@Mintypea5 thank you that's a relief ! Yes the private one only did rump to crown too. When we were trying to picture the size she said don't forget to add a bit on for the legs ! Hehe. We have bought a 4 scan package with the clinic we went to and so we need to decide when would be best to use the remaining 3. Any tips? I'd like to use one in a few weeks for gender but then I'm not sure ? X

bearface45 · 16/05/2019 20:03

Glad all well at scan, I just got the risk ratings back off screening and more than happy with the figures - has taken 8 days. I actually felt better today and have eaten a proper meal - first time since I was 6 weeks so that has been amazing! Just need to pluck up the courage to tell my boss now x

Prequelle · 17/05/2019 09:58

3d scans are so freaky aren't they ha

Mintypea5 · 17/05/2019 10:46

@Prequelle I find them really creepy! I've promised my 7 yr old we can have a 3D Scan for my birthday so I'll be about 28 weeks because he's desperate to see the baby

Prequelle · 17/05/2019 13:31

My fiance thought the baby was missing a hand because of an artifact on the scan 😂

The 3d/4d ones look much better later on in the pregnancy, we have our boy looking all alien-like because we were eager to find out the sex ha

HeartvsHead · 18/05/2019 21:23

I'm always intrigued by the 3d scans but worried that my baby might look weird on it so waiting to see him/her in all their squishy cuteness! 🤣

I've 100% been feeling movement the last few days which is really exciting. The delay between the pregnancy symptoms ending and movement beginning seem a like an eternity but it is nice to have a reminder/reassurance that I am actually pregnant again (other than my rapidly expanding stomach!)

Marypop77 · 19/05/2019 08:30

Hi ladies, I put post on original thread, but just realised new thread. Im 41, will be 42 when have baby.
I am still in complete shock, known for 6 weeks and had my booking in appointment yesterday. This will be baby no 5 for me. We have 6 in total as I have a step son. Ive got terrible anxiety about the pregnancy as I have had labour complications with 3 of the 4 i have. Dreading telling mil and fil.

BobbySD345 · 19/05/2019 20:01

Anyone else very emotional? Just bawled my eyes out at dragons den and I watched a YouTube video earlier about a dog and was a mess !

Kaff83 · 19/05/2019 20:33

@bobbysd345 I cried at Steve Wright's Sunday love songs while I was driving in the car a couple of weeks ago. And I cried when I left my kids on a Sunday for a few hours. So yes, pretty emotional! Also very irritable!!

RainhamRosie · 20/05/2019 06:43

@Kaff83 @BobbySD345

Full on bawled my eyes out at Eurovision and then over cooked my poached eggs and got very cross. Husband keeps calling me ridiculously pregnant 😂

@Marypop77 welcome! I hope telling mil & fil goes well.

BananasAreTheSourceOfEvil · 20/05/2019 08:12

Was watching the Chase and the Chaser gave a compliment to one of the contestants- I cried.

@Kaff83 I am also swinging between the crying and irritability. Mostly its completely irrational stuff too. DP went to work last night and I was glad to see him go because his head was just annoying me for no good reason.

Finally had my first 'official' appointment on Friday. Baby very happy, refusing to lie on its side, and actually looks like a demon trying to claw its way out, seriously the face shot is something to behold, the consultant even commented on it Confused He looked at my EPU notes, and as there are several due dates on there, we discussed it and I explained which one they had felt was most accurate- he did the scan and I was measuring 13+6 (fitting with that date) he said 'you're right'.

Then I saw the midwife, who used the wheel thingy and decided my EDD was 3 days later. Calmly explained everything to her again, pointed out that the one note from EPU she was relying on actually had two dates on it different to her stupid wheel and she bloody acknowledged what the doctor had measured and written down then put my EDD a day out as a 'compromise'. I don't need a bloody compromise, I know the correct date it was literally written there and I was very much oresent at all the EPU appointments!!

Don't know if that counts as irrational pregnant lady levels of irritable, but my god I wanted to bite her I was so annoyed. It wont make a difference in the end- will have CS at 39 weeks but the chances of me making it to 39 weeks are slim. DP knows my controlled anger face and was trying not to laugh. Tit. Left there so pissed off, which is ridiculous, but I hate being told I'm wrong when I know I'm bloody right!

Pollypocket5 · 20/05/2019 10:37

Hey ladies

How are everyone's pregnancy symptoms? I saw baby very very active last Tuesday. The consultant was like this baby does not stop moving but the last week I've felt like myself again. It makes me feel very nervous! I'm 15 weeks tomorrow.

I'll also be having another scan on the 29th and I already can't wait just to know that baby is ok.

BobbySD345 · 20/05/2019 13:31

Giggling away at everyone's emotional outbursts be it crying or being irritable. I am definitely both !!

@Pollypocket5 my symptoms died down a bit last week but seem to be back with a vengeance after a busy week at work. Very tired and feeling quite queasy. I was told they come and go and not to worry but I know what you mean, I would have a scan every week for reassurance if I could.

This morning I was drying and waving my hair and had to stop 3 times because I felt so faint. Anyone else get this? I think I need to start washing my hair in the evenings when I'm not so rushed. Even the warm shower first thing makes me feel icky 🤢

Mintypea5 · 20/05/2019 14:13

@Pollypocket5 it's normal for symptoms to die down or go at this stage. The 2nd trimester is when everyone is meant to feel great (such a lie Grin) ... until you start feeling revalue movement which isn't usually until 18-20 weeks it's normal to just feel "normal"

Casander · 20/05/2019 15:10

I’m glad everyone else is crying too (well, glad I’m not the only one I mean😂) I’m also varying between crying and wanting to harm DP because even his breathing is irritating me🙈😂

HeartvsHead · 20/05/2019 17:06

Hormones do crazy things! Speaking of which I've been quite surprised by my sudden increase in sex drive! After 6 months of ttc I though I'd be glad of the break but seems my hormones have other ideas! With dc1 I had no interest at all for the whole 9 months (until the day she was due by which point you are willing to try anything!).

Anyone else or is this one just me?! To be fair pregnant me 3 years ago would have thought I was mad!

Leleophants · 20/05/2019 17:37

Definitely emotional hear. One day yay I'm excited let's.plan for the baby, next day I'm so miserable I'm sobbing and the baby doesn't even exist. Hmm

Also keep getting indigestion and waking up in the middle of the night REALLY HUNGRY!

LazyDaisy99 · 20/05/2019 22:44

Scan today and relieved to say all is well Smile they didn't change my EDD which was a surprise. Must now let myself get excited about having a baby. Second child for us and last time I was so nervous I didn't let myself enjoy it, think this will be our last so must allow myself to be happy!

Farmmum7 · 21/05/2019 14:28

The sickness is finally starting to ease off here 😁 it still creeps up a bit in the evening but being able to function like a normal person during the day is making all the difference.
I have had a few bouts of crying usually a random thought gets me when I'm driving alone and I end up getting all teary!! I've not had the awful mood swings I had with my first I was a nightmare then I seem to be really chilled at the moment I don't know if it's just down to being too tired to be grumpy but my DH said he'll happily keep me like this 😂

firsttimemum30 · 21/05/2019 23:46

Hi everyone - I hope it's ok to join, I'm 30, expecting my first baby on 25th November 2019 :) had my 12 week scan last week, all is fine so far. Sickness has gone but still needing to sleep almost all the time and my bump is apparently huge! lol. Good luck to you all :)

bearface45 · 22/05/2019 06:46

15 weeks tomorrow, sickness eased off in that it’s not 24/7 anymore but comes and goes, starting to eat slightly wider variety of food as aversion not as bad but still getting very tired. Still can’t stand up for long and have to lie down after a shower as feel awful. God I sound like an invalid

LexieLoos · 22/05/2019 08:25

Nice to hear the sickness is easing off for most.
16 week appointment this morning - does anyone know if they still listen to the heartbeat? Midwife said yes last time but I read somewhere they don’t any more.
Has anyone started buying yet?

PrayingandHoping · 22/05/2019 08:27

@LexieLoos I think it very much depends on your area and midwife. Some do some don't. I have mine tomorrow. I think they do around here so looking forward to it!

Zarara · 22/05/2019 08:32

LexieLoos I had my 16wk appointment yesterday and we listened to the heartbeat. The whole appointment was very quick though.

Mintypea5 · 22/05/2019 09:13

@LexieLoos my area don't but I think most still do. Hope it goes well! Mine is next week although I know it will just be all the normal bloods, wee sample etc

We're off on holiday this weekend! Yay it's been an incredibly shit week and a bit so I'm looking forward to trying to relax a bit for once.

Sure I've felt some more flutters over the last few days which has been nice.
