Ahh @Delilah7 sorry I'm late but well done you, he's gorgeous. Hope you're doing good xx

34+1 here and the struggle is real. So tired and achy. Work is tough and I'm ready to quit now! 3 more weeks to go! Been getting a few things but still confused over all the feeding stuff. At least there's plenty of shops nearby and thank god for Amazon Prime, so if we find we need something it won't be far away!

Last NCT class this week which has been really interesting as they have alot of inside knowledge about our hospital, which turns out to be well equipped and using new techniques so I'm quite glad we're going where we are. I'm gonna see if I can get in the birthing pool as it's all set up for high risk mums so hopefully they'll let me. It's all becoming a bit real and scary now!

Fivebyfive2 · 25/06/2019 07:08

Hi ladies! How are you all doing? I'm struggling a little on holiday to be honest, kind of looking forward to getting home on Thursday. Seeing some great sights and the hotel is good, but it's so hot it's just making me tired and don't seem to have any appetite!! Sorry I'll stop moaning now!! Xx

MrsC87 · 25/06/2019 07:44

37 weeks today, hot and uncomfortable! Tiredness is unreal, sleeping 10 hours at night and a couple in the day!
7 days until induction!! 🙈
Drink plenty ladies and get those feet elevated! xx

RanchoRelaxo · 25/06/2019 09:30

Hi ladies, sorry I've been so absent again, have tried to have a catch up on the thread but so much has happened! Congratulations to all the new bfps, and all the lovely scan pictures, so magical :)
Congratulations @Delilah7 :) he is beautiful, any induction tips?
So I am 37+1 and classed as full term now! Have been having some back and belly twinges but don't think anything will come from it, my body is just trying to trick me I think 😂 I am being induced on Monday so less than a week to go, everything has gone puffy now with this weather, I've had to take my wedding ring off!
Hope the weather's better around the country for some of you than it is here 😂

EltzBee · 25/06/2019 09:34

@mrsof20118 the heat is hardwork isn't it! Hope you feel a bit better today; could the cramps be those 'practice' contractions, braxton hick? I've heard they can be period-like and felt in the lower back, I think the tummy goes very firm during them too. Hope the swelling goes down - lots of water and ice pops perhaps?! Not long now til your due date! I hope they don't keep you waiting too long :)

@Fivebyfive2 ah hun! I hope you can manage to enjoy the last couple of days of your holiday.

@MrsC87 ooh congrats you're now officially 'at term' :) not long now til you're induced! Hope the tiredness becomes manageable for you. Are you all ready for the baby?

MrsC87 · 25/06/2019 09:51

@EltzBee yes all ready, just keeping on top of the housework until next week. Nursery all done ✅
Just going to put the bedding on the snuzpod & car seat in the car the night before 😆

@RanchoRelaxo good luck for Monday!! 😘

Delilah7 · 25/06/2019 09:53

Hi ladies.
Sorry I've been AWOL. Ethan's first night with us was awful. He had so much mucus, was choking on it aswell as his bottles which he hardly took any of and then had a feeding tube which he ripped out. Horrible first night. However he's much better feeding wise now. See below 😍💙
Induction tips - be prepared for it to be a long process or quite quick! I had my only pessary at 7:50pm, felt niggles at 2am and continued throughout the day. I dilated quite slow at first but I was already having 1 minute breaks between contractions at 2cm! I shot up from 2cm to 6 on the wheelchair down to the delivery unit and when my waters were broken I went from 6cm to 10 in an instant pretty much. Ethan was born 3 hours after me being 2cm dilated and just shy of 24 hours after my pessary. I did get a second degree tear which I'd advise having gas and air for 😂 but it's not too bad the after pain. Just cramping it feels like from a period! Any questions I'm happy to answer just bare with me if I don't reply 😂 xx

MrsEG · 25/06/2019 14:45

@Delilah7 He is a little stunner :) Well done you for getting through the night; I hope he starts getting better now as the days go on. Glad to hear you’re recovering well!

@RanchoRelaxo Less than a week! It’s gonna be like a baby train on this thread with all these due dates coming up :) Good luck for Monday x

@Fivebyfive2 Ahh no, try and make the most of it! Stay nice and hydrated and have a nice last 2 days :) We are in the Lakes today for a few days; I’m exhausted today and even the measly 2 hour drive took it out of me!!

Delilah7 · 25/06/2019 15:40

@MrsEG thank you Hun. Still in with Jaundice and the feeding problems by hopefully by end of the week we are out x x

purplefig · 25/06/2019 18:36

@Cookie0508 exciting times! Sorry to hear work is rough though - 3 weeks must feel like a long time when you're feeling tired and achey. How did you find your NCT class by the way?

@Fivebyfive2 Not long until home-time! I know what you mean though, sometimes you just want the comfort of your own house.

@MrsC87 Is it muggy where you are?! Can't imagine that being nice at 37 weeks! Not long at all until your induction - is there any particular reason you're having one?

@Delilah7 sorry to hear you had a rough first time, but good to see things are improving and fingers crossed you'll be out soon. Thanks for sharing your experience with an induction too.

I'm 7 weeks today. The nausea has kicked in, it's not too bad but the food aversions are worse. Straight up can't stomach coffee now, and avocado makes me gag. I don't know who I am! I also haven't heard back from the midwife unit about my booking appointment, but I guess in the grand scheme of things it's still early days.

I finished 'Expecting Better' which I really enjoyed, and I got DH 'Pregnancy for Men: The whole nine months ' for Father's Day which he's loving. Any other book recommendations?

MrsC87 · 25/06/2019 19:00

@Delilah7 sorry to hear your still in, but you're in the right place! Hopefully you'll be home soon! How are you feeling in yourself?
I have an induction question- how were the contractions pain wise? Did you have the drip?

@purplefig yes the weather is very muggy, I'm in Worcestershire. Next week the temps look high for my induction 🥵🤦‍♀️ having an induction due to Gestational Diabetes. It's hospital policy in my area to induce between 37-39 weeks, so I'll be 38+1. Just hoping my body is ready!!

MrsC87 · 25/06/2019 19:01

@purplefig sorry forgot to say, look up the positive birth company, I'm using the digital pack at the moment and finding it helpful xx

Delilah7 · 25/06/2019 19:20

@purplefig thanks Hun. hopefully his levels keep coming down. They want us to aim to be discharged tomorrow but we will see x x

@MrsC87 I'm ok with being in when his feeding is now sorted! It's much easier. To me, the contractions were the hardest part the pushing was easiest. I'm used to bad period pains and obviously I've miscarried before so know what that can feel like and it was just like a real intense period pain. But constantly. And that's what makes it hurt. No I had propess pessary with the string x x

Delilah7 · 25/06/2019 19:23

@MrsC87 and in myself I'm ok. Done my first poo since being stitched 😂😂 wasn't too bad tbh, just make sure you drink water and lots of it before hand. I also had lactulose just in case!

MrsC87 · 25/06/2019 19:27

@Delilah7 I'm hoping the pessary and lots of walking does the trick! Did you have a sweep beforehand? I think I'll be in for a shock as never had bad period pains 🙈
Glad to hear things are improving with the feeding and glad your first poo was okay!! 😝 sending lots of love, keep the pictures of gorgeous Ethan coming 😊

Delilah7 · 25/06/2019 19:34

@MrsC87 I had the pessary did some walking got on the birth ball and then it started. However weirdly I was having contractions on my own before hand that stopped 😂 no sweep babe just pessary and then a few examinations. Which I will say hurt. Pessarys can dry you out! X

Delilah7 · 25/06/2019 19:35

Another of my baby spam

Oh he's just gorgeous 🥰💙 @Delilah7
Making me so excited to meet my boy now 😆 xx

Delilah7 · 25/06/2019 20:15

@MrsC87 I must admit I'm smitten 😍💙

Fivebyfive2 · 25/06/2019 20:31

@Delilah7, I'm glad you're getting on OK and I have to take time out to specifically congratulate you on your first post labour poo!! I have heard some stories, so glad you're alright!! Xxx

@MrsC87, not long for you now hun! Exciting times! Xx

@MrsEG, enjoy the lakes!! Hope you have a fabulous, relaxing time xxx

@purplefig, aaaahh I love you gave dh a book for fathers day!! I am reading 'my pregnancy 2019' which is fairly straightforward and very up to date. Xx

Had a really good day after my little moan! Went on a boat to a castle, then actually had a meal I enjoyed!! Last proper day tomorrow, just gonnna chill by the pool then have a meal on the night. Home Thursday, back to our cat and our own bed 🙂 Tbh I think I'm just on countdown for Mon and The 12 Week Scan!! Xxx

Delilah7 · 25/06/2019 20:57

@Fivebyfive2 don't be scared of it! Otherwise it'll be worse 😂😂 xx

Fivebyfive2 · 25/06/2019 21:05

@Delilah7, good advice!! 🙂👍

Omg girls I forgot to say... So I've got this little bump already at 11 and a bit weeks. Guessing it's a combination of actual bump, bloat and me being kind of tiny, so it's more noticeable. So we're on the tram back to hotel tonight and this man proper looks at my stomach and stands up so I can have his seat?! I actually looked around to see if he was letting like a 90 year old sit down before I realised!! Bump must have looked more pronounced after my casserole with pierogi dumplings 😂

MrsEG · 25/06/2019 21:09

@Fivebyfive2 Hun, that actually happened to me once on the tram just after a big meal. I was so embarrassed I just took the seat and rubbed my belly. Can’t wait for it to happen for real haha!!
So glad you’ve enjoyed the day! Lakes has been glorious - so out of breath walking but feeling all the better for it now! Good luck with the scan on Monday!

@purplefig DH has pregnancy for men from last time; he’s only read up to 12 weeks but he really enjoyed it. He actually went out and bought it himself 😍

@Delilah7 He is absolutely bloody adorable. Those eyes!! Xx

MrsR16 · 25/06/2019 23:05

@Delilah7 omg he is such a cutie!! 😍😍 congrats on your first post labour poo! Must be a good feeling to get that done and dusted! 😂 xx

@Fivebyfive2 I definitely had a bloat bump for weeks! I've felt huge for ages! I think the bloat is finally subsiding and a little teeny tiny baby bump is coming through. Not that anyone else can notice it - it just looks like I've had a huge dinner! 😂😂

RanchoRelaxo · 26/06/2019 07:26

Thank you @MrsC87 @MrsEG
@purplefig I went off coffee at the start too, it was a strange one cause I missed it so much I really wanted to want it, but everytime I had a sip it made me feel awful 😂 this last month now I have actually been enjoying it again, although only having decaf
How are you feeling about the induction @MrsC87? There's no guarantee I will actually be called in on the Monday, could be late evening or even Tuesday, it's just a wait by the phone game 😂 so we could end up going through it on the same day!
