Welcome @26Cocopops Grin

PyjamasForever · 10/05/2019 16:29

Had my scan today. Baby was being so uncooperative that they only just managed to get an NT measurement, but lots of lovely wiggling and arms moving about. New due date is 13/11/19!!

@PyjamasForever congratulations lovely scan!

Pollypocket5 · 10/05/2019 18:06

@PyjamasForever Beautiful scan!

Sorry ladies I have been a bit quiet. Ladies have you thought if your results come back as high risk would you have the amnio?

I have high risk of downs which me and my partner would keep the baby regardless so is it worth it?

PyjamasForever · 10/05/2019 18:12

@Pollypocket5 could you afford Harmony testing instead, it's still screening but >99% accurate and just a blood test. If not I think I would talk to your obstetrics team, if you chose not to have amnio would they give you extra scans such as fetal echocardiography? I think the most important thing is making sure all babies are born in places with the right help they need at birth, and children with Down's syndrome are more likely to have heart problems.

Ultimately I would like to know to be as prepared as possible, so probably would have amnio... but that might not be the right choice for someone else.

There is a charity called ARC which is great to discuss this with.

Pollypocket5 · 10/05/2019 18:23

@PyjamasForever Thankyou for your response.

So we will have to have a heart scan but that's not till 22 weeks. I have a list of questions regarding some soft makers that can be picked up from an ultrasound that can show DS. So I guess after all this our decision will become clearer.

The midwife said to mention the harmony test to our consultant so will see what he says and hopefully may get it on the NHS.

Arc have been amazing and literally got me through the last few days. The lady has been so positive and full of hope for both of us.

@LittleAndOften those dresses are lovely! I bought some bargain maternity jeans and jumpers in the George sale. Not sure if it’s still on but each item was about £6 and will hopefully keep me and bump warm in the autumn!

Bella1989 · 10/05/2019 19:57

Hey! I hope everyone is doing well! I had my scan on Wednesday & baby was wriggling away & doing a headstand so couldn’t get a decent photo! Haha!
I’m 2 days ahead of what we thought. New due date is 17/11/19!

Hels1987 · 11/05/2019 07:35

Can I join please? Had my 12 week scan on Thursday and due date of 24/11. This is our first baby and we are so excited Thanks

nickyXjayno · 11/05/2019 07:52

Had my scan date through in post. Its books for the 23rd. Soooo excited!

Farmmum7 · 11/05/2019 08:26

I woke up yesterday to find I was bleeding quite a bit I called my GP and he referred me to hospital. We had a scan and baby was fine there was no sign of anything on the ultrasound that could have caused it. They suggested it could have been my cervix they were going to have a look but no rooms were available so as the bleeding had subsided they said it should be fine. Has anyone else experienced this? If so did it last long?

PrayingandHoping · 11/05/2019 08:47

@Farmmum7 I had one episode of brown spotting at 6 weeks then I brown spotted for a week at 9 weeks with 2 episodes of bright red blood which lasted about a minute. Was scanned and checked both times and told it was cervical erosion. Was horrible and v scary

Mintypea5 · 11/05/2019 09:07

@Farmmum7 I had a massive (blood gushing bleed) at 14 weeks with DS2 last year. It was my placenta being low over my cervix but I also had lots of unexplained bleeds 6/8/11 and then pretty much daily from 23+ weeks ... one of those things apparently 🙈

Lovely scan! Did they date you from it?

Mintypea5 · 11/05/2019 09:10

Got my consultant appointments in the post set for July and October! 20 week scan is 27th June day before DS2 1st Birthday

Farmmum7 · 11/05/2019 09:15

PrayingandHoping did they suggest anything you can do or is it just something that happens?

Farmmum7 · 11/05/2019 09:21

Mintypea5 she said my dates were pretty spot on from the measurements so I assume I'm still due 28/11 but ive got my booking in appointment and scan in a couple of weeks so I'm not sure if they will decide to change it.

PrayingandHoping · 11/05/2019 09:28

@Farmmum7 they put it down to normal pregnancy hormones plus the extra ivf drugs I was in. To begin with they just told me to continue as normal but when it didn't stop and I called my midwife (again even though I knew there was nothing new to say but I was stressed and upset) she told me to completely rest. Within 48 hrs it stopped.... now it may have stopped anyway... who knows??

Tulipsinmyvase · 11/05/2019 09:49

Hi all,

I’m new to the thread, I’m due baby #3 around mid November. Had early scan all was good, excited for hospital scan this week!

I’m still suffering from on/off morning sickness, nausea and vomiting. But every time I feel awful I remind myself of the blessing of a little baby growing inside me, positive thinking gets me through.

We’re waiting patiently now for a gender scan, this will be our first time finding out the sex before birth.

Congratulations all on your pregnancies xxx

bearface45 · 11/05/2019 10:43

With my first baby I had a bleed where it gushed bright red. It was a tear in my womb they said and continued to bleed a little bit for next few weeks old blood until it was all gone. Baby absolutely fine. I’m getting a bit down now as 13 weeks and still feel terrible, I was ok by this point last time so am struggling now with work and little girl with partner working away from home 50%. Only thing I can really stomach is sandwiches and sweet things

Hi everyone just popping the Google doc due date list back in the thread so we don't fill up the thread with just the list.

12 weeks tomorrow here and starting to relax. We had our 12 week scan last week and all was good, NT measurement of 1.1mm so they think I should be low risk for the screening results. We've decided to wait until after 20 weeks to tell anyone who doesn't already know, although in our case this is now just family that we aren't really close with.

Mintypea5 · 11/05/2019 19:15

Had to have a nap this afternoon 🙈 also think I may have tonsillitis bugger! Can defo feel baby bump now (cushioned slightly) but it's there. DH thinks I'm showing more obviously this time but I guess it's my 3rd and I only had DS 10 months ago so it's not like I have any stomachs muscles

Sunshineface123 · 11/05/2019 19:55

Hi all hope everyone's doing ok? Sorry some of you are still feeling sicky. I've actually been feeling ok but think over done it a bit today as feeling tired and sick now. So excited for scan this Thursday- will be over 13 weeks!

Anyone had experience of finding out the babies sex and not and which did they prefer? We didn't know with our first but tempted to find out this time.
