I’m going to throw up with every step 😁

InOmniaParatus13 · 07/07/2019 10:46

Spoke too soon; morning sickness is back with a vengeance 😂

hazandduck · 07/07/2019 12:22

Mine only seems to strike in the middle of the night atm, when I wake up for a wee (or my Dd wakes up!) Last night I found myself eating a bag of mini cheddars to fight the nausea at 3am lol. Makes bedtime tooth brushing pretty redundant ha!

lovesT · 07/07/2019 13:35

@InOmniaParatus13 how far along are you? Sorry to hear morning sickness isn't giving you a break!

@hazandduck mini cheddars are my go to snack for nausea! I nibble on them throughout the work day because when my stomach feels empty I don't feel good, good old mini cheddars 😊

hazandduck · 07/07/2019 15:55

Yes @lovesT they are the best! I always have a bag of mini cheddars to hand. That and salty pretzels haha. It is just the right amount of flavour isn’t it!

Dweebette · 07/07/2019 20:09

This thread is so reassuring ladies, getting me through these days! I'm now 7+5 and struggling with the exhaustion massively today, I've had 3 naps after sleeping a full 10 hours last night! Also super emotional, had to go bra shopping earlier (rapid inflation happening) and couldn't find my size so I cried 😂 it's crazy. Feeling really positive though

InOmniaParatus13 · 07/07/2019 20:17

@lovesT - I’ll be 9 weeks on Tuesday, it went from feeling nauseous 24/7 and now I feel nauseous 24/7 with the added bonus of throwing up throughout the day too! Fun times 😂 it will all be worth it in the end though!

@dweebette - I’m with you on the extreme tiredness, slept for 12 hours then had a 4 hour nap today too! It’s unreal! Don’t worry, I cried in the middle of WH Smith’s in the train station as they had sold out of salt and vinegar snack a jacks 🤦🏻‍♀️😂😂

Dreading the commute tomorrow with how bad this sickness and tiredness is, never mind though!

MunsteadWood · 08/07/2019 08:58

I'm feeling pretty grim at the moment too. Felt really sick around 6/7 weeks, then it went away for a bit and I stupidly thought "great, that wasn't so bad!" and now it's back :( Totally exhausted too, but still having to push myself to get out and about with 22mo (and very bouncy) DS. Ughhhh! DH bought me some multi seed Ryvita thins yesterday, and I munched my way the whole packet - sooo good with salty butter and really helped the nausea (at least for the brief time I spent actually eating them) Blush

MunsteadWood · 08/07/2019 08:59

(I'm now 9+2 according to NHS calculator)

InOmniaParatus13 · 08/07/2019 09:17

Ugh got into the office and had to run and be sick 🤢

Not sure how much longer I’m going to get away with this, completely gone off coffee and food and morning sickness has upped its game 🤢 people keep mentioning how pale I am, it’s like gee thanks, kick me while I’m down haha.

Hope everyone is well x

Dweebette · 08/07/2019 09:40

@InOmniaParatus13 you poor thing! Is there an option to tell work early to see what support they could give? I'm lucky enough that I can work from home so can take a break from the office (like today).

I'm having really bad cramping today, I'm really scared. I'm hoping it's just digestive but it's so hard to tell. Just made myself a hot water bottle to try and ease it a bit. Please don't let it be anything untoward 🤞

hazandduck · 08/07/2019 10:08

@Dweebette how many weeks are you? My cramps were awful at 7-8 weeks! You’re allowed paracetamol in pregnancy, I’ve had to take them as the dreaded headaches have already started! I had them in the second trimester with my daughter but everything seems to be kicking in earlier this time round!

hazandduck · 08/07/2019 10:10

@MunsteadWood ditto, my 19 month old literally does not stop 😂 She uses me as a bloody climbing frame all the time! It’s so tiring sometimes I could cry lol. I sometimes think we are mad having another one!

Dweebette · 08/07/2019 10:17

@hazandduck in 3 not sure how far along I am as I had irregular periods. Going from LMP I'll be 8 weeks tomorrow but I think it could be 7 weeks really as my cycle were long (ranging 29-42 days). It is reassuring though that you had then around the same time, I feel like my anxiety is through the roof today, really shakey and feels like my heart is going to jump out of my chest. I've heard symptoms can come earlier in second pregnancy so maybe that's why you're experiencing it. This is my first and I'm finding the whole process terrifying and getting no support for NHS as it's too early (waiting on booking in appointment)

InOmniaParatus13 · 08/07/2019 10:17

@Dweebette - I think you’re right, I’m going to have to tell them and hope they can offer some support Smile it doesn’t help that it’s an hour long commute with 2 trains which doesn’t help the sickness, that’s not their fault of course!
I really hope your cramping is nothing to worry about and that it eases off soon!

hazandduck · 08/07/2019 10:38

Have you got a date for your booking in?? They are supposed to see you between 8-10 weeks I think? I saw my midwife Saturday and I am 9 weeks, it was booked a couple of weeks ago. I’d chase them up if you’ve not had a date as the point is to get you referred to the hospital for your 12 week scan before it is too late for certain tests.

I really hope the pain settles soon. It is awful and an anxious time. My only advice is to distract yourself wherever possible! With Dd I set myself a reading challenge and read 50 books in the first few months! Since having her I’ve read approximately half a book 😂

JellyBaby666 · 08/07/2019 10:42

@InOmniaParatus13 You poor thing! Can you work from home at all? It might be worth telling them, you deserve the support and any help or adjustments they can make!

Got my booking appointment and my 12 week scan all booked and confirmed, and we've got our private scan booked too. Got my baby on board badge on Friday as well, it's all feeling quite real now!

Dweebette · 08/07/2019 11:07

No date for booking in yet, had a nightmare working out how to even go about getting one, I have to self refer directly through the hospital via paper form in the post (this is not what I was originally told by my Health Centre, I'm not impressed) so it's all very slow. I think I'd feel better if I had a date to work towards so hoping I hear soon. No way of contacting anyone to chase though as my health centre refuses to take anything to do with it until 16 weeks (when I start seeing community midwife). If I don't hear anything by next week I'll have to ring the hospital but hate doing that as I'm sure there are others that need their time more!

hazandduck · 08/07/2019 11:09

@InOmniaParatus13 if you feel so rotten you should go home! Isn’t it illegal for pregnancy related illness to go on your record?? I know it’s the case at my work, pregnancy related illness doesn’t go on my record (I’m in local govt.) Also see your Gp! Don’t suffer unnecessarily, there are meds you can take.

InOmniaParatus13 · 08/07/2019 11:20

I’ve just spoken to my work, and they said they thought something was different haha. They’ve agreed that I can work from home and do telephone / video consultations and meetings with clients, yay! They’ve also sent me home today to rest, gotta battle through two more trains but at least I know I don’t have to do this again for a while!
I’ve thought about going to the Gp, but there’s women with it worse than me who manage! I’m 9 weeks tomorrow, apparently the hgc levels peak around 8-9 weeks then things may get better around 12-16 weeks!

@JellyBaby666 I’m so glad I told them and they’ve said I can work from home, such a relief knowing I don’t have to face the office and commute when I don’t feel up to it!

@hazandduck - aye you are right, pregnancy related illnesses can’t go on your record! I was dreading how they would react, but they’ve been fantastic and so supportive! If this gets any worse I’ll definitely make a GP appointment. Hopefully it means my jellybean is growing nicely 🙏🏻

JellyBaby666 · 08/07/2019 12:43

@InOmniaParatus13 If YOU need the medication then YOU need it. Whether or not someone else's experience is as bad or worse than yours is irrelevant! Do think about seeing the GP. My friend took it for a few weeks until she got to about 12 weeks and then it eased off, got it on prescription with no hassle from GP.

InOmniaParatus13 · 08/07/2019 12:51

@jellybaby666 - aye you are right, it is irrelevant and I’m being silly! I’m going to ring the gp and see if I can get an appointment, even if the meds mean I can function normally just to cook and clean I will be so happy! I hope mine eases off at 12 weeks!

This thread is a godsend, very few people know about my pregnancy, so it’s nice to be able to rant on here :)

tisonlymeagain · 08/07/2019 13:01

Hello ladies! Hope you're all keeping well. I've had a few people tagging me asking how to PM me from the app - as far as I can see you can't, which is very helpful! If you want to send me a message me the Facebook group, you'll need to do it on the desktop site!

JellyBaby666 · 08/07/2019 13:17

@InOmniaParatus13 You deserve to feel normal! So pleased your work have been supportive. I haven't vomited yet, come close quite a few times, just trying to find ways/food that helps my nausea - that isn't carbs!
