Hello everyone 😊 another busy day! Will have to catch up tomorrow I’m shattered after a busy day at the baby show in the NEC. @CaptainSparklez it was great and totally worth it! You will have an amazing time. Came home with lots of goodies, great deals and ideas too. X

lostlobster · 18/05/2019 23:45

Hi welcome to all the newbies and congratulations!

@CaptainSparklez We’ve gone for grey walls with blue decor. It’s going to look gorgeous!. Thank you, I love the name Joshua and Josh is growing on me a bit more. I’m so excited!.

Here’s a pic of my bump, as you can see am very tiny for 28 weeks. I can still hide my bump under loose tops.

64632K · 19/05/2019 09:47

Welcome and congratulations to all the newbies to the thread. Glad you found yourself a supportive space.

@lostlobster nice bump, at 28 weeks thats quite impressive.

DH and I were speaking about nursery decor and oddly we actually agree with each other. We agreed on off white walls with a jungle/animal theme for the walls. I want a uv paint ceiling for a night time starry effect, he doesnt like the cost but agrees would look amazing

lostlobster · 19/05/2019 11:12

@64632K Thank you, I have some 28 wheeler friends and compared to them I’m tiny!. Your nursery sounds lovely

64632K · 19/05/2019 13:29

We come in all different shapes and sizes so makes sense our bumps do too.

We love the idea of a neutral nursery so going with that plan

lostlobster · 19/05/2019 13:31

You’re right!.

We’ve gone for the grey theme because as he grows we can just change the decor but no big things need to be done. I keep looking at the nursery and thinking one day it’ll be a teenagers room!.

Kathryn19 · 19/05/2019 14:11

We are also going to go very neutral so we can easily redecorate over time Smile really like the stickers you can get for walls

Kathryn19 · 19/05/2019 20:07

@64632K absolutely love that!!

64632K · 19/05/2019 21:00

@Kathryn19 they are awesome. I love decals. I already have one in my bedroom, so easy to apply and changes the whole room. There are a couple of others but MN app wouldn't let me post the pics. This is the night sky kit I want on the ceiling, completely invisible by day but at night its amazing glowtec.co.uk/starry-ceiling-kits/

Leannej1986 · 19/05/2019 21:18

Thankyou ladies....Just hanging onto the hope I start to feel better by week 12/14 🤞

Kathryn19 · 19/05/2019 21:57

@64632K so good to hear good experiences. One friend had some flowers on the wall which were gorgeous but never seen any others. Love the idea of the night sky too!

@Leannej1986 fingers crossed for you! I started feeling gradually less sick from about 13 weeks. From 13 to 15 had good and bad days until felt almost completely better and went back to normal eating habits.

CaptainSparklez · 20/05/2019 10:23

@Daffodil2491 we ended up with quite a few bits as well. DH was chuffed he got handed a new freebie bag every time we went past the stall, so we now have loads of sample packs of nappies and wipes. Despite saying that we were going to hold off on big purchases until nearer the time we fell in love with one of the Roma travel systems and ended up buying that as they gave us such a great deal. I completely get what you mean about being shattered afterwards, I was in bed at 8:30 yesterday evening.

@lostlobster and @64632K your nursery themes sound gorgeous and that starry sky paint looks amazing! I think we’re probably going to go for quite a neutral theme too with some accessories to add a bit of colour (can’t decide what colour though), which is pretty much what we’ve done around the rest of the house.

Daffodil2491 · 21/05/2019 21:54

@CaptainSparklez glad you had a good time and got good deals, it’s good you got a good deal on a Pram you fell in love with, we looked and I love the uppababy vista but the price they gave me was the same as the price locally and would rather wait a bit and support local business when we can.

Hope everyone is ok and bumps are growing well. I’m feeling really down today 😔 had such a wonderful weekend but think I’m tired and had a bit of a tiff with my other half, nothing major just me being hormonal I think but I don’t like upsetting people and I feel down about it even though he’s forgiven me for being silly. Cue ridiculous uncontrollable tears lol sorry for being miserable love to all x

Kathryn19 · 21/05/2019 22:05

Oh no @Daffodil2491, sending big virtual hugs!! You're most definitely allowed to feel hormonal right now. Hope you're feeling better soon.. it is so challenging when you have to decide between using and enjoying your free time while you can, vs using weekends to rest and recuperate!

I have been feeling pretty shattered and useful, but cheered myself up with a couple of nice maternity dresses for the summer Smile

Daffodil2491 · 21/05/2019 22:10

@Kathryn19 thanks hun, I know I’m being silly and it will pass but not much fun at the mo lol, never mind, hopefully I will sleep ok and it will sort me out lol as long as I’m not up all night peeing 😅

Where did you get your dresses from? Sounds like a good plan! Especially if it’s going to be as hot as last summer (she says while sincerely praying that it isn’t!)

Kathryn19 · 21/05/2019 22:19

@Daffodil2491 fingers crossed for you! Hoping for the same... got up 3 times before 2am to pee last night plus baby kept me up kicking!

I got a couple of dresses rrom asos before, including a black dungaree dress I love with plain tops under. The latest ones are actually from boohoo of all places! They have a good fit - was struggling to find things that showed off what remains of my figure rather than making me look big all over. Has been an adjustment going from my usual waist hugging clothes to empire waistlines though...!

sal1987 · 22/05/2019 07:36

@Daffodil2491 I completely get your emotional state and I'm exactly the same. My DP has to pick up extra shifts as manager but that means for the past 10 days I have hardly seen him and my emotions are through the roof. If I'm not annoyed I'm crying about it and just so tired of working full time and then having to come home and do everything around the house. Thank goodness for half term next week.

I have bought some really lovely dresses from boohoo, they are so comfortable. However they really show my bump off and have had people commenting on how big I have got. I now have major bump anxiety. Why do people feel the need to comment when they hardly know you? Sorry for the long Wednesday morning rant, I need sleep 😴😴😴

Kathryn19 · 22/05/2019 07:55

@sal1987 oh I know, people have zero tact. I've spent most of my pregnancy being told I don't look pregnant. Then when I wear anything bump enhancing I'm told I look lile it had grown... well duh, I look more pregnant in something very tight Hmm but apparently still don't look "properly pregnant" or whatever. Guess we just have to ignore them!!! People trying to think of things to say I guess.

MyHomey · 22/05/2019 09:11

@Daffodil2491 oh no :( I felt like this a couple of days ago, had a lovely little holiday break with my DH last week, but then he's had to go away with work from Mon-late Thurs and I felt a bit sad on Monday eve (all due to hormones and tiredness!) I think the sunshine is helping lift spirits now though! I hope you're feeling better! X

CaptainSparklez · 22/05/2019 09:19

Morning all, hope everyone is feeling okay. Something has definitely changed, I think the jellybean has shifted positions. I needed to pee loads yesterday and my back hurts so much. I've managed to grab a foot rest for under my desk at work which is helping a little bit with my back, but I just feel a bit miserable today.

Has anyone else been suffering and what did you do to relieve it ??

Awww, sending hugs @Daffodil2491 hope you're feeling better today!

@sal1987 I've ordered some gorgeous stuff from boohoo too. I love their stuff, it fits so well and I've got free next day delivery which is perfect for last minute splurges Grin

CaramelCluster · 22/05/2019 11:34

Hey ladies, I been away from this chat for a while, been having quite a few Fibroid issues that have been giving me a lot of pain.

Big hugs to you @Daffodil2491, you have every right to be hormonal and of course let it out! that's what our partners are there for they understand.

I second the boohoo maternity wear @sal1987 very comfortable. Some people will always comment but try not to listen to them. I bet you have a beautiful bump ☺️

We also recently found out we're having a baby girl 💗 I was honestly shocked at first, felt I was having a boy and a lot of boys in my family, but my mum & dad's first granddaughter (they already have a GS from my brother)

Has anyone else found out the sex recently?

Daffodil2491 · 22/05/2019 18:49

Thanks everyone! Feeling better today but your comments made all the difference, makes a huge difference to know it’s not just you, particularly when the hormones are going nuts lol.

Thanks @Kathryn19, hope you got your sleep, I did manage last night but it’s always hit and miss lol. Good tips about the clothes too!

Thanks @sal1987, sending hugs your way too, totally get how you feel, was almost the exact same situation that upset me, he’s been sooo busy and I’ve not seen him before quite late some nights and then he was talking about a new contract he might get (which would be amazing) but it may come around that he’s doing it when I’m due, he’s self employed so has to take work when it comes and me being me was panicking about him not being able to be around after baby was born. Hormones took over lol. Also can’t wait for half term! And don’t take a blind bit of notice of all the tactless idiots who feel that just because you’re pregnant they have a right to comment you’re growing a human and are beautiful anyway! Hope you get some sleep too think we’re all a bit short of that lol.

Thanks @MyHomey! Hope you feel better too, enjoy the sun get that vitamin d lol. Hope you had a lovely time away!

@CaptainSparkelz thanks! Feeling better now I’ve stopped panicking unnecessarily lol. No useful advice I’m afraid maybe do some pregnancy yoga? I do regular physio exercises because I’ve got hypermobile (bendy) joints seems to be keeping me ok at the moment but am going to ask the physio for pregnancy relevant exercises as there are some I do which are going to be unsustainable soon due to size lol. I like heat packs too but you have to be careful they aren’t too hot or directly on bump.

@CaramelCluster nice to see you again, hope your pain is being managed and you feel better! Sending hugs, congratulations on your lovely news! Lovely little girl on her way 😊. We aren’t finding out as I want a surprise but I can’t wait to know and literally have no idea! Family and friends sweepstakes guesses are pretty much 50/50 lol

thanks for your messages, you’re all amazing! Never expected such support and kindness from strangers it’s a massive help to feel we’re all in the same boat even though I wish us all a straightforward journey! X

Daffodil2491 · 22/05/2019 18:51

Sorry for the essay lol, your words were so kind I had to reply properly! 😅

Kathryn19 · 23/05/2019 19:27

Hope everyone is having a good week and enjoying some sunshine!

I feel I could easily go on another vent but want to feel some positivity today! So slme happy updates from me:

  • I got loads of complements on 2 new maternity dresses this week
  • some extended family have kindly given us tonnes of second hand baby clothes
  • husband has discovered he can hear baby's heartbeat. This is also very funny for me when she gets annoyed with the personal space invasion and kicks him in the face
  • I'm almost at the third trimester with a healthy baby, and how can I not be happy and grateful for that!

Hurray for it almost being the weekend, and happy vibes to you all Flowers
