Hello ladies,

Early days, due my period today and had a BFP since DPO11. It is progressing and my period hasn't arrived so I'm hoping this is a sticky baby! Anyone else recently this week got their BFP? Be nice to have a little group going x

Morning!
@hazandduck I’ve just seen your scan pics, they are lovely!

My nausea isn’t too bad at all today, I’m making the most of it as I know how quickly it can change 😂
Having cravings for those twister ice lollies and Turkish delight, it’s funny how random these cravings are 😂

Hope everyone is well! X

Dweebette · 03/07/2019 10:07

Actually feel on the verge of a breakdown today. I'm 7+1 and went to leave my self referral form to GP as instructed on the form, told they don't take them and I have to send directly to the hospital but couldn't tell me exactly where or who to address it to or anything. They were just so unhelpful, I went and sat and cried in the car I was so stressed out by it, it's very unclear. Going to try and speak to someone at the hospital today but it's hard because there's no where private in work to make a call.

I know this is likely just hormones on overdrive and that's why I'm so bothered by it but I just feel like services could be better at an already stressful time. Also feeling super nauseated today and my boobs are so sore, so feeling very pregnant and vulnerable today 😞

JellyBaby666 · 03/07/2019 10:12

Aw Dweebette, what an annoying start to the day! My hospital has a self referral form to maternity services, is there anything like that for you where you are? Hopefully you can speak to someone in the community midwives office perhaps to ask how to self refer? Definitely feedback how useless the GP surgery was! Hope you’re okay.

Dweebette · 03/07/2019 14:25

Thanks @JellyBaby666 yes it's a self referral but it's a paper form and it says to hand in at your GP and they won't take it and can't tell me where to send it. Tried ringing the hospital but can't get through (does put the fear in me that if anything was wrong I wouldn't be able to get help either!). I'm a mess today, I know logically I have loads of time to sort this but it just feels so urgent, especial since I'm not getting answers. So frustrated

JellyBaby666 · 03/07/2019 15:31

Sending you big hugs. You can definitely get through to someone. Try antenatal clinic? Failing that, go to the hospital and speak to someone in the clinic?

ImMeantToBeWorking · 03/07/2019 15:50

@InOmniaParatus13 did you get the UTI sorted? They are horrible! I was a long time sufferer with them, thankfully got it sorted a few years ago now!!

@sulkysukey I bought jeans a size bigger and in stretchy material for work as I was sick of my jeans cutting into me!! I feel so bloated all the time!!

@Alarae I cam into work at 8am and I was home in bed by 9am yesterday. I got into bed at 7pm on Monday and other than getting up to pee, and let the dog pee at 12 I slept through. I have a cold and cough and it is really taking it out of me, especially because I can't take my normal meds!!

@fbrightwell92 that looks like a positive to me. How did you get on at the doctors?

Welcome @Dweebette sorry to hear about the mess up with your GP. Alot of people on here and the facebook page) talk about "self referal" maybe google that and your hospital and see does anything pop up? In Ireland (where I am) the doc does the form for you.

@purplefig (great to see you graduated from the other thread) I was in the doc on the 13th of June and I have heard nothing from hosp of MW yet, it seems Ireland is far behind the UK though.

@Cupcakes123 your level of hormones might have been too low for some test? Or you may have ov much later than you thought with only coming off the pill recently?

Franiie · 03/07/2019 16:39

@ImMeantToBeWorking Been to the doctors they did a test there it came back negative so that's a weight off of my shoulders thank god don't need motherhood at 17 no thank you

Cupcakes1234 · 03/07/2019 16:46

@ImMeantToBeWorking yeah I think you're right! I must have ovulated a little later but I really didn't know how long my cycles were going to be so it was complete guess work anyway so I'm not sure how far I am. Hopefully they can get me in for a scan and see.

InOmniaParatus13 · 03/07/2019 16:54

@ImMeantToBeWorking I’m on a 7 day course of antibiotics, she said it was a really bad one and probably the cause of my dizziness and spotting last week! I’ve had UTI’s before but this one was pretty much symptomless. She said they are very common in pregnancy, lucky us! I’m glad you got yours sorted!

shoegalj · 03/07/2019 19:30

Hi all. I had my booking appointment yesterday, all was fantastic. BP and BMi was perfect so I’m feeling a bit less anxious. Stressing about my maternity leave now and not being able to afford to have the full 12 months off which I’m really gutted about.

My fiancé now just keeps muttering about money and comparing stuff to his previous experiences with the children with his ex.

I’m finding it really hard to talk to him about stuff as he’s done it all before and I’m feeling really alone on the journey.

Anyone else going through the same?

hazandduck · 03/07/2019 22:07

Thank you @InOmniaParatus13 ❤️

Sorry to hear some people are feeling stressed!

I am still just feeling absolutely exhausted. My house is a tip but I have not got the energy to tidy x

hazandduck · 03/07/2019 22:09

@shoegalj no experience but that sounds frustrating! Do you have a friend you can talk to?? It’s often hard to talk to your other half any way as they have absolutely zero idea of how it feels! I’m fortunate enough to have a group of friends who’ve all had babies in the last couple of years we all support and advise one another all the time, and moan equally about our other halves! I’d be lost without them tbh x

shoegalj · 03/07/2019 22:18

@hazandduck I’m under orders not to tell any friends yet from fiancé. My mum is a stresser (I get a text every night to tell me to go to bed I’m 37!) it’s also not helpful that the ex wife is horrendous and just adding loads of stress and she doesn’t know yet so I’m dreading what her reaction will be. His kids are also difficult children so I’m also worrying about that.

I have an ok circle of friends but most has kids a while ago not many live nearby and i don’t socialise with groups of friends due to all of our busy lives.

It’s quite isolating and I struggle with mental health so I’m worrying quite a bit. As soon as I’m 12 weeks I want to join some mum to be classes to try and help.

Sorry i sounds so moany and ungrateful. Just finding today really hard.

Dweebette · 04/07/2019 05:27

@shoegalj so sorry you're struggling, I think the early stages are so isolating as it's such a stressful time anyway and you're trying to hide it. How horrible for you to have the added stress from your OH and the ex. It sounds like you have a healthy coping strategy though with your plan to join the groups. It's totally OK to have a moan too. We're all so lucky to be in this position but that doesn't mean we have to be 100% cheerful all the time, it's bloody hard work growing a human!

shoegalj · 04/07/2019 06:56

@Dweebette thank you for being so nice. It is hard. I’m telling my girlfriends 2 weeks on Saturday so I’m looking forward to that and they are all mums so I hope that’ll help too. Struggling to find some groups near me but going to keep looking!

hazandduck · 04/07/2019 06:57

Oh that does sound really tough! Sorry you have all that crap to deal with.

You don’t sound ungrateful whatsoever! Just having a tough time! Those groups sound a good idea and hopefully you’ll build a nice bond with your midwife, I still speak to my midwife from when I had my daughter 19 months ago! X

My DH is off on a stag do for 4 days today. I’m dreading it, I don’t actually care about him going away but I’m so tired and could really use his support with DD at the moment. I’ve told him I’m having all next weekend off, he is doing every bedtime, every meal, and ALL the clean up lol.

Dweebette · 04/07/2019 07:04

@shoegalj it's not the same as in real life but you'll always get support on here when you're struggling 😊 hoping this group will see us all safely through the first trimester and beyond

InOmniaParatus13 · 04/07/2019 07:35

You’re welcome @hazandduck ☺️

Ugh had very little nausea yesterday, today it’s back with a vengeance, currently on the train trying not to throw up 🤢

This baby loves salt and vinegar snack a jacks, no idea why 😂

Dreams2020 · 04/07/2019 07:44

Congrats! Were you able to hear the heartbeat? Or is it too early yet?

NaomiSophia · 04/07/2019 07:54

Hey ladies,

I’m currently 7 wks + 4. I’ve had severe sickness now since Monday before last. I have been to midwife who gave me antisickness drip on Friday and I’m scared I’ll need to go back due to dehydration. Terrified this is HG is anyone experiencing similar symptoms ? This is my first pregnancy x

PetaO · 04/07/2019 08:29

Just had my 1st midwife appointment and date for the 12 week scan. It's all getting rather real now!!
I'm still feeling so sick all the time and exhausted...I'm not very good at resting so I'm just getting frustrated!
Cant wait to see our little hatchling in 3 weeks!!

shoegalj · 04/07/2019 08:30

Is anyone here going to get a gender scan? Our trust charges for them but I really want to have one. Does anyone know how much they'll be?

shoegalj · 04/07/2019 08:33

@PetaO congratulations! My scan is in less than 3 weeks. And I'm so excited!! Sorry you're feeling rubbish Sad I've had no sickness but I'm absolutely exhausted dragging myself to work is so hard!

JellyBaby666 · 04/07/2019 10:02

@shoegalj I imagine that's hard, especially as he's had children before. You're allowed to be excited though! You're always welcome to share any worries or questions here. Don't worry about moaning or having down days, we can't be gloriously happy every second of the day, it's not possible! My trust doesn't charge so I think we'll find out but won't be having a private gender scan.

@hazandduck Sounds like a plan! My OH went on a stag do last weekend, and drunkely told his brother I'm pregnant and lost his phone. Idiot!

@InOmniaParatus13 I hope you made it off the train without vomitting!

@NaomiSophia I'm so sorry you're suffering with sickness, I hope it isnt HG. Someone on either this thread or the other Feb 2020 thread has HG I'll check hold on. Pregnancy Sickness Support may be a good port of call for support for you. Fingers crossed you feel a bit better today.

I feel very nauseous today. Grim.

zme94 · 04/07/2019 10:08

Me :) I'm roughly 6 weeks I think. Found out last week.

Congratulations!!
