Christmas babies

Mamabear12 · 14/04/2019 17:23

Just found out I’m expected a Christmas baby, well due 23 December according to online, which has been accurate in the past give or take a day! I know my cycle etc. Excited and nervous. Had some minor spotting the past few days, but AF never showed so took a test today and it was positive!

Anyone else due within days of Xmas? Might take a few days for people to find out if they are expecting a xmas baby. But thought I would start the thread now.

I'm no where near as nauseous as I have been and even though I'm still tired, I don't feel quite as bad! My boobies and still horrendously sore and I'm still very hormonal (moody rather than emotional) but I'm a moody cow anyway lol....

I've only had 4 hrs sleep as hubby went out last night and didn't get back til 2am which I knew he wouldn't but I don't sleep til he's home! Then he was snoring and I was agitated in bed cos I was hot and uncomfortable so went and slept on the sofa at 3am! Got woken up by next door at 6.55 mowing the fecking lawn!! I mean seriously, it's Sunday morning and she was fecking mowing! Let's hope I don't bump into her today cos she'll get it both barrels....FUMING!

peasando · 26/05/2019 07:40

Aw @Emmilou82 I would kill her! Sorry you had a bad sleep, I feel like I haven't slept properly for ages but I actually had s brilliant sleep last night and unbelievably my 2 year old didn't wake up til 7 - a total treat! I'm feeling a lot more normal although still getting nausea when I haven't eaten, but otherwise much better. I seem to have developed loads of spots though - I haven't really had spots since I was a teenager (and I'm 39 now!) 😣

Jowd92 · 26/05/2019 08:24

A bit random has anyone else been on holiday when early pregnant, holiday has been booked for ages and then had the surprise pregnancy by surprise I mean as my youngest is only 9 months lol! I'm 9 weeks at the moment I go in 4 weeks time so I will be around 13 weeks I have my 12 week scan the week before i go but I'm so nervous about flying now even more so then i was before about flying with a 9 month old lol does anyone have any advice it's really starting to worry me also as it's a 4 and half hour flight

mummabear18 · 26/05/2019 08:40

You’ve got nothing to worry about at all with flying. Lots of people have to fly all over the world for work. Currently I’m flying back and forth to Russia every few weeks which is 3.5-4 hours each way. Haven’t had a single issue and all medical advice indicates that it’s completely safe.

Mamabear12 · 26/05/2019 08:44

Jowd92 I had a 8 hour flight recently at 9 weeks and a two hour flight at 2 weeks. My only fear was if I felt sick on the plane. But luckily I felt fine. I didn’t eat any food from the plane and just packed my own. Apple, fruit pouch, Brazil nuts; crackers etc. I also bought a sandwich from Pret as I’ve always eaten from them and been fine. I also brought mints, gum and anti nausea bands just in case. But didn’t need the bands. Oh and a bottle of water.

@Jowd92 I'm flying at 13 weeks - holiday was booked before I got pregnant but not worried about it, in fact massively looking forward to it! You will be fine x

Jowd92 · 26/05/2019 08:56

Thank you all I feel a little better I am so excited to go just had those little worries! My sickness seems to have stopped for now did you have to wear flight socks as I'm told this is a must?

starflake · 26/05/2019 09:24

@Mamabear12 can I just say please be aware of what your bringing on a plane, my DD is severely allergic to peanuts & tree nuts especially Brazil nuts, I'm terrified flying with her in case people bring them on the plane. If you opened Brazil nuts around my DD on a plane she would go into anaphylactic shock.
I know most people don't have to think about that, not saying your doing anything wrong but I wish airlines would hurry up & ban all nuts from airports & people carrying them, flying is stressful enough as a parent.
Sorry completely off topic 😂 I'm lurking on this board as I'm due 31/12/19 & afraid to post till 12 weeks! I've had 3 chemicals before this sticky bean. Had a scan at 6 weeks as was referred cause of the chemicals & had a bleed at 5 but all was well & saw heartbeat, have another scan at 10 weeks in EPU before getting signed back to hospital. Exciting & worrying

chishandfipps · 26/05/2019 09:44

I've had a bleed this morning. I'm not sure how much but it was there when I wiped and in the toilet when I went for a wee.

I'm 10+4, what do I do?

I think the midwife gave me a number at my booking in to call. But it's Sunday and a bank holiday. I'm quite worried :(

VeryNewToAllThis · 26/05/2019 09:55

How's everyone's clothes fitting? Anyone else had to break out the maternity jeans yet? I've put my 'normal' jeans on today and can barely breathe! I'm only 9+5! Have a feeling I'm going to be the size of a whale before I know it! 😂

Funnybunnyfluff · 26/05/2019 10:11

@Jowd92

At my booking on appointment midwife said flight ✈️ socks are a must. Any flight wear them. Very strict about that.

@chishandfipps
Sorry to here you have had a bit of a bleed, I have no advice I was call EPU but as you say it's Sundays. I have my midwifes mobile I'd probably send her a txt msg. Hopefully they can book you in next week. Hopefully it's nothing to worry about xxx

I'm 10+2 and feel like a have a stitch it's more if I breath in deeply. It's high up like my rib cage right side. Anyone else experience this?

chishandfipps · 26/05/2019 10:25

Thanks @Funnybunnyfluff. Called the delivery suite, they gave me the number for EPU but they're closed on Sundays.

So I guess i just have to wait and see, and hope I can call someone tomorrow.

Mamabear12 · 26/05/2019 10:25

starflake Obviously I won’t eat them if the flight attendant says there is someone with an allergy on the plane. I fly a lot and sometimes they make this announcement so I always listen for it. My sisters daughter also has a nut allergy. Make sure when you fly you notify the plane to make this announcement. Some airlines even serve nuts still! My sister dd also has sever allergies and has to tell people not to eat nuts before coming to the house as she got a reaction when a child had peanut butter with breakfast and came to the house for a play date.

Good luck with your current pregnancy! When is your 10 weeks scan?

Mamabear12 · 26/05/2019 10:37

chishandfipps I am sorry to hear that :( it sucks when there is a long weekend bc the only thing you can do is wait. I’m not sure how the EPU works, but you could try calling to see if you can at least get an apt to go in Tuesday for a scan? Perhaps someone else will know how it works.

I am feeling less bloated and less pregnant today 😳 but I assume that’s normal as this pregnancy was the one I felt the most bloated. So maybe my body is starting to debloat. My boobs still hurt a lot.

starflake · 26/05/2019 10:39

Yes I always notify them, only fly with one airline as they announce & will stop people from opening nuts. Will also allow us to preboard & wipe down all seats in rows behind & in front as even residue will set her off. I actually hate flying with her, terrified me. Last time we flew flight attendant said they are years campaigning to have all nuts banned from airports etc to make it easier on everyone but no such luck just yet. I think there should be at least knowledge out there for people flying to be made aware as before my DD got diagnosed 2 years ago I'd personally never have thought about it either.
My 10 week scan is Tuesday week, so a week & 2 days to go! Super nervous to see a heartbeat again, constantly knicker watching & symptom watching.

RLI1105 · 26/05/2019 11:26

@chishandfipps I'm really sorry to hear that. Fingers crossed that is settling!
I had a small bleed at 5 weeks during the night when the EPU was closed. I spoke to someone at the emergency assessment unit and although they only see people past 17 weeks she told me if I found myself in lots of pain and the bleeding got worse I was to go to A&E.
How are you feeling now?

chishandfipps · 26/05/2019 11:42

@RLI1105 I feel fine! No pain but still light bleeding and it is bright red.

I'll just keep my fingers crossed today that it doesn't get any worse and call my midwife first thing in the morning (I only have an office number for her) .

Mamabear12 · 26/05/2019 12:52

starflake I had the knicker watching as well, but only when I spotted (it was when my p was due). But it was very minor when I wiped . It kept me watching for days after. Now I have relaxed w bit. But if I feel anything down there I do get a little nervous and want to check. Can’t wait for the 10 week scan!

Trousers are feeling particularly snug right now ... only 9+2 and definitely sure I already have some darker tummy hairs (I'm sure they weren't that dark before! 😂)

TDLO · 26/05/2019 15:05

@chishandfipps , your local hospital might have a maternity triage phone number that you can call for advice when epas is shut. It's normally on the hospital website or if you call the main hospital number and ask for maternity triage. They'll maybe not bring you in, but they will take your symptoms and discuss with you what is best to do.
Hoping for the best for you xx

TDLO · 26/05/2019 15:10

@TDLO

Oh wow congratulations!! I find it crazy how the baby looks so big on a screen but is so tiny.
I keep thinking it's a dream.

TDLO · 26/05/2019 15:30

@Funnybunnyfluff I know, same here. I could believe we could see it wriggling around and waving and kicking. Had tears in my eyes. So amazing.

NapsAndTea · 26/05/2019 16:02

@TDLO that's so exciting! What lovely clear pictures 😍

Funnybunnyfluff · 26/05/2019 16:13

@TDLO

I broke down and cried after my MMC I wasn't expecting to see a baby tbh. Sobbed my heart out and had panda 🐼 eyes 🙈.

I kept saying sorry to the poor ladies doing the scan I bet they are use to emotional women. I hope lol
