Christmas babies

Just found out I’m expected a Christmas baby, well due 23 December according to online, which has been accurate in the past give or take a day! I know my cycle etc. Excited and nervous. Had some minor spotting the past few days, but AF never showed so took a test today and it was positive!

Anyone else due within days of Xmas? Might take a few days for people to find out if they are expecting a xmas baby. But thought I would start the thread now.

@mamabear12 I had like 5 sweeps with my youngest his now 9 months everytime the midwife did it she said it was really favourable and she was sure I would have baby that night still never happened Haha so I ended up being induced in the end not sure I will have them this time round just seems pointless but everyone is different

Back on the food topic again - I AM SO HUNGRY!! Thankfully I’ve started to feel less sick the last couple of days but now my appetite is ridiculous! Today i packed loads of “emergency” snacks of crisps biscuits and chocolate (I thought I know I’m going to hit the vending machine if I don’t bring my own so I might as well roll with the unhealthy cravings...) and ate them all and then at 4pm I went out and bought a huge baguette because I was so hungry I couldn’t concentrate!! Anyone else like this or just me?

Mamabear12 · 24/05/2019 17:15

Jojobabymamma I am hungry it seems all day long. Just had a mars ice-cream bar. Now will make bolognese....but still starving! But trying to wait as need to cook dinner for the kids...and i know that will keep me full...but I will need a snack later this evening as I always get hungry. And if I don't eat, I feel sick.

@Mamabear12 yeah it is exhausting 😂 I just want sleep and food!
I had a sweep with my little man I had my sweep at 1:30 in the afternoon and I was having contractions before I even put my knickers back on 😂 my waters didn't go until 11:30 that night though... I went around my local shopping centre having contractions every 20 mins I was totally in denial

NapsAndTea · 24/05/2019 21:55

Awww cute scans girls!

I'm getting very exited for mine 😍
It's making it sink in a bit that there is a little human in my belly and my little boy is going to be a big brother 😊

RLI1105 · 25/05/2019 09:30

Lovely photos! 😁 All very exciting!
I was wondering, has anyone not had a scan yet? I'm 10 weeks today (Eeek!) and am holding out for the 12 weeker. My husband and I are super excited for it. It'll be amazing to actually see the baby. Put a face to the reason I feel so terrible! 😂

jpaws · 25/05/2019 09:55

I haven't had a scan yet, mines scheduled for 7th June when I'll be 12+1. Not long to wait now! Then I might start believing it more Grin

Mamabear12 · 25/05/2019 10:09

Aww sweet scans, now they are looking like babies! Crazy how fast they change and grow.

Funnybunnyfluff · 25/05/2019 11:44

I had to have a scan for piece of mind.

I had a MMC day before my 12 week scan last October. I had been so down since I found out I was pregnant this time round not believing there was a baby. When I phoned they were busy and couldn't book me in straight away but I sobbed when I say a baby on Monday.

Naturally I would have waited for 12 weeks but I just needed to know so I could get past how I was feeling. Things do still happen but I feel I was given some hope this time.

I don't think there is a right or wrong choice.

MamaGeordie · 25/05/2019 12:02

Hi all, I've been a bit absent from this group with some miscarriage scares but all seems fine at the moment. Scans show a healthy heartbeat and good growth. EDD 3rd January 2020 so 8+1 today Smile

Mamabear12 · 25/05/2019 13:23

RLI1105 this is the first time I actually got a scan before 12 weeks. My last two dc I waited all the way until 12 weeks and now I can not believe I waited so long!

I haven't had any scans yet I've got my 12 week one next Wednesday I'll only be 11 weeks though 😂

Emmilou82 · 25/05/2019 14:14

Can't wait for my 12 week scan.... it's not till the 10th June 😩 I've heard some people say if you're nice to the sonographer they will try and look for gender clues! What do you recon? I think 12 weeks is too early?!

Has anyone bought any baby stuff yet? I'm itching too but need to hold off 😬

Just looked at my Fitbit and my resting heart rate is 102 lol.... I can feel my heart pounding!!!

December2019 · 25/05/2019 14:24

@Emmilou82 last time the sonographer told me it's hard to tell at 12 weeks because they're still so tiny, I'm so exited to buy stuff but I've still got stuff from my little boy he's only 5 months old 😊
So his Moses basket is still brand new he's only slept in it a handful of times.. and his bouncer is still new lol it's all white/gray so it's gender neutral... I'm exited to demolish my OHs man cave and turn it into another nursery 😂

Emmilou82 · 25/05/2019 14:33

@December2019 my son is 12 years old now and I was sterilised so I am starting from scratch again 🙈 we only have 3 bedrooms and have my son and my step son who each have their own rooms..... baby will have to stay in with us for the first 6 months but in the meantime we need to look for a bigger house. Luckily we rent so we can be flexible like that 😬

Yeah, I guess it's hard to tell at 12 weeks really, I'm just keen to crack on and get organised! I'm a planner lol

Mamabear12 · 25/05/2019 15:09

Emmilou82 look up the nub theory. We accurately predicted both of our dc using this theory at 12 weeks. Just ask the songrapher for a clear image of the nub with baby back lying flat.

I saved a lot of clothing from both my ds and dd. We only need to buy big items, that you would not buy until later in pregnancy like crib, stroller etc.

OP posts:
December2019 · 25/05/2019 15:35

@Mamabear12 what even is the nub?
I've heard lots of predictions using the nub theory and they have always been right.. I'm sooo gonna ask on Wednesday!

@Emmilou82 it must be sooo exiting for you starting again, there is 12 years between me & my sister and we are soooo close! Like we don't do anything without each other

Emmilou82 · 25/05/2019 16:02

@Mamabear12 I've heard of the nub theory so will ask the sonographer. I'm on a Facebook page for Ramzi and nub theory and on my 6+6 scan picture they had a slight lean for a girl!!! I do hope so cos I'm team pink and the rest of the family are team blue!!!

@December2019 yeah I'm good with the 12 year age gap because he is quite independent and know he will be a huge help when little one arrives. Hubby works away (12 on 2 off) so he will be a god send then lol

Mamabear12 · 25/05/2019 16:39

The nub theory is basically the angle of the dangle. Every baby at 12 weeks has a nub, which looks like a little penis. But for boys it points up and girls it points horizontal. The sonographer won't say if this is correct. At least ours did not in the past. But agreed to give us a good view during the scan at my request to see the nub. I will ask again, to see the nub, more so for curiosity if it will be right....but we will find out early through the harmony test anyway. It is good to hear about big gaps and siblings being close. I sometimes worry if the 6 year gap will make the young one feel left out!

Does anyone have any feelings to what they are having? Lately when I refer to the baby I can feel myself thinking "him or he." However, I want a girl! But for some reason I keep thinking that...this happened before and I had a boy. With my first I had a hunch it was a girl and even bought girl baby clothes before my 12 week scan! Crazy I know...but I was right again :)

Christmas pjs are cheap in mothercare in the smallest sizes. Just picked up some my first christmas pjs in newborn for £5 down from £16 today. So cute!

Emmilou82 · 25/05/2019 18:10

@Mamabear12 I'm thinking I'm having a girl.... I widening around my hips and my bum and people I know who have carried girls seem to put weight on all round. With my boy, I was all out front! I know it's 50/50 but hey, I'm hoping lol. I'm happy either way though.

I'll see if the sonographer can get me a couple of pictures, they are £5 each according to the letter I got yesterday but hey ho....

What else is really weird is that 12 years ago, I didn't have a smart phone, Facebook, Instagram and all of these forums. I have printed photos of my son but hardly any photos of me pregnant so I'm hoping when I get a bump etc, I can capture it! Information and times have changed so much so I'm hoping to capture as many memories/moments of this pregnancy as possible as this will be my last. Hubby and I have 4 children between us already 😬

Mamabear12 · 25/05/2019 23:09

How is everyone feeling symptom wise? Today I don’t feel bloated and I’m not experiencing my extreme hunger this evening and last I ate was at 6pm!! So strange...my boobs still hurt a lot when touched. So strange as my other two pregnancies my breasts never hurt.
