Hello ladies,

Early days, due my period today and had a BFP since DPO11. It is progressing and my period hasn't arrived so I'm hoping this is a sticky baby! Anyone else recently this week got their BFP? Be nice to have a little group going x

Is anyone else crazily bloated by the afternoon? I get dressed in the morning in an outfit feeling ok and by the afternoon feel like a total whale. I'm only 7 weeks tomorrow! Shock

Dweebette · 01/07/2019 18:10

Hi everyone. I slowly read my way through the thread over the past few days and it brought such comfort. I got my BFP a week ago today after feeling absolutely rubbish (so tired and a lot of nausea) for a week before. I had irregular periods so I can't date my pregnancy which is really annoying as I'm absolutely crippled with anxiety and really want to book an early scan but don't think there's any point in case it's too early. Flo has me at 6+6, NHS website has me at 5+6 (DD 25 Feb) based on average length (my cycles were 35,41,36,31,36 after coming off the pill) so I just don't know.

I honestly didn't anticipate feeling so helpless. I'm terrified every time I go to the bathroom that I'll be bleeding and when I haven't felt sick for a while I'm convinced I've lost it. The wait until the 12 week scan seems impossible and I'm too scared to tell anyone other than DH that I'm expecting.

Sorry for the rant, I just don't know where else to turn and it's lovely that so many of us are at similar stages. I've just wanted this for so long the fear that it might not stick is unbearable ☹️

InOmniaParatus13 · 01/07/2019 18:26

Back from the walk in centre with a weeks worth of antibiotics, lucky me yay haha. The dr said it was quite a bad infection and she’s 99% sure it’s what has been causing the spotting over the past few days!
I don’t think I’m ever going to be able to relax 100% until this wee one is safe in my arms! I’m just trying to stay calm and not over analyse everything!

BabySquid · 01/07/2019 19:11

@Dweebette defo don't go for a scan too early, I went at what I thought was 6+3 and the sonographer said she just saw an empty sac, we were heartbroken and got sent to the EPAU 4 days later to see a teeny heartbeat and said I was 5+6. I implore you, wait as long as you can to save unnecessary bad news.

@InOmniaParatus13 I totally agree with you, I don't think I can fully relax until bubbas here.

Charm23 · 01/07/2019 19:21

Hey ladies, hope you're all feeling well (or there abouts at least!) I have no appetite but have to eat every few hours or I feel nauseous. I hate it. I'm 9+3 today and eagerly awaiting my dating scan date. Midwife at booking in appointment said it could arrive in the post on Tuesday. I just want to know how long until we get to have another scan! Going to tell my brother and SIL on Saturday. They have been struggling to conceive but I think they'll be happy for us. I'm definitely going to book a private scan at 16/17 weeks, I can't wait all the way to 20!!

JellyBaby666 · 01/07/2019 19:32

Hi @Dweebette you’re not alone there, the fear everytime I go to the bathroom or feel a bit normal I panic a little. Sending you huge hugs. I totally get the wanting an early scan, do you think you can wait a week/10 days to go for one so hopefully you’re not too early? As others said if you go too soon they may not see what you’re hoping they will, because you’re too early and it’s too small. I’m 100% with you about the fear of it not sticking, I don’t think I’ve ever wanted something so badly. The odds are in our favour things will be okay xxxxx

Dweebette · 01/07/2019 20:27

@BabySquid thank you, I know you're right and I am going to wait until at least 8 weeks (or 7 by NHS website) as the early scan place says it's OK from 6 weeks so I'll be sure then. That must have been so horrible for you, I'm glad you got the heartbeat then!

@JellyBaby666 you're so right, the odds are definitely in our favour. It's just so hard to believe that though, especially with so many stories on her of MCs. This site is really good for reassurance datayze.com/miscarriage-reassurer.php

InOmniaParatus13 · 02/07/2019 08:05

Ugh I’ve now gone off my usual Starbucks coffee 🤢
Currently on the train feeling very sick! Also cannot stand the smell of bacon or tomatoes, how strange!
Hope everyone is well :) x

Alarae · 02/07/2019 08:42

Well felt awful most of yesterday and ended up finishing early and heading straight home for a nap!

Did find that eating a satsuma seemed to help, so I've bought a bundle to have for breakfast. I've realised that anything carb based seems to set off a horrendous morning of nausea for me.

purplefig · 02/07/2019 09:02

Hi everyone - can I join in? I'm around 8 weeks today. Feeling pretty grim at the moment - bloated, sore boobs, on and off nausea and mega lethargic.

Can I ask if any of you have had your midwife booking appointment yet? Or any info about your 12 week scan? I handed in the paperwork about a fortnight ago and haven't heard anything yet.

JellyBaby666 · 02/07/2019 09:18

@Dweebette I found that really reassuring too actually, it was shared in the FB group and it's really calmed me down when I've been panicky. My DP keeps telling me, and I'm telling myself, that I'm doing everything I can to take care of me and the baby - no alcohol, reduced caffeine and taking my vitamins, which is all I can do. I wish I could say my diet is super healthy but I've gone right off a lot of the healthy stuff I'd been eating - I can't stomach the thought of fish or eggs, which I usually eat a lot of! How are you doing today?

hazandduck · 02/07/2019 12:29

I’m so tired and today is one of my work days (part time). Literally wilting at my desk! And have got a blinding headache. I am so tempted to go home early to nap before I have to go and pick my toddler up! Hope everyone is well. I’m 8+2 today. X

Marleym28 · 02/07/2019 12:54

I Also feel SO crap today.
I've been so emotional today, snappy and just not myself.
I slept alright but I honestly feel exhausted. I'm 8+1.
I can't sit still as I genuinely think I'm going to fall asleep but equally feel like I have no energy.
How am I going to make it to 5pm!
It's so difficult as I don't want to be that person moaning but sometimes I just can't help it.
I Need a reality check lol
I have my booking appointment tomorrow.
Haven't heard anything re:scan

@purplefig so good to see you on here!
Up until maybe a week ago I hadn't heard from the midwife either.

Dweebette · 02/07/2019 12:56

@JellyBaby666 how far along are you? I'm doing the same, my sensible head tells me that I'm doing the best for me and baby (still weird to think there's a baby in there!) so if the worst happens it's because it's not meant to be but then the mama in me days "but it is meant to be, worry uncontrollably!". I'm doing OK today though feeling very tired. I did go to the gym before work though so that may be it. Having the occasional wave of nausea too. I took another test last night (a week after my BFP) just to reassure myself that I'm still pregnant - very quick and very strong line so hoping that's a good sign for rising HCG

JellyBaby666 · 02/07/2019 13:43

@Dweebette I'm 6+1, have been feeling nauseous since I found out, pretty much, it worsened massively today! It's not fun at all but I'll take it! It's been its worst while I was on the tube, and then in the park during lunch, which makes me feel quite panicky as I'm wondering where I can go to be sick and what I'll do!

InOmniaParatus13 · 02/07/2019 14:18

8 weeks today and had some more spotting, I’ve got a feeling it’s going to be featuring a lot in this pregnancy!
The midwife wasn’t wrong when she said nausea can peak at 8 weeks, I feel horrific!
Someone decided to eat a tuna sandwich in the office so I had to go outside before I threw up 🤢
Can’t believe I’ve gone off my beloved Starbucks too! Shocking 😂 x

fbrightwell92 · 02/07/2019 14:21

Evaporation line or faint positive?

BFP - Anyone else due February 2020?
BabySquid · 02/07/2019 15:16

@fbrightwell92 how long did you leave the test before looking at it? And when was AF due?

JellyBaby666 · 02/07/2019 15:19

I can definitely see a second line, did you read it within the time on the packet? I think faint positive usually has some colour to it, what colour does it seem in person? Do you have another test you can do first thing in the morning?

Franiie · 02/07/2019 16:21

@JellyBaby666 in person it does seem to have the slightest bit of colour to it but I'm going to go to the doctors tomorrow and take it with me

Franiie · 02/07/2019 16:22

@BabySquid I left it 3 mins before looking and that line has always been there and what is AF?

JellyBaby666 · 02/07/2019 16:55

@Franiie AF is Auntie Flo, your period. Never understood that one myself! When were/are you due on? If its within the time the test indicates to look then there is a second line, and the box says (usually) that a second line however faint indicates pregnancy. Evap lines usually come after the window they advise to read it in (I believe).

Cupcakes1234 · 02/07/2019 17:23

Hello all, can I join? I had my first positive yesterday afternoon and have since done another 4 and I am so in shock. Came off the pill on the 25th of April, had a bleed 29th April for a week. About 7-10 after I as due a period (going from 28 days by an app) took a couple of tests. All completely negative. So I've left until yesterday when to my utter shock very strong positives. I'm in complete disbelief but I'm over the moon. I was actually due to go for a blood test as I thought there was something wrong with me and my cycles for not getting a period and having negative test results. Judging from my last period I'd be 9 weeks however I don't think I'm that far due to negative tests. But hopefully I'll get a scan soon to see how far I am 😊

Franiie · 02/07/2019 17:34

@JellyBaby666 I only took the test because I had one unusually light period at the start of June and then 10 days later had another one and that second line came up straight away so I'm confused and also now I've taken 5 tests and had 3 very faint positives but 2 negatives so I'm really confused
