@EltzBee my first scan I had I thought i was further along and was only 6 weeks 2 days but they didn't have to do internal. I just saw the gestation and yolk sack. Went back two weeks later and a baby and heartbeat was there 😍

EltzBee · 07/06/2019 16:15

@Delilah7 you were lucky then!

I've had enough today and only been back to work since 9am :(

Delilah7 · 07/06/2019 16:21

@EltzBee very much so. Must admit after seeing a scan so early it did make me worry for two more weeks.

Have any of you ladies who are further along some a strep b test?! My friends just panicked me as you have to source these yourself!

EltzBee · 07/06/2019 16:31

@Delilah7 no not looked at getting one, the NHS doesn't recommend it as part of the normal screening do they? I think if you do have one it has to be within a couple weeks of your due date to be valid or something anyway...my midwife hasn't even mentioned it as being something to worry about?!

Delilah7 · 07/06/2019 17:23

@EltzBee same as mine! she hasn't said anything x x

EltzBee · 07/06/2019 17:30

@Delilah7 looking into it, I don't think it's something I will do privately. Even if you did get a positive test back, that doesn't mean anything 'bad' would happen, but would get pumped with antibiotics during labour and have less choice of where to give birth. It sounds like the risks are pretty low.

Just realised today that it was 28 days ago I notified my employer in writing of my maternity leave start date. But they've still not confirmed anything to me in in writing, or confirmed when my maternity leave will end etc - which I thought legally they had to do within 28 days! Bit confused as to what to do. I emailed them over a photo of my MATB1 certificate today as I only got that yesterday at 28wk appointment, and did send it with my previous email below...not sure what to do!

MrsR16 · 07/06/2019 18:23

@EltzBee as far as I know, I've not even had a risk assessment done for me at work yet! My voluntary work is sorting one for me, but paid work? Nada! Not that my job is particularly stressful or risk-heavy, but still... isn't this something they should be doing?

@Delilah7 I cannot believe you're 35 weeks already!! Where has that time gone?

Fivebyfive2 · 07/06/2019 18:47

Hi all!

@delilah7, that's a fine bump you've got there! Xx

@MrsR16, sorry to hear you need an internal exam, they're just rubbish aren't they?! Peanut definitely keeping you busy! Xx

I've got my early scan tomorrow (you know, the one I was sooo determined not to have!! 😂) Should be 8 weeks and 6 days. Had a dream last night they found it was all wrong again and when we stepped out of the scan room, our parents were there and mil kept asking me what's wrong with you, why do you keep messing it up?! Woke up really confused!! Hopefully all will be OK tomorrow now!!

MrsR16 · 07/06/2019 19:02

@Fivebyfive2 yeah, it's not ideal. Now just to remember to wake up early tomorrow and attempt to get an appointment! You and baby will be fine! I have a great feeling about this for you! Be prepared to cry 😊 I did! Xx

Delilah7 · 07/06/2019 19:08

@EltzBee yeah I don't know what to do! Xx

@MrsR16 I know!!! I don't understand where it's gone either xxx

@Fivebyfive2 thanks hun! I'm sure everything will be fine, keep positive darling x x

BabySquid · 07/06/2019 19:22

@EltzBee if you've only just sent your matB1, they were probs waiting for it (I work in payroll) and we legally need to see it before confirming anything it writing. You should get a schedule of your gross payments soon, if you've not had anything by next Thursday then chase them up, doesn't take too long to calculate I do it all the time(did mine the other day!) Also you get 39 paid weeks of Mat leave, but can take up to 52 weeks off, but the remaining 13 weeks are unpaid (unless you have anything in your personal contract)

Tropicana1 · 07/06/2019 19:26

@Bettythecat you can have some of my sickness if you want!! Threw up 3 times today and feel awful!

@EltzBee it doesn't really affect giving birth unless you wanted a home birth - I tested group b strep positive during my hospital stay so they've advised I have IV antibiotics during labour. It's just a dose every 4 hours to stop the baby getting meningitis, and the midwife said I can still be active and use a pool if I want to etc so it shouldn't really change much :)

Got my date through for my 12 week scan today! Very excited, just 3 and a bit weeks to wait!

Tropicana1 · 07/06/2019 19:28

And congratulation @purplefig!! What a lovely strong line!

EltzBee · 07/06/2019 21:47

@Tropicana1 I think it rules out most MLU.
Not long till your scan FX for you.

@BabySquid I think our system just isn't very joined up tbh, payroll is outsourced for the UK.

Feeling a bit bleh this evening

Tropicana1 · 08/06/2019 08:10

@EltzBee ah my midwife unit is attached to the hospital so luckily not a problem for me :)

MrsEG · 08/06/2019 08:51

@Delilah7 You look fab! I’m fine lovely thanks for asking; finally got to see the recurrent miscarriage consultant this week and she was SO amazing, have had a gazillion blood tests done and just waiting on results now. I’ll be completely under her care for any future pregnancies now so starting to feel a bit more hopeful I’ll get my baby soon♥️
Good luck with giving birth; I honestly can’t believe it’s so soon! It was you who welcomed me to the TTC thread all those months ago! Can’t wait to hear about your little man x

@Tropicana1 So good to see you are progressing really well too (well, if you can count sickness as ‘well’)! Glad you have recovered!

Great weekend to all ladies x

Delilah7 · 08/06/2019 09:38

@MrsEG I'm so glad you're feeling abit more up beat about everything. I as you know understand it's hard even from just having one miscarriage. Always helps when you've got someone dedicated to you who you can build a working relationship with and someone you trust! I can't wait to hear how your bloods come back and what the plan is! Thank you. I don't feel particularly fab, if I'm honest I just want him out and this to be over. I want my little son here to enjoy the start of that journey. Feels weird I welcomed a lot of the people from a thread I started which is still going!! I love it. 😍 x

Tropicana1 · 08/06/2019 11:54

@MrsEG so glad to hear you've got a good consultant and a plan of investigation in place!! Hope you get some answers quickly and then get your very well deserved baby ❤️

BabySquid · 08/06/2019 13:13

Eeeek guys I've just got my booking appointment through. Right in the middle of the day tho 🤦🏼‍♀️ 11:30! But at least it's just down the road and I don't have to go into Bradford hospital for it! Feels real now excited!!!!

MrsR16 · 08/06/2019 13:16

@BabySquid ooh that's exciting!! It starts to feel much more real then! Xx

Delilah7 · 08/06/2019 13:29

L @BabySquid excitinggggg xxxx

Fivebyfive2 · 08/06/2019 14:11

Hi ladies! Scan went really well, we're so relieved /excited!! I was a bit worried because although they picked up the heartbeat straight away, for images they said they needed to do an internal scan! Apparently that's normal sometimes at this stage to see everything clearly. Little jelly baby is doing just fine, moving around and even measuring a day ahead so they put me at bang on 9 weeks!!

Bettythecat · 08/06/2019 14:22

@Fivebyfive2 OMGGGGGG I'm soooo happy for you!!!! Yayyyy! Amazing news 🥰

Fivebyfive2 · 08/06/2019 14:36

@bettythecat, thanks hun!! It definitely feels more real now... I find it so weird (in the best way) that so much is happening in there 🙂 Dh got a bit emotional, he is really excited now... We went to the supermarket after to do the food shopping (such an exciting life!!) and he was looking at baby stuff. He also picked up a 'family size' bag of sweets because, apparently, "we can have these now" 😂

Delilah7 · 08/06/2019 16:57

@Fivebyfive2 this is so exciting 😍😍
