Hello ladies,

Early days, due my period today and had a BFP since DPO11. It is progressing and my period hasn't arrived so I'm hoping this is a sticky baby! Anyone else recently this week got their BFP? Be nice to have a little group going x

@Hopex92 I've had very few symptoms at all and what I've had have been totally manageable. Had an almost entirely symptom free week last week and was worrying myself sick (as usual lol) but am tired again today and boobs are sore again. I also went for a scan today and measuring one day ahead with a lovely strong hb of 170 so lack of symptoms is not necessarily a bad thing (I'm 8+3).

@Countrygirl90 congrats and welcome! I think antibiotics is a bit obvious because there is only one type that you actually can't drink on so I'm not sure that would work too well?! If you're in a pub or at a party just make sure you buy/get your own drinks and drink things like soda with ice and lemon (or even tonic so that it smells like booze). Other excuses could be that you've not been well, you're driving later, you're going to the gym later or even say that you're having a few days off because you've had some boozy weekends. I've found most people notice less than you think though! Good luck!

@Dosti2020 welcome lovely! I wonder if there's a thread for March due dates (this is Feb due dates)- you're of course welcome here but you might find a thread where everyone is a similar stage to you more helpful (or join both!). 😊

bessie84 · 30/06/2019 20:13

@InOmniaParatus13 im spotting after throwing up too. Im hoping its cos of the force of been sick? Good luck with your scan.

Dreams2020 · 30/06/2019 20:20

I’ve ended up joining both as I realised after there was a March thread! 🤦🏽‍♀️🙈

BabySquid · 30/06/2019 20:27

Hi all, not posted much in this group, it's pretty big and I'm late to join but... Need all your opinions... it's my 30th birthday in Aug, I'll be 12 weeks on the 1st Aug, and having a party on the 3rd, to which all my friends will be invited.. now, do I tell them when they get invited just so they don't bring me Prosecco/Rum as a gift(which most would), or wait till the party to tell them if we've had our scan on/around the 1st??

InOmniaParatus13 · 01/07/2019 08:07

@bessie84 that’s what I’m hoping too 🙏🏻☺️

So I’m 99% sure I’ve got a UTI which could also cause the spotting, going to try and get in with the drs after my scan at 1.30pm!
Feeling nauseous today and having to pee constantly which I think is the UTI, so much fun 😂
Hoping I make it through the bus and train ride without throwing up 😂

Alarae · 01/07/2019 08:57

Anyone got any magical tips for the nausea? I feel absolutely awful and I find it's worse if I'm sitting down for a period of time (not great when I'm office based!).

OH keeps saying ginger biscuits but I hate the things. Sucking on a small mint seemed to help, but as soon as it dissolves I'm back to feeling nauseous again after about 20 mins.

I feel like I might feel better if I was actually sick, but I'm just dry heaving at the moment!

InOmniaParatus13 · 01/07/2019 09:18

@alarae the only thing that’s helped a wee bit with my nausea is eating rich tea biscuits and taking a can of sprite everywhere I go, for some reason 7up made me feel more sick, but sprite seems to ease it, no idea why!

Alarae · 01/07/2019 09:41

Thanks @InOmniaParatus13. Will have to give the rich tea biscuits a go!

BabySquid · 01/07/2019 10:00

@Alarae plain bread sticks are helping me at the mo. Got a box stashed in my desk drawer at work so hopefully no one sees me snacking too much.

ImMeantToBeWorking · 01/07/2019 10:21

@Allhallowseve I get the heart palpitations too. I googled them and they are normal in pregnancy as there is extra blood flowing around our veins.

My mam rang this morning and I ended up having to tell her I was pregnant. I think she was happy (she was in the office so could not talk too much) That brings the number of people I have told to 3 now. DP has managed to keep the secret but we have not been drinking with his family, or meant to go skiing in Jan with them. (Mam rang looking for DP DOB to book us onto ski trip so I had to tell her as I started to cry - fecking hormones). No doubt my mam will also tell my dad so kinda gutted I had to tell her but no point in paying deposits when I knew we weren't going!

InOmniaParatus13 · 01/07/2019 11:29

@Alarae you’re welcome! Nausea is awful so I really hope they give you some relief!

Just waiting for the train to my scan now, feeling so many emotions; anxious, excited, nervous, apprehensive, scared, hopeful and about a million others 😂

Gingerbreadlady1 · 01/07/2019 13:37

@BabySquid, it really depends if you want to tell them or not, or wait & do a mass announcement at your party & stockpile all the lovely booze presents! Also, have you had your scan date, it’s between 11-14 weeks so you may not have had it yet?

BabySquid · 01/07/2019 13:41

@Gingerbreadlady1 not had the date yet, we have our booking appointment with the midwife on Friday so I assume I'll get it then?
I quite like the idea of a mass announcement.
But I don't like stockpiling drink, we don't really drink much as it is and still have like 3 bottles of Rum in our cupboard!!!

InOmniaParatus13 · 01/07/2019 13:42

I’d like to introduce you all to jellybean 😍😍 saw his or her wee heartbeat and it was so strong, I’m so in love 😍
Measuring 7+6 which is exactly the same dates from my last period, so due 11th Feb 😍😍

BFP - Anyone else due February 2020?
BabySquid · 01/07/2019 14:22

@InOmniaParatus13 👋🏻hi jellybean.
That's such a cute little picture.

JellyBaby666 · 01/07/2019 14:29

InOmniaParatus13 · 01/07/2019 14:32

Thank you @BabySquid it’s a wonderful picture, I’m so in love!

Thank you @jellybaby666 I completely agree, don’t think I’ve ever been so happy 😍❤️

djmbaker · 01/07/2019 14:37

Hi can I join?
Just got a BFP today.. estimating I'm 6 weeks.. due end of Feb!!
Can not believe it. First baby.. I'm 32! Period is 2 and a half weeks late and I just knew.. but had BFN straight away so I'm beyond excited that I've had two BFP!!
Feel super scared but excited too. Want to shout it from the rooftops but I know it's too early.. my neighbour is a midwife so I've messaged her asking what on Earth do I do now 😂😂
Congratulations to you all!!!
Fingers crossed for everyone. xx

BabySquid · 01/07/2019 14:55

@djmbaker welcome and congratulations. Great that you have a midwife so close.

Bettythecat · 01/07/2019 15:01

@BabySquid if it was me I would tell a select few of my nearest and dearest (best friends and Mum if she's going) and then get them to help you with avoiding booze by buying/making you drinks. Then you can tell the wider group when you're ready and you've had your scan.

JellyBaby666 · 01/07/2019 15:17

Welcome @djmbaker - congratulations! I’m due the end of Feb too. My best friends are midwives, it’s quite handy isn’t it, having one on hand! Grin

lovesT · 01/07/2019 15:21

Hello 👋

I am due around Feb 15th, husband is already realising that's going to be two lots of presents within a few days as my birthday is the 11th 😂

How is everyone doing at this early stage?

I've been quite tired, especially toward the end of the day, my boobs are sooo sore and definite loss of appetite unfortunately as I love food normally! That seems to be getting better though, but have gone off meat quite a lot!

It's an exciting and slightly scary time but hope everyone on this three is doing well 👍

ImMeantToBeWorking · 01/07/2019 16:03

@InOmniaParatus13 Congrats!! I say you are delighted.

Everyday I am hoping I hear from someone regarding a scan but nothing yet. Ireland are so far behind!

Welcome @djmbaker and @lovesT congrats on you BFPs!!

InOmniaParatus13 · 01/07/2019 16:17

Thank you!! @immeanttobeworking, I am over the moon and so excited!

I can’t get into the drs at all today, so off to the walk in centre in a minute to get this UTI sorted! Fun times for a Monday!

djmbaker · 01/07/2019 17:50

@JellyBaby666 Thankyou! Yes amazing to have a midwife on hand.. she's really laid back to and straight to the point which I need as I'm a bit of a worrier!
How is everyone feeling?
I feel strange.. feel really aware of my tummy?? Every twinge I'm feeling. Mind is obviously in over drive 😩
