Christmas babies

Just found out I’m expected a Christmas baby, well due 23 December according to online, which has been accurate in the past give or take a day! I know my cycle etc. Excited and nervous. Had some minor spotting the past few days, but AF never showed so took a test today and it was positive!

Anyone else due within days of Xmas? Might take a few days for people to find out if they are expecting a xmas baby. But thought I would start the thread now.

@Losd hang in there, hope everything is ok for you. I know you'll be counting the minutes till Friday, but try and keep distracted if you can. Wishing best of luck and everything crossed for you x

TDLO · 15/05/2019 18:34

Hope everyone is ok tonight, I had my booking in appt today which was nice as I never made this point in my first pregnancy, so a bit of a milestone ticked off now.

Got my next reassurance scan Friday, counting the minutes, this small hematoma they seen last time is now playing massively on my mind although everything points to not to worry.

Feeling some sharp crampy pains again, getting these every few days. Just praying it's normal.

Hope everyone else doing ok.

peasando · 15/05/2019 18:50

Oh @Losd, that's so scary but fingers crossed it's absolutely nothing. I'm so sorry you have to wait until Friday for a scan, the waiting is horrible. Try to stay positive, people have bleeds in pregnancy all the time and go on to have healthy babies. Fingers crossed for you xx

Jollymollyx · 15/05/2019 22:18

@Mamabear12
I’m 7+4 today, I had a miscarriage between dc1 and 2 and it wasn’t growing properly so just hoping this one catches up, i’ve also read like you said some catch up by 12 weeks. I hope your bloating discomfort eases up for you

@Emmilou82 yes I agree every pregnancy has been different for me too but this one is so far more different to the other two, im extra tired from looking after my other two too.

@Inthesky42 hiya... your symptoms sound just like mine, I’ve only felt sick if hungry but anything savoury like a cracker just removes that feeling, my last two I was so much more sick... unless it’s still going to kick in yet!

@EdajOvor congrats and sorry to see you’re so sick, I found in one pregnancy crackers, gingery things like ginger biscuits helped, and second pregnancy lemon drops. Both times I wore travel sickness bands from the pharmacy which reduced the feeling by a little.

@Losd good luck for your scan I hope everything works out for you Flowers

Emmilou82 · 16/05/2019 06:02

@Losd I hope everything is ok.... thinking about you

sportmixture · 16/05/2019 17:08

@Losd we will all be thinking of you on Friday hoping it all goes well, I have booked in for a reassurance scan on Sunday and I know even if it goes well I won’t stop worrying until the 14 weeks mark, as last time I had a scan at 8 weeks and everything was fine (I was bleeding) but miscarried at 10 weeks, it’s difficult as obviously worrying doesn’t help and I’m trying hard to be positive but I think it’s natural, especially since I was told at my age there was practically no chance of getting pregnant in the first place x

Are people still planning on going on holiday this summer? I’m not sure what to do . Might be wise to save the money and as our hols are usually just a massive pissup I’m not sure what I’d do with myself

Aims4488 · 16/05/2019 18:43

@Comps83 We are off to Majorca next month mainly as we had booked the holiday at the beginning of the year and no reason not to go and enjoy it really looking forward to it now and hopefully we would have announced to our parents before going as we are actually going away with his mum, dad & sister.

@Losd I have just been catching up on the thread and wanted to say I am thinking of you and have everything crossed for you for tomorrow ThanksThanks

Mamabear12 · 16/05/2019 18:44

Comps83 We are going on holiday to the in laws summer cabin. We go every summer for a week or two. That’s all we will do. I’m glad we managed to do a nice spring beach holiday with kids, which they loved. So this summer that will be it. I’m hoping summer in London will be sunny and amazing! 😀

@Comps83 I am certainly still intending on going on holidays this year as normal, I am going out to Lanzarote for a while in the summer and will probably go away in October half term as well if everything is going to plan xx

EmeraldRubyShark · 17/05/2019 07:24

Comps83 we don’t really do big summer holidays, I spend all of my free money on going to gigs and together we will usually go for a weekend mini getaway or two around our anniversary or elsewhere in the year, maximum distance a dash to Holland. My query has been how late I can keep attending gigs! It’s been my main favourite use of time for about 18 years and will be the thing I miss most about having a new baby (it’s not so much that I go to gigs for the sake of it, more that music is pretty much my life and I always go see the bands I love when they’re touring to see the music live). I have a gig at 12wk which is a pretty heavy sweaty metal show so I’m planning to sit up at the back as opposed to standing on the barrier as I usually do, and a sit down gig at 16wk, and another sit down gig at seven months. I think that will be the last. But if other bands announce in the meantime I’ll still be there (even if it’s the usual 200 mile trip each way which I sometimes end up doing twice a week or several times in a month 😂)

Aims4488 · 17/05/2019 07:41

@EmeraldRubyShark I am off to see Ed Sheeran in Ipswich and will be 22 weeks will be the first time I am standing for one of this shows (this will be the third year of seeing him) but my plan is stand to the side so I have the option to perhaps sit on the floor until he actually comes on if needed. Luckily the drive is only an hour to get there but I am determined to see him especially as its in his home area! Smile

December2019 · 17/05/2019 08:02

@EmeraldRubyShark hey there I'm seeing rammstein in July and I went to gigs more or less right through my last pregnancy 😜 even went to download.... debating on wether I should go to volbeat in October though 😄.... I probably will 🤘😜🤘

TDLO · 17/05/2019 08:41

We're just going to do a uk holiday, we're so nervous and want to be here in case something goes wrong. I think if it hadn't been for our mc in Jan though we'd not even think twice about going abroad, I know plenty of people who have or would.

Got my second reassurance scan today to check on everything and hopefully the hematoma has been re-absorbed 🤞🏻 I'm 9 weeks today (hopefully) - bundle of nerves lol x

peasando · 17/05/2019 08:56

We're off to Greece for a couple of weeks next month - we booked it before I got pregnant but I'm not worried about it. We're staying in a hotel and the way I see it it's two weeks of not having to cook, clean etc - probably good for me and the baby! Plus sunshine ☀️😎

Oops sorry for double post!

Mamabear12 · 17/05/2019 10:25

With my first we flew to the bahamas for 10 days when I was 5.5 months pregnant and it was my favourite trip and best holiday. Highly recommend taking a holiday if you are planning to, as once baby comes its more difficult to travel the first few years. Now my kids are 5 and 7 and its easier to travel so I am glad we did a family beach holiday recently. I know once this baby arrives I will not want to be flying anywhere!

But if you are not sure if you will still have morning sickness, then maybe hold off on holiday planning, as it wouldn't be much fun if you were not feeling well the whole time etc.

@peasando Just getting too excited for your holiday that you posted twice 😂😂

With regards to going away I will be 14 weeks when we go is there anything in particular I need to be careful about. I need to update travel insurance to say I am pregnant but didnt know anything else I should be mindful of.

Losd · 17/05/2019 17:12

Baby is fine! Woke up this morning with awful crampy pains and more blood, was so convinced I was miscarrying I tried to book Monday and Tuesday off work so I could recover from d&c, then went for scan and baby was showing off some crazy dance moves, flailing arms and legs and healthy as a tiny horse 😂 bleeding unexplained but there’s no blood or leaks in or around uterus so they’re thinking it will just be from the growing and stretching my womb is doing. I’m in shock honestly, thought I was going to faint after the scan, I’m just so happy and so in love with that hyperactive little foetus ❤️
