I fell out with one of my friends cause I’ve not been all gushy about pregnancy. I said I didn’t enjoy it and she was all judgy so we’ve not spoken really, it’s all bit sad but I have more important things to concentrate on.

I don’t like stereotypical colours like blue and pink. I’d rather have more pastel shades like yellow and green for girls.

64632K · 26/05/2019 11:23

Pastel colours all the way. My mum has bought a whole load of creams, beiges and pale yellows from mothercare and I habe also just bought a whole load from Zulilly

Xyzzzzz · 26/05/2019 11:54

My mum keeps buying white bless her when she finds it bless her. She got a lovely outfit from H&M the other day. They do nice baby clothes too and have more colours

lavtriesagain · 26/05/2019 18:35

Hi can I join, I’m due a month today with a little boy

Xyzzzzz · 26/05/2019 18:52

Aww congrats! How does it feel to be towards the end?

lavtriesagain · 26/05/2019 19:08

It’s dragging! And quite scary, because I actually have to give birth soon. But I’m so excited! @Xyzzzzz

64632K · 26/05/2019 19:14

Lavtriesagain welcome and congratulations

LAH74 · 26/05/2019 22:23

Hello! Can I join? I'm about 11 weeks pregnant and feel like I have been waiting forever to tell anyone/for the dating scan! Strange thing is I was so excited at the beginning and I still am but now I find it really odd to actually say 'I'm pregnant', I think because it doesn't really feel real yet but also because I'm dreading all the attention! I'm the first one in both my family and my husband's to have a baby and also the first in my close friendship group so maybe that has something to do with it as well. I would love to chat to people also pregnant for the first time!

Kathryn19 · 26/05/2019 23:25

Hello @lavtriesagain, so exciting!!!
@LAH74 you sound just like me haha. I put off telling people for sooo long. Managed to avoid with some until more than 20 weeks because just found it so awkward to announce!

Xyzzzzz · 27/05/2019 10:22

At work they wanted to send an email announcement but I declined that! I said I’ll tell people myself in my own time.

stormtrooperjulian · 27/05/2019 10:47

Hi all, can I join? I’m at 23 weeks.

@LAH24 I was surprised by how difficult I found it (and am still finding it) to say the words ‘I’m pregnant’! I’m planning on telling my team at work and hr tomorrow and I’m really nervous about it.

@Xyzzzzz an email announcement sounds awful to me, if I could keep it totally private at work then I would! I’ve been away for 3 weeks and I’m noticeably showing now so I guess I can’t hide it any more but I have no idea how to bring it up to my team or whether I should just wear a tight top and wait for comments.

64632K · 27/05/2019 10:57

LAH24 and stormtrooperjulian congratulations and welcome.

@Xyzzzzz thats awful. I had to tell me manager at 8 weeks because of the number of appts I had because of the GD, he was pretty cool and let me tell everyone in my own time, which came at 16 weeks and only because I had no choice as my bump had a growth spurt.

Xyzzzzz · 27/05/2019 11:09

I mean I told people quite early anyway but wanted to tell people on my terms.

Kathryn19 · 27/05/2019 16:55

I told my manager at about 15 weeks.. then my friends at 19 and it started spreading. Managed to avoid actually telling too many people, and now everyone just takes it as a given without me having to have said anything which works haha. Although think a lot of them aren't realising quite how far along I am therefore...

Xyzzzzz · 27/05/2019 18:21

Lol. I told my manager at 6 weeks simply because I had sickness and didn’t drink when we went out the weekend before lol

Kathryn19 · 27/05/2019 18:24

@Xyzzzzz I coincided with dry January so it wasn't too tricky to not drink.. but I don't do much socially with my manager anyway so it was fine.
Sickness however... she was super relieved to find out I was pregnant, because she was going to bring up how unwell I had been and whether I needed anything!!!

Xyzzzzz · 27/05/2019 18:34

Aw that’s nice @kathryn19. I was literally before my Xmas party and I’d already paid. On the plus side he didn’t suspect and said I’m a good liar which concerned him more

Ciarss · 27/05/2019 22:11

Hi everyone!

So ive just found out that I'm pregnant and still not sure how far gone I am! I have an appointment on Thursday to find out! Only myself and my partner know at the moment but I’m only 20 years old and extremely nervous about how to tell my parents as i’m worried that they will be disappointed in me.

Any advise on how to tell them, what to say ect??

Thank you in advance xxx

Kathryn19 · 28/05/2019 08:51

@Xyzzzzz that's quite a reaction haha!

@Ciarss I'm sorry you're feeling so worried! If I'm honest I found it really hard to tell my parents, even though I'm 26 (25 when told them), married and working!

Is there one you feel more comfortable telling? As long as you don't expect too negative a reaction, I would get it out the way as quickly as possible before you spend too much time worrying about it. We actually just told my mum she might want to sit down and she guessed! Then she told my dad for us... best of luck for your appointment and everything else xx

Xyzzzzz · 28/05/2019 09:01

I’m in my early 30’s and I still found it hard to tell them lol. I just told my mum and she informed my dad. I hope it all goes well

Inthesky42 · 28/05/2019 10:53

@LAH74 I'm 11 weeks too and feeling exactly the same! Scan feels so close and yet so far! Got a sneaky (6 months pregnant) colleague who I think suspects something.. She keeps asking me loads of questions about what I did at the weekend, did I have lots of wine blah blah I think she knows I'm lying through my teeth!

64632K · 28/05/2019 15:39

I found it difficult to tell my dad despite being 37 and married. I dont have to worry about the drink question thankfully as I dont drink

Kathryn19 · 29/05/2019 18:37

Good to hear I wasn't the only one stressing! How is everyone doing this week?

Daffodil2491 · 30/05/2019 22:41

Hi everyone, and hello to everyone I haven’t spoken to yet nice to see you all here!
How is everyone? I had a bit of a blip emotionally last week but feel much better this week, long may it continue lol. I’m 20 weeks tomorrow and can’t believe I’m halfway already! Lots of wriggles and a growing bump lol. Got my 20 week scan on Monday.
@Kathryn19 how’s things hun? Hope you’re not still in pain!
@Ciarss hi honey, sending hugs, be kind to yourself, I’m 27 nearly 28 and was worried about telling my parents too. Hope they are supportive, I couldn’t say it out loud lol so I got them gifts that said only the best mum/dad get promoted to nan/grandpa didn’t take more than a couple of seconds to sink in lol, fortunately they were thrilled. Hope your appointment was ok. Take care x

Kathryn19 · 31/05/2019 08:33

@Daffodil2491 hello again! That sounds like such a cute way to tell your parents
