Christmas babies

Just found out I’m expected a Christmas baby, well due 23 December according to online, which has been accurate in the past give or take a day! I know my cycle etc. Excited and nervous. Had some minor spotting the past few days, but AF never showed so took a test today and it was positive!

Anyone else due within days of Xmas? Might take a few days for people to find out if they are expecting a xmas baby. But thought I would start the thread now.

Had an early scan today because I'd had a fairly big bleed - baby is healthy so my panic is over!

I'm absolutely overwhelmed with exhaustion though!!! Have felt guilty because I've done nothing productive all day and am now trying to drag myself out of bed to get my toddler from nursery!

My boobs seem to have stopped hurting ... hoping this is just a bonus and not a bad thing as I don't feel like I have any other symptoms atm ... 8+4 and have another scan Friday (have had 2 so far where we've seen a heartbeat so hopefully it's just that the baby is giving me a break lol!) 🤞🏼

Tell me if this is TMI ladies but is anyone else suffering from a slowed digestive system (constipation)?

I've tried fruit, orange juice, liquorice! All my normal tricks aren't having any effect! I'm less regular and much.... firmer! 😂

Trying to avoid prune juice 🤢 or any medicated option if I can! Please tell me I'm not alone in this! 😂

You are preaching to the choir! 😂 I have IBS and my problem used to be the other end of the spectrum...When I stopped the pill though my symptoms all but stopped!! I wonder is it was an ingredient.... Anyway, literally from the get go I have been completely constipated. The worst period was between week 4 and 5. I was actually brought to tears with the pain.
I have just made sure I am drinking tonnes of water. I have used prune juice as well (the taste is vile though!)
If I go every 3 days though it's a success

I tried prune juice at the weekend
Darent try it again!

Had a private scan yesterday as last pregnancy ended in a MMC.

Please to say healthy baby so far and heard heartbeat.

It seems so far away and I'm dying to see baby again.

Keep seeing such sad stories on the forums I'm on and my heart breaks for each and everyone of the ladies ☹️ it makes me very anxious

@Funnybunnyfluff hey there! I'm due the 19th so where not far apart I've got my booking in appointment today, no idea when my 12 week scan will be I'm so exited to see those little squiggly arms & legs 😍

@NapsAndTea mine keep doing that, properly freaked me out the first time, they got sore again though. I was told that it means absolutely nothing unless accompanied by bleeding or bad cramping. I’m 11 and a half weeks now and they’re sore but nothing like what they were between 6 and 10 weeks, now just sore to touch really, nausea easing off now too 🥳

@Emmilou82 how exciting that we due the same day and same scan date. Hopefully everything continue as it should do. On my scan I saw I was going to have twins but one has not developed as it should do. Other is perfectly fine at the moment and moving around.
She didn't think it would cause any bleeding and Will get absorbed but least I know if anything happens. So glad I went for an early scan.

My boobs are very tender especially turning over in bed.

@Funnybunnyfluff Aaah, sorry to hear that but I'm so pleased that your other baby is doing good.

Had my booking appt booked in all this time for this morning only to wait half an hour in reception to then be told I’d been booked the wrong appt and could I go to a hospital in another area at the weekend
It’s just a good job I hadn’t purposely booked the time off work

@NapsAndTeaAnd @Losd My boobs also doing the same, after hurting for the last 5 weeks solid. It really freaked me out thinking "loss of symptoms" but still mega tired and the occasional nausea which is normal for me, so just trying to calm myself down and assume my hormones have done enough in my boobs for now lol.

Hoping everyone is doing well. My next scan is 1st June, doing a private scan as we want to tell family that day as we're all together. Just really nervous and anxious all the time, which I think comes from my previous loss.

Hi all I'm already a mommy to 3 my youngest is only 9 months and recently found out I'm expecting again big shock! Due around 28th December had some slight bleeding and pain so had to have an early scan but was pleased to see a little baby with a lovely strong heartbeat so nervous anyone else had babies close together?

@Jowd92 hey there I've not got 2 close together yet.. my little boy is only 5 months old and I'm 10 weeks pregnant tomorrow... they will be exactly 12 months apart 😂😂
Due on my little ones due date too... what are the odds haha

My friend has 2 13 months apart and she loves it, they are so close

@TDLO @Losd reassuring to hear others are the same! Haven't had any sickness at all but have been constantly eating to keep me going through the day. 9 week scan on Friday ... I get so nervous on the days before - I need to stop thinking the worst all the time!

Aww yes that's what I was thinking with them being close in age I hope they are close just had a few saying have 2 so close is a nightmare and this and that but everyone has different opinions dont they

@NapsAndTea I know, every little thing is so worrying, I really didn't imagine the first trimester being like this. Every little twinge, new feeling, (tmi) discharge etc, I'm thinking, is this it over for me?? Hopefully after first trimester this calms down 🤞🏻 x

Was anyone else due in the days between Christmas and New Years?

Has anyone else had an appointment through for the obstetric clinic ?

This is all new to me but I was told at my booking in appointment due to an under active thyroid I would be a high risk pregnancy also st child birth.

I have looked it up and it says:
An obstetrician is a doctor who specialises in the care of women during pregnancy, labour and after birth. ... In others, your midwife or GP will refer you to an obstetrician if they have any concerns about your pregnancy – for example, you had a previous complication in pregnancy or have a long-term illness.

They want a urine sample. Says nothing to worry about, just wondering if anyone else has had this experience?

@Funnybunnyfluff I need to see a consultant at my next midwife appt because my bmi is a bit high. Not sure if it's an obstetrician though but think it's just to make sure we're ok don't think it's automatically something to worry about xx
