Christmas babies

Just found out I’m expected a Christmas baby, well due 23 December according to online, which has been accurate in the past give or take a day! I know my cycle etc. Excited and nervous. Had some minor spotting the past few days, but AF never showed so took a test today and it was positive!

Anyone else due within days of Xmas? Might take a few days for people to find out if they are expecting a xmas baby. But thought I would start the thread now.

We had already booked a trip to Mexico riviera maya before I was pregnant but Tbf we went on a baby moon for dd2 too and it’s quite nice to go and relax and enjoy your current family dynamic for the last holiday before it changes.

Woke up this morning with bad cramps for about 20 minutes like really strong period pains no bleeding or spotting at all however.

I didnt know if it was perhaps as this would have been the normal time for my period or if it’s my body still just stretching out. Had the bad cramps a couple of weeks ago when I ended up having the scan wandering if I should just hold on until the 30th May for my private scan or call on Monday to the EPU or midwife?

Sorry just keep thinking the worst is going to happen think after the early miscarriage 2 years ago & this week finding out 2 of my friends have both miscarried my anxiety is sky high at the moment.

@Aims4488 I've been getting a lot of cramps too, it's scary but I think it's quite normal. Because of my history I've been scanned every week since 6 weeks and there have been no problems at all, everything is looking fine - I think they say it's just your uterus stretching and everything moving around to accommodate baba!

If you're worried you should give your midwife or EPU a call but no bleeding is a good sign. I'm sure everything is fine xx

Thanks @peasando luckily had no more today and my boobs are still really sore and nausea coming in waves still so feel I am going to just rest over the weekend as EPU isnt open until Monday and hopefully the rest will help.

Emmilou82 I have had mcdonalds a couple times this week lol. But making sure I am also eating some nutritious foods too. Not sure why my body is craving mcdonalds!! Actually, it just seems to be the breakfast sausage egg mcmuffin I'm craving.

@Mamabear12 when my son had a McDs the other week I couldn't stand the smell of it and it nauseated me.... today I really needed one but had to drive home with the car windows down as the smell made me heave!
It was lush though and could quite happily eat it again lol

@Aims4488 all these things are so scary! Wish we could just have a sonographer with us 24/7 for first few months til we can feel the kicks! I got loads of cramping up to about week 8 I think then it eased off but still get occasional period type pains, been told not to worry as it’s 100% normal. Only freaked out this week cos it was accompanied by bleeding (still traumatised haha! Slept for Scotland last night after 2 nights of distress, bloody troublemaking foetus) Hope it’s all eased off now though as it’s unsettling even when you know it’s just your body making room xx

Had a bizarre dream last night which has worried me a little....I've got my booking in appointment on Tuesday at 10am with the midwife which my mum is coming with me to. Hubby is at work and my mum is a retired midwife so thought she'd like to come 😬 Hoping to get a date for my next scan (dating scan) but my dream last night was that they dated me back to 5 weeks ( I'm currently 9 + 2).
That won't happen will it? The first day of my last period was 15th March!! What if baby is measuring too small? What if things aren't progressing?
I'm really worried now 😩 I've been quite chilled up to now and this dream has knocked me off guard!

@Emmilou82 I had a horrible dream last week that I had a huge bleed and it freaked me out, so I know how you feel! Thankfully it hasn’t happened though- if you think about it thoughts and worries about pregnancy are floating around our heads all day long, so it’s no wonder our brains are still trying to figure them out while we sleep!
The only thing we can do is take it a day at a time and remember that the odds are in our favour and everything is likely to be fine. Worrying won’t make a difference! I know it’s much easier said than done- I have my dating scan on Tuesday and I’m really anxious about it.

Had my booking in appointment today.... all went well. Bloods taken, medical history done and my scan booked for 10th June at 8.40. I'll be 12 + 3 then. Hubby and I have booked the day off so we can have a chilled day together 🤗 exciting times

@Emmilou82 i have my scan on the 10th too. I've actually had a few scans already but the 12 week on is such a milestone, can't wait. Also it'll be the first one my DH has been to this pregnancy so I'm hoping it will make it all a bit more real for him too!

@peasando I had a reassurance at 5+5 to make sure it wasn't ectopic and then at 6+5 to see the heartbeat.
Like you say it's such a milestone.... 😬

How is everyone feeling today? My breasts are still hurting and look so big. I am feeling fat, belly getting bigger...but does not look like a bump...just like I have put 10 lbs lol. But I weighed myself and haven't put any weight...or if I did its only a couple of lbs... I do not own a scale at home, but as I am abroad visiting my mom, was able to weight myself bc she has a scale. I think I will buy a scale so I can monitor my weight...as mainly just curious to keep track as my last two pregnancies I put on 23+ kilos. I would like to see how much I gain with this one. I am hoping it will be 15 or 20 max! But of course not much I can do about it. In my family, at least going by my mom and sister, we put loads of weight during pregnancy. But it all comes off after (by one year after) as I never diet, it just slowly comes off. I am surprised this time around how big my boobs already are and how sore they are. My first two they were not sore, just a tiny bit bigger. If I did not already have a 6 week scan, I would think there were two in there! But at my 6 week scan, saw only one.

I wonder if anyone on here will be having twins :) I know loads of people that have had twins. It seems a lot more common these days. Most of the ones we know, they have been natural twins (and most are friends who went for a third child and got surprise twins!). One family went for a 4th child and got twins. One I know had twin boys first, had a third boy and now pregnant with a 4th boy! Sorry for my rambling. I guess I just have twins on my mind lol.

Is anyone still waiting for their first scans? I have my next scan (10 weeks on 30th of May). I get nervous with each scan...more so for 12 weeks and 20 weeks. After that, I relax. I plan to do a 3d scan to bring the kids too (this is after 20 weeks check) its mainly to just see baby face etc. I did with my first two, so thought it would be nice to do with the third to show my kids the baby. However, I will of course check that its okay to do (bringing kids along). Anyone else plan to do a 3d scan at a later date?

Hi everyone! I'm 12 weeks on Thursday and due 5th December, got my 12 week scan on Friday Grin. My stomach looks like I have a bump already to the point my mum asked if we were sure there's only one in there, we are, we had a scan at 7 weeks ha!

Keep going lightheaded, boobs are still slightly sore and my appetite has massively increased!
