Daffodil2491 thats lovely, we were planninh something similar, just DH got quite merry after my 10 week scan and blurted it out in excitement.

How is everyone? Hope all are well and getting a good shot of vitamin D.

Daffodil2491 · 03/06/2019 21:43

@Kathryn19 glad you’re feeling better and taking care of yourself, wow third trimester, another milestone hit! It was so cute lol their faces were an absolute picture! Had my 20 week scan today it was amazing such clear pictures of some things like the heart chambers and the spine and other times she was like ‘and there’s two kidneys and a bladder’ and I was like ‘ummmm if you say so’ lol. Little monkey was sucking it’s toes too! So cute.

@64632K I’m good thanks, my hips are a bit sore but otherwise we’re ok! Had a lovely day at the beach on Friday, we took the puppy for the first time lol she loved it! I think it’s lovely that your DH was so excited to share your news, my DP is getting progressively more excited and he was pretty chuffed to begin with lol.

Hope everyone is ok, we’ve been a bit quieter recently, finding it harder to post as it’s not half term now so not as much free time lol.

Xyzzzzz · 03/06/2019 21:53

I really want cake but can’t eat it 😕 cause of the diabetes

Kathryn19 · 03/06/2019 22:26

Sounds amazing @Daffodil4291! Boo to half term being over. I have also found work to have majorly ramped up recently.
@64632K we missed out on the sun with a weekend in Scotland! Was very nice nonethless though.

Having some frustrating times over my heart related appointments. GP wants me to have a cardiologist check over but says quickest through midwife. Midwife being unhelpful. Will probably go back to GP!

Also had my first NCT class. Not utterly convinced we are making friends for life. Also felt so so about the content. Useful exercises but also some less so. Just doubting it is worth what I spent. Sigh. Hopefully the week picks up!

Becki2802 · 04/06/2019 14:03

Congratulations :) I’m 24+2 weeks pregnant and would love another mummy to be to speak to :)

Kathryn19 · 04/06/2019 21:07

Hi @Becki2802! How are you and bump doing?

Becki2802 · 04/06/2019 22:06

Hi @kathryn19 me and bump are doing well. She’s took a liking to kicking me very hard throughout the night now ha. Also just getting over a UTI in pregnancy which hasn’t been a nice experience to say the least!! How are you and your bump doing?

Kathryn19 · 04/06/2019 22:17

@Becki2802 awww great that she is active, not so good for your sleep! Feel like mine kicks all day now, but particularly strong when I'm resting of course. Think she is doing well, I am beginning to feel a bit big at 28 weeks!

BobbySD345 · 06/06/2019 10:06

I've just booked on a Mothercare parent event next weekend. I've been told they're good for first time mum's to learn what we might need ! Thought I'd share :)

64632K · 06/06/2019 10:36

Becki2802 I hope you are feeling better.

Glad to hear everyone is doing well. My little one is very active but I read that from 22 weeks onwards they sleep equal amounts of time as they are awake.

I have had a rotten cold for the last week so been very bunged up. Bit annoyed how work colleagues feel like they can touch my bump without permission and apparently asking inappropriate questions is also fine now that I have a bump

Xyzzzzz · 06/06/2019 21:58

@64632K I made it clear people can’t touch my bump!

64632K · 07/06/2019 14:24

@Xyzzzzz I didn't really think I would have to tbh, I am not a hugger and am very boundaried when it comes to physical contact not just as work but in general. Just very odd why people think its ok to touch a pregnant woman when they wouldn't do the same to a non pregnany woman.

Xyzzzzz · 07/06/2019 16:13

Yeah people are bizzare and think it’s ok to touch a bump and invade space. They also think it’s ok to provide unwanted advice. 🙄🙄.

Kathryn19 · 07/06/2019 20:20

@BobbySD345 ooh thanks for the hint, might need to check out!
@Xyzzzzz and @64632K I totally agree the bump touching and comments are not cool!!

NaomiSophia · 08/06/2019 09:47

Hey, I’ve just found out I’m 4-5 weeks pregnant and super nervous/excited! I haven’t had any scans or anything yet, only a GP appointment and midwife referral. I was wondering if anyone has changed the original hospital that they requested to be referred to? I’ve just noticed that the hospital I selected doesn’t have a birthing pool Confused.

Congratulations to everyone also Smilexx

Kathryn19 · 08/06/2019 10:23

@NaomiSophia congratulations! I haven't, although I am considering it as my hospital has very few birth centre rooms that are in high demand. You can change until quite late on I believe. Worth weighing up when to do so if it involves you changing which midwives cover you, as you could have to travel much further for all your appointments.. That's why I haven't actually changed as of yet (29 weeks).

Babylentil · 21/06/2019 21:40

Hello everyone!! I hope the thread hasn't died in the time I've been gone! I hope everyone's pregnancies are going amazingly Grin for those who remember me (OP) I'm now almost 23 weeks pregnant and found out I'm having a son

OP posts:
Kathryn19 · 21/06/2019 22:33

@babylentil good to hear from you again OP.. what a fantastic update! That's a really lovely name, and knowing the baby's sex makes it all even more real doesn't it! Congrats on being more than halfway there now.
We saw our baby very briefly again at a growth scan yesterday and she was doing a okay! Measuring slightly above average, I just have a deceptive bump. 31 weeks today Smile

Daffodil2491 · 22/06/2019 20:24

Hi @Babylentil and @Kathryn19 was thinking we’d all been awfully quiet! How are you both? Congrats on your news @Babylentil, little bean also growing perfectly here but we don’t know what we’re having, I’m 23 weeks today and also feeling huge! And definitely waddling too Lol. Glad you had good news at your scan @Kathryn19. I had a physio session this week and am being referred for an aquanatal hydrotherapy class because my pelvis has been giving me grief but other than that all good and lots of wriggling! Love the feeling! Take care all x

Kathryn19 · 22/06/2019 22:52

Awww yay hello @Daffodil4291!
Glad you are getting some help for your pains and baby is doing well.
Mine is moving like crazy. It looks like something from alien!
Finally started getting some things sorted for baby... have a moses basket in our flat in case we don't move before she comes! Getting so real and exciting.
Wish work would slow down a bit, especially as I have so many more appointments than I expected. Having a 24 ECG soon and seeing the consultant as well as the midwife now.

Daffodil2491 · 23/06/2019 16:38

Hey @Kathryn19 how are you? Not sure if I’m looking forwards to the alien stage or not lol! My partner took me to see Prometheus once and I wasn’t prepared! If you haven’t watched it don’t! Cant wait to see if I can see feet etc though! Nice to have the reassurance of lots of moving, have you got a pattern yet? We’ve got some stuff, went to a car boot sale and did really well was so lucky, found the bouncer I wanted almost brand new for £20 they are £80 new! Was so happy lol. How is the move going? We haven’t moved out yet, lol been living with my parents while renovating for 2 1/2 years! Hoping to finally move over the summer holidays. Hope your ecg goes well, why are they doing that? Hope work is being kind, I’m not looking forwards to working September I teach so will be going back after 6 weeks off to teach for a month at 33 weeks and my class is going to be bigger with more kids! Ah! At least it’s only 4 weeks and I’ve got the 6 weeks to get everything ready lol! X

Kathryn19 · 23/06/2019 20:32

SORRY I realise now that I've written an essay!
@Daffodil2491 yes I have seen it! Baby does sometimes remind me of those films.. but much more enjoyable I promise!
She has a bit of a pattern in that she definitely moves a little in the morning, and she moves LOADS when I go to bed.. other than that as she is such a crazy active baby, I just know that I should feel her if I'm sitting still for a while. Only had 2 days where she stressed me a bit but very lucky otherwise.
That's great on the bouncer! Which one is it? Any other good purchases recently?
Our purchase isn't going fantastic if I'm honest, but have some hope we can sort it soon as we know better what the issues have been now.
Wow that's a big renovation project! How's it going? Did you buy a total doer upper? Will be amazing once it is done I'm sure, and you'll be there with your new baby

Daffodil2491 · 24/06/2019 07:44

@Kathryn19 an essay? 😊 have you seen some of the ones I’ve written! 😅 lol!
The bouncer is called tiny love 3 in 1 rocker napper it goes flat with sides that come up, we have dogs so like the fact that if baby’s sleeping they can’t moither etc. Other good purchases, found a dream genii pregnancy and breastfeeding pillow in Mothercare reduced to £35 it’s been a godsend! Hope you get your buying done soon!
Yes one hell of a renovation lol! Complete do up we’ve literally done everything, roof, new ceilings, re plastered, wired plumbed decorated! The whole lot lol almost there now thankfully just in time 😂.
Hope all goes well with your ECG that’s not great that it should already have been done!
Teaching is ok but getting harder as I get bigger lol, got little ones so down on the floor isn’t easy lol, but will get there.
It’s my birthday today, last one pre baby 🥰 28 now lol. Boo hiss got to go to work and got a meeting after, never mind lol.
When are you supposed to be moving? X x

Hope everyone and their bumps are well and growing and wriggling x x x

Kathryn19 · 25/06/2019 08:57

@Daffodil2491 those sound like some great finds!! I've started stocking up on a couple of things each time I'm near a big boots. On the most other things I'm waiting to see if a couple of friends who have insisted they want to give gifts get them, and if not I'll just order last minute!
Happy belated birthday! I hope you had a lovely day, work and meeting aside. Crazy that next birthday you'll have a tiny human!!!
Amazing on the renovations, I'm in awe. And with the little children too if I'm honest haha.
We don't have a date yet sadly but there has been a lot of progress in the last week which has got us a lot closer to exchanging so hopefully things will fast forward from here!
Is your new place near to your parents? They must be excited for the little arrival!

Daffodil2491 · 26/06/2019 21:21

@Kathryn19 yes crazy that next birthday baby will be 8 months! Hope your exchange goes through soon! It can be such an awful process! We had heaps of trouble buying ours and that was with no chain!
Thanks lol, we’ve enjoyed the renovations just a time issue with work and the odd hiccup with logistics etc, so happy it’s nearly done but miffed the midwife said I shouldn’t do any more painting it’s the only job I’m better at than him! Lol! Yes it’s near my parents, about 10 mins walk, and a 25 min drive from his parents too, they’re all excited! It’s lovely! Hope you get your gifts from your friends! X
