@Farmmum7 sending hugs, I'm so sorry you're having such a rough time. Tbh I never had the glow with DS, I just went from one set of crappy symptoms to the next. People kept saying 'oh you'll feel amazing soon', well that never happened! All pregnancies are different. Take care of yourself x

Mintypea5 · 14/05/2019 11:31

I'm sure the glow is a lie! I've never had it 🙄

I'm sooooo tired today and soooo hungry. Definitely starting to feel flutters and things which is exciting

Still working up the courage to tell work

Welcome to all the newbie and congrats!!

BobbySD345 · 14/05/2019 11:40

Having one of "those days" today. Worrying that my boobs don't hurt anymore and despite feeling queasy that I have no other symptoms. Hoping thwt will change when the exhaustion sets in around 3pm 😬
Told work yesterday as we have a rule where we have to before 14 weeks but also I'm running out of clothes because even my trusty stretchy suit trousers don't fit right.

@Mintypea5 how far along are you? What do you mean by flutters? When do they start happening? X

Mintypea5 · 14/05/2019 12:02

@BobbySD345 it's total normal to have no symptoms by this point! Once the placenta takes over they tend to drop off. It's a bit of a rubbish stage because until you feel movement you don't really feel pregnant anymore.

By flutters I mean that early movement feeling. I can't really describe it but this is baby 3 and I only had one last year so my stomach muscles aren't putting up much resistance! Doesn't happen all the time but I know it's not gas! Grin

BananasAreTheSourceOfEvil · 14/05/2019 13:38

Im getting the movement sensations too- its weird because its been over eight years since I was pregnant last, but I recognised it instantly!

BobbySD345 · 14/05/2019 14:01

I've just walked to the shops at lunch and caught my reflection side on in a window. I look around 5 months pregnant Shock not the best choice of outfit today !

I haven't felt any flutters Sad

Mintypea5 · 14/05/2019 14:05

@BobbySD345 I didn't feel them this early with DS2 so I'm assuming it's just my shit stomach muscles making it easier for me! Most people don't start feeling until 16+ weeks

@BananasAreTheSourceOfEvil at first I was like nah must be gas or something but I'm pretty sure it's those early feelings of movements. Baby was a right wriggler during the scan so wouldn't be surprised

Casander · 14/05/2019 16:29

Hi! I’m at bit late to the party but I’m 13 weeks today, due 19th November. I’ve got my “12” week scan on Friday. I have 2 boys age 14 and 10 so I feel like I’ve not done this before!

I’m getting those twitchy feelings too, I thought I was going mad (or had wind!) but I think I just have zero core strength now 😂

BobbySD345 · 14/05/2019 18:22

Welcome @Casander. Same due date as me! Boots have their buy one get one half price sale, plus loads of other bits in the sale. So tempting !!

JoJoSaysHello · 14/05/2019 18:26

The only "glow" I have is from my bright red spots!! I didn't have spots this bad when I was a teenager...

No flutters here yet either... I'm excited to get to that stage though!

Welcome & congratulations to the newbies Smile

Kaff83 · 14/05/2019 22:28

I'm 14+1 now and definitely feeling some flutters too - this is number three though so also no stomach muscles. I think I was around 19 weeks with number one and 16 weeks with number two. My 4 year old is desperate to feel the baby kick, he asks every day, but I think it'll be quite a while before he can feel it!

I have so much of a bump that two of my colleagues today took one look at it and said "oh, I can see congratulations are in order" and something else to that effect! Risky if you ask me but it must be pretty obvious if they're willing to put themselves out there!! Again I think this might be a third child and no stomach muscles left thing!

As for the "glow", I never got that, but I definitely felt a lot better around mid way through my second trimesters until quite near the end despite having big bumps and carrying through the summer - so there is some hope of it feeling better yet! That's what I'm telling myself anyway as I'm still knackered and experiencing some nausea although that has definitely improved.

LittleAndOften · 14/05/2019 23:16

Is anyone else getting sneezing agony when they don't get enough time to brace? I've got hay-fever and have been sneezing all day. When I know it's coming I can prepare but when I sneeze without warning it pulls all the loose muscles or ligamenty things in my lower abdomen. Oh it hurts!!

LKH27 · 15/05/2019 05:16

@LittleAndOften yes, its so painful isn't it! I'm always so paranoid I'm going to tear something, but thankfully the pain quickly goes and I forget about it until the next one!

Mintypea5 · 15/05/2019 05:42

@LittleAndOften it's the worst. Makes me cry out with pain.

Having a private scan today after bleed a yesterday. Epu dismisses me saying if it was a miscarriage I'd be in sever pain ( thanks I know I've had 2 at this stage) and wouldn't see me. So for peace of mind I'm going for a scan. Bleeding now stopped and it wasn't a huge amount but enough To make me scared

Farmmum7 · 15/05/2019 08:10

@Mintypea5 good luck with the scan I'm still bleeding in bursts I'm just hoping the sickness means baby is still ok! Hopefully everything goes well I can't believe they wouldn't even see you to give you piece of mind!

Flutters are exciting though I'm on baby no. 3 but nothing yet then I didn't feel anything with my 2nd until 20weeks so I'm going to pretend to be patient! My DD is so excited she's got photocopies of the scan pics she's taken them everywhere she'll be delighted when she can feel it, she went to the library yesterday and picked up a couple of books she could read to it. Her excitement keeps me going when I'm feeling rough

RainhamRosie · 15/05/2019 08:13

@Mintypea5 hope all goes well today. Awful that they wouldn't see you.

I have a definite bump 😍 I thought it was bloating some of it is but it's properly there. I'm literally over the moon about this. Can't wait to feel flutters now. I'm 13 4 so that shouldn't be too long 🤞🏼

Mintypea5 · 15/05/2019 08:42

@RainhamRosie and @Farmmum7. I'm a little annoyed because I had this exact thing with DS2 at basically the same stage and they made a massive fuss. Got put in the small gestational pathway due to bleeding post 12 weeks but this time the midwife was like it will be your placenta so basically go away! I'm already on the pathway this time tho so maybe that's why 🤷🏻‍♀️

HeartvsHead · 15/05/2019 08:45

@mintypea5 hope all goes well. Bleeds are so terrifying but most the time all is find at this stage. Especially if has now stopped. Hopefully the scan can reassure you and you can then relax again. Though be warned you will be on knicker watch for a while!

Any of you had the additional screening blood test at 16 weeks? My scan was too late for the screening measurements so have been offered it.

HeartvsHead · 15/05/2019 08:49

Crosspost! Maybe that is why she is more chilled about it then. Hope all is good anyway x

thumper59 · 15/05/2019 09:34

Bump has made an appearance here too😚 sat stroking it at work haha!!

Got some lovely maxi dresses from primark at the weekend, should stretch with me and do the trick! Living in body con and wrap dresses atm. Sizing up isn't working for me! Next size up drowns me every where else!! Also got baby some gorgeous bits and bobs at the weekend. Got my first 'proper' outfit from the white company which is 6M so will fit for our holidays next year, and got a little Ralph Lauren baby grow which was £39 down to 12 so I couldn't resist!

BobbySD345 · 15/05/2019 10:37

@RainhamRosie is this baby #1 for you? I'm 13 + 2 and my bump has been here for around a week. I've been wondering it's bloat/too many pickled onion spade raiders 🤣 but it's rock hard and low down. HR at work know but no staff and I have so many people looking at my belly (unless it's all in my head...) they must all know by now. Plus I look green most of the day 🤢

Pollypocket5 · 15/05/2019 11:42

Hey ladies, Sorry I've been quiet had a hell of a week. After being told we were at an increase of Down syndrome we had a scan with a consultant.

They have told us that everything looks absolutely normal on the scan and nothing else indicating the baby does have downs. We have a 95% chance of a healthy baby so have decided not to have an amnio. We would keep the baby regardless.

@Mintypea5 Just seen you had a bleed. Hoping everything is ok.

Sorry if I have missed anything else.

BobbySD345 · 15/05/2019 12:12

@Mintypea5 sorry to hear about EPUs attitude. Good luck for the scan Flowers

BobbySD345 · 15/05/2019 12:13

@Pollypocket5 Amazing news !! I imagine this has been a very worrying time for you but you can relax now xx

Pollypocket5 · 15/05/2019 12:31

@BobbySD345 Yess definitely! We are still considered high risk but we will love our baby no matter what so just going to have to wait and see.
