Christmas babies

Just found out I’m expected a Christmas baby, well due 23 December according to online, which has been accurate in the past give or take a day! I know my cycle etc. Excited and nervous. Had some minor spotting the past few days, but AF never showed so took a test today and it was positive!

Anyone else due within days of Xmas? Might take a few days for people to find out if they are expecting a xmas baby. But thought I would start the thread now.

@chishandfipps ohhh it's so exiting I cried at all my scans lol
My little one is 4 months... took us 7 years to conceive him so I was completely shocked when we fell pregnant again... only had sex 1 time in those 4 months 😂

Worrier2019 · 18/04/2019 07:22

@Comps83 I debated doing that, but I'm going on holiday in a few weeks and I'm scared of MC so I'm waiting for 12 weeks and see what happens in the meantime. Fingers crossed it'll be ok!

MrsAshxo · 18/04/2019 07:43

Morning All!

Congratulations to you lovely ladies who joined us overnight 💕🤰!

Hope everything is ok for you all today.

I've had the worst headache for the past two nights meaning I didn't sleep well last night, I had to wake my poor husband up at the crack of dawn to rub my back and fetch me water as I threw up. He doctor gave me antibiotics for a UTI yesterday so I'm hoping the nausea and overheating pass slightly when this passes as I start a new job next week 🙄! Xox

itsnotso · 18/04/2019 07:50

I'm a Christmas baby, I was due the 20th but arrived on the 27th. My daughter was due on the 31st but arrived on the 10th Jan. Both of us really dislike our birth dates, but are enjoyed nevertheless. A lot of people "forgot" my daughters birthday party this year with it being the first way back after the school holidays 😥.

My mum made a really big fuss of my birthday. There were never any doubling up of presents. She did an amazing job making me feel special, and I do exactly the same with my little girl.

Congratulations to all you lovely ladies, it's gong to be fun for you all seeing which day your little bundles arrive 💜💙

Has everyone given up caffeine or is anyone still having one coffee in the morning? I just had a coffee. I wanted to give it up....but have not been sleeping so well so still having my coffee. I think tomorrow I will switch to tea and then gradually stop that as well. Still feeling slightly bloated.

December2018 · 18/04/2019 07:53

@Mamabear12 I'm still drinking coffee I'll have a mug in the morning and then I switch to decaf in the day and maybe have a sweet cup of tea at night before bed lol sweet tea also helps with my nausea 🤢 which is Brett brutal this morning to say the least ha!

December2018 · 18/04/2019 07:54

*pretty brutal!
Haha! Brett brutal sounds like a really shit villain from a batman movie 😂

Losd · 18/04/2019 08:04

Can I join? I’m due on 11th December so a couple of weeks before Christmas but first baby so will probably be late! I have a scan on Tuesday at 6w 6d because this is my 11th pregnancy (over 16 years) with no live births so I’m being heavily monitored, I’m a bag of nerves but so looking forward to it, so far everything is going well except for not being able to sleep due to killer boob pain!

EmeraldRubyShark · 18/04/2019 08:08

Morning!

I decided that all this talking about and googling pregnancy stuff was just really whipping up my anxiety so I’m gonna try and just pretend it’s not happening until the first scan in a few weeks time, so I’ll be back in a few weeks everyone 💜 for now I just need to try and put it out of my mind and live my life as normal (minus the caffeine and booze!) and I think I’ll get through these awful scary early months better.

ELJ1502 · 18/04/2019 08:15

@Mamabear12 I'm just drinking decaf tea which really isn't that bad. I've also bought ginger tea to try and help the nausea. Coffee doesn't really bother me, otherthan a christmas coffee I rarely touch them. There's lots of nice fruit teas you could drink which are caffeine free too.

Mamabear12 · 18/04/2019 08:44

It seems like a lot of people on here are already having nausea. I’m really hoping this pregnancy will be like my others. But I’m nervous as I read morning sickness usually doesn’t happen until 6weeks. Crossing fingers that it skips me!! And sorry to all who aren’t feeling well. Hope it passes for you all quickly.

peasando · 18/04/2019 08:54

@Mamabear12 I mostly gave up coffee a while ago, but I'm still having a cup of tea every morning, then switching to decaf or peppermint through the day. Couldn't give up my morning cuppa!

Mamabear12 · 18/04/2019 09:11

And anyone else jeans tight to button?! Mine are a bit tight already on belly. Annoying! But perhaps as it’s getting warmer out I can get away w dresses etc. Don’t want to start wearing maternity jeans already!! 😳

@Mamabear12 yeah
I had to go out and buy some more
Nothing to do with pregnancy though, I’m just greedy! Grin

lordofthefries · 18/04/2019 09:24

I’ve noticed I’m already getting a bit of a bump, but apparently the second time around it happens quicker. I’m quite small as well so I think it’s more obvious

Mamabear12 · 18/04/2019 09:32

lordofthefries That might explain it then. This is my third time around and I’m quite slim (but tall). Second time definitely showed early. With my first I didn’t show until after 20 months! Second time I think 10 weeks (I forget).

I’m supposed to finish unpacking and laundry etc. Not in the mood at all!!! Also, have two kids home and already walked the dog. All I feel like doing is sitting and reading about pregnancy!

Sorry, I meant 20 weeks! I already have baby brain lol

Hi everyone, well I'm definitely in this club but not too sure of dates as I have fallen straight from coming off the pill so not sure how they work it out!? Eeeek can't believe we're having a Xmas baby, definitely thought we would have been trying for longer with being older this time! No major sickness yet just a bit queasy which setting pass quickly but very heavy boobs though! We have a DS who will be 4 in July and I'm a bit nervous about how he'll settle with a new addition but just staying positive and keeping my fingers crossed he'll be okSmile Excited and nervous to do it all again. I filled in my form for a booking appointment last week...how long do they usually take to come through? Think it'll feel more real once I've seen somebody official lol xx

diplodoco · 18/04/2019 09:59

@Mamabear12 I already can't stand anything on my stomach, I had this last time. I've had to go out and buy a load of giant knickers so they don't dig in!

Mamabear12 · 18/04/2019 10:09

diplodoco I’ve noticed I don’t like that either like if I’m wearing jeans and leaning over it feels uncomfortable. I need to find acceptable stretchy trousers to wear out!

OP posts:
diplodoco · 18/04/2019 10:13

Yes exactly that! I've found some nice summary ones in Tesco that have a wide waist band and got them a size at least bigger than what is normally get and those have been ok so far. Jersey type material. I can't cope with jeans at all. I feel like I'm always really aware of my uterus!

Albanyriver · 18/04/2019 10:15

I’d also like to join the thread. Due date of 16th Dec based on LMP. I’ve always had decaf tea and coffee....my problem is going to be giving up the Pepsi when I’m at work!

ELJ1502 · 18/04/2019 10:15

Leggings are my friends right now. I've tried my normal jeans and felt so uncomfortable and then was at an exercise class last night and my gym pants were horrendous. I'm just hoping for it to get warmer so I can go without tights at work. I'm a teacher on Easter holidays this week, so I've got away with jogging bottoms, but it certainly won't be the same next week.

VeryNewToAllThis · 18/04/2019 10:27

@ELJ1502 I am also in this club, and also a teacher on Easter holidays! Would be good to share experiences with you in the classroom! I'm hoping I can continue wearing my normal teaching clothes for a bit longer... but the thought of tights sounds restrictive! I'll be six weeks when we go back to school, so hoping sickness doesn't turn up! Fingers crossed!

Albanyriver · 18/04/2019 10:34

@ELJ1502 I’m also a teacher on Easter holidays. When are you sharing the news with work? If I wait til 12 weeks it’s may half term and by then most of the timetabling will have been done....I feel bad if they then have to re-timetable because I’ll have lots of exam group, but I don’t want to share news before the 12 week scan.
