Christmas babies

Just found out I’m expected a Christmas baby, well due 23 December according to online, which has been accurate in the past give or take a day! I know my cycle etc. Excited and nervous. Had some minor spotting the past few days, but AF never showed so took a test today and it was positive!

Anyone else due within days of Xmas? Might take a few days for people to find out if they are expecting a xmas baby. But thought I would start the thread now.

December2018 oh that sounds lovely! That would be my ideal lol...my mom being there and MIL to help with the cooking and the kids....while I focus on giving birth or the newborn! :) And FIL to help with the dog :) He has a big soft spot for her....actually they all do lol.

@Mamabear12 I think there'll be lots of changes over the next year!

chishandfipps · 19/04/2019 12:59

I wonder how many of us will actually be 2020 mothers! Probably most of the FTMs amongst us Grin

GrannyClanger · 19/04/2019 14:01

I wonder that too! We’re working out when to tell our parents, - not sure how long we can hold out for!

lordofthefries · 19/04/2019 14:25

We’ve told DM and MIL. They’re so excited!Grin Starting to feel more real now

EmeraldRubyShark · 19/04/2019 17:27

I’m seeing my dad tomorrow, though my OH and SM won’t be there, and I’ve decided not to tell him as it’s only five weeks. My reasoning being I wanna tell him with excitement he’s gonna be a granddad and not tell him then immediately dampen it and tell him not to expect anything cos it’s such early days. It’ll be hard to hold out but after a twelve week scan or maybe an earlier private ten week scan we’ll tell them and it’ll be all the sweeter I think.

I’d tell him retrospectively if we miscarry for the support but I don’t want to put him through the stress of this fragile early period!

Mamabear12 · 19/04/2019 17:48

Forgot to mention yesterday my daughter said to me “do you have a secret?” And later in the day “I feel you have a secret!” Lol. She has never said that to me! 😳

Can’t wait to tell the kids!

That's so funny @Mamabear12, my DH is convinced my son's picked up on something because he's being super clingy with me, much more than normal. I can't wait to tell him but I need to wait until we've told everyone we want to tell because he'll just blurt it out to everyone!

Nervousdave · 20/04/2019 00:22

Hi! Can I please join?
Had BFP yesterday (and today to confirm). 🤰LMP gives due date of 16th Dec, but it was my only one since having my mirena out a few months ago so might be a bit off. App reckons I'm 5+6.
DH and I hadn't officially started trying, so we're a little shocked, as I'd warned him it could take months or years 🙈
I've travelled to be with my entire family for Easter, and trying to come up with excuses why I'm not all over the red wine this weekend. 🙄🍷 At the moment "I'm on a diet" seems to be working! Trying to avoid my mums chain smoking too, but it's hard because shes desperate for a gossip.
Since finding out yesterday I've been really nervous that something will go wrong

Comps83 · 20/04/2019 05:00

Anyone keep getting a really dry mouth? Is that a symptom? Confused

Eliza9919 · 20/04/2019 06:15

I have, and a sore throat now but I think its because I came down with a cold in my nose on Thursday, seems to be going now though.

The thing I'm wondering if it will stay is being REALLY hot?

peasando · 20/04/2019 06:42

@Comps83 yes me, especially when I wake up - I wake up and feel like I have a hangover and then realise I haven't been drinking anything at all!

MerlinsBeard87 · 20/04/2019 06:47

Joining too. This is a surprise 3rd baby and I haven't told a soul yet, not even dh. Sadly I don't think he'll be very excited, just terrified! Period would have been due in next few days but my boobs have been agony so decided to test.
Due 1st January, but I would need a 3rd section, so if they did that at 39 weeks it would be xmas day! I'm assuming they don't book elective sections xmas day? 12 week scan with my first two brought me forward a few days so with any luck this one might squeeze in before Xmas.
Planning on keeping the news to myself for a few more days to get my head around it and figure out how to tell dh.

Mamabear12 · 20/04/2019 07:10

Nervousdave Welcome! Hopefully everyone will just believe you are on a diet and not question the no drinking. I found out I was on holiday...half way through with a group of people, where drinking is a part of on the beach etc. Half way through I suddenly stopped drinking and luckily no one noticed. The only person who would have noticed is my sister in law and I told her as she knew we were trying on and off and I let her know that AF was due the next day or not! It was nice to tell someone on the trip and voice my worries as the first day I had a drop of blood and very minor spotting that disappeared luckily.

Mine are almost 4 and 18 months so we will have our hands full! Oldest will start school in September so that will take some pressure off.

Can I join?
Due date is Christmas day! I'm a bit nervous though as I've had two miscarriages (baby died at 12+2 in October and I had a chemical pregnancy last month) but third time lucky, right?

JGWelsh · 20/04/2019 08:43

Hi everyone, my online calculator due date is Xmas day too! Trying to decide whether to tell anyone yet. Feel very anxious and excited. May tell my two closest friends today as they are coming over for food and drinks and will notice straight away when I don't drink the prosecco!

JGWelsh · 20/04/2019 08:47

Beaglemum93 so sorry to hear about your miscarriages. Yes third time lucky Smile

Missmoo84 · 20/04/2019 09:02

Hi! I’m also due 23rd Dec. First baby after myself and my husband have been trying for 2 years and had been referred for fertility treatment as ‘nothing was wrong’ on paper or could be found. So we have got pregnant from our first IUI treatment! This involved me injecting daily and then having insemination right into the womb, all worth it and I am over the moon but unbelievably scared too! I am getting severe lower back pain a lot is this normal? Also feel ridiculously bloated too!! X

Beaglemum93 · 20/04/2019 09:14

Congratulations @JGWelsh and @Missmoo84! I'm not sure about the lower back pain but I've been so bloated.

JGWelsh · 20/04/2019 09:18

Me too, so bloated! Although I have IBS so this is fairly normal for me, it seems to be worse in the morning.

ELJ1502 · 20/04/2019 09:28

Morning,

Congratulations to those who have just their BFPs.

@Eliza9919 I'm sure I read somewhere that colds are a common early symptom.

I've had a few catch ups with friends and family this week and found it so hard to keep it in. We've decided to tell our parents in a couple of weeks. We're going away camping, on the 4th, for Bank Holiday weekend with my partner's parents, so they'll notice when I'm not drinking. I've ordered this to tell them both. I thought it would be a nice way and allows me to bottle out of waffling. They're all so desperate for grandchildren, I know they'll be ecstatic. I'm then going to tell me best friend after my booking appointment at 9 weeks. But no one else until after the 12 week scan.

I found yesterday's heat a struggle. I'd normally lie out all day, but found it hard to get comfortable. It also seemed to make my nausea worse. I think I might hide in the house today.

Worrier2019 · 20/04/2019 09:33

@EmeraldRubyShark we are doing the exact same thing and not telling anyone until we've had a scan. I'm going away in a few weeks and I'm dreading something terrible might happen when I'm away. So we've decided not to tell any parents until we can see our little bean on the screen looking fit and healthy - only 7 weeks to go haha!

Eliza9919 · 20/04/2019 09:48

I've heard that too @ELJ1502 thankfully it seems to be clearing up now though.
