Christmas babies

Mamabear12 · 14/04/2019 17:23

Just found out I’m expected a Christmas baby, well due 23 December according to online, which has been accurate in the past give or take a day! I know my cycle etc. Excited and nervous. Had some minor spotting the past few days, but AF never showed so took a test today and it was positive!

Anyone else due within days of Xmas? Might take a few days for people to find out if they are expecting a xmas baby. But thought I would start the thread now.

Well it's 8.22pm and I've just got in bed 😴 not even said goodnight to OH just showered and got in bed lol!

9 hr day at work, food shopping, cooked dinner, washed up, cleaned kitchen and I can't keep my eyes open 😬

My belly feels huge and I look about 3 months already and I'm only 7 + 5 😩

NapsAndTea · 08/05/2019 22:23

@Emmilou82 I got home feeling more awake than I had in ages as I had a big snack after work, had my dinner when I got in (quite late) thought I'd get on with my marking (teacher!!) and instead slept on the sofa. Finally woken up and need to get to bed now 🤦🏻‍♀️ goodness knows when I'll ever get anything done! 😴

My first daughter was due on Xmas Day but arrived on the 30th !

Mamabear12 · 09/05/2019 07:59

This morning I had some minor spotting when I wiped. It’s around when my period would have been due. I’m nervous now. Hate this feeling. Frustrating! Never spotted w first two pregnancies. Although, I’ve read about women who spotted and everything was fine. But then of women who had miscarriages. Argh! Praying it will be okay.

Mamabear12

I know how worried you must be. I don’t have any advice, and chances are that you’ll be absolutely fine, but I’m sending unmumsnetty hugs.

Mamabear12 · 09/05/2019 11:12

GoldPaperStars Thank you. So far it seems okay. I think it will just go away (I hope!). It hasn’t progressed so at least there is that. It’s just the fear that it could progress. I’m also due to travel to the USA on Sunday!

Oh @Mamabear12, sorry to hear this, I'm sure it's 100% fine but I know how worried you must be. Thinking of you and sending hugs x

Jojobabymamma · 09/05/2019 22:11

I spotted quite a bit at 6 and a half weeks with last baby and was really worried, but it was all fine. Hope you’re ok xxx

Mamabear12 · 09/05/2019 23:14

Thanks all, I think it’s okay. It was just that morning wipe and after it’s been clear cm so crossing fingers all is well.

Had some brown blood last night and a bit this morning when showering. 😢 Boobs aren't sore anymore either. Starting to panic now.

NapsAndTea · 10/05/2019 06:42

@Babykent2019 fingers crossed all is okay xx

Babykent2019 · 10/05/2019 06:57

@NapsAndTea I've text my midwife (waiting to hear back) and I have a scan already booked for this evening. 😢

Mamabear12 · 10/05/2019 07:10

Babykent2019 Crossing fingers for you all is well. It’s a good thing you have a scan this evening. I’m still wondering what caused the random spotting yesterday morning. But from research and asking friends it seems that spotting happens more often then we realise In healthy pregnancies. A lot of my friends have had this with at least one of their pregnancies.

I've since had a bit more bleeding. Unsure whether to go to A&E now or wait an hour to call the GP when they open?

Emmilou82 · 10/05/2019 08:57

@Babykent2019 I hope everything's ok Hun....

Feeling really blurgh this morning! Really sicky 😩 8 weeks today and starting with sickness!!!

MrsS7 · 10/05/2019 09:14

I've had little bits of brown discharge/spotting pretty much every day for the last week. It's worrying and getting me down but it's just a tiny bit once or twice a day, not getting worse. I've mentioned it to my midwife and GP, and both seemed unconcerned- they said I should only worry if it turns into bright red blood, there's a lot more of it, or I get painful cramping.
Fingers crossed we will all be fine!

Mamabear12 · 10/05/2019 10:33

Babykent2019 Hope all is okay. My friend had a big bleed her first pregnancy and it turned out fine. However, it’s frustrating and scary as sometimes it doesn’t turn out fine. But you have your scan today so you can check and hopefully all will be well.

I just got another McDonald’s breakfast. I was craving it big time. This pregnancy I’m really craving fats. An avocado ain’t cutting it! I’m naturally slim, so I wonder if it’s my body wanting to put on extra weight when pregnant. Every pregnancy I get extreme hunger and put loads of weight. It all comes off after, but wish I could be more satisfied with healthy things. I had a bowl of oatmeal and apple this morning and literally one hour later was starving. Had to get McDonald’s breakfast as only thing I craved and felt would satisfy me. 😳 and boy was it good! I just feel bad bc it’s just junk food with no nutrients really! I’ve tried eating loads of Brazil nuts, avocado and Greek yogurt to try and satisfy, but doesn’t help. It’s not like I can make a roast chicken or salmon for every meal! And only allowed two cans of tuna a week, so not sure how to get filling foods. I have eggs sometimes and on occasion cooked ham as lunch meat (w no nitrates). Sorry about the rant about food, it’s just that I keep getting hunger pangs and most nights go to bed feeling extremely hungry - even though I try eating a bowl of cereal or breadsticks etc before bed. My husband said perhaps I should try more proteins, but I don’t feel like I have many easy protein options. Nuts don’t cut it. And I get nervous about eating too much lunch meats - does anyone else gets so hungry? I know some of you are feeling sick. But does anyone have this extreme hunger all day long? I’m supposed to fly Sunday so need to pack my bag full of snacks I guess!

I've just got back from the hospital. The doctor did a urine test, get around my stomach and listened and said there was nothing to worry about it was just "normal pregnancy bleeding" . They want me to go in on Monday for an early pregnancy scan though and I have my private one this evening.
Still getting a bit of blood when i wipe but not enough to warrant a pad.

@Mamabear12 Also a maccies fan. Ended up picking a large Mcchicken sandwich meal on the way back and blubbed into my large fries 🍟. I was starving.

Mamabear12 · 10/05/2019 13:10

Babykent2019 Glad it went well at the doctors. Now the scan should reassure you more. What did you get at the McDonald’s to go with the fries? 😀

Babykent2019 · 10/05/2019 15:07

@Mamabear12 it was a Mc chicken sandwich and was so good!
Yeah a bit more settled now and looking forward to tonight's scan. X

Mum637k · 10/05/2019 16:04

Hi ladies, have any of you NOT had uterus stretching pains? Im 6+5 and haven't felt any since 4 weeks and even then it was just two nights and maybe gas instead of stretching.

EmeraldRubyShark · 10/05/2019 16:06

Mum637k not since 4-5 weeks. It was pretty intense back then but I haven’t had any since.

m0jit0 · 10/05/2019 16:15

Hi all, I have been lurking on this thread since I got my bfp, I'm now 8+4 and I'm going for an early scan tomorrow. Too anxious to wait for the 12 week one. Symptoms are very much coming and going and worried that there isn't actually a baby in there.

chishandfipps · 10/05/2019 16:50

Hi again everyone! I posted a few weeks ago but have been lurking since. I'll probably lurk on and off as I'm scared to get excited and tempt fate..

@m0jit0 I've also got a private scan tomorrow! I'm sure all will be well for both of us. What time is your scan?

@Mamabear12 I am constantly STARVING. And I don't know what to do about it. It doesn't help that I'm constantly craving meat. It's all I can think about. I've been vegetarian for 5 years. A sausage and egg McMuffin sounds incredible right now. Sad

I have my booking in appointment next week, I might ask for more info on diet. Feeling more full, how to get everything I need etc.

Comps83 · 10/05/2019 17:38

Anyone else’s doctor say your due date was a day out than what you had?
I’m sure I’ve read on a here a few times that their doc told them a day later . I used the nhs calculator so don’t know why it would be different. Not that it matters . Just curious . (I mean before any scans)
