Catching up with those from TTC 1st baby - thread 4

Hey guys, started a new thread as it was getting close to the end of the last one!

@EltzBee yeah, it was a bit! We'd have absolutely had it last night if they could have done a different seat liner at the same price! Ah well, it obviously wasn't meant to be! Thankfully the weight's not too bad for me - I'm fairly fit (although that's gone down the pan since I got pregnant!) and can lift heavyish stuff without too many problems. I also have a Zafira, so haven't got to lift it too high to get it in the boot.

@Delilah7 oh goodness, I am so excited for you!!! All the horrible stuff that you've had to deal with for the last few months will all be totally worth it! Xx

@MrsR16 least you got it ordered :) hopefully it's not too long a wait! Our Merc A Class isn't too bad to get things in and out of, but needed something smaller for the Fiat 500 lol. I think I spent longer test driving prams and putting them up/down etc than I did probably with our cars haha.

Our other car seat/base are out for delivery today too, yay :) I think we might just put them in to the car soon, we have the Cosatto base in the Fiat, but thinking might just keep the car seat in there too as I'm not sure where to put them in the house other than keep tripping over them in the nursery lol.

Just a quick update from me, 36 weeks today and had my last growth scan. He's weighing 7lb 4! Induction booked for 3rd July 😆 when I will be 38+1

Sadly this week my brother in law has been diagnosed with leukaemia 😥 he is only 24!
Just feel guilty hubby and I are going through the happiest times of our lives whereas my brother in law and sister in law are going through hell 😓
Trying to remain positive for the family and hoping our boy brings some joy in such a sad time! x

@MrsC87 ah wow at your scan, that's a good weight already! Not long to go now for you.

Sorry to hear about your BIL, that's awful :( hope they are able to treat early and that your little boy will be able to help give them some hope and happier distractions.

@MrsC87 sorry about your in law hun, that must be tough. I understand the feeling of guilt for having a happy thing about to happen when a sad thing has taken place. I feel the same regards to grandad :( Atleast your little one is thriving!!! Xx

@MrsR16 thank you!!! I'm nervous. Very nervous.

Also, they've now found out the problem they thought was my liver is actually with my placenta which I was telling them all along!!

@MrsC87 you haven't got long now either! Sorry to hear about your BIL too-hopefully your new arrival will give him something positive to enjoy when he's finding it tough.

I've had great news at work today about a piece of work that has caused me so much stress over the last six weeks-I feel so much lighter and happier now, like I can enjoy my pregnancy more (instead of worrying that work stress is harming the baby).

@BostonFern thankfully my support tube has helped a lot today (that and taking it easy!)

I had weird cramps earlier, almost like period cramps, but they disappeared quickly. Assuming baby poked somewhere weird....!

@MrsC87 I'm booked in for induction Friday! Be bang on 37 weeks. I'm ok. With grandads funeral yesterday and all this I'm just in abit of a whirlwind lol. You ok?? Xx

Wow @Delilah, exciting. How are you feeling about it? Have they asked you to start expressing colostrum? They have been and only just had a go and nothing!! 🙄😂
Yeh I'm doing okay, weirdly it's good having a date to prepare for. Keep us updated with everything, I'm very excited for you xxx

@MrsC87 I won't be breastfeeding so I'm guessing that'll be why they haven't? Lol. It is indeed, I'll keep you guys as updated as possible just hope it goes more simple than this pregnancy and I'm not there for a week or so lol xxx

Well I've just had a go and it's hard work, nothing happened, hope it's not setting the precedent for breastfeeding when he's here 🙈
They sometimes say hard pregnancy, easy birth! So I've got everything crossed it'll be a breeze for you 😘 xxx

@MrsC87 😂😂 I've had a few times where I've felt a wet patch near my nipple only slightly lol. I hope that's the case :( rather scared tbh xx

Sorry to hear your news @MrsC87. Like others have said I hope the baby will bring some joy at what is an emotional time.

I had reduced movements again yesterday so went to assessment unit this morning. All OK but did an ultrasound and baby is measuring 97th centile for head and stomach. She said nothing I've done just a healthy baby. Estimated current weight is 6 lb 10. Getting a bit worried again as I'm only 5 ft and petite build usually.

20 week scan all done today. Everything was fab! Baby was as active as ever. Made the sonographer work for her measurements at some points but she said everything was fabulous, baby was suckling away at one point - so cute!

We found out (very easily- baby isn't shy! 🙈) that we are having a little.... BOY💙💙

@Delilah7 I assume you have been spoken to about what happens in induction by your midwife? My midwife was pretty brief but I'd done a lot of research. I'm going for the epidural lol, especially not knowing how my body will react to the pessary. I'm most scared about it escalating to a c section.
Which part are you worried about or all it? xx

19+6 today and think that I've been feeling some little movements this week. Still super anxious I'm making it all up and counting down the hours until our scan Friday. I'm starting to have quite a heavy feeling at times in my groin, anyone had that this early? Worried that baby only weighs 240g and feels like a 5g weight on my fanny, whatever will it feel like by the end?!
