Christmas babies

Mamabear12 · 14/04/2019 17:23

Just found out I’m expected a Christmas baby, well due 23 December according to online, which has been accurate in the past give or take a day! I know my cycle etc. Excited and nervous. Had some minor spotting the past few days, but AF never showed so took a test today and it was positive!

Anyone else due within days of Xmas? Might take a few days for people to find out if they are expecting a xmas baby. But thought I would start the thread now.

Is anyone else completely exhausted?

Summersun8383 · 18/04/2019 22:24

@lordofthefries we're going to tell our parents on Sunday as we have a family do. Wouldn't normal tell them so early but whilst we have everyone together thought we might as well,....and if they notice me without a drink they'll know anyway haha Smile

lordofthefries · 18/04/2019 22:49

@ELJ1502 I’m shattered all the time, took DS swimming today and I could barely keep my eyes open when we got home.

@Summersun8383 I think we’ll tell them, if anything happens they’ll be understanding so it’ll be nice to have a few more people know about our little bubble

Mamabear12 · 19/04/2019 07:55

Anyone notice better skin? I’m definitely noticing my skin is much better. Usually I have a couple pimples and now it’s clear and Glowing!

Hi can I please join this thread. I’ve had 5 positive tests since I tested yesterday and an online calendar has suggested my due date is the 12th of December.

I didnt think I could have children - not been told anything medically but it just did not happen with my ex partner over a number of years. Fast forward to now, I came off the pill in November and began TTC with my partner (thinking it would never happen!)

I’m currently two weeks late, have very sore boobs, had a couple of hot flushes and have been sick once (completely out of the blue). I’ve also been told my moods are all over the place.

I’m scared to believe I’m actually pregnant! I’m going to get a digital test later to see if that helps reassure me.

EmeraldRubyShark · 19/04/2019 08:39

My moods are definitely all over the place. cried this morning learning the baby is the size of an ant. Got an early scan at 5+6 Tuesday to check for ectopic. Very scared.

Is everyone staying on this thread? Only there’s a December 2019 thread too and I’ve been using both but might just go over to the other one so I’m not duplicating posts as it seems busier.

December2018 · 19/04/2019 08:44

@EmeraldRubyShark I was gonna do the same thing.... I'm getting confused with these two threads lol 😂

peasando · 19/04/2019 08:53

I've been lurking on the December 2019 thread but I can't keep track! Too many people for my poor fried brain 😂😂

Summersun8383 · 19/04/2019 08:58

@Mamabear12 I wish!! My skin has gone crazy....pimples all over my chin and neck.....same happened last pregnancy though so I should have expected it Confused So glamorous isn't it lol

ELJ1502 · 19/04/2019 09:02

I tried the December thread and got lost.

My skin is terrible at the moment, covered in spots and drying out.

TheOnlyMrsA · 19/04/2019 09:02

@lordofthefries I told my Mum & MIL yesterday. I needed some support. I felt very alone and anxious. I needed some family love. Xoxox

peasando · 19/04/2019 09:18

@Mamabear12 my skin is super dry and I seem to have developed spots on my back and the back of my neck! 🙁

DieCryHate · 19/04/2019 09:44

@Mamabear12 my skin went terrible during the two week wait, in fact I left for work half an hour later than normal the day I got a positive result due to slathering on moisturisers, primer, camo foundation then normal foundation. Honestly I looked terrible.

Now I'm just over 5 weeks my skin looks pretty decent (apart from my rosacea has given me a permanently red and bumpy nose). I'm hoping I may get the glow to offset the trapped wind and nausea Grin

Sparkle2019 · 19/04/2019 09:50

26th of December here!

Eliza9919 · 19/04/2019 09:53

Can I join? Got a bfp yesterday evening after 3yrs TTC our first. Only 14dpo yesterday so it's very early days. Due date is 28th December according to the NHS calculator.

I've had quite strong symptoms since very early on. Sore boobs, dizziness and nausea. I came down with a nose cold yesterday. Feel absolutely shattered and like I've no energy. Just walking up the stairs makes me need a lie down.

I don't know whether to start ringing to get booked in today or just wait until Tuesday now.

TheOnlyMrsA · 19/04/2019 09:57

Where is this glow everyone is talking about! I look like SHITE.

Going out with the girls today and getting my makeup done professionally and I can't wait not to be ugly. I feel gross 😂 I'm not even spotty I just look vile 😂🤮!

How are we all today? I hope everyone is feeling prositive. Remember try not to question your life choices too much as you hug the toilet.... this will all be worth it in the end (so they say!) xoxox

Mamabear12 · 19/04/2019 10:31

I knew there was a separate December 2019 thread, but as pp mentioned you get lost! I thought Christmas babies thread would keep it smaller and as its the end of December thought more fun to chat with people closer to due date. Of course anyone from December is welcome :) But that was my reasoning of making a new thread versus hopping on the December 2019 one.

Especially closer to due date time, it will be interesting to discuss plans in place to celebrate Christmas or what to do! Lol. In my family we tend to do the big thing on the 24th, but my due date with be 23rd (tbc by dating scan, but in past dating scan was always within one day of my online guess) and giving birth I've always been within one day (one day before w first and one day after with second!).

@Mamabear12 I'm really worried about Christmas I usually cook for both sides of my family on Christmas Day, we're talking 12/13 people minimum so with my due date being xmas Eve (scan pending) I'm really worried I'm either going to have just given birth or be massive and exhausted. I don't actually think I'll go on my day, however my mum did go literally on the day with me and my siblings. I was due the 18th Dec, and I started to be born on the 18th but arrived safely on the 19th. So who knows.

I wouldn't mind sharing my birthday with my own little GusGog too if they do come early!

How many babies have you had I can't seem to remember?

Also really love our smaller thread it feels like we'll be able to keep up right to the end of all our pregnancies!

(I've had a change in screen name as I didn't feel very anonymous ... as all your names are hella 'online allius' 😂)

DieCryHate · 19/04/2019 10:54

@TheOnlyMrsA hugging the toilet and questioning life choices Grin I was in agony going to bed last night. Was so close to calling 111. I think it was just trapped wind. Lovely

ELJ1502 · 19/04/2019 11:02

I've been with my partner 10 years and we've never spent the full Christmas day together. We're very close to our families and neither wanted to give up the Christmas with their family. Even when we bought our house together, we stayed in the house on Christmas Eve and went our separate ways on Christmas morning. I've no idea what will happen this year. My online due date is the 24th and because this will be my first, I've no idea what to expect. We're both hoping to not be in labour on Christmas day!

December2018 · 19/04/2019 11:30

@TheOnlyMrsA I had to cancel all Christmas plans last year as my little dinosaur was born on the 23rd (due date 19th) so only got home from the hospital Christmas Eve evening... but all my family came to my rescue my mum & mother in law came round and cooked the dinner together and waited on me hand & foot 😂.... it was great I'm not gonna lie haha!

This was my Christmas baby photo just before we got "released" from the hospital haha.... ohhh I'm getting very exited thinking about Christmas again this year 😍

Argh Christmas! I always cook, we alternate between my family coming to us and DH's family coming to us, this year it's his family's turn 🤦‍♀️ Also I have a two year old and I really want to make sure Christmas is still special for him!

I am due on 23rd but have to have a section so will prob be a few days before that. I'm just planning to have Christmas fully planned and everything ordered well in advance, and hoping against hope the section is early enough that I'm out of hospital on Christmas Day! Have already told DH this year he will have to cook under my supervision...this could be interesting, he does not cook!!

Mamabear12 · 19/04/2019 12:04

TheOnlyMrsA I have two children and a dog :) DC 5 and 7. Dog is 1. Kids are at that age where Christmas is so important to them....luckily we keep it real small. Last year it was just us and other years Grandparents (we live different country from our parents). So depends really. I do EVERYTHING - all the gift buying, wrapping etc. I usually save wrapping until the day or two before! Christmas Eve I am always wrapping gifts from Santa! Lol. This year, I will obviously plan way ahead. But I am nervous if I am in hospital, how the gifts will be put out etc so kids think its Santa! My mom should be coming to help, but she likes to be at the birth as well (and I like her there!). Ideally, inlaws would come, but stay in a hotel and can help with Christmas....as it would be squeeze if they stayed with us as well as my mother.
