@AngeloMysterioso congratulations!

@Tropicana1 It's not that it turns my stomach, I just don't have my usual fancy for them. I really thought I'd struggle to give up coffee, and instead I'm just like 'eh'.

@BabySquid Oh that's so exciting - it's the same for us too. They're all going to be so over the moon.

Has anyone else experienced cramping early on? Since before my period and ever since I've had a really dull, faint cramp/ache. It doesn't really feel like AF cramps, but it's a bit strange. No bleeding or anything. Just thought I'd see.

BabySquid · 11/06/2019 16:11

@purplefig I'm getting dull cramps. One of these lovely ladies said (which was confirmed by Dr google) that it's just things stretching. I've had it for about a week now and it's still there on and off (more off than on thankfully)

EltzBee · 11/06/2019 16:16

Hi ladies, sorry been a busy few days and not been online, lots of messages to catch up on eek.

@Bettythecat haha I was doing my temperature every single morning, and I really thought we were out the cycle we got pregnant as it had dipped. Did my temp and then it suddenly shot back up, DH was still asleep so I went and did a cheapie and could see 'something' on the test line, did a boots one and was literally like, oh my God. Had to go wake DH up and go I need you to look at something. So you're definitely not the only one to be crazy-lady-in-pjs :D :D :D

@AngeloMysterioso glad the scan went well!

@purplefig @Crossfitgirl feeling very jealous! I've never been to Cornwall Blush I don't really know 'why', I think it's just when we go on holiday I always look at going away overseas and holidaying at home seems quite expensive still in comparison?! Hope the weather isn't too bad down there! Here in Oxfordshire it's barely stopped raining since Sunday, saves me watering the garden though :)

For those strugglng with food/drink aversions - it's weird isn't it! I've always been a lover of a good cuppa tea, but I went off of my morning cuppa for a while when I kept being sick - thankfully that's passed now though! I do only have decaf now, I did used to have one 'normal' cup in the morning but baby didn't seem to like it.

Good news our nursery furniture has now all arrived and is all built too (yay!). Mothercare kindly have sent me a voucher to apologies for the delivery problems too. Really pleased with how it looks, it's so gorgeous.

We've got our pram and car seat/base too; we are thinking of getting a 2nd car seat though so we can have one in each car, so we need to work out what to do/get. The bases are so expensive that if we do that, I want to try and get one where the base can be used for the next stage seat too, if that makes sense!

We'll be putting some wall stickers up in a few weeks time in the nursery (waiting til my parents are back in the UK so they can give us a hand!). So exciting!!

Oh and I've washed 2/3rds of the baby clothes now too, I think we have enough little white vests that the baby will only wear each one once or twice at this rate lol! [grin Everyone says how you can end up changing them a few times a day though right!!

Off for a pregnancy massage in a couple hours; still struggling with hip pain and waiting for a referral to physio from midwife. So in the mean time going to see and do what I can do, to try and get some relief.

Bettythecat · 11/06/2019 16:17

@purplefig I'm also getting some weird cramping but mine is sometimes more like a very slight pain that lasts a second and goes away again all over but low down...hard to describe the feeling. I do feel some sort of heaviness too sometimes which is a bit like cramping.

EltzBee · 11/06/2019 17:00

@Bettythecat @purplefig cramping early on is quite normal, it's where the ligaments are all starting to stretch already. It used to freak me out to begin with but the GP said it's quite normal. It's surprising how early the body adapts!

BostonFern · 11/06/2019 17:41

Congratulations @AngeloMysterioso!

@EltzBee you must be so pleased to have the nursery furniture set up, I'm glad they've compensated you with vouchers too. Hope you enjoyed your pregnancy massage too!

I'm 16 weeks tomorrow and thought I'd got over the nausea....nope, sudden wave of it hit me as I was about to get in the car this morning so I was stood heaving in the rain. 🤦🏼‍♀️

purplefig · 12/06/2019 10:15

@BabySquid @Bettythecat @EltzBee glad the cramping is normal! It comes and goes and feels much duller than AF, but it's still unnerving.

@EltzBee Wow that all sounds very organised! When did you start researching what to get etc.? And are there any good resources you'd reccomend? Totally get you on the holidaying abroad thing too, but the older I get the more I like exploring the UK.

@BostonFern sorry to hear the nausea is back...I hope it doesn't return full force. I'm just over 5 weeks and haven't got any as of yet.

How's everyone doing today? To be totally honest, I'm really emotional at the moment and incredibly up and down. It's really thrown me because I am so elated to be pregnant finally, but I just keep feeling waves of stress/worry/sadness for no obvious reason. Can I blame it on the hormones?! I don't think it's helped by reading lots of MN threads about MCs and so I keep thinking to myself it's silly to get too excited at the moment.

Fivebyfive2 · 12/06/2019 11:35

@purplefig, I avoid any and all threads where the title sounds like it relates specially to mc!! It sounds bad but while I'd 100% want to know what is going on with you guys and want to be there for everyone here if something goes wrong, there's just no way I can deal with reading every single 'bad news' type thread... It gets too much!! Xxx

EltzBee · 12/06/2019 11:37

@purplefig pram wise we went and tried lots in the stores - we tried them out in Mothercare, John Lewis and Mama's and Papa's and put together our own 'shortlist' of ones we liked, and tried those again and read lots of reviews (googling the brand and seeing reviews on baby sites, but also reading reviews on the product pages). Mothercare were by far the most helpful and knowledgeable for us and had the best range. We ended up getting ours at the Baby Show and getting a bundle deal, we felt confident enough to 'go for it' because we'd done the legwork in advance and knew what we liked and wanted!

Nursery furniture we did the same, went around everywhere, read reviews, looked at alternatives etc. We ordered ours from Mothercare and went with the Lulworth set as we both really liked it. We chose a cot bed so it would last them til 4 years, and took advise from the store staff on which mattress etc to get :)

I started looking shortly after our 12 week scan after I read some ladies on MumsNet had to wait 3 or 4 months for delivery! We ordered our pram at 20 weeks, and ordered our nursery furniture at 22/23 weeks which took 5/6 weeks in total to all arrive. I have to say I'm glad we've got it done now - it was already getting difficult to build it all as it's that bit harder to crawl around on the floor and move around like normal lol! I'm 29 weeks on Friday. So would recommend looking reasonably early to allow yourself time to go back a couple of times, try different places/brands and factor in time to build things!

@BostonFern ah no! I had similar - I was being sick continuously, then had a 5 or 6 day respite about 17 weeks where I thought it had gone but it came back til 21 weeks. Really hope yours disappears soon too!

@purplefig it sounds like hormones, they do definitely make you go up and down like a yo yo! If you do feel that it's becoming more frequent though, please speak to your GP or midwife, as there are things that you can do to help. Try and avoid the threads that could be a trigger too - please put your own mental health first. I pretty much only stick to this thread on MN - throughout the ladies here have been so, so great and I think it actually really helps having us all across different due dates as there's always someone that has 'been there' and can share their experience and help provide some information or advise, or a virtual hand hold :) please don't let the anxiety and sadness become too big - ask for help if you need it.

purplefig · 12/06/2019 11:45

@Fivebyfive2 yeah I think you're right. It just seems like it happens so often, but it's probably a case of people posting/looking for support when they are in that situation and not when everything is ticking along as it should be.

@EltzBee The 12 week scan sounds like a reasonable time to start looking. Corr you really did do your research; I just looked up the Lulworth set - gorgeous! I see your logic in getting it done early, before the bump starts to seriously get in the way. Thanks for you comment about hormones too. I am fine on the whole, I think the mood swings have just taken me a bit by surprise as I'm generally a very positive/hard to shake kind of person. I'm going to take both of your advice and avoid other threads for now. Thanks both!

MrsR16 · 12/06/2019 13:11

Fivebyfive2 · 12/06/2019 13:22

@MrsR16, yaaaaaaassss!!! Congratulations!! I'm so happy to hear all is well and omg that picture!! Amazing 😃
Xxxxx

MrsR16 · 12/06/2019 13:25

@Fivebyfive2 thank you lovely! It's such a weight lifted! 😘😘 xx

purplefig · 12/06/2019 14:17

@MrsR16 ahhhh congratulations!! Is it you that was due Christmas Day? How exciting you might get to meet before!

stormtrooperjulian · 12/06/2019 14:23

@purplefig it’s definitely the hormones. I’m usually very resilient but I’ve been a total emotional mess for the past 5 months! Was particularly bad up til around 20 weeks, I’d have to wake DH in the middle of the night because I was stressing so much I needed him to calm me down, not even about anything specific just random stressing. I’m a lot less anxious now but still getting very tearful and emotional over ridiculous things.

@MrsR16 yay I’m so glad your scan went well!

purplefig · 12/06/2019 14:49

@stormtrooperjulian sorry to hear that, though selfishly glad it's not just me! It's good to know it's normal to feel a bit all over the place. DH is being great and I'm telling my parents tomorrow and I know my mum will be an excellent support too.

EltzBee · 12/06/2019 15:24

@MrsR16 ah lovely scan pic :) :) how many weeks did they date you to?

Delilah7 · 12/06/2019 16:30

@MrsR16 awwww yay!! Xx

BostonFern · 12/06/2019 18:16

@purplefig @EltzBee thank you. I've not felt sick today, but have felt very tearful! I think a combination of hormones and a big deadline to meet tomorrow are responsible for that.

@MrsR16 so pleased your scan has gone well, and that's a great picture too.

Fivebyfive2 · 12/06/2019 18:37

Ladies!! Got the letter through for my 12 week scan, it is 1st July so less than 3 weeks to go! I'm so excited, just hope that after everything was fine at the 9 week scan at the weekend, everything will still be OK!! Xx

MrsR16 · 12/06/2019 18:45

@purplefig yes I was due Christmas Day! Baby is growing so well that I'm measuring ahead!

@stormtrooperjulian thank you!! 😘

@EltzBee I'm officially 13 weeks today, so a whole week ahead of where I was!

@Delilah7 thank you 😊 xx

@BostonFern thank you! Xx

Delilah7 · 12/06/2019 18:46

@Fivebyfive2 that's so exciting!!! Xxx

Bettythecat · 12/06/2019 19:34

@EltzBee that sounds so organised of you but also so satisfying and fun- I think I will take a leaf out of your book. Also lovely to make the fun of choosing things last as long as possible. 💕

@MrsR16 what a lovely picture- hugest congratulations! I bet you are over the moon.

@Fivebyfive2 I got my booking appointment through today and mine is the 1s July too! I'm sure everything will be perfect at your scan- I think the chances of things going wrong when they are all going right at 9 weeks are close to zero.

Had a bit of a rough day today- woke up feeling really worried for some reason and then panicked myself that my boobs being less sore was a sign of something. Managed to get myself in a real flap. Now on the sofa feeling absolutely knackered most likely from all the worrying I've done! I've sent DH out to buy ice cream and got Big Little Lies to watch. One more week until my 7 week scan and I just wish I could fall asleep and wake up on the day!

Fivebyfive2 · 12/06/2019 20:19

@bettythecat, that's great about your booking apt! And I hope time goes quickly until your 7 weeks scan; is it next Wed?? Waaaayyy easier said than done, but try not to over analyse symptoms/lack of. My boobs are fine some days and hurt like hell on others! I'll keep everything crossed for you and I'm sure all will be well xxxx

Ooooo, look at me, sounding all zen at whatever... Because I totally haven't been googling "chances of mc after seeing heartbeat at 9 weeks" like a full on nutter... Honest!! 🙄🤦‍♀️
