We used a moses basket 1st time around from birth to about 5 months, then into his own room.
Ds was a March baby, we had some fleece sleep suits. He didn't wear an actual outfit for at least 4 months - sleepsuits at all times.
If you intend to bf a gliding chair is amazing after the first few months, before that learning to feed laid down was a complete and utter lifesaver!
We have a venicci travel system, I'm selling it as too bulky, replacing with a 2nd hand baby jogger Citi mini as know it will last longer.

Sunshineface123 · 20/04/2019 21:43

Preggosaurus9 same here! I was pregnant over winter last time so just hid under massive jumpers but this time as be preg over summer wanted to look a bit more glam! Will check out eBay too. Desperately going to need some work wear pretty soon.

Sunshineface123 · 20/04/2019 21:47

JoJoSaysHello I'd definitely recommend a sleepyhead, our little girl slept in it for ages. A little bouncy chair was really useful and a perfect prep machine if you plan to bottle feed at all. Don't buy any clothes other than vests as you'll get given loads. I'd say a nappy bin is a waste of money too as we put the nappies straight outside...I'll have a think if I can remember anything else!

JenMumma · 20/04/2019 21:48

Hello everyone. I'd really like to join !!! Due 1/11, 2nd baby (12 year age gap AGHHHH!!!!) xx hope everyone's feeling as good as they can be 🙂🙂. I'm eating my body weight in anything I can find and have hurrendous headaches it's all so glam 😂 xx

LexieLoos · 20/04/2019 21:58

Is anyone getting bigger yet?
Don’t get me wrong, I don’t think I’ve ever had a flat stomach but I swear the shape is different - sometimes it seems to be all at the front and quite firm.

eBay is a great idea - I’ll be having a browse too!

Mintypea5 · 20/04/2019 22:05

@JenMumma welcome and congratulations! I'm on the junk food train :.. need to kick my ass into gear and quit it tho ... headaches here also. It's been horrific! I can't take any of my medication

Sunshineface123 · 20/04/2019 22:06

lexie is definitely feel like I'm getting bigger, I don't know if I'm just really bloated all the time tho?! As it's second time round for me I'm guessing will show quicker as I know I didn't until about 15 weeks last time, feel about that already!

JoJoSaysHello · 20/04/2019 22:33

Thank you all for these recommendations & advice!! The more the better Smile

JenMumma · 20/04/2019 22:54

@Mintypea5 awww thank you. Ha ha I fed your pain, I'm such a piggy I'm just cake mad at the moment, it's insane. Upped the water intake but they're still not letting up :-( will have to take paracetamol soon, they're getting too much ! I may be being abit over sensitive because I'm not used to having headaches EVER :-/. Will make a huge fruit salad tomorrow to pick at but to be honest, I think chocolate's gonna win 🙄🤷🏼‍♀️🙂

Unsureursula · 21/04/2019 07:31

Hello all!! Great to see there is a new post- I’m not on FB so was starting to feel a little lonely in the Nov club!

Thanks so much!

BobbySD345 · 21/04/2019 07:36

Hi all, can I ask for opinions on me going away on a city break to Krakow for 3 nights please. We booked this ages ago. I will be just 12 weeks and have had 2 MC's before so I am worrying (although also trying to be positive!) Would you still go ? I have changed our hotel so it is right close to a market square for sneaky napping ... !

PS. I am coming up to 10 weeks, my stomach is rock hard and very round (presumably just bloating) but it is becoming very hard to hide at work in suit skirts and dresses !

Mintypea5 · 21/04/2019 07:43

@BobbySD345 could you book an early reassurance scan to put you at ease to enjoy your holiday? Do you have your 12 week scan date yet?? Just in case it's when you're on holiday.

@Unsureursula congratulations!

Unsureursula · 21/04/2019 07:45

Hello @BobbySD345
Congratulations and Krakow sounds fab! I understand you must be worried but I think taking breaks and listening to your body will really help. It would be a shame not to go..
I’m off to the US in a couple of weeks with DP, should be almost 14 was by then. I’m nervous too but trip was pre-planned and we’re so looking forward to it and I’m trying to focus on us as a couple too.
HTH.

TheGruffalosLoveChild · 21/04/2019 09:06

DottyDally - I have small boobs and managed to breastfeed one baby until 9 months and another until 13 months. Thinking about it, the girls in my NCT class who breastfed the longest were the ones with the small boobs! The only thing I struggled with (beyond the first few weeks when you’re trying to work out how the hell breastfeeding works Grin) was breastfeeding lying down. So please don’t worry that having small boobs will hold you back Smile.

We didn’t get a Moses basket and I’m glad we didn't as most people we know only used them for a few weeks. We got a Snuzpod which I absolutely loved!

I would definitely go on holiday. Just work out where the nearest hospital is in case there is a problem. Also make sure you have good travel insurance in case you need to pay any medical expenses. I would definitely go though. Pregnancy is such a long time and it’s much harder to travel late on in pregnancy, plus it’s hard to travel with young kids, so do as much as you can now and try to relax and enjoy it!

Mintypea5 · 21/04/2019 09:41

@dottydally I have big boobs and breastfeeding is soooooo hard for me. I have supply issues anyway but there was only one position my DS's could feed in. The under arm rugby ball one. Couldn't feed lying down so I'd spend each night uncomfortable trying to hold baby in the position. Nearly everyone I know who has small boobs had found breast feeding really easy

Leleophants · 21/04/2019 10:14

This is brilliant, thank you. We will also be in an old, cold house!

Knickersononeshead · 21/04/2019 10:21

Ds was born halloween and he lived in sleepsuits and knitted cardigans for months 😂

L0ULEW · 21/04/2019 10:44

@BobbySD345 deffo go on holiday. A nice relaxing time will be good for you and baby and will speed time up. Just take it at you own pace. Since being pregnant I've been on 6 flights mainly for work but also did a 3 day break in Barca. It was super knackering but well worth it for the memories. You may find the flight you feel utterly crap I don't suffer with sickness usually but my nausea was thick and fast the whole way haha. Have a lovely time

AcatcalledGary · 21/04/2019 10:49

@BobbySD345 definitely still go. I’m in Italy at the moment and although I was anxious for the first few days I am now starting to relax. My nearest hospital is over an hours drive away too and we are staying in the middle of the countryside :-/

I also have a 3 week trip to Canada and Ireland booked for August when I’ll be 26-28.5 weeks which I am nervous about but at least they are English speaking countries and I would regret not going when we’ve already spent a fortune too. The only thing I’m worried about is travel insurance for the baby if born mega early, need to research that :-/

Preggosaurus9 · 21/04/2019 13:59

@BobbySD345 defo go, sounds lovely. Just sort insurance before you go and make sure pregnancy is covered for peace of mind.

Wow @AcatcalledGary amazing. We are off to the Lakes soon and I think it will be a case of feeling poorly with some nice scenery to look at. By 21 weeks you should be feeling quite energetic haha.

thumper59 · 21/04/2019 16:36

I'm 12 weeks tomorrow and think I'm getting a bump. It looks round for me looking down, and is noticeable from the sides, but to a stranger could just look like I've ate a few to many cakes! Always had a small waist ( carry heavier in my bum and legs!) so maybe that's why I've noticed so early!

Mintypea5 · 21/04/2019 16:44

I'm exhausted! Busy Sunday lunch at MIL trying to avoid being jumped on by too many nieces and nephews. Usually I'm right in the scrum. Sil made a comment that would have been perfect for us to casual drop in after that we're expecting again but we're waiting for the scan.

What's everyone eating?! I'm struggling being off chicken, beef and eggs! Need some meal ideas

LexieLoos · 21/04/2019 17:30

@BobbySD345 Still go - it’ll be a nice break and bit of a distraction for you.

LexieLoos · 21/04/2019 17:32

Oops! Posted too early!

Glad I’m not the only one looking like I’ve overdone the Easter eggs

@Mintypea5 I’ve been living on bland, beige foods - just about feeling like I’m coming out the other side though! It’s hard to try and eat healthily at this stage I’m finding

RainhamRosie · 21/04/2019 20:06

I'm exactly the same @LexieLoos currently have the diet of a 6 year old. Never expected chicken nuggets and chips to delight me as much as it currently does.

I have recently developed a craving for melon so I'm going to try and capitalise on this for a while...get some actual vitamins in me
