@pollypocket5 that is fabulous news (crying here, bloody hormones) just the best, you must be so happy xx

Pollypocket5 · 15/05/2019 15:12

@BananasAreTheSourceOfEvil Thankyou so much. It was a very emotional day yesterday! I don't like the fact that we are still classed as high risk but praying everything will be ok. X

Mintypea5 · 15/05/2019 15:19

@Pollypocket5 glad the scan showed that the chances are small! Hopefully you can relax a bit now

Just got home from our scan. All fine! Baby was drinking and flipping around. Measured exactly in line with our dates

RainhamRosie · 15/05/2019 15:38

@BobbySD345 it's is baby #1 I think my bump would have been more obvious had I not developed an absolute love for KFC for the first 10 weeks. Very glad it's here now though

Farmmum7 · 15/05/2019 15:44

@Pollypocket5 so glad that the scan went well and the consultant could put your mind at ease. Will they do additional scans as your considered high risk?

@Mintypea5 glad your scan went well too and baby is happy in there did they have any idea where the bleed might be from or did they just check on baby?

Mintypea5 · 15/05/2019 16:34

@Farmmum7 no reason seen. My placenta is low but they didn't think it was covering the cervix this time. I bleed last pregnancy all ten damn time so I guess I could just be one of those women! We have growth scans too because of other issues so hopefully that will help me relax over the next 5 months

Pollypocket5 · 15/05/2019 17:58

Thankyou ladies

@Farmmum7 I have a cardiac scan in 2 weeks and then the anomaly scan at 20 weeks but that's it. There's not much they can pick up from the scan. So it's just a case of waiting until the babies here.

Praying so hard right now!

worriedmomtobe1 · 16/05/2019 10:08

pollypocket5 all the prayers and wishes with you

Ladies I have my second midwife appointment tomorrow - anyone had theirs yet?
Apart from blood and urine test is there something else i should know or ask them for.
I have had little brown spotting earlier in pregnancy and then every other week and also this week but have been told when i phoned the line that if it is brown and does not follow by cramps and does not last for more than few days then it should be fine. Although its scary and makes you so worried , specially if its your first baby and you dont know what to expect.

When you have your blood tests for downs at your first scan appointment the lady who took the blood said they call you within few days if there is something urgent but i have read that may be they dont and all results are discussed on 2nd midwife appointment. How does it work?

I have not felt any movement yet but they say with first baby it is normal to not feel much until 20 weeks or so?

Thanks alot in advance :)

PrayingandHoping · 16/05/2019 11:19

@worriedmomtobe1 I was told they would ring you if there was a problem or I'd have a
Letter within 2 weeks. I received my letter within a week saying I was low risk.

My 16 week appointment is next week. I was told the blood and urine and that they would listen to babies heartbeat

Pollypocket5 · 16/05/2019 11:48

@worriedmomtobe1 Thankyou,

With me my problem was visual so they dealt with it there and then. I had a call from the midwife 3 days later advising my blood work came back but due to the high NT I would be considered high risk.

I have to say I was dealt with with urgency so therefore I honestly believe that if something comes back abnormal they will call you straight away.

HeartvsHead · 16/05/2019 12:12

@worriedmumtobe1 no news is good news with the blood tests. They screen for infectious illnesses and aneimia and would contact you if any worry about those. If you chose to have the chromosome screening they would again contact you if high risk if not it is a letter in the post.

At 16 week appointment they do heartbeat and urine and talk through your results. I didn't have blood taken at 16 weeks. No more blood taken until 20 weeks. Though that may vary from trust to trust.

worriedmomtobe1 · 16/05/2019 14:27

thank you @prayingandhoping @pollypocket5 and @heartsvshead thats really helpful
fingers crossed...

Mintypea5 · 16/05/2019 15:20

@worriedmomtobe1 not all areas do heartbeat at 16 weeks so don't worry if yours doesn't. Sorry you've had spotting it's bloody scary! Usually with a first pregnancy you start feeling movements between 16-20 weeks. At first it's weird flutters so you might not realise it's happening!

helpneededandadvice · 16/05/2019 15:32

Hi guys. I'm currently 26 weeks pregnant today. Found out on the 20th of December. Tested with a clear blue was postive with the 2-3 week and test number 2 3+. Me and my partner had a big fall out on the 14tj of December and on the 15th of December I slept with someone else. I don't remember my lmp because I didn't keep track as I was taking the pill half heartedly. Does this make the fling the father or my partner?
I don't know how to use this app. Sorry

PrayingandHoping · 16/05/2019 16:16

@helpneededandadvice you prob need to start a new post to get the most help.

As an answer to your question. If you are 26 weeks pregnant you prob ovulated and conceived around 24 weeks ago. So best to grab a calendar and count back....?

helpneededandadvice · 16/05/2019 16:19

All of the dates are adding to mine also. My lmp was around 15th if November so surely by the 15th of December when I was with the one night I was pregnant and didn't know as I found out on the 20th

PrayingandHoping · 16/05/2019 16:20

@helpneededandadvice 24 weeks ago was end November. So based on that it is unlikely to be your flings baby.

Also highly unlikely you would have got a CB 2+ weeks a week after conception which also discounts the fling

helpneededandadvice · 16/05/2019 16:21

Thank you so much for you're help

PrayingandHoping · 16/05/2019 16:21

@helpneededandadvice I think that's the most likely scenario

helpneededandadvice · 16/05/2019 16:21

I sound absolutely awful I feel so ashamed to have asked something like this

Pollypocket5 · 16/05/2019 16:35

@helpneededandadvice It's very unlikely that you would have got any positive 5 days after conception let alone 2-3 weeks on a clear blue.

Try not to be too hard on yourself especially now. You need to be stress free as much as possible.

helpneededandadvice · 16/05/2019 16:37

@Pollypocket5 thank you so much for you're help💕

BobbySD345 · 16/05/2019 17:20

Had my second dating scan today (some of you may remember my first one was a shambles). She didn't tell us the results of the NT but on the papers it says 2mm? I had bloods and have been told if we don't hear anything in 5 ish days then not to worry. The sonographer today has me around 4 days behind the private one last week but I guess it depends on how baby is sitting re the accuracy of the measurements. Hope everyone has had a good day x

Mintypea5 · 16/05/2019 17:31

@BobbySD345 glad the scan went well! 2mm is a great measurement. The top end is 3.5 I think. Did your private scan just measure rump to crown like the NHS do? My private one yesterday did head, tummy and thigh to get their measurements! I've not seen it done like that this early before usually at 20 weeks can
