Yes very true @Delilah7 🥰
Congratulations @purplefig, wonderful news! Bet you are over the moon!! Welcome aboard!
We've had so many new BFP's which is great, shall we do a due date list?

@MrsC87 DD 16th July with a 💙

MrsR16 · 07/06/2019 08:39

@purplefig I was hoping to see you here! Your symptoms looked so promising! I promise I'm not a stalker xx

purplefig · 07/06/2019 09:08

@MrsC87 Thank you! Ooo great idea....ok so according to an online calculator my due date is Feb 11th. Your due date is so soon!! How exciting. Have you picked out names yet?

@MrsR16 haha thanks lovely! Love a good stalking sesh Wink

Does anyone have any top tips on getting out of drinking? We've got friends down this weekend and I don't want to tell them as it feels way too early. I've got a really horrible cold sore...wondering I could tie this in with antibiotics? Any ideas?! I am a total noob as you can tell.

Delilah7 · 07/06/2019 09:17

@purplefig OMG!!! Congratulations my lovely xxxxx

Thought I'd throw in a bump date pic

MrsEG · 07/06/2019 09:27

@MrsC87 @Delilah7 Hi ladies, just checking in to make sure I haven’t missed any babies!! How exciting you’re both going to meet your little ones so soon - how are you feeling?? Delilah look at your lovely neat bump!! Good luck over the next few weeks girls - you’ll be superheroes I’m sure and those babies will be in your arms soon!

Crossfitgirl · 07/06/2019 09:59

Hi everyone! Just checking back in, sorry I've not been on here much, I've been off mumsnet for a few weeks (or feels like!) while we've been super busy!

Congratulations @bettythecat and @purplefig! I have probably missed lots and plan to try read through the thread this weekend and reply to things I've missed, sorry if I've missed any other BFPs!

I'm 31 weeks today, we've painted baby's room and I've started packing my hospital bag, we've got baby's first outfit sorted, and are just patiently awaiting our delivery of pram, furniture, crib, cot and car seat in 2 weeks time! Come onnn!

Been to meet the hospital midwives, starting NCT classes in 3 weeks, got the health visitor booked in and all my midwife appts up to doing my birth plan.
I've even started my hypnobirthing pack!

It's all getting SO REAL!!!!

Hope you ladies are all doing OK, staying healthy and cooking those little ones good and proper 😊

Xxx

@MrsEG not yet. Could be mine in a week or two! Doesn't feel neat feels massive to me but that's because I'm not used to much on my tummy/waist 😂😂 how're you?

Cookie0508 · 07/06/2019 10:04

Hello ladies, sorry I've been AWOL again. Just really busy. Hope you're all doing ok.

My little boy is doing fine but I just wanted to let you know that if you're ever worried about your baby's movements don't hesitate to call your maternity unit. He was unusually quiet after dinner one evening and I debated about calling but he made a couple of movements and I just went to bed. Woke up about 2am and he was completely still which is unusual because he usually makes the odd kick when I wake up in the night. I walked about for a bit, drank some cold water and just waited to see if he moved but I just got a single faint kick. Of course I got onto Google and every response was get checked out. I called up my maternity unit who asked various questions and told me to pop in.

They were all absolutely lovely and I got taken into triage where the midwife on duty did some checks, set me up on a machine and got me to press a button with each kick I feel. Thankfully he made enough kicks for it not to be a worry but at no time did I feel I'd wasted their time. They just made some notes and let me go home. I'm so glad I callled in as I was properly freaking out.

He made up for it the next day by constantly reminding me where my internal organs are! So if you're ever worried, don't hesitate to call in :)

Bettythecat · 07/06/2019 10:13

@Delilah7 look at that gorgeous bump!! I honestly can't wait for that to be me!

@Crossfitgirl oh my goodness how exciting it must feel so surreal. Send us some pics of the nursery and pram and everything won't you.

@Cookie0508 I'm so glad they took you seriously and were able to set your mind at ease. The NHS is made up of some seriously kind souls.

I woke up feeling so anxious today. I'm 5 + 1 and completely overanalysing every symptom (or lack of). My boobs seem to be getting less sore by the day although DH assures me they are bigger!! I've listened to some pregnancy affirmations on YouTube which helped to calm me down a bit but it's just so hard not to be anxious after last time. Bring on the sickness please!!

MrsC87 · 07/06/2019 10:20

@purplefig hubby and I don't agree on names at the minute 🙈 the only one we do is Charlie, but it's not my top choice. I love Oliver but will have to work on hubby lol!

I'd go down the antibiotics route, or say you are drinking vodka and coke and don't add the vodka...just means you have to do your own drinks.

Beautiful Bump @Delilah7 🥰 I haven't taken any recent pics, I should cause I'll miss my bump when he's here.

@MrsEG yeh feeling good, maternity leave is bliss, still in my PJ's. Ladies definitely give yourselves a rest before baby arrives, the difference I feel checking out of work!

So true @Cookie0508, the care and midwives I have come into contact have been wonderful and never have I been made to feel like I'm wasting their time. Everyone knocks the NHS but I think they do a cracking job! How many weeks are you now? xx

MrsC87 · 07/06/2019 10:24

@Bettythecat as a bit of reassurance, apart from cramps the week of BFP which was 5 days before period was due, I felt no different, in fact better than normal...i worried I had no symptoms so ended up having an early scan and all was fine.
Then the sickness hit, solid for the first 3 months 🙈😳 was horrible!
So not to wish sickness on you but you will prob have it kick in in a week or two.
It's hard not to worry but wanted you reassure you I was very similar to you in the first weeks of finding out 😘

BabySquid · 07/06/2019 12:13

@purplefig congratulations have you worked out your due date... for my BFP last Friday and I'm 7th Feb.

Oh wow @Delilah7 your bump is amazing 😍

@Bettythecat I'm totes with you on the lack of symptoms... I'm feeling like my boobs aren't feeling as bad... I'm just 1 day ahead of you so feel like this is normal if you're experiencing it too.

CobaltRose96 · 07/06/2019 12:18

Scarlett was 12 weeks old yesterday! ❤️ and to celebrate, she slept from 9pm - 6:30am! Grin

@BabySquid awww thanks guys. Means a lot as I feel HUGE 😂 xx

@CobaltRose96 she's so cute 😍

Lootus · 07/06/2019 12:44

Hi all. I know it’s a different subject, but wondered if any of you had any sort of infection with a high temperature? I’m on antibiotics and taking paracetamol for fever but I’m worried that it may affect the baby. I’m 17 weeks now. Anyone experienced similar and all is well?

CobaltRose96 · 07/06/2019 12:46

@Lootus, I got bronchitis twice during my pregnancy (once at 20 weeks and again at 37 weeks). Had to take antibiotics twice, and as you can see above my baby was perfectly healthy Smile

EltzBee · 07/06/2019 13:37

@purplefig congrats! To the avoiding drinking, most people pay less attention to what we’re drinking than we think :D if anyone asks just say you’re on antibiotics or cutting it out for health etc etc.

@Crossfitgirl oh gosh a birth plan. Does ‘get the baby out’ count as a plan?! I must start our hypnobirthing e-course as well…

@Cookie0508 ah bless you, glad he was okay - it is definitely always best to check these things!

@Delilah7 you look amazing!

@CobaltRose96 ah she is so gorgeous! What an awesome nights sleep too, I’m not sleeping that well at the moment due to my hips! Bet you feel good today!

I’m 28 weeks today - so officially in the 3rd trimester! Eeek! Had my 28 week appointment with the midwife yesterday, all fine with baby, measuring 28cm which she said is spot on so happy days there. She thinks baby is still head ‘up’ at the moment, but said nothing to worry about, they’ll probably move ‘upside down’ in the next 3 to 4 weeks or so and in the mean time will continue to wriggle around and change position quite a bit. Yesterday evening she was really going for it, DH felt lots of them too and kept watching to see her kicks make my tummy move

I’m waiting on a physio referral for my hips/pelvis pain now; I’m really struggling, last night I didn’t sleep too well again as the pain has gotten so bad again. I’ve booked a pregnancy massage for Tuesday in the hope that’ll help a bit in the mean time. Just wish I could get a decent nights sleep!

I’ve told work I won’t be going to the conference in London next week; there’s just no way I would be able to cope with a whole day and evening in London, plus the travel. I feel guilty missing it, and a bit sad as it’ll be a really good event, but I don’t want to go and then have a funny episode again whilst I’m there, or end up paying for it for days afterwards with exhaustion and pain. It’s not worth the risk for me and Bean.

What does everyone have planned for the weekend? We’re off to see friends on Sunday for lunch, and I’m hoping to get some organising of the spare rooms out on Saturday (fingers crossed!).

MrsR16 · 07/06/2019 13:44

@purplefig ooh, February's the best time for a birthday (mine's on the 10th!) 😊 better than my current due date of Christmas Day!

@Delilah7 you look super beautiful! Bump is so neat!

@Cookie0508 great to hear from you! I'm glad your baby boy's doing ok, even if he is giving you a mini meltdown!

@CobaltRose96 Scarlett is so gorgeous! I'm glad she's started sleeping through for you!

Spotting started again this morning, ladies! Peanut's determined to make sure the world knows they exist!! Midwife isn't concerned, but I'm gonna have to go to the GP for a cervix check! Yay...

EltzBee · 07/06/2019 13:47

@MrsR16 hope the spotting doesn't last long, your little Peanut does like to keep you on your toes already don't they! When is your 12wk scan, is it next week? Good luck with the GP, let us know how you get on.

Delilah7 · 07/06/2019 13:58

@EltzBee thank you my lovely! Ah that's spot on measurements wise! I was always 2 weeks behind until the other day when I shot up 😂. Make sure you rest. I have SPD and got crutches/physio and it defo helped! I have my baby shower this weekend 😍😍😍 other than that not a lot you?
We registered grandads death today. I went with my mum :( xxx

@MrsR16 thank you! Don't you just LOVE an internal 🙄 xxx

MrsR16 · 07/06/2019 14:02

@EltzBee fingers crossed! Yes my dating scan's next Wednesday so not long to wait! Peanut's going to be a little trouble maker for sure (just like its daddy!) GP surgery's shut this afternoon, so will have to wait till tomorrow! Xx

@Delilah7 I know... I'm lucky - I've not had one since my smear test last year, but it had to happen at some point! Xx

Delilah7 · 07/06/2019 14:09

@MrsR16 I managed to get to 34 weeks ( last friday ) without any people going near my whohar. Then she goes ' can I check to see if you're cervix is closed ' I was like oh ffs. 😂😂

EltzBee · 07/06/2019 15:42

@MrsR16 @Delilah7 it's totally what also put me off having an early scan, that everything I looked at said they're high odds of needing to be internal! I've not had one since my smear test least year either, fingers crossed lol.

Urgh sorry need to rant; was off work for 2 days this week as was in absolute agony and not sleeping because of the pain; now turns out someone seems to have agreed to a client that we'll do some work and complete it by next Wednesday, when we're not even due to scope the work out til Thursday let alone have a planned start date! Grrrrrr!
