Hi ladies! I'm 13 and a half weeks with my first baby - due 25th November. The first trimester seems to have gone so slowly, thankfully my sickness has gone now and I'm just left with tiredness, obsession with cleaning and occasional dizziness lol. How is everyone enjoying this hot weather? I'm not looking forward to being heavily pregnant in summer judging by how tiring it is already!

Kathryn19 · 23/05/2019 21:29

Welcome and congratulations @firsttimemum30! Woohoo for making it through the first trimester. Exciting times ahead Smile

firsttimemum30 · 23/05/2019 21:34

Thanks Kathryn! haha I'm finding everything exciting atm cos it's all so new to me :) Glad to be able to eat properly and enjoy my food again too. But I must say my bump is huge already!

Kathryn19 · 23/05/2019 21:44

@firsttimemum30 ah I'm sure you'll look back and think you were crazy for saying that! Sure I will feel the same - I feel huge but baby has so much more to grow! Yes to it being exciting though Grin

firsttimemum30 · 23/05/2019 22:05

@Kathryn19 haha so true! at 20+ weeks I'm sure I'll look back and think - nope - NOW I'm huge! :D

Saydz92 · 23/05/2019 22:06

Hi I'm 21 weeks exactly tomorrow and found out last week I'm having a girl !!

Realisation is starting to set in I'm actually having a baby and really excited but beyond nervous !!

Kathryn19 · 23/05/2019 22:12

Hello @Saydz92 congrats on your little girl!

Haha @firsttimemum30 yes exactly! And again when we reach 30, 35, 40 aaah!!

Kathryn19 · 23/05/2019 22:28

Also @Saydz92 I just saw your thread and noticed we are the same age 😊 haven't met lots of people my age - certainly none of my friends are having babies yet! I'm just 6 weeks ahead of you with a girl. Whereabouts are you based?

Saydz92 · 24/05/2019 12:12

@Kathryn19 I'm 27 in July and will be 27 weeks gone by then haha!
I'm near skipton in between Lancashire and Yorkshire.
I'm a florist and Definately starting to find certain tasks I do at work taking longer than usual ! You don't realise what movements you take for granted as such!
How you finding sleeping? I've been struggling the last couple of weeks. Can't seem to get comfy at all and either side I lay on feels like I'm squashing my stomach and when I lay on my back it feels like I'm doing sit ups when I get up so struggling with that.

How are you getting on so far?

Kathryn19 · 24/05/2019 12:26

@Saydz92 wow what an interesting job! But can imagine it would be very tiring.. how long are you intending to work up until?
I work in the City of London, desk based. So the worst part of my job is just my train commute to be honest! But I come in late to avoid the masses and it isn't too long (approx 20 mins train and 20 mins walking).
I am also finding sleep a nightmare. Never used to be a back sleeper but now craving it. Started putting a pillow behind me I can lean on. Woke up at 5 today and just could not get back to sleep!
Other than that.. exercise is getting harder and I've been tired, particularly due to low blood pressure, but the second trimester was a lot nicer than the first - grateful to lose the constant nausea!!!

Saydz92 · 24/05/2019 12:52

@Kathryn19 wow couldn't be any further away in distance ! Haha !
Yeh I'm also same about getting over the first trimester, it was rubbish constantly feeling hungry and tired and just lost my appetite for everything !

Kathryn19 · 24/05/2019 13:43

@Saydz92 haha yes! I haven't found many londoners on here. Glad you are feeling better, it is a rough time especially when you haven't even told people why

MyHomey · 24/05/2019 13:51

@Kathryn19 I'm a fellow London worker/commuter! An hour each way on the train.. definitely becoming more uncomfortable!

Kathryn19 · 24/05/2019 13:59

@MyHomey oh no that doesn't sound fun! People are crap on the trains also.. just had to walk through so many carriages to get a seat because people didn't want to move their suitcases! Glad i avoid the tube as I have been quite fainty. I hope for us all that summer isn't too hot....

MyHomey · 24/05/2019 14:15

@Kathryn19 if it's busy, I'll go and sit in First Class, apparently we're allowed to do this from 20 weeks if there's no seats. Even if there are some seats but it's pretty crowded, I'll tend to go in there! I can't imagine anyone want to risk the wrath of a pregnant woman by telling me to move!

lostlobster · 24/05/2019 21:33

Is anyone else getting a bit bored now? I know I still have 11 weeks to go, but I just want him here now!. This is dragging

Kathryn19 · 24/05/2019 21:49

@MyHomey oh that's good, what train company are you? I know some allow it but I checked thameslink and southern and they don't mention.

@lostlobster I'm mostly concerned about getting bigger and bigger! Definitely need the 13 weeks as we have bought next to nothing (including needing to close our house purchase and get a car bigger than an aygo!) But I do totally get what you mean!

Xyzzzzz · 24/05/2019 21:51

Just been told I have gestational diabetes. Does anyone else have this or just me 😳

lostlobster · 24/05/2019 22:10

Kathryn19 we have got practically everything sorted, we’re just waiting on little man. These last few weeks are going on almost as long as the first 12 did

Kathryn19 · 24/05/2019 22:14

@Xyzzzzz I don't but quite a few in my August group do. My paeds doctor friend said it is very common - I hope they give you some useful advice on it and I'm sure it'll all be okay!
@lostlobster good to hear you are so organised! Not too long to wait now Smile

64632K · 24/05/2019 22:26

@Xyzzzzz I do, had it very early on in pregnancy. They put me on metformin which I was super sick on so they put me on insulin. What readings are you getting?

MyHomey · 25/05/2019 06:59

@Kathryn19 I'm southwest, I've just looked it up for Southern/Thameslink and you can apply for a Priority Card that you can show people in a priority seat to say you're pregnant and ask them to move (but tbh, your bump would do the same job!) - link here though in case you wanted one: www.thameslinkrailway.com/travel-information/travel-help/priority-seat-card. Do you also have the Baby on Board badge?

I do sometimes travel on Southern, and I think if it was busy, I'd still sit in first class and say that it was cramped/hot in the main coaches (which it quite often is) and it was making me feel unwell. I'd be so surprised if they would move you if it was quiet in 1st class anyway.

cocodash · 25/05/2019 07:07

Hello ladies, bit late to the party but wondering if I could join?

I'm a Glasgow girl 34+4 with baby number one. So the end is in sight for me....

Kathryn19 · 25/05/2019 07:36

@MyHomey I think you are right to be honest! I do have a badge, my friend ordered it for me after faint episode number 1. When I wear tight clothes sometimes the badge works... but often people don't look or notice and need to ask. I just need to get over my anxiety about it!

@cocodash congratulations! That's so exciting, how are you feeling?

64632K · 25/05/2019 08:40

@Kathryn19 I have to commute regularly to Kings Cross, so first great western and underground. I am visibly pregnant and have a baby on board badge but found it difficult to get a seat sometimes, its almost like people see you and bury their heads in their phones.
